A Ranger's Journey.

She sighed and tried to move closer to him as she felt a slight chill. She opened her eyes to see him gone, but she wasn’t worried. He would probably be back in a short time. She sat up and waited for him to come back to the cave. She hadn’t expected to see him come back with a buck, so when he carried it back in, she smiled, her eyes wide. “What is this, Midnight? I don’t think you and I could quite eat all of it...”

He looked at the dear then at her nuzzling her softly. It was something of a point of pride that he had taken it down alone and he wanted his mate to approve. He knew that as a elf she didnâ??t like her food uncooked and had even developed a taste for the seasonings himself. He waited looking at her expectedly.

The girl smiled and rubbed his ears, trying to tell him that she was very impressed with him. "I'm lucky I have a big, strong wolf as a mate, aren't I?" She quickly got up to get some fire wood and wild herbs that she could cook with the meat. Once she came back with a good amount of wood, and a pocketful of herbs, she quickly moved to start the fire, and skin the large buck. She would save the hide, antlers and hooves to sell at the next town they went by. When she had skinned the whole dear, she kissed Midnight's head and started to cut pieces of the meat off, preparing it with the herbs so they could enjoy it.

He waited patiently at the mouth to the cave waiting for her to finish with the meat. He was anxious to get a move on and find the herb knowing that it would finally allow him to express himself to her the way that he really wanted too, in her words. He smelled the food and turned back to the fire and growled softly nuzzling up close beside her making his love for her as obvious as he could.

Kayla smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing his muzzle tenderly. One hand moved up to absently stroke his ears, enjoying his closeness. Once the meat was finished cooking, she smiled and pulled it out of the fire, giving him a good portion of it so he could get his fill before they set off on the rest of the journey to the plant. She started nibbling on her meal, enjoying just how good it tasted.

He nuzzled in closer growling. He took the food and chewed on it lustily almost as much lust as he had originally given to her last night but not quite. He finished quickly waiting for her to finish her food before he stood up and moved over near the mouth to the cave and looked back at her growling softly before he barked once.

She quickly ate the last few bites that remained when he growled and barked, and stood, gathering her belongings. She carried what remained of the carcass over her shoulder, as well as the hide. The antlers and hooves were wrapped and stuffed in her pack. She doused the flames quickly and moved to her lover's side. "Someone's rather impatient."

As she moved up to his side he looked at her for a moment before he started off into the woods. His ears were perked scanning for that noise that had spooked him not long ago causing him to bark to make her hurry. He was low to the ground and his entire body read of tension and carefulness if Kayla noticed.

She noticed that her mate was very tense, and she started looking around also, worried about missing anything that could be very crucial to their survival. Her sharp eyes watched the surrounding bushes and trees, while her ears heard every twig snap and bush rustle from a passing creature. She silently took her bow off of her back, and fitted an arrow to the bowstring, keeping it ready if she needed to use it.

He growled lightly not sure what was setting him on edge but there was something different about this part of the woods. His head snapped around thinking he had seen movement in the hedge but there was nothing. Looking back forward his eyes caught small mote of what seemed to be light floating down from the trees around them.

Kayla still followed him, seeing the eerie, yet beautiful glow through the trees. It drew her into the area, and she couldn't help herself. Her fingers trailed through the fur on Midnight's head and brushed over his ears as she moved past him. It didn't seem possible for the young elf to resist moving toward that part of the forest.

Midnight stayed beside her even though he was unsure about it. he sniffed lightly looking around it seemed like there was something coming, but he couldnâ??t put a finger on what it was, it smelledâ?¦good. Not in a food good kind of way but a way that was saying what it was not how it tasted. His ears perked forward as a tall white majestic animal came forward a single horn in its forehead.

Kayla felt another presence nearby, and chills rippled over her arms and down her spine. The area was strangely pure, completely untainted by anything evil or any taint that human technology had had on the world. She figured there was only one kind of creature that could have kept this portion of the forest so pure. Suddenly, her suspicions were confirmed, and she saw the figure she expected before them. It was a large unicorn, and even the elf was astounded. It was so rare for creatures like them to make themselves known even to elves. She quickly dropped to her knees and gasped, wanting to give him the respect he deserved.

Midnight bowed his head also knowing a king of the wood when one was in his presence. The Unicorn came forward noting the postures of the two and nodded slowly in deference to the honor showed. â??Daughter of the wood what brings you to my grove?â? the voice was not spoken but clearly heard making it clear it was magic projected into her mind.

The girl smiled sweetly, coming up from her bow. She still refused to meet his eyes, knowing that he was far better than either of them were worthy. "I...well...we wish to use one herb that grows only in this area of the forest, under your jurisdiction, my lord." She glanced down at Midnight and stroked his ears absently. "We would love to be able to speak to each other and understand one another."

He smiled nodding slowly, though it was a unicorn smile that seemed to only be in the eyes rather then the mouth. â??I understand I assume you are a newly paired ranger and animal companion.â? He more stated than asked them. â??I am more than willing to allow you to have it but there is a price that comes with it.â? Midnight cocked his head to one side afraid he knew where this unicorn was going with this â??priceâ?.

She bit her lip when she heard him mention a price for the little plant. Her fingers rubbed Midnight's ears absently, the soft fuzz on them a little more relaxing to the young elf. She could feel Midnight become a little tense beside her, and even rubbing his ear stopped helping her relax. "The other ranger didn't mention a price. What kind of price are we talking about?"

There was something that didnâ??t fit but Midnight couldnâ??t put his paw on it. the unicorn nodded, â??She wouldnâ??t because of what it is. Come with me daughter of the woods and I will tell you the price but your companion must remain here for this is for your ears only.â? He turned as if to go deeper into the woods hardly waiting for her.

She glanced down at Midnight and bit her lip, not knowing what to do. From the wolf's reaction, she could only guess what the unicorn wanted. She knew she trusted Midnight completely, but would he trust her, especially after this? She sighed and bent down to kiss her companion before moving to follow after the unicorn.

The unicorn moved quickly through the forest quickly leaving midnight behind. He led her to a glade and turned back to her his eyes looking over her body and moving closer nuzzling against her neck. â??now for the priceâ?¦you must mate with me for me to give you the flower.â?

She whimpered softly, not liking being so far from her wolf. She had wanted to stay with him, and she didn't know what to do with another male who wanted to mate with her. She bit her lip and blushed. "I-uh-wait..y-you want me to mate with you?" She whimpered and looked down at her feet.

He started to move closer brushing his side up against her body. His mouth nibbled at her clothes nickering lightly. â??Yes just like you would with your wolf companion. That is the price of speaking with him. if you want to be able to then you will do it.â? he moved so she could see that he was getting hard his cock already half the size of Midnightâ??s.

She whimpered and shivered, beyond reluctant to do this, even for the chance to be able to speak to and understand Midnight. It seemed like a high price, not only would she no longer belong completely to Midnight, but she doubted Midnight would trust her ever again when he smelled the unicorn on her. She bent over, whimpering softly as she lifted her skirt up. She was worried. She didn't want to lose her lover, even for this opportunity.

The unicorn moved over her its hard cock brushing against her pussy as it positioned itself to take her. nuzzling against her neck the rock hard tip of the unicorn pressing against her. â??Here I come.â? The unicorn drew its cock back ready to plunge it deep into her exposed pussy and be the second cock that had invaded her.

She whimpered and bit her lip, but she couldn't possibly go through with it. "No!" She moved out from underneath him and stood, looking him in the eye. "No. I-I can't. I can't possibly betray my lover's trust." She turned her back on the unicorn and bit her lip, walking back out to Midnight. She wasn't going to sacrifice the fact that she belonged to Midnight just to be able to speak to him. She was prepared to just leave with him.
