A Shared Dream (Gambuiness and Gunner)

''You did what gently?'' he asked her with a bewildered look on his face after she told him, that she chastised Skyriul ... gently. Slowly he began to really believe, that Elis world really is a version of his world, just a couple hundred years earlier.

He listened closely to what she was saying but had no idea about, how he should react to it. It was definetly too late to start with any formalities though he couldn't help but to grin at her. ''So ... should I then call you Your highness from now on?'' he giggled a bit at the thought, that he would call her anything else but Eli or Elishan. It took him a moment to fully comprehend everything she said. He was talking with the ruler of their world, the person who decides which way to go, the person being responsible for so many lifes. So he was surprised when it didn't changed the way he looked at her. He got to know her as a kind and nice person, with whom he had a great time and that showed him, what this all was about ... and that he liked to spend time with. She and his own curiosity where the main reasons, why he had decided to return here.

''Let's agree on, that we both made a mistake. What happened has happened and we can't change that know. I just hope, that you weren't too hard on Skyriul. I will try to hold back a bit more when people are around and when you think, that I need to know something to act accordingly, you let me know.'' Her hand still on his arm, he moved a bit so that she could hook up with her arm holding on to his as they started to walk a bit. The small river, he had created last time was still there and they walked side by side next to it.

''It is...'' he confirmed when she mentioned that this must be a lot to take in for him. ''but to be honest, my curiosity about he way your world functions and about this whole situation with being able to engage with each other during dreams is too big as that I could just ignore it, because I don't understand it all.'' Matt stopped walking and turned his face to her. ''You surely got a lot to do with all the duties that are expected from you. But I would really like to learn more about this all, the realm, your world, your society and you.'' The last thing he mentioned came out of his mouth before he had really thought it through. He felt his ears getting red but somehow managed to keep his eyes on her.

"Chastised?" She replied quizzically. Perhaps a word that meant something different to Matt's people. "As in...scolded? Chided? I was...displeased he brought you to such a place but I also know he was merely trying to assist. I could hardly be fully irate with him," she ended with a light laugh. Skyriul had been a constant companion, friend, and confidant for as long as she could remember despite his twenty years advance of her.

Eli smirked some at his question. Call her your highness. "Well it would only be proper," she said with a faux haughty sniff before lapsing into a short fit of giggles. "But it would be your Majesty, if we are splitting hairs. Highness is reserved for princes and princesses. Eli is fine, however. I've tried to insist the nobility address me as such but," she gave an exaggerated sighing shrug, "they will not relent. Old habits die slow deaths after all." It would be refreshing to have someone, just one person, treat her without so much deference. Of course she understood why she should demand she be treated as her rank but it was rather annoying.

Matt's offer to assume a portion of blame was sweet. A gentle, good natured smile bloomed on her face. She could hardly blame him for not knowing, the fault was hers and perhaps a little with Skyriul. Even still it spoke a great deal of his character. While he had acted rashly he recognized the error and owned to it. There were plenty of nobles twice, even thrice, his age that would not so readily admit fault as such. She let him redirect her hand a little, crooking his arm so she could hold it as they started walking down the gentle river. It was truly a wonder to spend time in a scape not dealing with the squabbling and odious matters she always dealt with.

Her green eyes lifted to Mat as he continued on. His curiosity of the realm and how her people utilized it. A felt a small pang of sadness as he seemed to think it best to simply return and stay in his own scape, far away from it all. She could understand the sentiment, dealing with affairs of state in the Realm only to return to them in the waking world could be tedious. Though her expression lightened as he reversed track and spoke of wanting to know more. The smile only broadened at the end. Know more about her. "I too am curious about your own world. We have spent much time discussing mine I know little to nothing about yours save the...very odd garments you appear to wear," she said with a teasing laugh and plucking at the sleeve of his t-shirt. "How about we strike a deal then? We shall alternate days. I must return and handle the nobles this night but I shall tell them that every other night I shall be away to learn of the new dreamer and his waking world. It is always a source of curiosity when new dreamers enter the realm. Alternatively, on the other days you may accompany me to court. I cannot guarantee it will be exciting or interesting but it is how you might learn more of our people and our ways."

The smile on her face as well as her mentioning his odd clothing brought a smile to his face as well. ''Okay, let's make a deal. Please just make sure, that I don't hold you away from important things you have to do. I'll show you my world and I attend your court meetings, to learn about how your world and how it functions.'' The idea was great and he made himself a mental note, to begin with showing her things from his world, that would be fun. Somehow he was under the impression, that fun was something, that she didn't had too much of. Her duties surely don't just catch up to her during the nights but also during the daytime.

He stopped walking and turned around to her. For a moment he just looked at her and felt happy that she was just as interested in doing things together, as he was. ''It's a shame that our time today is limited but I am very glad, that we two will see each other again. I can't wait to show you things from my world and to see you handling the nobles at court.'' Time was not on their side today but the outlook towards the next nights, where he could spend time with her was enough and more than he could have hoped for, after what recently happened. ''Then I hope, that your meeting today goes well and ... I am really looking forward to tomorrow. I just hope, that the nobles agree to your idea. Good luck Eli, bye.''

After they said their goodbyes, he began right away to think about things he could show her. If his assumption is right and her world resembles his from a few hundred years ago, then she probably had no idea what elctrecity is or all the other things, that were invented over time. That brought him to a idea, how he would show her things from his world, things that could be fun.

During his next day he was in high spirits and looking very much forward to his time with Eli. He even was looking forward to the court meetings since he would get a chance to see how her world functions and if he was honest with himself, he couldn't wait to see this other side of her as well, her being the queen of her people. The thought somehow still hasn't really set in since the woman he had met didn't resemble his idea of a queen though ... that was rather positive in his eyes.

The next night he began to create the scenerie, he had in his mind. It began with a long road. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. Right and left from it was a green meadow and in the middle of the road stood a car. It was a Shelby Cobra his favorite car since forever. If his assumption was right, then she would have no idea what a car is and he wanted to show her, how people in his world are travelling. In addition, he had planned to show her things from his world on a road trip, where they reach certain destinations where he would show her something new. Just like the last time, he created a copy of himself and used the cloak to disguise himself while he stood on the other side of the car.

"I know, I am sorry," she said with an apologetic frown. She would love nothing more than to spend more time with Matt and learn of his world. Eli knew her duties though, she could not abandon her people for frivolity. Everyone had their place and, by sheer coincidence of her birth, her place was leading her people. It was the burden of royalty after all. One's own wants and needs pushed aside for the good of the kingdom. Matt didn't seem too put off that today would be a day she had to attend court. They would begin the next night. Eli's smile returned for him and she gave a nod. "I look forward to it as well. I shall see you then." With a polite bowing of her head she vanished from that spot to attend to her duties.

The nobility were scandalized that she would be doing anything but holding court the next night. This had been the way for generations! Eli brooked no argument with them. They would have to manage. After all, had they not been bemoaning her ascension just recently? They had claimed that a child should not rule them. Of course, the ascension of a new king or queen had been their way for generations as well. Of course they would only choose now to bemoan the idea. Once the nobles settled Eli was quick to handle the matters of the day with them. With the promise of something different and exciting the next night she felt far more motivated to resolve issues with well reasoned haste.

The next night Eli opened her eyes in the Realm. She took a long, deep breath. For a moment she had to savor the feeling of freedom. An eve in the Realm that didn't involve the droning politics of her home. Eli entered Matt's scape. The beautiful meadow stretched out before her though with an utter curiosity in the center. For a moment she completely forgot she was supposed to be meeting Matt. The large metal....thing sat there gleaming like a black diamond in the sun. She slowly approached it, certain it wasn't a living thing but cautious all the same. It was only when she was within half a foot of the thing did she remember Matt should be around as well.

"Matt? Are you here?" She called out.
