Continuing to watch Rowan walk off with Ariel, Val turned and placed her fingertips along the counter that Miranda leaned against. Her blue eyes drifted toward a tray of metal chains, immediately perking up realizing they had Alan wrench screw locks on the chains. Pointing at a silver colored one, Val shifted her eyes toward Miranda. "I would like one of those that is 14 inches long."
"Sure." Miranda pushed away from the counter and unlocked the case, checking the tags on the necklaces before pulling one out. "This should be a 14 inch one. You know how it works, right?"
"Yes, I do." Val smiled as she held the chain, admiring the sturdiness of the links. While the chain she had purchased was sufficient, it didn't lock like this one did. She wanted Rowan's day collar to be permanent while also being elegant. "I would still like a key for it, so I wear it in kind."
"Oh, totally." Miranda smirked a bit, running her thumb across her upper lip. "I mean, we gotta remind them who's in charge, right?" Both women smirked at one another, chuckling lightly.
"Indeed." Turning to look at Rowan disappearing into the changing area, Val turned to look at the other items in the store with a careful glance.
"You know, I think I remember you." Miranda spoke with a curious tone, shifting her gaze at Val. "Didn't you come in here a long ass time ago, wearing camo pants with a green-haired girl?"
"Probably." Looking back at Miranda, Val shifted uncomfortably as she handed the necklace back over so it could be set aside for her.
"So... This is your new girl?"
"Yes." Keeping her response short, Val turned away from the counter and walked along it, approaching a rack of leather collars.
"Ended badly I take it?" Following after Val, Miranda shifted her gaze up along the blonde, knowing full well she was probing into unwanted territory.
"Yes." Val didn't look at Miranda as she spoke, her fingers idly touching the long straps of leather. "She decided to go off with 'Master Chaste', if you're familiar with who that is."
"UGH!" Miranda rolled her eyes, biting at her nails. "Yes, I know exactly who he is." Pausing for several moments, Miranda eventually pointed at the collars and tugged at one. "It's good you didn't let that destroy your ego. He's a prick."
"I know."
