This is a frightening world you are stumbling upon. It was once considered beautiful, but ever since something strange happened, civilizations started to become more seperate, more walled. Cities that were once interconnected were interconnected no more.

What's outside these walls, you ask?

A threat more frightening than your usual wild, feral monster. Heck - wild feral monsters are more of a rarity these days, if they do still exist. The real challenge these days are monsters that have been affected by Lilith energy, which has became widespread.

Lilith energy exists in the air, water and everywhere, and while all beings are affected by it, monsters require the least amount of it among all beings to fully transform into a Lilim - a monster that has been transformed into the shape of a human female, altered in the way that they seek human men to reproduce. Additionally, many have their intelligence boosted to levels that are comparable to humans, where even the dumber ones know how to speak, use tools and fight with some measure of strategy. Lilim in their early stages do not present these traits, and are indinstinguishable from regular monsters of the same stage.

Monster Tamers and Familiar-bound Wizards were once a rare job held by those who knew the trade and tricks well, but ever since it happened, they have been requested to mentor new generations on the ways, where they eventually became indistinguishable in the form of Lilim Contractors. What were once jobs meant solely for combatants was a single job and now more spread, in which Lilim Contractors are more often delivery-people, with adventurers being the minority among them.

These are what our characters are - Lilim Contractors who, at first work as delivery people living in Rustic Town, until one of them realizes that someone needs to get out there and put a stop to this, maybe even reverse it.

Terminology

Lilith Energy
Among all beings to be affected by Lilith energy, from most affected(requires less of it to transform) to least effected(requires more of it to transform), there are Monsters -> Human Women -> Regular Animals -> Regular plant life -> Human Men
Lilith Energy transforms anything it affects into a Lilim. Humans will by default transform into succubi, though there are rare cases where they transform into other such beings, such as Yuki-onna or even dragons. Young do not display traits.
Lilim can also produce Lilith energy, which they subconsciously produce during sexual intercourse. This union produces more than enough energy to transform human women into Lilim, but much too little to transform human men into Lilim. If this method occurs, the human will not neccessarily transform into a succubus, but the rapist's race is also an option.
The transformation into a Lilim is reversible as long as you are not born one, though the method requires materials so rare it's said that they don't exist.

Evolution System
This is a thing that has existed within Monsters even before Lilith energy plagued the world. It exists within Monsters, and through it, monsters can adapt easily to the environments they spread into. Evolution works like growth, and is a sudden change. By default, there are four stages of a Lilim - Pawn, Rook, Bishop and Queen. Pawns have absolutely no human traits, with the first human traits appearing in the Rook stage.
Any Lilim Rook-stage and above are to be intepreted as at least 15.
Their sex drives depend on stage as well. In general, Pawns have absolutely none, Rooks have sex drives that are actually close to or slightly below human adults while anything above... it gets higher.

Lilim Contactors
They are contract-bound to Lilim and use Lilim Tomes, special mass-produced magical tomes that can seal Lilim in them, only to call them out for combat or protection. Tomes are meant to be replaced, with the lowest quality of them all being able to seal only two Lilim, though later on one can store up to five Lilim in a Tome. One person may only use one functional Tome.

Lilim Tomes
They store contracted Lilim in them, and have values on their spines which signifies the 'limit' they can carry. Eggs take up 1, Pawns take up 2, Rooks take up 3, Bishops take up 4 and Queens take up 5.
The total 'count' of Lilim stored in Tomes is also how many times more resistant to Lilith energy the Contractor is.

Lilim
Lilim occur frequently in the wild, but also come in Contracted variations. They are a product of Lilith energy affected monsters, but Lilith energy can affect anything that lives and breathes - plants, animals and even humans, where they would turn into Lilim.
While they are naturally naked due to a lack of sense of shame and prefer to be, some Lilim Contractors do bother to place clothes on their partners.

Rulios and notes

This Roleplay is primarily based on Kenkou Cross' Monster Girl Encyclopedia, but it does pull from other similar works, and does not intentionally follow the laws of the established worlds, being its own continuity. Most Lilim, by extension, will draw inspiration from the Mamono of MGE, down to unique depictions. Feel free to use it in shaping your characters.

It is advised that a single Lilim and Contractor pair played by different people. Though if you want them to be played by one and the same I have no objections here.

Feel free to ask me about the Lilim you are playing, such as how their evolutionary path would look.

At the start, a Contractor can have one to two Lilim. At all times, the number of Lilim being played must be equal to or higher than the number of Contractors being played.

Each roleplayer can play up to two characters. This number might rise if push comes to shove, or just rise naturally over time.

At the start of the RP, all Lilim characters will be at the pawn stage.

All Player characters will be 15 years and above

Non-consensual sex can occur (though this will be integrated in the character application, so you can say whether you want your character to be at risk of such or if you want 'em to avoid it)

NEW One roleplayer can only post once every four posts.

E.g.
Poster 1
Poster 2
Poster 3
Poster 4

Only then can Poster 1 post again.

NEW This will mostly be a GM-mandated thing, but once at least 75% of all current players(GM included) have posted for a scene, and 24 hours have passed, or if all current players have posted, the story will proceed to the next scene.

NEW If the cast is deemed too big and the characters split, it is possible for new threads to be created if the new groups are deemed large enough.

Slime (Rook)
Species type: Amorphous
Evolves from Slime (Pawn)
A little stronger, but still pretty weak by Rook standards. Their mallaeble bodies allow them to take in or evade most if not all purely physical attacks, but a few elemental strikes will turn their frowns upside down.
When a being evolved into, there is a chance of gaining the Queen Slime mutation. This mutation causes a slime species to form multiple bodies at once, each with their own personality. They are still one entity, at the end of it all.
Evolves into Metal Slime, Tritonia or Sea Jelly.

Mudslime
Species type: Amorphous
Evolves from Slime (Pawn)
Slimes absorb elements as they go, but sometimes, something goes wrong and causes a mutation, resulting in the Mudslime. Upon evolving, it behaves as if it had those extra set of limbs its whole life. Unlike most Lilim, even before Lilith energy overtook them, they have sworn to devote themselves to one partner their entire lives, and this persists on in their instincts. Breaking this vow leads to an instant, unideal, monstrous evolution.
Evolves into Garuda; Chimera or Manticore

Evolves into Machina.

Red Cap
Evolves from Goblin.
Species type: Demon
A violent being spoken only in legend. Few who have seen it live to tell the tale of its cruel nature. As it evolves from a Goblin, it begins to understand the concept of cruelty. It is said that having a Contracted one could turn on its Contractor at any moment.
Evolves into ???.

Hobgoblin
Evolves from Goblin.
Species type: Demon
Considered to be the leader of goblin nests, they are smarter and stronger than most, and are a valuable asset to the team. However, the fact that they actively seek out and crush Red Cap deserters implies that they are not that smart.
Evolves into Ogre.

Barometz
Evolves from Alraune.
Species type: Plant; Horned Beast
When an Alraune evolves into this form, their hair becomes fluffy, in a way not too different from wool. Much like Alraune, they are humanoids that rest in their flowery shells. This wool is good for clothing materials and keeping warmth, so Alraune that somehow end up in colder regions will evolve into this form. Baromettz are actually as naked as Alraune, it's just that their thick wool is often shaped into a clothing-shaped outer covering, so if you see a wild Barometz wearing a coat or winter cap, it's pure unadultered hair. While an Alraune's nectar induces lust in men alone, a Barometz's nectar is able to affect both men and women alike, inflicting the same amount of feeling of comfort and homeliness, as if they are resting in wool. Prior to Lilith energy spreading, Barometz were harvested for their wool. It is said that a Barometz is a transitionary stage for an Alraune to ultimately abandon the flower that it so heavily relied upon.
As an Alraune species, it has the chance of gaining the "Liliraune" mutation when being evolved into.
Evolves into Baphomet, Chimera or Wendigo.

Evolves into ???.

Myconid
Evolves from Dryad or Alraune.
Species type: Plant
While it is often stereotyped that Lilim have longer lifespans that humans, Myconids are definitely outliers in that regard, so they make sure to reproduce fast. Entire myconid fields may share a partner when mating, enough to turn a man into a fresh, new myconid. Their spores do not become eggs or turn into Mandrake, but rather, they become fully-grown myconids.
Evolves into ???.

Selkie
Evolves from Mermaid.
Species type: Marine dweller
A mermaid species that wear the skins of seals, transitioning from fish-based to mammal-based. They can fully wear it to resemble a seal, or have it solely cover their lower body so that they can have the body shape of mermaids. Selkie can also fully remove their seal skins. These seal skins are very precious to a selkie, and possessing it means you possess the selkie.
Evolves into Skinwalker or Berserker.

Sea Jelly
Evolves from Slime (Rook)
Species type: Amorphous; Marine dweller
Naturally, slimes do not like the water, so a slime that has hung around beaches for long evolve into this form to adapt to it. They are beautiful and luminescent to view in the seas. They use their tendrils to sting prey with their venom, a trait that has always been in slimes, but was so weak and diluted in prior stages that it was no different from herbs or some medicine.
Evolves into Scylla or Charybdis.

Tritonia
Evolves from Slime (Rook)
Species type: Amorphous; Marine dweller
Formerly giant slug monsters that dwell in the seas. Lilith energy has made them desire humans - something that cannot be found in the ocean, so they leave the oceans to search for them. When they do, their bodies grow more petite as they have lost water, much to their dismays.
Evolves into Scylla.

Metal Slime
Evolves from Slime (Rook)
Species type: Amorphous
A slime that has taken enough physical attacks begins to gain a taste for the swords and spears of adventurers. The result - a slime with a body made of metal. Its body is now built to fend off both physical and magical attacks.

Raiju

Ookami

Species type: Beast
The Ookami were - and still are - considered gods in Eastern lands. They use their vast strength to protect those who worship them, in exchange for a little something - be it food, tribute or even sex.
Evolves into Hellhound or Lycanthrope.

Mimic
Evolves from Djinn of the Jar
Species type: Spirit; Mimic
Mimics hide in chests that dwell in dungeons. An unsuspecting adventurer could get overpowered by them easily, but once their limitless supply of magic - their chests - are destroyed, mimics are powerless. At the end of the day, Mimics drop a lot of loot, making many believe that they are worth fighting.
Evolves into Coffindweller.

Genie
Evolves from Djinn of the Jar
Species type: Spirit; Mimic
While Djinn of the Jar are only Genies by name and are merely considered close relatives, these are the true genies. They have the power to grant three wishes to those who summon them. As a Mimic-species, however, their power is bound to their item - which in this case, is their lamp. However, unlike other Mimic-species, they show much less aggression compared to their brethren, putting their cruelty into the twisting of wishes.
Evolves into Apsara or Apophis.

Kyubii
Evolves from Kitsunetsuki
Species type: Beast; Spirit
Kitsunetsuki that have lived a long time assume this nine-tailed form. The Kyubii's number of tails are evidence of the knowledge they have amassed over generations. They dedicate their long lives to passing judgement and deciding who deserves a fraction of their vast wisdom.
Evolves into Tamamo.

Chochin-Obake
Evolves from Ittan-Momen
Species type: Spirit; Tsukumogami
Since Lilith energy cannot affect inanimate objects, it is suspected that some other magic is at play in turning a regular paper lantern into a Lilim. They float around innocently, licking anyone who passes by and spooking them as they are left with stains of drippy lantern oil on their faces.
Evolves into Ghost Ship.

Karakasa
Evolves from Ittan-Momen
Species type: Spirit; Tsukumogami
Since Lilith energy cannot affect inanimate objects, it is suspected that some other magic is at play in turning a dandy into a Lilim. Much like the Chochin-Obake, the tongues of their true bodies enjoy licking unsuspecting passers-by. Those they trust will be given shelter.
Evolves into Ungaikyo.

Reaper
Evolves from Draugr or Jack-o-Lantern.
Species type: Spirit; Undead

Evolves into Valkyrie, Dullahan or Ghost Ship.

Vampire
Evolves from Draugr
Species type: Undead
While Lilim can have sex to convert humans into their own kind, Vampires and the Vampire Queen prefer to bite down on the necks of humans, just like the old days before all this Lilith energy. There is a chance that one might turn into a Vampire themselves, though most of the time they turn into Draugrs, some of which will eventually evolve into Vampires once they swear loyalty, and evolving into a Reaper is an emblem that they are breaking free. Vampires dislike the day, preferring to be known as nightwalkers.
Evolves into Vampire Queen or Coffindweller.

Jiangshi
Evolves from Draugr
Species type: Undead
A type of undead that hops around at night, sucking soul energy of unlucky victims. Their stiff bodies are a sign of Rigor Mortis

Angel
Evolves from Kitsunetsuki or Mermaid; mutated from Fallen Angel.
Species type: Divine
Angels are messengers from the heavens. Even though they are heavenly beings, they have been affected by Lilith energy. Prior to being affected by Lilith energy, many Angels possessed a wide variety of eldreitch shapes, such as intertwining giant rings or multiple beast heads attached to wings. As they are partially made of pure holy light, they have great resistance to Lilith energy, and cannot be considered true Lilim, thus do not produce their own Lilith energy.
Evolves into Valkyrie.

Fallen Angel
Evolves from Imp; mutated from Angel.
Species type: Demon
When an Angel falls, they become true Lilim, just like all the others. Angels are pure, but Fallen Angels are everything opposite from Angels.
Evolves into Baphomet or Dark Valkyrie.

As a Mimic-species, their coffins serve as mimic shells, which means that as long as it exists, the Coffindweller will have an infinitely-recharging supply of mana that, once broken, will deem them powerless... at least after a while, since they would still have mana stored in their bodies. Charybdis that spread to shallower waters such as lakes and rivers became a subspecies known as the Shellycoat, named so due to how they decorate themselves with many seashells, in which it has gained the attribute of the Fae-species. Since waters are much shallower than the seas, the freshwater-dwelling Shellycoat much prefer dragging humans in with their bare hands as opposed to utilizing whirlpools like their saltwater brethren.

Evolves from Barometz.
Species type: Horned Beast; Demon

Their true properties are a mystery - whether their true body is the house that can grow legs to move about or the witch that lives inside it is unknown.

Candy Yaga
Evolves from Jam Slime or Present Mimic.
Species type: Spirit; Mimic
A subspecies of Baba Yaga. One key difference is the fact that their house is made from everfresh, everwarm, everfragrant gingerbread and sweets. Easy - they now look like big sisters instead of cackling old women.

@MythyDragonwolf just letting you know your Contractor isn't the only female human, my character Rose is also Female, although she is a bit more than most Females as she is a hermaphrodite, but she is still a female.
Oh, my bad. I guess I missed that. >< Would you like an edit?

(Also is she gonna dick Jakki)

It would help with the reading, and make it less confusing.

Also that would depend, on weather Rose thought she was attractive enough, or not. She does like girls, but her favorites are those who are shy or become flustered over certain things.

One last question - is it obvious she is futa or would she be seen as female until it is revealed?

Got a question for ya Kara, how do you plan on doing this roleplay? Will we all be taking turns posting throughout the entire roleplay? Or are you planning on letting everyone post and reply to those they are roleplaying with?

Second one. Like what's happening now.

There is also another thing if you go with the second, then I must add will it be the same when everyone is together or will you result in taking turns only when everyone is together?

Former.

@Karasuhime

I think you guys finding a stone that, at the time, just looks like a neat knickknack would be for the better. Little trinkets that eventually evolves into a massive boon if handled cleverly was always something I enjoyed in fiction.

Maybe another use for the Carcohl is a mobile base, since they're supposed to be huge. Like a Baba Yaga hut but instead of chicken legs it's a hot tentacle lady.

Hmmm, I wonder, can she be seperated from her shell?

Later on Tomes will be able to summon Alraune seperate from their flowers, mimics seperate from their chests and Tsukumogami seperate from their items, and the main reason for that feature is to make Lilim blend in a bit better.

Baba Yaga... oh! That isn't a bad idea!

Well, everyone, I think my next post will have us set off.

before I make my next post I'm gonna wait for Grinning and Mischievous to make their posts, so that way I'm not leaving Mischievous behind and I still want to see what Jengu's reaction would be towards Rose staring her down with her Intimidating Aura.

Just added the Baba Yaga as a possible path for the Mimic and the Karakasa. I didn't realise that was what I was missing this whole time.

@Karasuhime
Hmm, I think the closest she'll get to hiding in plain sight is to disguise her shell as a very big, frilly princess type dress. Even if the shell was removable she'd still be a... snailtaur? Plus the trail of mucus would raise eyebrows anyway.

She shares that problem with a lot of Lilim. Well, the lower body thing, not the slime trail thing, so I guess you got a point.

Though it's more in-line with 'the shell is too big so we should keep it in an effective accessible pocket dimension to move through the city'.

Maybe when she's smaller she can retreat into her shell and be a lil snail backpack, flicking people who get too close with drugged mucus and tentacles. Doesn't really solve any of her problems when she gets bigger but it could be fun in the meantime. There just might not be a convenient way to overcome her Feng Shui wrecking shell and just has to be a character quirk that has to be worked around.

Lilim can be returned to Tomes so that's one for the cities- unless it's time for a nice date in the oooh I see it now. Eh, I think the beeg shell is a lategame thing so let's worry about that later, even it it does wreck harder than most big behinds like centaurs and arachne.

Since you mentioned using darts and poisons as a type of weapon, I assume you're basing her off a cone snail?

I didn't really, but after looking them over I like the idea. The shells are pretty, they're venomous, and they have the potential to heal, so a built in support tank on a genetic level.

I think I'm going to play them as a hermaphrodite, zest it up.

On one hand I'd say that Lilim being monogender has made hermaphroditic chances lower (i.e. they happened waaaay more frequently back when there were males and females of certain species but even then it was rare, and didn't happen at all within monogender races. Plus I said something like this to someone else, just one sentence.)

On the other hand, these are snails and slugs we're talking about, in which it's a species thing so- yeah you know what go for it.

@Karasuhime

We were talking about our team's background and thought it would maybe nice to RP out a little separate 'How I met my Lillim' story thingy. Shall we do that privately or should be make a separate thread here.

And in that same vein, is the whole RP going to take place in the one IC thread or is it going to spread out into multiple threads at one point?

@Karasuhime

The latter option would allow all of us to see it. So I'd say make a seperate thread for that extra backstory.

And in that same vein, is the whole RP going to take place in the one IC thread or is it going to spread out into multiple threads at one point?

It's all on the same thread. I doubt we'll ever reach a point where we'll need multiple threads, but if we do... well...

Also I'm actually going to add the Arachne family now. I have a few considerations:

A. Both the Arachne and Jorogumo have the Arachne body plan.
B. The Arachne has the arachne body plan while the Jorogumo's body is humanoid with the spider legs emerging from the back.
C. Both have a 'gene' in which some have the Arachne body plan and some have the humanoid body.

The latter option would allow all of us to see it. So I'd say make a seperate thread for that extra backstory.

Roger that, will do that then! Any suggestions where to post the thread?

Also, with the Arachne, my vote goes to option B. Makes them more distinct from each other.

Roger that, will do that then! Any suggestions where to post the thread?

People post 1x1x1s in the Group RP Section.

Oh yeah @DominusSilvarum there isn't actually a fixed posting order but if your character's got a little something to do specifically before our run-in with the mooks, I can go ahead and delete the post, save it and wait.

@Karasuhime Just pretend mine came before yours. We still need a rough posting order, if you lap the players, or if people start multi-posting, it's just going to devolve into a mess with no cohesive timeline. Last thing we need is voided posts and people having to go back and edit.

RP Group Section. They got some 1x1x1s there, so it fits.

On the other hand too strict a posting order means too long waiting times in my experience. What I am considering establishing however (which I definitely will once we open more slots) is a 'only post once every three posts' rule, something I've been meaning to try for a while.

Sorry meant to put down Kira instead of Rose for when Rose said "Fine... Just call me Rose..." I meant to put, "Fine... Just call me Kira..." just letting you know I just edited it. For those she doesn't trust she prefers to use an alias.

@Karasuhime That, however, is flawed with this many players, as 3 could be online and leave everyone else behind. I think it would be best if everyone gets 1 post a round. People will have to wait regardless due to this large of a group, Lilims controlled by multiple players with their contractor another, some people are stuck waiting on others to reply and if they can be just skipped and have the story go on without them, it's not really fair.

I've always ran with a 48-hour rule, but we can do a 24-hour rule even as well. If you don't post within 24-hours, you can be skipped. Get skipped enough and you're removed from the game for inactivity. Run it how you want, just don't think it's fair for people to miss out on rp and be skipped.

@Karasuhime I am wondering now... How does combat work? ^^ Expected to work as pokemon-esque, or more open like Digimon, with the possibility of more on one? :p

Usually I'd imagine this scenario to be like a turn-based RPG, so yeah, I guess pokemon-esque is kind of close? Though from an in-character perspective the battle is more dynamic and the like.

@DominusSilvarum No matter what direction I take, I'll ensure that I don't fall into the trap I'm trying to avoid. Thanks for the feedback.

I can maybe offer a solution. Instead of a set order, why not put in a certain rotation? As in, the scene gets opened and everybody gets one post. When everybody has posted, the scene ends and we go to the next. We can even put a timer on it that 24 hours after 75% of people have posted, the rotation continues.

Hell, I'd even offer to keep track of it so it works somewhat properly.
