Kevin took one, completely avoiding her as he walked past. He sat in his seat, staring at the poem without reading it

"Aftern--" She started to say to him but he simply walked on. he bit her lower lip and swallowed hard and let him go on. it hurt a little bit. She'd be honest about that. But who was she to talk? she ditched him and went and had sex with Matthew.

Kevin sighed as he sat there, depressed. He waited for class to start because the sooner it started, the sooner it would be over and the sooner he would be able to leave.

As class started, Hayden did the usual and it was obvious something was missing from her usual charisma. Once it ended though, even she seemed just as excited for it to be. She sat on her desk and just went over some things.

Kevin slowly stood up and looked at his teacher. He stood there, letting the other students exit before he walked up to her"Hayden?"

hayden looked up and then at him. She bit her lower lip and swallowed hard. "Y-Yes?"

He bit his lip a little"I'm sorry about what happened"

Hayden bit her lower lip. she wanted to just play it off but she didn't. "Don't worry about it. I shouldn't have run..."

He looked at her"I shouldn't have scared you like that"he said, wanting her back.

"You didn't. I just don't know why you would love me. I mean that's like impossible..." She said looking at him.

he chuckled a little at that"It's never impossible to love someone"he replied

"But I'm serious. I make myself unlovable because I am scared to love." She's loved once and look how great that turned out. He left her alone in this world. Died. Gone. Left...

He frowned a little at that and moved around the desk"What happened?"He asked, able to tell she was sad.

Hayden sighed softly and she sat back. "He died." She said looking away. "He said he'd get better and that he wouldn't leave me but he did. I know it's not his fault but it hurts. we were engaged and we were going to get married once he made remission but he never did. He died in his sleep and I never got to say bye and just..." she shook her head and breathed hard.

He pulled her gently into his arms gently"Oh. I'm sorry"He said, rubbing her back gently

Hayden shook her head. "It's been almost a year. I won't lie, I'm not exactly over it but I still think it's impossible for anyone else to love me." She said quietly.

He kissed her forehead gently and held her still"Shush We an talk more about it later"He said, wanting to hold her

Hayden nodded and she nuzzled her face into his neck. She held onto him tightly, liking this a lot.

He rubbed her back gently and kissed her cheek softly.

And then it hit her that they were still at school and this was technically still wrong. Pulling back, she patted his arms. "Thanks." She said gently.

He smiled at her and gave her a light kiss"I'll go to my place"

"Want me to meet you there?" She asked softly.

He nodded and smiled at her"Sound's like an idea"He teased

"See you." She smiled softly, letting him go.

He kissed her and then left, getting his things and heading home in his car
