Quite happy to get away from her mother and her new annoying boyfriend Kate got onto the plane as she took off towards her fathers house. She would be spending the month with him. She'd rather live with him even if she didn't really know who he was now, but with how the court was acting they wouldn't let her leave her mothers house until she was eighteen. Just a few months til. Standing tall at 5'8'', her hair a dark chocolate brown, Her eyes were a dark blue, sapphire almost. Her skin lightly tanned, wearing a white tank top with a pair of blue jeans and sandals.

A few hours had passed and she reached her destination. Grabbing her bags from the luggage claim she stepped outside and hailed a cab before being taken to his house. Paying the man the needed money and the tip she grabbed her bags and stepped out of the house. Moving up the driveway she made her way to the front door. She set her bags down onto the porch and she glanced around and she sighed softly. She hadn't seen him in about seven years now and she bit her lip, it was like she didn't know him. A bit worried that he would act weird around her and she rose her hand as she knocked on the door lightly and she turned her head to look out to the lawn as she waited.

Jim put down his magazine, which he hadn't really been reading anyway, as soon as he heard her knock. He practically ran to the door and peered through the peephole. It was her. It had been such a long time, but now she was back. He silently cursed his wife for making it so hard for him to visit over the years, though, he had to admit, a lot of it was his fault. He was suddenly nervous. He opened the door with a big smile and struggled for a moment for the right greeting, "Hi princ- I mean... Hi Kate. I'm glad to see you." He moved towards her, sort of going for a hug, then pulling back, then going ahead and giving her an awkward hug. "Here, let me get your bags."

"I hope your flight wasn't too bad," he said, making small talk as he walked down the hall towards the room he had made up for her. As he threw open the door and laid her bags on the bed, it was clear he had missed a little in his estimation. She was obviously a little to old for the way he had decorated for her visit. There were stuffed animals and a pink comforter covering the bed.

Her head turned as the door opened and she gave a soft smile as she saw her father though noticing the awkward approach for a hug soon dismissed. Before he finally stepped forward and lightly and as well again awkwardly hugged her. She hugged him back and patted his back softly. "It's good to see you too." She nodded and stepped into the house. She opened her mouth but he had already grabbed her bags and she bit her lip, following him down the hall to the bedroom. Walking in she was attacked with bright pink and animals and she chuckled, biting her bottom lip.

"My flight was all right. Some turbulance here and there." She shrugged and glanced around, her hand touching the bed before sitting on it. At least it was comfortable and long enough for her. She didn't mind the comforter so much, but the animals would go once she would head to sleep and she looked over to him and sighed, her hands in her short pockets, her shorts ending around her mid thighs. "How have you been, daddy?" She asked and looked up to him and smiled. She sighed and moved before wrapping her arms around his neck to give him a proper, long hug for all of the years that had passed by with out him, her head on his shoulder.

He melted when he felt her hug him, and the awkwardness was gone. He wasn't sure how she'd feel about him after all this time, but feeling her hug him like this made him realize she at least wasn't angry right now at him. He hugged her tight, trying to make up for years of not hugging her in one moment. He swallowed hard, not wanting to start crying or anything, "I've been fine honey. I'm sorry it's been such a long time. I've missed you. I should have come to see you so many times."

He ran his fingers through her sweet brown hair as she laid on his shoulder. He was so glad she had come to see him. Finally breaking the hug, and trying to make sure he didn't start breaking down, he quickly said, "You hungry, Kate? Want to go get some food?"

Her eyes closed as she felt his fingers running through her hair and she sighed softly, she had missed his touch through her hair. Like when she was younger, when he'd tuck her into bed. Run his fingers through her hair and lay with her til she fell asleep. She truly did miss him. She smiled and pulled back slowly, "It's okay. I understand now. I mean with the court.." She raised her right hand up and sighed, "And then...mother" She said before raising her left up and shrugging. "Can't get either of them to change their minds." She bit her lip before looking over to him. She nodded her head slowly.

"I'm starving. Peanuts don't really do much to fill you up." She cringed and shook her head as she ran her fingers through her long hair and she gave a bright smile up to him. He had changed a lot since she had seen him, he had grown quite handsome but he was a handsome man before, but his kindness was still there.

He nodded to her as she talked to him. He deeply appreciated how understanding she was being.

He was glad when the conversation turned to food as he was able to blink back some of the mist that was coming to his eyes. He looked over her and was struck in that moment by how much she had grown. She still had that cute face that he recognized as his little girl's, but the rest of her. He sighed a little as he had to admit to himself that she was now a young woman. Her hair, her clothes, and her form were all very different from the ten year old girl that she used to be. He cringed and his ears turned a little pink when he realized that she was probably quite sought after by the boys she knew. He had a sudden desire to punch a random teenage boy for looking at his princess, but he just smiled to himself, glad that he still felt like her father (and he hoped she still felt he was too).

Finally answering her after looking at her for several moments, he said, "Well what are you in the mood for? It's only about a 10 minute drive into town and we've got just about everything you might expect," then he remembered that she'd been traveling all day and added, "unless you want to clean up first. It's totally up to you, Kate."

And she had changed, at ten years old she was a thin girl though she was slightly pudgy. The pudginess stayed with her til she was about fifteen years old as she began to slowly loose the baby fat and her stomach began to grow flat. Also by the help of exercise, though now with her workouts almost every weeks she helped to keep her stomach toned up and nice. She sighed at his words and she bit her lip before she nodded her head slowly, "Yeah, I'd like to get cleaned up." She said and looked over to him before she gave him a kiss and left to her bedroom as she grabbed a new pair of panties and a bra.

Turning on her heel she left to the bathroom as she slipped in, getting undressed she started up the water and sighed as it fell upon her. It was nice to feel the hot water cleaning her up and about ten minutes had passed and she stepped out. Drying herself off she pulled on her matching black, what almost looked like laced panties and bra. She stepped out with her towel in hand, still drying her hair. "Dad.." She said as she moved down the hallway to find him in the living room and she smiled. "We're not going anywhere...fancy are we? So I don't have to get dressed up?" She asked, not thinking about that she was standing in front of her father, almost nude with something barely covering her breasts and her lower part.

He stared at her for a moment in shock, but he'd been a man for long enough that his eyes darted quickly back up to meet hers. He was blushing but hoped she didn't notice. "Nah," he said, "We've got Chili's and a pretty good pizza place. And some other stuff too, but nothing too fancy. What were you in the mood for?"

He found that he had to force himself to look back at the television to avoid noticing his daughter's form. He told himself that it wasn't that odd, she was used to living around another woman, not a man. In fact, he thought to himself pleasantly, this probably meant she was making herself at home. He just needed to... not look at her when she was running around after a shower... obviously. She most definitely was not a little girl anymore, and unfortunately for him, he hadn't had a girlfriend in quite a while. He fought the natural male reactions back and made sure nothing got... excited, this was his princess, after all. Even if she didn't want to be called princess anymore. Though he hadn't asked her if she still wanted him to call her that, he figured that she would say she was too old for it now.

She smiled softly, "Chili's. I haven't had that in forever. That sounds good to me." She said with a nod and looked up to him, seeing him looking at the t.v. now. She moved over and wrapped her arms back around his waist and pressed her head against his chest and sighed softly. "Even though I have only been here..what an hour or so?" She asked and looked up to him, "I like it here. I almost like it here more than mothers. More calm here.." She nodded her head and kept her arms around his waist. Though she glanced down and breathed in as she saw that she was in her bra and panties, having forgot about that and she swallowed. "Erm..I'll go get dressed. I'll be out in a second." She said with a nod.

She gave his cheek one more kiss and she turned around as she face flushed. Though he was handsome and her hands touched her cheek. She wasn't...flirting with him was she? She couldn't figure it out and she bit her bottom lip as she made her way back down the hall and into her bedroom. Pulling on a white tank top and a black skirt. It was short but not too short as it was about mid thigh and she pulled her boots back up, up to her knees and she had finished drying her hair and brushing it as she came out. "Ready." She said with a nod and a bright smile.

He let himself start shaking when she got up and went to her room. He had blushed bright red when she had hugged him dressed like that. Maybe he should talk to her about the effect that had on... men. He had felt his body starting to react and had almost panicked, but managed to maintain his composure. He decided he should let it go, and try to get used to it so he wouldn't react. She had just meant to be affectionate, he decided.

By the time she came back, he had managed to stop blushing and had calmed himself down. She looked great in her outfit, he thought. Then once again, he thought to himself that he needed a stick to beat boys off and away from her. He was still dressed in his jeans and a simple tee shirt. He slipped on some sneakers and grabbed his keys and wallet. "Alright let's head out," he said and led her out to his Cadillac Escalade. That was the one thing his lawyer had been able to do was get a reasonable money settlement, though Jim had always sent some extra money for Kate. He wasn't sure whether her mom used it on Kate or not, but at least at Christmas time, he sent it directly to his daughter.

She smiled and stepped out of the house with him and shook her head, "Nice car." She said and touched the hood before climbing inside of it. About ten minutes passed to get just into town and then another five just to get to the restaurant. After he parked the car she stepped out of it and shut the door behind her, she looked over to him and stepped up and onto the sidewalk by his side. Turning they walked into the restaurant and smiled at the hostess, though glaring a bit to see her eying him a bit. Though her glare dissipated and she cocked her brow, why was she offended? She sighed and shook her head as the woman led them to their booth in the corner.

Kate slid into her seat and crossed her legs as she took her menu. "What's good here? Mother never took us to dinner. As you know, she hates going out." She said with a soft sigh as her eyes peered over the food items.

"The burgers aren't bad. The cheese fries and southwest eggrolls are good," he said looking over the menu, then added, teasing her, "but I will disown you if you order their fajitas here in Texas." He smiled at her broadly. He hadn't notice the hostess looking him over, and he didn't notice the waitress checking him out and flirting with him when she came for their drink orders.

"Alright honey, a Dr. Pepper for you, and for the lady?" she said in a thick Texas drawl, turning to Kate. Though Jim didn't have a terribly thick accent, he was quite used to the sound of the various levels of Texan being spoken around them, ranging from city to country to outright redneck.

She cringed her face, "Fajitas?" She asked and laughed, "No thank you." She said and sighed as the waitress took their drink orders. "Oh Dr.Pepper as well please." She said with a nod as the woman nodded and left to the kitchen. "At least one more thing we have in common." She said and nudged his foot with hers and smiled, they both liked Dr.Pepper it was like the only one she could drink and she sat back with a soft sigh as she brushed her hair back. "So any lucky ladies in your life?" She asked and smiled. She cocked her head to the side, glancing over and stopping slightly to see a boy looking over in her direction.

She smiled and then peered back over to her father and sighed, biting her bottom lip as she looked to him. Obvious very curious as to if there was a woman that he was seeing or not.

He smiled and let out a small laugh when she asked him about his love life. "Well, if you must know, I broke up with the latest crazy woman about a month ago. My luck... well... No I'm not seeing anyone right now," he finally finished, blushing a little. Then realizing that she was probably dating by now, he took on a slightly teasing tone, "And what about you? Any boys I should be aware of, or sending threatening notes to?"

He looked over her shoulder and noticed a different boy who kept shooting furtive glances at her. This was very different from when she was 10, he decided. He even thought, for a frightening moment, that she might find a date down here for the month she was with him. He was going to have to get used to that idea.

"Oh." She said with a soft chuckle, "I think any woman would feel lucky to be called your woman." She said with a nod and her cheeks grew a soft pink, what was coming over with her. "Well, I'm lucky. I mean im not your woman. Erm, I'm your girl." She smiled brightly and glanced down as she rubbed her head. Though she laughed at his question and she sighed as she leaned back, "Mmm, nope." She said and looked to him. "As well with me. I broke up with my latest boyfriend about a few months ago." She shook her head.

"Cheated on me." She said softly, "Got the girl pregnant." She said and rolled her eyes a bit and tapped her fingers on the table as their drinks were brought over and she took a sip and sighed softly. "So no crazy boys." She smiled and shook her head slowly.

"You're sweet to say so, honey," he said, a little embarrassed. She was very sweet, he thought, not thinking anything more of it. His heart melted a little when she said she was his girl. She did seem a little nervous to him, though he chalked that up to the long time they had spent apart.

"Wow, Kate, I'm sorry," he said when she came to the subject of her boyfriend's lack of fidelity, looking up at her over the menu. "I.. I don't mean to sound all fatherly or anything, but guys are dogs honey. Dogs," he smiled at her sweetly and added in a slightly silly tone, "I know, cuz I are one." He thought to himself how true that really was, and thought for a brief moment about mentioning that even her father had started to react in a pig like way to her to make his point. He grinned just a little to himself, embarrassed for even thinking it.

"Well it's true, dad." She smiled softly and nodded her head, she was his girl. His little..princess as he had said before but she didn't mind. She loved her father dearly. "Don't apologize. Doesn't matter, I'm glad that he's gone." She smiled and grinned, she had cried a few days but had gotten over it when she realized that she deserved better and he just wasn't it.

She laughed softly to him and sighed before shaking her head, "Some are dogs. And you aren't one of them." She said and nudged him with her foot again. She smiled and took a sip of her drink before she leaned against the booth seat and closed her eyes. Though seeing the boy looking at her with now suggestive looks, winking and grinning she glared and looked away. She was here for her father, and she wanted to be with him the entire time.

He felt a small tingle run up his spine when she nudged his foot. He really wasn't used to having his girl around yet, he told himself. He noticed that she was glaring at someone and had just sort of figured out that there was a guy eying her when the waitress came back to take their orders. She had to lean forward as another waitress passed behind her with a loaded tray, and she noticeably took the opportunity to put a hand on one of his broad shoulders and lean on him. She was young, in her mid 20s probably, maybe that was why he was completely oblivious. Once she got off of his shoulder, she turned to both of them, "Well, have y'all decided yet?" She turned to Kate and said, "What can I get you sweetheart?"

Kates eyes narrowed as the woman moved to get out of the way, but in doing so she leaned practically on her father, almost smothering him. She gave a soft huff as the woman acted like she did nothing wrong. "Burger, medium well. Fries." She crossed her arms over her chest and watched the woman to see her looking him over and she bit her bottom lip before looking out of the window. She wanted to say something but what could she, what if she was something he wanted. But then..why should she care she's his daughter not a girl who should be with him....

Was she developing a crush on him? Her face flushed and she looked down.

When the waitress asked him for his order, he told her he'd like the Southwest Eggrolls. He handed her the menu and looked at Kate. He hadn't noticed the waitress's flirting, but he did notice the change in his daughter's face. "Is.. everything alright honey?" he asked carefully. At first she looked a little angry, then she looked embarrassed. He couldn't help himself as he reached over and patted her forearm softly.

She moved a bit as she felt his hand touch her arm and she sighed softly. "I'm fine." She said and glanced to the side. She almost couldn't even look at him, what was wrong with her? What if she started to flirt with him, worse was if it happened at home and she breathe in softly. "Just..how the woman was acting. That's all, nothing really." She said quickly and looked out of the window to push the subject away. She was jealous! And she sighed, sh ehad to do something about it.

He looked at his daughter puzzled for a moment, then looked in the direction the waitress had moved off in, figuring out what she meant. "Oh that? Oh come on honey, I'm sure she didn't mean anything," he started, grinning like it was funny to him to even consider it, "She's got to be half my age." He continued, "I don't honestly think she was...," then his voice dropped to a whisper as if he was saying something taboo, "you know... flirting with me."

She heard him and she cocked her brow as she watched him, "Oh come on dad.." She said and sighed. "Look at you. Any woman would go out of their way to flirt with you. I mean if I wasn't your daughter, I would." She said and then her face re-collected what she had just said and she almost lost her breath as her cheeks grew to a light rosy shade of pink. She swallowed and looked down, "Um, so what are we doing after this..?" She asked and looked to the side. Having just admitted she would flirt with him and she felt her throat tighten.

He listened to her, flattered a bit, but when she finished with the statement about herself he felt his cheeks get hot. He suddenly became very interested in looking at the bubbles in his Dr. Pepper. He was feeling warmth in his stomach that he had to admit was not just fatherly affection, but an excitement born from being flattered by a young woman.

"I don't know, I hadn't planned anything but going back to...," he started to answer as she changed the subject, but was cut off by the waitress who had arrived with the food.

"Alright, here we go... Can I get you two anything else?" she asked, but only looked at Jim. He shook his head and as she walked away, he looked at Kate. "Ok, maybe she was flirting a little."

She cocked her brow a bit and breathed, "You think?" She asked a bit sarcastically. She noticed the woman looking back at him and she mumbled a bit but then she stopped. She couldn't understand why was she so jealous? Shouldn't she be happy that a woman was flirting with him, that a woman was interested in him. And stop feeling annoyed just because she was interested in him.

Just then her eyes traveled up and she swallowed as it felt like the air had been knocked out of her. "Um..excuse me.." She said quietly and rather quickly as she shoved herself from the booth and quickly to the girls bathroom. She leaned on the sink counter and looked at her in the mirror and shook her head.

What the hell was wrong with her. Turning on teh water, she watered her face with some cool refreshing water and dried her face off. An odd feeling in the pit of her stomach and she touched it softly. She couldn't believe it..she was growing a crush on her own father and she breathed in. She really was sick, but she couldn't help it. Just looking at him she got butterflies as she slipped out of the bathroom slowly and back to the booth.
