Lin tugged on her belt. It wouldn't stay in place. If only she could use the fabric tape on it. She pushed the bangs of her hair out of her face for a moment so she could see the adjustments she was trying to make. Pulling the belt into place, she tossed her hair over her shoulder. Taking a look at her costume in the mirror, she did a once over. Everything was in place. Walking to the door of the hotel room, she grabbed her badge and her room key. Calling to her roommates who were in the bathroom getting ready, she opened the door.
"I'll meet you guys at the cafe for lunch, ok?" she said, pushing the door open. She didn't wait for a reply from her friends. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes and thinking hard on the character. Popping her neck, she opened her eyes, seeming to be a different person. Taking a bit of a longer stride, her hips swaying, she lifted her head, look proud. Her shoulders were slightly pushed back, her face nearly blank. For a normally hyper person, she look very different to anyone who knew her.
Pushing the button for the elevator, she took another deep breath. This cosplay was going to take a lot of focus. The wooden sword that she had worked on for months was heavy. The weight pulled her down ever so slightly, taking away a bit of her height. Her eyes jumped to the light as the elevator dinged. Looking at the doors, she glared at the people who were in there. They all stepped back, like she was going to strike them and as she stepped in, turning her back to them a small smile slipped on her face.
