So essentially I have been running a Nuzlocke challenge in Pokemon SoulSilver, and I thought it would be a fun idea to write it up as a story. I will be adding details as we go through to keep it more thematically appropriate.

Rules
  • When a Pokemon faints, it is dead and can no longer be used
  • Only the first seen Pokemon can be caught on each Route/Area
  • If the first Pokemon in an area is already owned, then the next Pokemon will be available (Dupes Clause)
  • If the party wipes, the trainer faints, and so is also dead.
  • Starter Pokemon are chosen via the trainer card method (1-3 Chikorita, 4-6 Cyndaquil, 7-9 Totodile, 0 is free choice.)
And without much more to do, lets get on with the story.

This is my second run of this game. The first had a Chikorita as a starter and the run ended at Falkner, hence the 'dream' at the start of the story.

Oak's dialogue is mostly unchanged, the damn thing creeped me out, hence why it was portrayed as such.

Current Team

In Party

CRAIG (Quilava)
Midge (Sentret)
Corrine (Pidgey)
Joan Jett (Geodude)
Weedzle (Kakuna)
Catherine (Rattatta)

Day One

Bexi awoke with a start. She had been in the middle of exciting dream as a Pokemon Trainer, when it had all gone south very quickly. She already couldn't remember much, except a man in what looked like pajamas killing all her friends and throwing her off of a high platform. Though her mind was hazy on the details, she could remember the names of each of her friends clearly, the image of each of their faces as the life slipped away from them burned into her memory.

She got up, and struggled over to the bathroom, splashing her face with water as she looked over her tired visage in the mirror. As she swept her blonde highlighted locks away from her face, she wondered whether or not it was foreshadowing from a greater power. After all, Elm had called her to carry out a few tasks for him, which could only mean she was setting out on her own adventure. she was leaving nearly a decade later than her peers, a few weeks before her 18th birthday, but that had to be what she was being called out for. After all, so many of her neighbors had gone out into the world after Elm had called on them.

She decided to shower, trying to shunt the foreboding nature of her nightmare from her mind as the water cascaded over her naked frame. She remained under the flow of water until the water turned cold, forcing her to step out and get dressed. She was one who liked to go out with a bit of flair, choosing a flamboyant outfit to match her personality, plenty of lavender and frills to match the highlights in her long blonde locks.

She happily left home, and made her way to Elm's laboratory to start the rest of her life.

Elm seemed to be quite flustered, running around his laboratory with the energy of someone a fraction of his age. Bexi was a little startled to say the least, but approached slowly, clearing her throat. With that Elm stopped in his tracks, looking up like a startled Rattata.

"Ahh, Bexi!" He said with an unnatural speed. "No time to wait, here's a Pokemon, you'll like him. A Cyndaquil if you must ask. Oh and a Pokedex. Go west out of town. Mr. Pokemon has an egg for me. Go... Gogogogogogo." He said, pushing her back out of the door that she came in from almost as quickly as she had entered.

"Oh, he needs a name... got a name?" He blurted out as soon as they entered the doorway out into New Bark Town.

"CRAIG!" Bexi yelled, hoping that she could get a word in edgewise, before he started yammering once again.

"CRAIG!?" He said loudly in the same tone that she did. "An odd name, but fine. Just go, get me my egg!"

Baffled and a little spun around, Bexi ended up heading out into the wild world, Craig at her side. The little Cyndaquil seemed to be able to hold his own, roasting Pidgeys and Sentrets by the truckload as they made their way through Route 29.

She didn't waste any time stopping along the way. She just kept herself moving forward until she found a house alone at the north of Route 30. She took a deep breath, and went inside, hoping for the best. Assuming that this was the eponymous Mr. Pokemon's House.

She entered the home without knocking, meaningless platitudes like that seemingly lost on her. As the door opened, the youthful teen was greeted by the sight of two much older men hunched over a cream egg speckled with green spots, both staring at it wordlessly.

All eyes turned to her as she entered. The two older men drinking in her flamboyant clothes and slender teenage body.

Bexi was encouraged to take a seat by Mr. Pokemon, the old man introducing himself as such. He was clearly starved for attention, spoiled for choice with two visitors in one day, brewing a pot of tea.

The other older guy stayed silent, listening to Mr. Pokemon retelling stories of his youth. As the stories continued, Bexi saw nothing to indicate why in a world full of these creatures they called Pokemon, this guy had the moniker Mr. Pokemon.

After much time, he finally stopped his stroll down memory lane, Bexi getting up to leave, having wasted far too much time here anyway. It was then that the other gentleman finally said something.

"I'm Professor Oak, a Pokemon researcher..." Bexi just sighed, seemingly done with this errand already. "... and you're Bexi. I was just visiting my friend Mr. Pokemon. I heard you were running an errand for Professor Elm, so I waited here."

He walked up behind her and flipped up her skirt, a devious grin on his face. "Oh, what's this? A rare Pokemon?" He said twanging her fluorescent green thong. "Not bad. Though not quite in keeping with your aesthetic..."

"You seem quite dependable, would you like to help me out?" He added. Then, with a swiftness that could only be described as Raikou-esque, he tugged down the item of clothing and bent her forward, slipping his wrinkled cock deep within what he found.

"I can see why Professor Elm gave you that Pokemon!" He grunted, holding her down, her breasts mashed against the table as he held himself deep within her.

By this point Mr. Pokemon turned away, a look of guilt on his face as the renowned professor forced himself onto the young woman.

Bexi struggled against him, but it was no use. Oak clearly had done this before, where she had no experience in these matters. It hurt. A lot. The elderly man spitting at her exposed rear, only occasionally getting it to where he wanted to use it. It didn't take long for him to spew forth inside of her. But for Bexi, every second felt like an eternity.

"Here's a Pokedex, it's a high tech encyclopedia." He said tossing the item next to her as he tucked himself back in, the blonde lying exhausted in a pool of her own tears and sweat. "Go use that Pokedex and meet many kinds of Pokemon. But I've stayed too long. I've got to get to Goldenrod for my radio show." He added, already moving towards the door as Bexi lie there.

"Bexi... I get the feeling that this isn't the last time we'll meet. At least I hope not." He grabbed her PokeGear. "Let's exchange numbers, just to be safe." He added, that menacing grin back on his wrinkled face before leaving confidently, a whistle in the air and an undeserved bounce in his elderly gait.

As she watched him go, only one thought crossed her mind. To get stronger. To Kill Samuel Oak.

Bexi felt vulnerable, she felt broken, disgusting. Even with a witness, nobody was going to believe that the high and mighty Professor Oak was the one who did this to her. She was in a no win situation, but even subconsciously, she had realized this from the outset.

Walking out of the old man's home, her legs barely able to support herself, she called out her Pokemon and spoke to CRAIG about what had happened and what she intended to do. In her mind, her Pokemon were the only friends she could rely on. People couldn't be trusted, not the way she was now anyway. She needed to become stronger. No. They needed to become stronger.

CRAIG wasn't really sure what the human was talking about as he walked alongside her, but listened nonetheless. He was a loyal friend after all, and kind of liked the trainer.

A red haired individual ran into the distracted Bexi, sending her careening to the floor. She was already in a foul mood, but this wasn't something she was going to let slide. It seemed that the feeling was mutual, the red haired youth calling out a small blue alligator that stood on his hind legs, a very menacing look in the Pokemon's eyes.

Bexi called for CRAIG to tackle the opposing Pokemon. The two creatures fiercly battling for their trainers and their lives. CRAIG didn't seem to be too into the fight in itself, but the opposite true for the Totodile he was fighting against. CRAIG paused for a moment, looking back at his trainer, having been through her own struggles today.

Though he was battered and bruised, CRAIG let out a final wisp of flame. The totodile laughed, but in it's hubris forgot to dodge, becoming engulfed in flame.

The red haired boy just tutted, calling back and running off, leaving his card in front of the young female trainer completely by accident. Not even an official Pokemon league trainers card, it was just a white piece of paper with his name and self appointed job title: "Lee Nova, Pokemon Guy".

Thankful to CRAIG for protecting her, Bexi decided that it was best to go home, and call it a day.

Day 2

Bexi awoke from her sleep at home with her Cyndaquil, CRAIG, snuggled onto her chest. It was so surreal to awake and find that the events of the day prior had actually happened, that it wasn't some kind of sordid nightmare. She lay there for a moment, looking at the ceiling of her childhood bedroom, the Galarian Ponyta decals still stuck up there. Life had always seemed so simple, that at some point she would leave home with a Pokemon and see the wide world out there. But it obviously wasn't as simple as that. There were bad people out there, and even with Pokemon by her side, the world was a dangerous place. At least she had a goal for now. With her and CRAIG intending to scour the world until it was done.

She got dressed once again, deciding to go for the same outfit once again and packing the three other spare identical outfits into her bag. She wasn't a dirty girl by any means, but it was normal for individuals around here to be identified by what they were wearing.

As she left her home, she noticed a police officer outside Elm's Pokemon laboratory, the ground nearby covered in shattered glass. Honestly, Bexi was surprised that she hadn't noticed it on her way home. But then again, her mind had really been through the ringer at that point and she'd had some time to decompress.

The police officer gave her a look as she started to walk past and yelled at her: "Anything to confess!?" in an accusatory tone. She wasn't in the mood for all the mess, her hardened heart only focused on one thing.

She flashed her trainer card that she kept stored in her bra, showing that she had received CRAIG legitimately before handing over the scrawled piece of paper she had found after the red haired boy attacked her. "I get the feeling that he's your culprit." She said dismissively, pointing at some scrawl on the wall saying Nova Rules. At this point she really was glad that she hadn't reported what had happened to the authorities, the incompetence of the Johto Police force glaringly obvious.

The investigating officer simply blushed a shade of crimson unseen on a human before, handing over a small package of Pokeballs. "Keep quiet about this..." He said, the gift quite clearly a bribe for her silence as well. 'Crooked too' Bexi thought to herself as she took the package. After all, there was over 1000 Poke worth of merchandise there that she really couldn't pass up.

"Remember the rules. One capture per route. We're trying to protect the ecosystem here..." He said as Bexi turned her back, heading out onto the grassy area that was Route 29.

Bexi stood facing the expanse of grass between her home and the rest of the wide world. It was finally hitting home what she intended to do. She looked back over her shoulder at New Bark Town, knowing that if she were to succeed that she could never return home again. After all, rapist or not, Samuel Oak was a respected man, and the whole world would be looking for his killer.

She looked down fondly at CRAIG, the only being she could trust right now. He returned her worried stare with a goofy grin, showing that he was ready (or at least oblivious) to whatever came upon them on their journey.

Her resolve re-invigorated, Bexi took three steps into the grass when a Sentret reared up and attacked. Reflexively, CRAIG ambled along in front of her, knowing it was his duty to protect Bexi from harm. He charged into the attacking Pokemon, knocking it back off of its tail as Craig's body rolled off to the side.

Bexi knew that it was now or never, tossing one of her ill-gotten gains at the small Pokemon. The ball hit the creature dead center of its dartboard like stomach, the creature disappearing in a flash of red light. The ball shook wildly, the Pokemon vying for it's freedom before... nothing. The ball was still and the air was quiet. CRAIG nuzzling the ball with his snout before returning to his trainer's side.

Bexi had thought her approach through on how she would remember what was inside each ball. After all, it was so difficult to identify each ball by look alone. She knew some trainers who could do it well, but that really wasn’t her goal here. She had more important things to think about. Pulling a marker from her bag, she simple wrote upon the ball ‘Midge’ before locking it to a Kamarband made of stainless steel she wore around her waist.

With CRAIG still in tow, Bexi made her way through to Cherrygrove city once again. Just being in the town made her chest tight, the memories of what happened just beyond the city limits making her anxious. She was torn between her thirst for revenge and her unwillingness to move forward, pacing back and forth in front of the Pokemon Center trying to decide whether or not to turn back and call the whole thing a wash.

CRAIG could see the indecisiveness and fear in his trainer’s eyes. After having seen such resolve in her up to this point he knew that he had to do something. He walked behind her, shunting her with his head, refusing to let her turn back until she managed to take that first step onto Route 30. He understood that whatever she was feeling must have been dreadful, but he also knew that if he let her turn back, she’d just stew over it at home. He had to be the helping hand that let her carry out her plan.

The young woman was a complete wreck by this point, only moving forward by the force of CRAIG’s constant nudging. She shuffled along, fighting back the tears from fear, refusing to make eye contact with anyone.

Bexi, with legs still trembling, finally was nudged into the forested area of Route 30. By the time she had realized, she was already knee deep in the tall grass, CRAIG panting heavily from the exertion. She may not have been a particularly heavy girl, but he was still small, and ended up hunched over leaning against her calf.

After all CRAIG had gone through, the budding young trainer looked over behind her at the tired Pokemon. She realized, although a little too late, that he was only looking out for her best interests, forcing her through her fear was his way of trying to help. After all, she wasn't naturally afraid of being outside, she was afraid of running into him again. It didn't ease her fear, but it did help to put it all into perspective.

She picked up the panting Pokemon with a sigh, walking on with trembling feet. After all, if she was going to wage a war she was going to need an army.

With Craig in tow, she set about collecting her teammates as she made the perilous trek towards Violet city. It was a fairly uneventful walk, but it did introduce a few new friends to the team. Corrine the Pidgey on
Route 30, Joan Jett the Geodude in Dark cave and Weedzle the Weedle was caught on Route 31.

As she took her first steps into Violet, Bexi felt quite accomplished with herself for having made it this far. She had a team of five already, and although they were mostly wet behind the ears, so was she, and they were going to get stronger together.

Bexi and her newfound team of friends was really exhausted by the time they reached Violet City. But the novice trainer did not want to rest just yet. The sun was still high in the sky, and the adrenaline was still pumping through her system. She needed to explore more.

CRAIG was still standing by her side, her new friend Weedzle curled up on her shoulder. She looked to both of them and the looming tower in the centre of town, both of them seemingly agreeing with her that she should press forward.

Determined, and with her friends in tow, she made strides through the town, her reasonably glower demeanour and her flamboyant looks were definitely getting her some unwanted attention for a myriad of reasons.

The tower itself did not seem stable in the slightest as she approached, derelict and leaning in the wind. It almost gave her a second thought about what was happening, until Weedzle nudged the back of her head with its tail, angrily goading her into continuing after coming this far. CRAIG wasn't so sure, there was something about the tower that unsettled the small flame-echidna, agreeing with his trainers decision.
