Syri moved on instinct as her wolf drove her to pleasure and claim their mate. Even that voice inside her head repeatedly telling her to be careful not to be too rough barely made it through her lust-soaked brain. Rough hands played at her breasts and needy lips suckled at smooth flesh. All the while, Syri's wolf nagged, wanting nothing more than to sink its teeth through skin and ensure nobody else had the chance to steal the thing it loved.

Fortunately, their "treasure" was important enough to cherish and protect, even as her hips trembled with the desire to thrust forward and finish the deed. Though, the only action the wolf could conceive was a full stop, a very pitiful and confused look on her face as she looked down at Alice, torn between what was right and what she wanted. A sharp whine even escaped her, contrasting the confidence that got them so far.

So close. She was so close! One more thrust, maybe two, and Alice would be properly marked.

Syri imagined such a thing many times, and now she was right there. No, it was even better. From the needy pleas to the sting of the scratch marks on her shoulders, Syri felt unleashed. No longer was it just a dream. No longer did she have to be so very careful not to rush into something Alice didn't want. Alice wanted her! She did!

But that was also the reason she stopped herself, restraining an impatient needy wolf and whimpering like a puppy deprived of its favorite toy. Syri didn't want to make a mistake and ruin a potential lifetime of happiness for a moment of pleasure. And she was rewarded with a smile.

The pure and beautiful smile filled Syri with warmth, and the words that followed relieved her of all hesitation.

Mine. My treasure. My mate.

Alice didn't have to say it twice. Alice became hers. Marked. Held. Kissed. Even after a few minutes and things started to settle, Syri didn't want to let her go.

"It's fine. Spontaneous often means messy," Syri comforted, having reverted back to her usual form and once more able to form coherent sentences. Well, other than sounding a bit tired. But that would pass after a few minutes of cuddling, and there would be no negotiations. Or so that was the plan.

Unfortunately, after a few minutes of holding one another, Syri looked up and saw the one thing she really didn't want to see: Haley. Alone, yes, but standing there with the widest grin Syri had ever seen. The only thing more unpleasant was the bright sparkle in her eyes as she stood there, practically shaking with excitement at what she stumbled upon. Her oh so responsible and mature sister in such a deliciously compromising situation. Only in her dreams did Haley imagine such a thing. Oh the power!

For a moment, Syri's eyes grew nearly as wide as Haley's grin, a bit of panic setting in, though it quickly found itself replaced by anger as widened eyes narrowed to a slit. If she dared make Alice embarrassed… Syri would end her. Or so her eyes said. And they said it very loudly and clearly and threateningly.

Haley merely looked at her and started trembling harder, so exaggeratedly so that she seemed about to topple over. Only then did Syri realize her infuriating sister was holding back laughter. She even chewed on her lip, barely able to contain herself as her desire to cause chaos bubbled beneath the surface. Could she resist? Could she? Haley wasn't even sure it was physically possible.

Eventually, the standoff turned into a silent, mouthed negotiation that had them throwing around various promises. Haley still had the advantage, though, with Syri being forced to contain her anger and be as gentle as possible as not to alert Alice to their voyeur.

In the end, a deal was struck, and while Haley would certainly want more after the fact, she reluctantly agreed to withdraw after getting what she wanted. There was also some threatening involved that helped wrap up negotiations, but Syri knew she ended things at a severe disadvantage. It was fine, though. Haley left. That was all that mattered.

Now all Syri needed to do was summon the energy and willpower to move and escape with the gorgeous woman in her arms before Haley rushed back with company. It was the kind of move she knew her sister would make, which made getting out of there an urgent matter, even if she wanted nothing more than to cuddle and enjoy the afterglow.

"Love, let's go home. Alright?" Syri spoke softly in Alice's ear, coaxing her gently in a bid to make their escape without letting her know a deal had been struck to save her embarrassment. All she had to do was get her out the door and back home and everything would be fine.

Alice felt the soft growl rumble in Syri's chest. She had never heard a threatening one before and so of course chalked it up to her girlfriend being playful and signaling she was ready to go again (rather than thinking there was an intruder right behind her). Hah! Like Alice could go again right away! Maybe with more practice, she would have the stamina to do so. But for now the dragon was content to snuggle and bring her heart rate down from its all time highs. She melted as Syri held her, relishing in the warmth her lover provided. She focused on the wolf's heartbeat, her breathing, and soon found her mind drifting…. 1, 2, 3, 4. 1, 2, 3, 4. . The count went on, slowing as Syri's heart rate came back down to resting. 1…2…3…4… 1…2…3…4...

"Love, let's go home. Alright?" Syri murmured into her ear.

"Mmmm?" Alice hummed as she came back to reality, yawning soon after. She wasn't really sleepy…just warm and snuggly and post-orgasmic tingly; it made for a dragon ready for a meditation that bordered on napping.

"Home sounds like an excellent idea," Alice paused, looking her lover over for a moment before seeming to make up her mind about something. "But I'm driving, and we'll stop and get you a snack on the way home," she smiled and straightened up in Syri's lap, reaching up to comb her fingers through where the wolf's ears had once been. She knew Syri was tough and proud and probably would've pretended that she wasn't absolutely exhausted from fucking Alice AND sustaining a partial transformation for so long….but that was silly! As slightly sore as she felt herself, Alice could more than manage pampering her favorite werewolf for a little bit.

~~~~~~ A Few Weeks Later ~~~~~~~~~
————————-
It was 8am and Jocelyn was drunk.
Well…she was -still- drunk. It wasn't like she had begun her morning day-drinking (she was more respectable than that!) She had just…started drinking last night and then never stopped. Which was fine. Everything was fine. Plenty of people her age drank for hours and hours and it had absolutely nothing to do with broken hearts or displaced plans. She just liked to have fun! Nothing more.
Looking at her slightly disheveled but incredibly overdressed outfit, it became clear that the heiress had been up all night at one of her mother's charity events - still sporting the remnants of an expensive, tailored suit and smelling like a bottle of champagne. Her fitted jacket and skinny tie were elsewhere…and the lipstick along her open neckline signaled that like them, Jocelyn should also be elsewhere. But instead she was here, drunk and disorderly in the lobby of Celare.
And it was all Michelle's fault!!
She had a tried and true process to get over relationships! There was a whole easy to follow step-by-step system in place! And last night she had thought she was on 'hook up with a random hottie' step…but then couldn't bring herself to do it. She couldn't do it! HER! Jocelyn Marrok! Unable to pounce and ravish a beautiful woman!! What the fucking fuck was wrong with her?!?!
She was in such a sour mood that she had thrown the doorman a few feet out of her way when he had tried to bar her entrance into the lobby. Then had punched a security guard right in the nose when the poor man had dared question her. She didn't have time for all this bullshit!
"Where the fuck ish she?!" Jocelyn slurred at the receptionist behind the front desk.
"Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to please calm down," the poor receptionist tried to keep her voice stern, panicked eyes looking for more security guards as she pushed a button under her desk.
"Michelle!!!" Jocelyn hollered, spinning around the lobby to project her voice all over the place, "If you think I don't think you don't wake up at shtupid hours of the morning n' go to work early you are mishtaken-AH!" Jocelyn yelped as she suddenly found herself being tackled by a young guard. The two fell to the ground in an undignified heap. "Get offa me!" Jocelyn snarled, wriggling under the guard as the man tried to subdue her. Maybe if she wasn't so drunk, she'd be able to shake him off, but as she was, she was really struggling as an arm was pulled behind her back.
There was the sound of hurried heels clicking and a polite throat clear, then suddenly Jocelyn felt the weight of the guard come off of her. She blinked, her drunken brain clearly surprised at the turn of events. "Tha's more like it…" she huffed indignantly, wobbling to her feet and brushing off her vest as stood. She turned, about to give the security guard a piece of her mind when she rounded on a familiar face. Michelle was there, looking beautiful as ever… Positively -glowing-.
"Holy shit…you -are- pregnant…" the wolf muttered to herself as she turned white as a sheet and fainted.
Work was the only thing that kept Michelle sane these days. Every moment where she had time to think or caught a few seconds of silence caused her stomach to twist into knots and sent her mind buzzing with things she'd rather not think about. So, she leaned into her hobby turned obsession, pushing her small company as hard as she could and spent countless hours toiling away at new products. She rarely rested, barely took care of herself, and kept her gaze locked onto the distance; the further the better.
If not for the tiny life inside of her, Michelle might very well have worked herself to an early grave in such a short amount of time. But even with all of her frantic working and bad decisions, she drew a line. It was wobbly and teetered on the edge of harmful, but she never strayed over it. Somes things were too precious to risk, even in her current state.
What Michelle didn't expect was that another person shared her same unstable mindset and would come barging into her place of work so early in the morning to cause a scene.
Being informed that her ex was causing a scene in the lobby was not something the alpha saw coming. Since what happened before… Well, Michelle hadn't heard anything from Jocelyn; not really. She thought the other wolf wanted nothing to do with her. It was crushing, but she didn't have the right to be angry.
Michelle did have the right to be angry about what was happening now, though. But, she wasn't. If anything, when she heard about Jocelyn's ridiculous antics, she found herself with a small, hopeful smile on her face. That, mixed with a hefty dose of anxiety, pushed Michelle to walk out of her office as fast as she could; it was just in time to hear Jocelyn get taken down, which made her footsteps speed up all the more.
When she arrived, Michelle instantly remembered herself and shook off the anxious look on her face. Replacing it was calm confidence, such as any leader would want to show to their employees when facing such a scene.
"Ehem."
Right, act like the calm, professional boss they all know.
Easier said than done. The moment she got a good look at Jocelyn, Michelle found herself gulping. Gods help her.
Then she noticed the lipstick, and the feeling of joy already working its way to her lips vanished. Instead, her heart sank, and a dark look clouded her features. It was quite a scary look, but before it could be matched with biting words she wouldn't mean, Jocelyn muttered a few words about her being pregnant and proceeded to faint.
Of course…
Michelle just stood there for a minute, both angry and shocked enough not to panic as Jocelyn fainted. Though, that only lasted long enough for her to release a deep sigh.
"Could a few of you please help carry her to my office?"
How embarrassing. Yes, this is the woman that impregnated me. Yes, she's the heiress of Lykos. No, we're not together. Ugh. Michelle could imagine all the questions running through the heads of anyone lucky enough to witness the stupid scene caused by her ridiculous ex. Fortunately, she hired every member of her staff carefully; it was a necessity considering the fact that she built the company behind her father's back. So the fact that none of it would spread outside company walls was a small mercy, even if she had to suffer their looks afterward.
When they arrived at her office, Michelle pointed at the couch to the side. "Please lay her there. I can take it from there."
"Yes, boss." The younger of the two guards gave Michelle a nod and quickly put Jocelyn down, then retreated with the other guard. He looked strangely proud of himself, though Michelle couldn't tell whether it was because he did his job well or that he managed to take down someone as famous and strong as Jocelyn. Men were weird.
After they left, Michelle released a drawn-out sigh and let her shoulders relax. Finally, boss mode off.
"What am I going to do with you?" she asked as she walked over and moved some hair out of Jocelyn's face. Then she went about making her comfortable. She removed her shoes and socks, tidied her clothes a bit, and covered her with a blanket. She even rummaged up a pillow she used when she worked late.
When all was said and done, Jocelyn looked far more comfortable. Peaceful, too. It was a scene that made Michelle smile, if only for a moment. Then she remembered how Jocelyn got there and found her eyes landing on the lipstick stain again.
"Hmph." Suddenly irritated, Michelle stormed over and pulled the blanket down, then practically ripped the shirt off of her ex, taking it over to the trashcan and shoving it in with a bit more force than she originally intended. Whatever, now it was buried beneath other things!
But before Michelle could sit back down at her desk, her emotions shifted again, and she turned back to look at a now shirtless Jocelyn.
"You're infuriating!" she spat, walking back over and covering her upper body with the blanket once more.
There. Done. Kind of. What if she woke up thirsty?
No, forget her! Michelle hoped she woke up thirsty. Yeah, serves her right. She would just go back to her work and forget about the gorgeous, maybe thirsty wolf sleeping on her couch. The big idiot.
Most of the time Jocelyn was a perfectly fine, rational, intelligent, young werewolf who just liked to go out and have fun in her free time…..but Michelle had her all screwed up. Her shenanigans rarely ever caught the attention of tabloids anymore (though tonight might have broken her streak). Tailspins like this were few and far between…but, well, they were a reminder of how much like Mara she was and why her mother needed an assistant AND a mate in order to function. Jocelyn had acquired the same bad coping mechanisms as her sire: working to exhaustion, followed by drugs, alcohol, and partying until she couldn't feel feelings anymore.
Her friends tried their best to ground her, they really did. But there was only so much anyone could do for the self-destructive young Marrok. She had thought she was all healed up - ready to move on from Michelle or Elle or whatever she wanted to call herself!! …Unfortunately when Jocelyn had been ready to take a very pretty and very eager mage back to her apartment, all she she could think of was stupid Michelle and her stupid gorgeous face and perfect ass and her lies and her cowardice. Putting Jocelyn through all that! Gods, involving her mothers and their entire security team in all that! And then to just run off and leave an afterthought of a note behind.
She had been drunk on champagne and high on soma and -still- hadn't been able to have any fun.
It was little wonder that she had just fainted upon finally confronting Michelle. Drunk, slightly drugged, empty stomach, running on fumes…the realization that her ex was pregnant had just been too much for Jocelyn's poor nervous system. Better to just turn off for a bit and reboot later; hopefully when things were less crazy.
Jocelyn woke up several hours later - not by choice of course, but by necessity. (If she had it her way she probably would've slept until the next morning.) Without the effects of the drugs and alcohol to dull her hunger, her body decided to make it well known that it was displeased with the lack of food and water. Consciousness felt like someone had hit her with a bus. Her head was absolutely killing her, a pain that was made even worse as she opened her eyes and was assaulted by the bright, mid-morning light from an office window. Her knees and elbow hurt (probably from when she had gotten taken to the ground) but she couldn't quite fathom why. Her brain struggled to piece together what on earth was going on…
This was not her apartment.
She was somehow half naked.
Where…where the fuck was her shirt? Had she come here topless?
"Ugghh…" the wolf groaned as she rolled over, coming face to face with an end table of snacks and water. She blinked, eyes refocusing, and saw Elle - Michelle sitting at her desk across the way.
A normal person might be embarrassed that they had caused a massive scene at their ex's place of employment, passed out, and was now being coddled by said ex with snacks and a blanket…but Jocelyn wasn't. In the swirl of emotions that raced around her mind, embarrassment was not one of them. She was torn between wanting to scream at Michelle for being a lying asshole and kissing her (stupid wolf with its stupid desires!)
"I hope you didn't carry me up here on your own," Jocelyn settled for something in the middle: passive aggressive concern. Michelle was strong, easily strong enough to carry Jocelyn, but she damn well better not have in her current condition!
Michelle wanted to have a productive day; she really did. But with Jocelyn asleep on the couch and half naked, she found it impossible. It was to the point that her eyes darted between her work and the couch so often it gave her a headache. Not to mention the constant breaks she took to get a fresh cup of water or another snack to add to the small pile slowly forming on the table. Anything for an excuse to get closer. She even touched her at one point, but it caused Jocelyn to stir, and she hadn’t dared do it a second time.
Plus, the entire situation felt like torture. Jocelyn was in the same room while looking absolutely stunning, but nothing had changed. She still… Michelle had already screwed things up to the point of not knowing how to fix them. It was enough to make her feel hopeless. And yet, she was still happy to see her, even if it hurt.
“I’ve missed you,” Michelle muttered to herself as she gazed longingly across the room. Immediately after she raised her arm and rubbed her eyes, snuffing out the familiar sting of tears making its way to the surface.
Don’t be pathetic.
Michelle knew whose fault it all was, retaining at least enough self-awareness not to act like some victim. Sure, her father was an asshole and she didn’t regret what she did to destroy him, but that didn’t make the rest of it magically fine. She knew it, even if she wished things were different.
After a few deep breaths, the pregnant alpha managed to get a hold on her emotions, a hand slowly running circles over her belly. As emotional as she felt in recent days, the life growing inside of her always provided a source of comfort, bringing a smile to her face in the darkest moments; it did the same now.
Your momma came to visit, so make sure to behave and not make mommy crazy, okay?
Michelle liked to believe the tiny one agreed, though the ridiculous thought made her laugh quietly to herself. Maybe mommy is already crazy.
In the next moment, Michelle froze as a soft groan appeared from the other side of the office. She only managed to regain her senses a moment later, when Jocelyn opened her big dumb mouth! Sleeping Jocelyn was gorgeous and almost cute; awake Jocelyn not so much.
“The security guards that tackled you in the lobby did me a favor and dumped you here.”
Though, I did do the arduous task of making you comfortable.
Michelle silently huffed as her eyes locked onto Jocelyn, creating somewhat of a stalemate as neither of them spoke. Unfortunately, when it came to being stubborn, Jocelyn always won.
“If you want more than snacks, I can have my assistant order something. Though, maybe start with Advil. It’s next to the water,” Michelle said, pointing toward the cup on the table.
While Michelle tried to act normally, she was cheering for herself internally, feeling proud that she managed to act calm and collected when she felt a complete mess inside. Though, that was about all she could manage. After speaking, she instantly lost momentum, not knowing whether to pretend to work or stare at Jocelyn until she said something.
Before anything could happen, though, hurried footsteps appeared outside the door, and quickly after, a woman pushed her way inside.
“That rich suitor called again, and he sent more gifts.”
Before the figure was through the door, she was speaking. Moreover, she didn’t stop immediately, too busy adjusting the files in her hand to notice Jocelyn awake on the couch or see Michelle's horrified look. In fact, she made it halfway toward Michelle’s desk before she looked up and froze in place, her eyes glued to the shirtless alpha sitting to the side.
The young woman completely stalled, not even a single stutter managing to slip through her lips. She simply stared, her cheeks turning a bright pink as she grew increasingly flustered at the sight that greeted her eyes. It was to the point the files in her hands began to slip as her mind wandered and fingers loosened.
“Jennifer!” Michelle’s sharp voice snapped the young woman back to her senses, though Michelle still seemed unsatisfied at her assistant’s absent-minded look.
With a frustrated huff, the pregnant alpha pushed out of her chair and moved across the room, not forgetting to block the young woman’s view before grabbing her by the arm and walking her out the door. She didn’t forget to look menacingly over her shoulder on the way out, either, placing some of the blame on her big dumb gorgeous ex. After all, it definitely wasn’t her fault. Not at all!
Once in the hallway, Michelle gave the young woman another menacing look before snatching away the files in her hand and giving them a once over. When she realized it was nothing urgent, she quickly figured out what was going on.
“Get rid of the gifts, as usual. And stop being such a gossip.” Michelle liked the young woman. She was smart and picked things up quickly. But her desire for gossip constantly got her in trouble around the office, even if she never spread it around outside.
“But the gifts he sent are so…” She wanted to continue but stopped when she noticed Michelle’s dark expression. All she could do was close her mouth and nod her head, agreeing to dispose of them.
“Oh, he also asked you to call. He said something about dinner Saturday at Montrel’s and wanted to know what times worked best.”
Clearly, the young woman was thrilled at the idea of eating at a fancy restaurant, but Michelle continued to glare, only letting up after she nodded again. Then, realizing that Michelle was done talking, the assistant left, though not before taking one last look at the door to Michelle’s office, after which she blushed again and took off as hurriedly as she arrived.
I need a new assistant.
Michelle sighed, then turned around and went back into her office, appearing every bit the professional as she tidied her clothing and walked over to Michelle.
“Plan on eating something, or should I just call someone to come get you?”
