As soon as one turned eighteen years old, they just seemed to vanish. No warning, no explanation, nothing. Just gone. Nobody knew where they went when they disappeared, nobody knew what happened to them, but everybody was fearful. It was a mystery that they couldn't solve, no matter how much they actually tried, they just didn't have any way to solve it. Many towns and cities had fallen over the course of time, but there were many that still stood. There were a number of different factions of children around the area, some preferred to live the life of violence, while some just wanted to figure out what was going on. Find a way to stop the next person from vanishing, or even just figure out what was going on in general.
In one of the small cities that had been turned into a base camp for a number of the children, a young woman with platinum blonde hair was sitting behind a computer and just typing some stuff in. Her laptop binged at her and she was looking at another screen, a screen that displayed a calender with all of the birthdays of those that lived within that particular city. It seemed like tomorrow was somebody's eighteenth birthday. Which meant that they were going to see what they could learn.
"Ian. Go and find Rose on the north side. It is her eighteenth tomorrow. Lets get her ready for tomorrow, and make sure that she can say her good byes. Also take these glasses with you, have her put them on. There is a small camera in there that directly broadcasts to my system. I'm hoping that maybe, where ever she goes will be caught on video." the young woman spoke with a small sigh before she was twirling around in her chair and looking at the male that had been standing by the door.
Mihaela Thomas was a bit of a tech goddess in their little city, she was the one that took care of surveillance and keeping track of everything. Supplies, birthdays, she kept track of who was living where and with who. She was however getting to her feet when she saw the familiar truck approaching the gate on the monitor. This had her giving a smile, happy to see that their hunting team was back. And from what it appeared, it seemed like they had found some other children that had nowhere to go. Despite that fact though, Mihaela didn't leave her little area. It was pretty rare that she actually left, usually only if she needed to go and repair something, or even if she needed to help with something medical.
Shockingly while she was a tech goddess, she had quite the bit of knowledge in the medical field. Helped that when her mother had been around, the sixteen year old girl was always learning something new. She read books, researched on the internet, following the dream of wanting to become like her mother, a wonderful doctor.
