I am thinking of something similar, don't get me wrong. I honestly think I just need a stronger drive and perhaps more of a railroady beginning for my next one.

No, you're fine. It's the normal thing for groups, unfortunately. Last night, another new group died when all the players except me said they were too busy to continue after only 3 posts. Maybe a little more group-planning before playing to try and weed out the 2-post players before we actually go IC.
