The Flood's Gate. ((Exelis & Zenarion))

He heard her words and then looked back at her. "We got about two minutes until it arrives..." He then told her. He could see the countdown, down in the side of his helmet, as well as he could see how much shield he had left, before he had to take cover and wait for the shield to recharge. He saw a grunt in front of him, they were too small and weak for the flood to be able to use them, so they just killed them, and then ate them. He hit the grunt in the back, with his plasma rifle, and then watched it fall to the ground. He didn't stop, he just continued to run. They didn't have the time to stop, and she knew that as well. He then ran up the stairs to the last floor before they got to the roof. "2 minutes!" He then told her while he watched her. "We have to hurry!" He then told her, before he then saw a big group of covenant in front of them. He grabbed the spartan laser, before he then aimed and charged it, just watching the red beam go through the line of covenants. He put the laser back and then grabbed the plasma rifle again, before he continued to run towards the stairs.

She was more or less running backwards up the stairs, with half a mind to use the rail instead, she didn't think she'd want to be left for dead if he thought she fell and died. "What are you doing? We don't have time to wait," she said when he took cover, shooting a mishappen grunt through the eyes with the SMG. As he killed another one, telling her they had to hurry, "You're the one sitting around for nothing and you're telling me we have to hurry," she said giving a roll of her eyes before looking back and making sure nothing was behind them. Lucky her, no-wait... She didn't hear crying. She looked back as chief shot through the line. "RUN," she shouted at him, just before something shrieked below them. "Shit," she cursed under her breath. "Don't bother fighting the bastards, just RUN," she told him, knowing it would be best to put as many living beings between them and the Cryer. Seeing there was another group of covenant to be had, she jumped over the Chief, using her hand on his helmet to flip her over him and land on the side railing. Giving a quick crouch, she managed to then jump to the next floor, one of the Elites carrying a Needler shot at her, one of the damned rounds going into... Yes, she believed that was her kidney. Again. "FUCKING BASTARDS," she cursed, getting herself over the rail before shooting at the weak spots of their armor she could see in their legs. Under normal circumstances, she would have left them alone, but they needed as many live things between them and the Cryer as possible, and unlucky Covenant group, they were alive. After effectively pissing off a few and therefore the rest, turning their attention towards her instead of him, she began running again. Two of them unable to walk anymore stayed behind just as another blood curtling shriek was heard. "C'MON, GREEN SKULL! UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE EATEN ALIVE," she yelled down to him.

He rolled her eyes as he heard how she yelled at him. Those things wouldn't be able to eat him alive, since he would just blast them off with his spartan laser, but if they actually got to kill him, the bomb on his back would just explode, making sure that they wouldn't get him, thats why there hadn't been seen any spartan floods so far, and thats why they would never be seen, he knew that, but luckily she didn't. The bomb would kill everything within 10 meters of him. He looked up, and then saw the stairs to the roof, only one minute left, they would be just in time. He just continued running be hind her, and then just before he ran up the stairs, he threw a hand grenade back, and then, when he was up at the roof he heard the explosion, he then threw another one, just to make sure that there wouldn't be anyone following them up the stairs. He saw the pelican at the edge of the roof, and then ran over to it, and jumped, landing inside, where he would be safe. "Come on... Hurry up!" He then told her, before he then too his spartan laser, only one shot left, that should be enough to cover her.

"God, damn it, STOP KILLING THINGS AND RUN," she told him. She swore she'd never seen a spartan so itching to be Floodified. She ducked whenever she saw him throw a bomb, having no wish for shrapnel in her. Damned idiot, she thought, seeing the pellican. "Finally," she watched him run and jump before she could follow. "Now you run," she asked, quickly jumping in before anything could come out of the wreckage he'd caused. Yes, she wished like hell she'd gotten out with the refugees, but she supposed she couldn't be picky at the moment. She only hoped that they didn't insist on chaining her to a table to dissect before she could get away.

He rolled his eyes as he heard her words. "Why are you saying that?" He then asked her in a hard tone while he watched her. "I just don't want anybody to follow us up here, and then shoot down the pelican, thats why i shoot them" He then told her while he watched her. "This pelican is our only chance to get away from here and to a safe place..." He then told her, before he then saw how the covenants came running up the stairs, and then took aim with the spartan laser, killing most of them, before he then felt the pelican fly away. "Anyways... We should be safe now..." He then told her. He then walked to the cockpit. "How long until we are at the base?" He then asked one of the pilots. "We should be there within 10 minutes" The pilot told him, and he walked back, taking a seat in the middle of one of the rows.

"Well, I only hope you managed to kill the Cryer while you were at it with those grenades. I haven't seen them fly, but it wouldn't supprise me if they could," she growled, getting to a seat by him and instead of strapping in, like most of the soldiers she saw, she merely held on. No way in hell was she bothering with a buckle if they started going down. She could heal from broken bones faster than she could getting gutted by a piece of machinery.

He smiled a bit as he heard her words "How fast can they fly then?" He asked her with a liught chuckle. He was sure that a pelican could outrun a cryer, and if a cryer came after them, then they could always shoot it down, after all there was wepons and amunation on this pelican, and there was also some medicine. "There is no need to worry..." He then told her while he watched her. "And besides.... If can hold it away from the pelican in 2 minutes, we can get some hornets to protect us" He then told her.

For some reason, she felt like he was patronizing her and gave him a leveled look before sighing and settling back, stretching her long legs out. "Hell hath no furry," she muttered, thinking of the Cryer. She could hear it outside, screeching on the roof and dealing with the few Covenant fighters they'd left alive. Well, at least that would keep her, "I don't think we'll be finding out if she flies today." Deciding she was tired, she closed her eyes and without noticing that she'd done it she was so tired, rested her forehead against his arm. She was soon asleep besides him, her head turned to the side and her hair, past her shoulder blades fell off of her shoulder.

Hearing her words he then rolled his eyes at her words, and then felt her lay her head on his shoulder, and then saw her fall asleep. He rolled his eyes at this, and then slowly took off his helmet. He rarely took it off, and almost everybody in the army knew that, luckily the pilots didn't look back, because he didn't want them to see his face. So far only the people that had made him had seen his face... And thats the only ones he wanted to see his face, and no one else... Maybe her... But then he wouldn't let anyone see his face.

She moaned softly in her sleep as she felt him move, turning her head lightly, she moved her legs, and was given a supprise when it caused her body to loose it's hold in the seat and made her fall. She yelped, looking rather perterbed for a moment as she sat on the floor, her body turned in an effort to grab onto something as she fell. She decided to save her pride for another day and not say anything. At least till she looked up and saw the Spartan. She blinked, she'd never seen one of them with their helmets off. Even the infected two she'd fought. Seeing his face, she actually kind of wished she'd been able to see theirs as well. "You're pretty handsome," she told him with a soft smile before standing up and brushing herself off before sitting back down besides him. "How long till we get there," she asked him.

He smiled a bit as he saw how she fell down on the ground, and then looked into her eyes, once she looked up at him. Hearing her words he then blushed a bit. "Th-Thank you..." He then told her while he watched her. This was the first time somebody had told him that. He looked down, before he then looked up at her again as he heard her words. "We'll be there in two minutes..." He then told her while he watched her. He then let out a soft sigh and picked up his helmet, putting it on again. He could feel that the pelican was slowing down, which meant that they were over the base now, and that they soon would be down at the ground.

"What... What do you think they're going to do with me once we get to the base," she asked, wondering if the army had set up a protocol for encountering her yet. Lord, she hoped not. Or at least she hoped it didn't have anything to do with locking her up or attempting to kill her. She sighed leaning back and resting her head against the wall, exposing her long throat. She chewed on her bottom lip, closing her eyes and letting her hair fall back over her shoulder.

He smiled a bit as he heard her words. "Take it easy... They won't... As long as you don't tell them anything... And as long as you are with me" He the said, before he then stood up, just as the pelican landed. "Just stay close to me..." He then told her while he watched her. "Got it?" He then asked. He didn't want them to take her, and use her for experiments, eventhough they could use her DNA to create some even better spartans, and upgrade some of them. He wouldn't let them take her, unless they commanded him to do that.

"Thanks... I wouldn't want to..." She bit her lip and then just nodded, and she did stay close to him, usually no more than a step behind him or besides him as she followed him out of the pelican when they landed. All the military around her with no enemy to fight currently made her nervous as she stayed close to him when they left the aircraft. She never thought she'd feel safer in the air instead of on ground, but at the moment, she did.

He smiled a bit as he heard her words and then gave her a slight nod. "You are welcome..." He then told her with a slight smile upon his lips. "This way... I'll show you the way to my room..." He then told her while he watched her. "I only have one bed in there.... So if you want to sleep... We either have to share.... Or one of us have to stay up, until the other wakes up..." He then todl her.

She nodded following him, "If the bed's big enough, I guess sharing would be a good idea. Who knows how long we'll have to rest." She looked up at him, it unnerved her that she couldn't see his face, but she was getting used to it.

He smiled a bit as he heard her words, and then looked down at her. "Okay then.... It should just be big enough for both of us..." He then told her while he watched her. "But i warn you... The breakfast might kill you" He then told her with a light chuckle, before he then stopped in front of the door to his room.

"As long as it's cooked and hot, I'll love it," she told him with a smile as she followed him. She set her gun on a nearby table, bringing up a hand to wipe the hair out of her face. "How're you doing, Green Skull? Do you need to head to the med-bay? I know your suit has a lot of toys to keep you safe, but we know you're not invincable," she said, looking back and up at him, trying to shake some debri out of her hair that had been clean not any more than thirty minutes before.

He laughed as he heard her words. "No... Im not invincable.... But they don't know that... And besides.... Im nearly invincable" He then told her with a light chuckle while he watched her. "How you seen me almost dying yet?" He then asked her with a light chuckle, before he then unlocked the door, and then stepped inside, of his room, putting the wepons down in the corner where all of his other wepons where.

She set her weapon down with his and fluffed her hair out some more, getting more pieces of plaster and dust out. "I wouldn't know if you were dying with that tank you call a suit on," she told him with a small smile before looking about. For a military room, it was alright. Normally one to enjoy showers, she figured he'd need one more than her, and she knew that the amount of water that they could use in one bathroom was limited so she decided not to. She didn't have any blood on her - ok a few drops of Elite blood, and the purple of a grunt dotted her shirt, but that was all. "I don't think I remember the last time I slept in a bed, sure, it was less than a week ago, but still," she said, walking over to it and crawling in, tucking her body into a corner and leaving him the rest of the bed - it was big enough for both, but just barely, she noted.

He rolled his eyes as he heard her words. "Yes you would.... You would see it if i were laying on the ground, dying" He then told her, before he then locked the door, and then pulled off his helmet again, and then started removing the armor, piece for piece. "Maybe you want to take a shower? I'll get some clothes and food brought over here..." He then told her, before he then removed the chest guard. He then started removing the lower parts of the armor, until he stood, only in the black suit that you had to wear under the armor.

She didn't hear him talk, allready asleep on the bed. Her chest rising slowly and lowering slowly. She nuzzled into the bed, she was so tired and tuckered out. Her hair spread around her head a bit onto the bed.

He smiled a bit as he saw this, and then headed off to the shower. Once he was done, he then headed off to bed as well, laying down on the bed beside of her, before he then pulled the cover over them, and then slowly drifted off to sleep.

In her sleep, she moved closer to him as he was a source of warmth. And, being thin as a wraith, she was almost always cold. She gave a soft moan, wrapping her arms around one of his biceps and curling around his arm like a lover, molding her body to it's line.

He moved a bit in his sleep, of course he had felt what she had done, but it hadn't woken him up. He yawned, and then turned, so that he was no facing her, and just continued to sleep, he hadn't slept in a coule of days now.
