Akane Uzimaki Namikaze, Aki for short, sighed as she woke up and rolled out of bed slowly. It had been a hectic past few weeks for the sixteen year old girl. As she remembered the past few days she made her way to the bathroom where she started a shower. Once the water was the right temperature she undressed and stepped under the warm stream of water. As the water ran down her body she thought about the flurry of events that had happened since the Graduation Exam from the Academy. After pretending the fail she had been conned into stealing a powerful scroll, then beat the crap out of a traitor to save her favorite Sensei and finally graduated with her class. The next two days had been nearly as eventful. First their teams were assigned, and much to Akane's annoyance she had been assigned to Team 7 with Sakura Haruno, which would have been bad enough, and the last of the Uchiha clan, which meant they would have her fan boys and girls following them around all the time, of which Sakura was one. Then they had been tested again by their new Jonin Sensei, Kakashi Hatake. Naruko had surprised her new team with her skills during the bell test, but she had still lost in the end. After they had passed Kakashi's actual test, which turned out to have nothing to do with the bells, they began taking missions as Team 7. Though most of the missions were mundane and quite boring, which lead to the the team complaining and asking for a harder mission. Finally the Third Hokage had agreed, and now they had a new mission.
Taking a deep breath Naruko finished washing, allowing the water to rinse the soap and shampoo from her tone body and shinny hair. Once out of the shower she dried herself off and put on her panties before turning to her mirror. In the reflection she took in her own appearance for a moment, parts of which no one had ever seen. Her face was very feminine and she often wondered how no one seemed to notice. Then again, few ever actually paid attention to her. Her blue eyes stood out most, they were her father's and probably her second favorite feature. Then she scanned the whisker-like marks on her face, which she hated because they looked so much like scars. Next she turned her attention to her favorite feature, which no one ever got to see, her hair. It was about shoulder length, perhaps a little past them, and blonde but about an inch and a half at the tips was red and included a few streaks which traveled the full length. They were natural, though she doubted anyone would believe that, and she guessed partially from her mother and partially from the Kurama sealed inside her. With a huff she preformed the jutsu taught to her by one of the few in the village who knew her true identity. It was a jutsu developed by Kunoichi for missions where they needed to change their appearnce, mostly their hair, without needing to cut it or anything. Soon she had the signature spiky blond hair of her alter ego, Naruto Uzimaki. Thankfully the Jutsu didn't take much effort or drain ones chakra like a jutsu to change her whole appearance would, so it would stay in place even if she were knocked unconscious. That was the reason she bound her chest rather then using a Jutsu, even though it was more uncomfortable. But it needed to be done, or so she had been told, so she did it. But she had asked the Hokage many times to allow her to be herself now that she was a Shinobi, she was tired of lying to everyone she knew about who she was. Unfortunately the Old Man didn't agree with her, and felt it was for the best that she continue to pretend to be Naruto for now.
The thought had occurred to her to simply reveal herself, or cause something that would expose the secret, but she knew that would only get her into trouble. So she had to continue to pretend to be the blond prankster, class clown, and lowest scoring Genin in her class. However, she would be putting all of that behind her now, regardless of what the Old Man said, it was time for everyone to know that there was more to her... him, then everyone thought. Part of her knew that she needed to keep her scores low in the Academy, after all if she ended up on the same team as Hinata Hyuga it would be problematic because her Byakugan would see right through the Naruto disguise. Plus she had been told to hold back, as to keep up the charade as long as possible and avoid standing out.
Once she had her hair fixed and chest bound she made her way back to her room where she put on her usual orange and blue outfit and double checked her backpack. Once she was sure she had everything she needed she left her apartment and made her way to the place where she was supposed to meet the rest of her team for the new mission. It was an escort mission of some kind, though she didn't know the details other then they would be working with Team 10 as well. While she didn't know their Sensei, Asuma Sarutobi, other then that he was the Hokage's son. She did know the other members of the team, Shikamaru was probably her favorite and was the first to notice that Naruto was holding back, or at least she was pretty sure he had noticed before anyone else. Next was Choji, whom she never really had any issues with, but she did think he ate too much, not knowing that it was because of the energy expended by the boy's family jutsu. Then there was Ino Yamanaka, a botanist on the side, Akane had a massive crush on her, but would never approach her as Naruto, because she didn't want to lie to someone she had that kind of feelings for. Of course she had other crushes too, like Kiba whom she liked to tease, mostly because she knew it was likely she would never date him, since he liked Hinata so much. Akane also had a crush on Sachiko Uchiha, though she would never admit to is, besides as Naruto, they were more like rivals then friends. In reality Akane knew how it felt to not have family, so in a way they were more connected then either realized.
Finally Akane, as Naruto arrived at the assigned meeting place, near the Western gate, and pushed all other thoughts aside. She was expecting to find the others there already, but she was the first to arrive, which gave her a few more moments of silence by herself. So she sat on a near by bench and waited for everyone else to arrive, unfortunately for Akane, Sakura was the first to arrive and she was already complaining about the others not being there and wondering where Sachiko was. The girl, disguised as a boy, heard the pinkette's rhetorical question of why Naruto had to be there first and not Sachiko, but the blonde ignored it and did her best to relax as they waited.
