* In an alternative Victorian society, young men and women without means can select to attend a special finishing school that molds them to be companions for vampires. .

* In the far future individuals can sell themselves to corporations for a high price. These individuals are memory wiped and augmented with technology, generally becoming soldiers, security or more mundane manpower. During political upheaval, her father killed, a young women is forced to go on the run with the only remaining member of her security team, one of these altered individuals.

⋆ Every spring a new maiden is left to the mercy of an ancient Satyr in the hopes she will appease his appetites and protect the villages women from being preyed on for the season.
