Character Name: Kaden Fletcher

Character Role: Pirate Captain

ares-.jpg

Age: 24

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 152lbs

Sexual Orientation: Gynephilic (Attracted to predominantly feminine individuals)

Training/Skills: Lightning-fast swordplay, highly agile & acrobatic, skilled marksman.

Weaponry: Brace of two pistols across his chest and a pair of matching basket hilt cutlasses at his waist.

Bio: Kaden was born on Saint Kitts and his father died from sickness when he was still very young. His mother supported them both in working as a servant for the local governor and during that time the governor's wife took pity on Kaden, allowing him access to their library and some higher forms of education during her spare time. Unfortunately his mother perished when he was twelve years old and without many prospects to get by Kaden ended up being signed on to the royal navy as a powder monkey, an individual assigned to supply gunpowder to the cannons during battle.

Despite the harsh conditions Kaden found himself doing quite well on the high seas and when the vessel he was serving on was attacked by pirates and defeated the pirate captain took him on in a stroke of compassion and made it his goal to teach Kaden all that he'd need to know about sailing as well as all the truths of the world that his upbringing had hidden from him. It was from here on that Kaden found himself learning the truth about Britain's influence upon the Caribbean as well as all the major nations with their restrictive laws and regulations, heavy reliance on slavery, and stifling taxation that crippled those who refused to submit to trade organizations such as the East India Trading Company. Despite living and working now as a pirate Kaden came to agree with the lifestyle and found his disdain for traditional authority growing.

As he matured into a man Kaden continued to grow skilled with blade and firearm, his body strong yet lithe to allow him to easily move about even in the rough waters they often encountered. Though he never truly found himself a cruel person he found that he relished the adrenaline and action of battle when it actually happened, though his captain taught him that fear and respect were far better tools to wield for the sake of avoiding bloodshed at all when possible. Eventually they stumbled upon a newly-constructed English warship being sailed by a skeleton crew as they made to deliver it. Recognizing the opportunity they attacked and sized it only for the captain to grant this vessel to his then first mate Kaden, making him a captain in his own right and setting him up to make his own way through the world. Kaden's former captain retired shortly after this and many of his crew flocked to his crew out of respect for the young man and ever since he has been sailing out of Nassau with his eyes on the horizon in search of military ships to prove that not all will be so easily cowed.

Likes: Freedom, Action/Thrill, Camaraderie, Excess, Justifiable Vengeance.

Dislikes: Strict Authority, Slavery, Pointless Cruelty.

Personality: Kaden prides himself on living a life as free as possible but realizes that things can't always go his way. He is a jovial man who is quick to flash a smile or offer a laugh, preferring that his crew feel welcome and happy as well. His early years of education not only helped him to master the necessary skills to captain a vessel but his experience on the high seas as well as the guiding hand of his mentor have left him confident in his skills be they physical or mental in nature. Although a typically nice individual at heart he isn't afraid to embrace the pirate lifestyle either, stealing from others to build his own wealth and putting a good scare into his foes to try and avoid major conflict whenever possible. That said he tends to focus his ire against military transports belonging to the major nations whenever possible and when he does have to resort to more civilian targets he makes a point to leave them with some of their cargo. That said when battle does come Kaden is a lightning fast combatant with his cutlasses, using speed and grace to outmaneuver his opponents rather than sheer power. He has survived countless battles over his twelve years of sailing and has plenty of scars to prove it, meaning that he has a solid tolerance for pain and has been tempered into a tough individual.

Points of Interest:
-Although he wears an eyepatch over his right eye that eye is perfectly serviceable, he wears it to help his look as a pirate but doesn't hide to his crew or friends that it's just for show.
-While anti-authority for the most part Kaden Fletcher is a member of the Republic of Pirates and respects those within the organization as off-limits to himself and his crew.

Ship Information: Abandon Hope is a roebuck-class ship of war, formerly of the British royal navy and considered a fifth-rate vessel before Kaden got his hands upon it. With only ten ships of its kind it fills a strange middle ground between a proper ship of the line and smaller, faster vessels. Abandon Hope maintains the speed to overrun the majority of merchant vessels yet carries the firepower to tackle hardened warships of the like that her captain prefers to tangle with. It has a total of 44 cannons, twenty of which are arrayed along port and starboard while the remaining four are split between aft and bow to ensure that the ship can deliver at least some punishment even in the more vulnerable angles. It can support a complement of up to 280 crew though often runs lower Suffice to say that Abandon Hope is a terror on the seas in the hands of a skilled captain who knows how best to use the strengths and weaknesses of the design to maximum effect.

Annabelle Beaumont
Proprietress of The Lady's Laugh

cedba8098e431b97e3cbe7b2bd0d94a2.jpg

Age: 23

Sexual Orientation: heterosexual, but flirtatious regardless of gender

Training/Skills: healing (herbal remedies for common ailments, poisons, antidotes, midwifery), palm reading, tarot cards, several instruments, singing, bedplay

Weaponry: guards, a dagger, and poisons

Bio: Born to an English Earl, she wasnโ€™t born to the manโ€™s wife. Her mother was a gypsy her father took a fancy to and basically gave her the ultimatum of staying as his mistress or watch her tribe be tortured to death. So, her father kept her mother quite well in a small estate a short ride from his main home. Anna grew up speaking several languages thanks to all the lovely visitors her father brought over for entertainments. Her mother had been the tribeโ€™s healer and passed down the knowledge to her daughter, along with the trades of palm reading and tarot. Her father had always been a lover of music, so her childhood was spent in various sorts of lessons...One would think her father intended her to marry well when she was of age-but that wasnโ€™t the caseโ€ฆ

She was always told she was such a pretty child. She was eleven the first time she was violated by someone her father sought favor from...And as she grew-she became prettier and prettier. Her father traded her for favors over and over, and Anna learned from each little turn from her fatherโ€™s hand to whoeverโ€™s bed she would be gracing that night. By the time she was of marriageable age, she had become quite the courtesan. She could charm and beguile most any man, and women even found themselves enjoying her conversational skills and wit. Even the King would invite her to sing and play for the court at many a party.

Unknown to her, her half-brother had not been aware of exactly whose daughter she was-just that she was favored courtier, called upon by the King for her talents...He decided he was in love with her and she should be happy to be in his bed...Her father had made sure she knew that such a thing was unacceptable before it had ever come up-it might have been an open secret to the adults in court, but not his proper family...He didnโ€™t want them to know...So when her half-brother broke into her room at the palace one night, she had been left with no course but to defend herself...Not her fault that his balls ended up on the floor...He shouldnโ€™t have been helping himself into her bed.

Luckily for her, the King agreed...Though, to avoid scandal, she was sent away. Really, she was supposed to take up residence in Boston, but a storm blew the ship off course and she found herself in Nassau with a governorโ€™s fortune. She always wanted her own place to call home. The girls who were sent to be her servants, and a few slaves her father had quietly acquired had wanted a different life than had been dealt them--so...She bought a lovely dilapidated estate that had its own charms...At sixteen, she was the mistress of her own estate, and with her lovely manners and talents-she was soon being called Lady Anna. She always took it as tongue in cheek.

Nassau was often finding itself under the rule of various kings, governors to carry out their will, and pirates when the governors did a shitty job. Anna and her former servants and slaves saw an opportunity-so many men away from home...They needed a place to eat, drink, sleep, and fuck...So, Anna turned her little estate into a profitable business, her coffers growing until she owned a sizeable portion of the port...She fixed up the shops and warehouses and began to rent them out for a modest fee. The working girls were allowed rooms and paid rent if they wanted to stay, anything over that they kept-the rent was high but the ladies still found themselves with coin in their pocket, and if they just wanted to work for a night-well, Anna took a share of the fee for each tussle. Food, drinks, whores...The trifecta of things men at sea were more than willing to pay whatever coin they had in their pockets for...Or secretsโ€ฆ

Likes: music, wine, charming company

Dislikes: crude humor, snakes, bad cooking

Personality: Charming in passing, few people could fault her upon first meeting her. Polite, elegant, witty--Few people could think her as much more than a sweet and charming woman. Few would find themselves thinking her shrewd or cunning-but she most certainly is. Dealing with politicians, nobles, pirates, Naval offices, and such--well, one certainly canโ€™t be a dottard and thrive. Not to say she isn't capable of being genuinely sweet, but it's rare for someone to endear themselves to her quite so well. For those who find themselves in a rare tender place in her heart, there's not a more loyal friend they could have.

Points of Interest: Captains can come to her for leads, tips...The occasional treasure map if they heard something from someone or other. When the governors find themselves with power, they know to ask her about who might be willing to give them a discreet hand with one problem or another...Or a not-so-discreet hand if they really want to make a statement-find out the reivers form the potential privateers, so to speak.

She also does small entertainments like palm reading and tarot cards for individuals who ask.

She doesn't allow trouble at her establishment. Those who cause trouble tend to find themselves with terrible illness. Whispers abound she's really a gypsy witch who charmed her way into a court, and then found her way here with what valuables she had bespelled from suitors...But really-a mix of minor and mild poisons can be found in any bit of food or drink, the antidote given before someone leaves in those same drinks and food-and if they cause trouble, no antidote for them-a trick she learned from her mother of how women kept their husbands from straying-poison in breakfast and if they didn't return for dinner, they were too ill to entertain an extramarital affair.

Ship Information: She owns The Lady's Laugh-the best tavern, inn, and brothel in Nassau. No ship...

Character Name: Captaine Sylvie Isabella โ€œDianeโ€ de Antillac.

Character Role: Privateer Captain (for the French monarchy).

wmo9yFDLkDQzVBjoZlRz_GuLK3b06gVa4sH6eeoyjME.jpg

Age: 24.

Sexual Orientation: Sapphist.

Training/Skills: Commerce raiding, marksman, acting.

Weaponry: Cavalry saber, dual pistol, knife in boot, her fists.

Bio: The seventh child and fourth daughter of the Marquis de Antillac, Diane was not destined for status or rank within the aristocracy of France, and disdaining the role of โ€œhearth keeperโ€ for some drunkard monsieur, was thus forced to find and earn her own fortunes upon other dangerous ventures, which her father approved in lieu of having to pay out a dowry should she ever get married. Her first choice was certainly not the captaincy of a naval vessel in the fledgling French navy but a scandal with the youngest, married, son of the Kingโ€™s War Minister saw her wishes granted for a commission and therefore deployed to the most distant post, seemingly, away from Paris and in her mind, the center of world civilization. Though she deigned the naval posting to not be very lucrative, she does not hate the sea, and indeed grew up in sight and hearing of it at her family estates on the Atlantic coast of the French Kingdom.

The naval arm of the French Kingdom is not a sought out posting for anyone, being outclassed in every regard in such areas by their rivals across the Channel. Diane found herself surrounded by oarsman serving out life sentences, fishermen masquerading as deep sea sailors out of boredom, and other such rejects and exiles from all classes of French society, none of whom appreciated a woman at the helm. On her first day she had to slay two of them for overreaching, or attempting to do so. Born deeply into the philosophy of the ancien regime, as one of noble birth and the highest upon her vessel, the La Cygne Foncรฉ, she took it upon himself to organize and drill these misfits into a coherent fighting force once the severity of her ambitions was made real to them. Not to take on the invincible navy of her nationโ€™s foes, but enough to do her required duty; that of interdicting and destroying the merchant shipping of their rivals, coming to and fro the new world to the old. Dealing with such lowclass individuals however has helped to break the intolerable hold of spoiled nobility in her mind and actions, allowing her to see and believe there exists a modicum of such in her fellow man, poor though their circumstances might be.

She is a privateer, and while she believes firmly in the notions of law and order, she believes this assignation, as sanction by the Kingโ€™s war council, to be above such justice. Still, she strives not to kill indeterminately, pirate or innocent, and employs cunning to cover up her tracks, often changing the name of her ship and even flying the flags of rival nations. She is far from home, with little to no oversight, and therefore acts more of a private agent than a dutiful one for his King, as they have no problem throwing her to the proverbial sharks should she ever be captured. Being a woman, the Kingdom has plausible deniability of her working in their service. Currently, she has sunk and captured vessels with a combined tonnage in the low thousands and continues to be a pest for local shipping lanes in the region.

She absolutely refuses to believe herself to be a pirate, despite her actions being to the contrary, and regards her fellow thieves as lawless, honourless scum, only outclassed in such maggotry by the Englishโ€ฆ

Likes: Duty, Efficiency, and the thrill of honorable dueling.

Dislikes: Gratuitous violence, glory-seekers, and the English.

Personality: Diane is much like the sea she traverses, often portraying a calm exterior, but capable of flash-storms in times of emotional trauma when she becomes upset or deeply insulted. She is much quicker to laughter than to anger, however. She knows and understands his limits, not putting much stock in labels like hero or coward, and doing only what she believes is within her means to do. Born into high nobility, she believes she has seen everything worth seeing and views the world with a sense of boredom as well, but also believes such boredom is the path to longevity in a way. Has no qualms in โ€œstopping to smell the rosesโ€ whenever possible.

Points of Interest: What she did to anger the Kingโ€™s War Minister and the scandal surrounding his son. Her failed courtships. Her English grandmother, the secret root cause of her hatred for them despite being one-quarter English.

Ship Information: Captaine Diane de Antillac commands a Sixth-Rate, one of the smallest ship-of-the-lines, currently undermanned in all departments, and lacking in some armaments. However, Diane plays off this lack of weaponry for speed, able to outrun many larger ships and engage in her hit-and-run tactics in interdicting commerce shipping. Though her vessel has an official name in French records, it is not boasted anywhere aboard the ship and has become an ad hoc superstition among the crew even to speak it, instead utilizing a host of other names stolen from sunken ships that no longer need them. And if one of the former crew of those vessels should happen to hear this French vessel masquerading in their old vesselโ€™s name, wellโ€ฆsomething will have to be done.

Character Name: The Right Honorable, Warrant Officer Dominick Carrington.

Character Role: Naval Surgeon.

rsecXom.jpg

Age: 29.

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual.

Training/Skills: Surgery, Medicine, Literacy, Quality-Assurance of luxury goods.

Weaponry: Pistol for self-defense, never used.

Bio: Dominick was born the only son and heir to an Earl of England, a minor rural lord with some standing and wealth within the English Crown. At an early age, he received the classical education in the arts, sciences, and mathematics by his tutors, while also being impressed upon by his well educated tutor in ethics and philosophy of the higher minded concepts of the world, most notably the notion of Christian peace and brotherhood with his fellow man. This has led to Dominick developing a pacifist view of the world, hoping all could live in peace, rather than in violence, which has led to various gossip and rumours about his apparent lack of manhood in supporting the ambitions of the English crown and people on the world stage. Many regard him as craven and coward because of this views, though Dominick fully believes hero-status could be garnered without being linked to violence as many others seemed to engage in.

As is custom with many English nobility, he was still destined for a career in the military before pursuing higher political options and naturally he went with signing up with the English Royal Navy, as his father and grandfather had done before him. Yet he refused to receive a commission and command of a vessel, knowing he had done nothing to earn such authority besides being born into privilege and rank, and thus was able to compromise with familial pressure to join the Navy by studying and applying for the Barber-Surgeonsโ€™ Company under the Navy Board, after seeing a physician of that caliber attend to the victim of a reckless carriage driver in the streets of London. Amazed by the calmness of the doctor, of his ability to heal and revitalize life, rather than the excessive taking of it, impressed upon Dominick the desire to do the same. While most ship surgeons are generally rushed in their education, Dominick was able to leverage his nobility to obtain proper learning in the matter, attending one of the Kingdomโ€™s fledgling universities where he managed his studies alongside the usual debaucheries of such life, being away from home in his twenties, with wealth and independence.

This makes him one of the few full rated physicians qualified by the Navy Board in service to the Crown. Knowledgeable in the virtues and properties of many herbs, of both the old world and the new, as well as being up to date with the newest developments in surgery and painless amputations, Dominick is a top rate doctor and surgeon with a genuine care for all living things, human or otherwise, and will do all in his power to ensure all receive fair and equal treatment if possible, as dictated by his Christian upbringing. He has no qualms about leveraging his personal wealth, which is considerable, in order to obtain the best possible care for his patients, regardless of how โ€œlowlyโ€ they are in social standing. This has led to him receiving many scathing letters from his father, demanding the cessation of such wastage but Dominick persists knowing that one day, he will have much greater power and influence to effect his desire of universal care and treatment.

But first he must complete, as mandated, the usual ladder of positions and career goals as expected of any upcoming British noble. Being assigned to a posting in the New World, a mysterious continent with many dangers and threats, he does not think it all likely he might ever return to his foggy island. But he intends to do his duty to the utmost, living in his mind the ideal of a Christian knight for good.

Likes: Hierarchy, King and Country, compassion, the fine arts, literature, virtue.

Dislikes: Violence, no-mercy policies, criminality, colonial oppression.

Personality: Naive perhaps in his sheltered upbringing, Dominick can be spoiled in some regards as he was brought only eating the finest foods, drinking the best liquor, having the best clothing, and continues to uphold this standard even in his military posting, which is permitted by his noble birth. He is kind and courteous whenever possible, will always try to solve disputes via discussion, and will pursue an optimistic view even in the most demoralizing of times. He is curious about the world and all living things, holding each to be unique and special in their own way, and thus worthy of study and learning, if permitted. However, the constant stitching up and bloody surgeries of wounded man has desensitized him somewhat and can often leave him with a depressed, melancholy view of the world at times. Nothing a strong drink canโ€™t cure, however.

Points of Interest: Heir to Earldom in central England.

Ship Information: Assigned to Royal Navy vessel (TBA)

Puppet Master: BennyQ.

Character Name: Captain Tabitha Catebury

Character Role: Captain of HMS Medusa

906F091A-2FE0-4D9D-8E7E-D7CD9C085915.jpeg

Age: 27

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Training/Skills: Swordplay, sailing, โ€œenhanced interrogation,โ€ violin, fluent in: English, French, Spanish, and German, anything consider a โ€œladyโ€™sโ€ art.

Weaponry: Saber, boot dagger, flintlock pistol

Bio: Tabitha Catebury, born the of the Baron and Baroness Catebury, was raised in the comfort of privilege. Her father, Commodore Catebury, was well esteemed in His Majestyโ€™s Navy. She was born the young of five children with three sisters and one brother. Her sisters grew in the image of their mother: demure, graceful, skilled in the feminine arts. Yet Tabitha looked to her father and brother as role models. From the moment she could shamble about on stumpy, chubby, baby legs sheโ€™d find any stick to play act the sword fighting her father taught her brother. Edgar, her brother, was destined to join the Navy like their father while her sisters were destined for fine marriages. Tabitha was destined for that too but she grew up a little hellion.

At every turn she was trying to pick fights with others and picking on other children. Only when Edgar came around did she let up. Every second in โ€œlady lessonsโ€ drove her mad. She was happiest when her father or Edgar would bring her aboard the ships. Tabitha could scale up the ropes like a little monkey. The men found it humorous and indulged her curiosity. The ship visits, however, came to a stop when she bullied the wrong child at a ball. Mortified at the transgression Tabithaโ€™s โ€œlady lessonsโ€ double in ferocity. She learned behind closed doors and gates.

All the while an oddly quiet boy was serving on ships. First as just an able seaman but while his nobility earned his way to midshipman. Three years before the exams could be taken. The quiet boy passed with top marks. As the uniforms of Lieutenant were filed out the quiet boy ya led off his frock coat and lo! โ€˜โ€˜Twas Tabitha Catebury. Rather than see his daughter turn insane from being driven down the path of a lady her father smuggled her aboard a ship with very strict orders. The crew and Captain knew but had been well paid by the Commodore.

Outrage ensued. The board of admiralty was called. Tabitha demanded her right to serve given her acquired years at sea and top marks on the exam. No! A woman could do no such thing! Tabitha would not be deterred and demanded the issue be brought to the king himself. King George II laughed at the very notion of a woman sailor. Being a man of amusement, however, her ordered a test. She would take a crew of men who would be willing to follow her command and bring back the head of a pirate or privateer that had been damaging merchant and supply ships alike.

At best her crew was motley, an odd smarter of the very brave or very stupid. They were granted a 6th rate ship and sailed off for the new world. Months past with no word. Then on one fine windy morning their ship returned to port. Tabitha had brought not one, but two heads of scallywags who had terrorized English ships and one of their small schooners as a prize. A man of his word the King himself granted her commission.

Seven years later and the Board of Admiralty was caught in a hard spot. Tabitha and her crew was, bar none, the strongest single force in the fleet with scores of pirates hanged and ships burnt to the keel. Yet she was a woman! With a rag-tag group of misfits hardly fit to polish boots let alone sail! The threat of piracy, and the treasonous actions of one captain with the Princess, gave them no choice. Tabitha was pinned as Captain and granted the HMS Medusa as hers to command. Her mission, as always, was to keep the trade routes safe and unmolested by the pirate scourge. The hard life at sea and the pressure of leadership made the already limited pigment of her white- kind hair disappear to leave her hair a snowy while at only 27 years.

Likes: Order, discipline, England, hanging pirates, the sea, playing violin, fine port, tobacco, and Shepardโ€™s pie.

Dislikes: Pirates, traitors, disobedience, slovenly sailors, corsets, any sort of โ€œplinkingโ€ music(harps, harpsichord, pizzacato on string instruments, etc...), and riding horses.

Personality: Stoic and rigid in her command, she demands the best from her men and gives nothing less back. While slow to anger her fury burns hot when the tinder ignites. Merciless with enemies and brutal when doling our punishment yet done with calm poise. Her humor and wit are drier than a bleached bone. While not entirely known for kindness she is lavish in rewarding her men when they serve well even if itโ€™s just a gathering on deck for song and grog. While she has the capability to act like a lady of noble birth she prefers to behave as a Captain of His Majestyโ€™s Navy rather some featherbrained ninny.

Points of Interest: First and only woman granted commission. Often disguises her ship and crew to lure in pirates or go ashore in seedier settlements. Doesnโ€™t believe in God or nonsense seafaring superstitions but pretends to for appearances.

Ship Information: HMS Medusa is a 3rd rate ship-of-the-line boasting 74 primary guns, 3 masts full rigged, and 500 crew. She can reach speeds of 12 knots with a fair wind and her hull can withstand moderate gunfire. While not as fast and agile as the ships she hunts her artillery will destroy smaller ships should they come near. She boasts 28 32-pounders on her primary gun deck and 28 18-pounders on her upper deck as well as 2 long-nines at her bow and stern.

Character Name: Alexander "Xander" Keogh

Character Role:
1st Lieutenant of the Medusa

Age: 27

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Training/Skills: While he is a more than competent sailor, Alexander has a particular passion for the siting of cannons, and training gun crews for efficiency and rate of fire. He also plays the violin with some skill and is a competent singer.

Weaponry: Cutlass, Brown Bess Musket, Boarding Axe

Bio: Born to a Catholic family in Ireland, Alexander's father owned a shop on the wharfs of Belfast that sold various shipboard luxuries to officers on the various ships that came into port. As such he was on good relations with many captains of the Royal Navy and so he secured a position for Alexander, his youngest son, as a Midshipman. As a Catholic, Alexander was forced to swear additional oaths of loyalty to the king and publicly convert to the Church of England as per the Papist Acts.

Despite this less than warm welcome, Alexander took well to his new profession, passing his examination for Lieutenant on his second attempt and being transferred to a Frigate on the Indian Coast where he distinguished himself as a section commander in a battle against a heavier French ship where his sections superior rate of fire helped to turn the tide in a fight the British should not have won. Bringing the ship into Gibraltar he found his Captain had had him transferred the Medusa as a kind of promotion, as there were no vacancies for a Commander, and the Medusa was short of officers due to the nature of it's Captain.

Now after a long voyage in a supply ship, Alexander is excited but wary of taking up duty on the Medusa as this will be his first experience in the West Indies.

Likes: Music, whiskey, redheads, chess, card games, swimming,

Dislikes: The Anglican Church, arbitrary/collective punishment

Personality: a paragraph explaining the character's personality

Points of Interest: Generally presented as an open book, Liam has two secrets of note. 1. He continued to be a Catholic as an officer in the King's Navy despite the Papist acts, keeping his faith a secret, and outwardly participating as member of the Church of England. 2. His family were killed during a anti-catholic riot in Northern Ireland, leading him to be secretly sympathetic to independence movement in his homeland, though he has yet to act on these feelings in any meaningful way.

Ship Information: A recent transfer to the Medusa, Liam is wary of serving under a captain as (in)famous as Tabitha Catebury.

Alias(s): The Tea Drinker, Sure-Shot, Wife Stealer, Mr Charm, Reggie

Age: 35

Sexual Orientation: Straight/Hetro

Training/Skills: He is a crack shot when using small arms. Claims he can shoot the hair off a cows tail from a hundred paces. Trained in war he knows how to fight but since his time on the sea, he has become a dirty fighter. Cello player, card shark, marksman, hunter, silver-tongued.

Weaponry: Cutlass and 2 flintlocks across his chest.

Bio: The bastard son of the Mayor of York. While his father didn't recognize him publicly but in secret favored him above his natural son. He was granted modest lodgings by his father until the age of fourteen. His modest lodgings we're revoked his half brother somehow assumed his father's position surviving by digging card games and stealing, he was never good at the latter.

Orphaned he survived until he was of age to join the military. Joining purely for a hot meal and a bed to sleep in. Serving aboard various ships as a Royal Marine until he turned 30 when he had been made captain of his unit. When he wasn't aboard a ship he was serving as one of the royal family's bodyguards.

Not long after had been promoted he got into a heated argument with the future king. Because of that argument, he was released from service and his rank had been stripped. Adding insult to injury his wife of eight fled with his son soon after his altercation.

After sometime Reginald had a visitor to the inn he was frequenting. That visitor was in the form of Princess Lenora selling him a new lease on life. It was better than rotting. So he took it, he even talked to a few other military guys into joining since they had met similar fates.

On the night it happens of the new king's coronation, Reginald and his former Marines broke into the castle pilfering what they could carry and met at the shipyards with Leonora. Becoming her first mate in the process as well.

Likes: Reginald is a devout follower of the cardinal sin of lust. It's an ongoing joke that his cock should have fallen off by now. The only other thing that comes close is the relationship that he has with Captain Harvey. He also takes an almost sickening pleasure in killing Spaniards. Buxom women, gunpowder, new weaponry, gemstones, sugar and tobacco

Dislikes: He hates the Spanish with the utmost displeasure. Something he doesn't talk about unless it's to his captain. Reginald actually doesn't drink unless he has too, preceding his tea. Fish (unless it's a shark), insubordination, alcohol, Dandies (flamboyant men), a higher authority other than his Captain and doctors.

Personality: Reginald is a ladies man or at least he claims to be. The sin of the flesh calls to him like a cat to milk. Being a military man he is strict with the orders and swift with any punishment, that is if the need arises. Since he has been on the sea though this has waned slightly. He tends to be a welcoming individual, friendly and warm but come off the wrong way he is likely to put a ball of lead in the skull. He does have a moral compass despite his new profession, he will not harm women unless they come at him first and to do harm on them for no reason is sacrilege.

Points of Interest: While Reginald doesn't miss home he does miss his son. He still tries to write to him but fears his ex-wife burns all of his letters. He is actually a quarter French but hides this fact since the crew has an adamant dislike of the French. He has been having a long time affair with the Governor of Port Royal's young wife.
