Strange things are happening.
In one blink of an eye, everything changes.
In mere seconds, all adults are just gone.
Darker things are about to unfold.
What will happen?

Who knew why and who knew where but Adam hadn't even been able to say good bye to his friends and family before they had been taken from him. New friends made and lost in the course of the months, distance from home grew. Where was he going? Adam didnt know cause he had no plan.

As soon as one turned eighteen years old, they just seemed to vanish. No warning, no explanation, nothing. Just gone. Nobody knew where they went when they disappeared, nobody knew what happened to them, but everybody was fearful. It was a mystery that they couldn't solve, no matter how much they actually tried, they just didn't have any way to solve it. Many towns and cities had fallen over the course of time, but there were many that still stood. There were a number of different factions of children around the area, some preferred to live the life of violence, while some just wanted to figure out what was going on. Find a way to stop the next person from vanishing, or even just figure out what was going on in general.

In one of the small cities that had been turned into a base camp for a number of the children, a young woman with platinum blonde hair was sitting behind a computer and just typing some stuff in. Her laptop binged at her and she was looking at another screen, a screen that displayed a calender with all of the birthdays of those that lived within that particular city. It seemed like tomorrow was somebody's eighteenth birthday. Which meant that they were going to see what they could learn.
"Ian. Go and find Rose on the north side. It is her eighteenth tomorrow. Lets get her ready for tomorrow, and make sure that she can say her good byes. Also take these glasses with you, have her put them on. There is a small camera in there that directly broadcasts to my system. I'm hoping that maybe, where ever she goes will be caught on video." the young woman spoke with a small sigh before she was twirling around in her chair and looking at the male that had been standing by the door.

Mihaela Thomas was a bit of a tech goddess in their little city, she was the one that took care of surveillance and keeping track of everything. Supplies, birthdays, she kept track of who was living where and with who. She was however getting to her feet when she saw the familiar truck approaching the gate on the monitor. This had her giving a smile, happy to see that their hunting team was back. And from what it appeared, it seemed like they had found some other children that had nowhere to go. Despite that fact though, Mihaela didn't leave her little area. It was pretty rare that she actually left, usually only if she needed to go and repair something, or even if she needed to help with something medical.
Shockingly while she was a tech goddess, she had quite the bit of knowledge in the medical field. Helped that when her mother had been around, the sixteen year old girl was always learning something new. She read books, researched on the internet, following the dream of wanting to become like her mother, a wonderful doctor.

Air pollution was no ones friend, His lungs burned in this city. The place covered in dirty cars, broken homes... and feral creatures. Adam had learned to stay silent, to move slowly when the creatures where near by. Mostly dogs, starving and in pack mode. Sometimes cats, but those were rare to actually try and attack. Was nice to have one follow him, until a dog got it..... Which he was hiding from now. Yes, they had good sense of smell but this dirty city... and the new warning siren of the nearby reactor... hid him well enough as the dogs ran for their lives.
He would too, he knew that noise from tests. Dont ignore it.

This area.... FOR MILES will be a hot zone.... and he needed to leave it fast!

While Adam was running from the dogs, a truck drove through the city slowly. There was somebody sitting in the back of the truck with a gun in hand, just gazing around for a moment in time. Just others from the survivor's city nearby, who just happened to be doing their usual rounds to see if there was anybody stuck in this death trap.
"Hey I got something over here." one of the people in the truck spoke and somebody else was pointing towards where a few dogs seemed to be huddled around. Well that was a bit problematic, but not all at once. The person that had the gun in the back was aiming towards where the dogs were at and shooting near them.

Oh boy! The shot was at ear level and now his head was ringing.... But hey... no dogs. "Watch it...." he murmured out with his hands up. Defensive. "The siren, we need to run...." he pointed to the distance, "Thanks for getting rid of them by the way, but can I hitch a ride?" Adam asked, jittery and ready too run. He did NOT want to be around the reactor when it melted down.

"Get in, and lets get going." somebody spoke from the front seat, and the person that was in the back of the truck was holding out a hand to help him up into the bed of the truck. Once Adam was in, then they were taking off to head back towards their own safe haven. "Radio ahead to let them know that we found a survivor." the driver was commenting to his passenger, who was giving a nod of their head, and was soon enough radioing ahead, and informing them of what was going on. It was a woman that happened to answer on the other end, "Thanks for letting us know, I'll be watching for your return."

The sirens changed their tune to a long wail now for a few minutes before a squeal and they went dead.... Radiation melting them... "Schneller jetzt ... bitte ..." he patted the drivers head rest in a slightly restless fashion... but his words were in German as he reverted to his native tongue- family taught him both.

*faster, now, please

The driver didn't seem to respond to him at all, was just focusing on driving. But he did pick up the speed and just looking gazing around as he drove. Luckily they weren't overly far away from their home, and they had all taken precautions for when that reactor did blow. But they honestly didn't think that they were going to be affected by it, they were still quite the distance away from it.

The gates to the place they were going though.... That was it? Adam's hand squeezed the seat but once they stopped he jumped out. They needed walls NOW.... At least til the wave of radiation following them blew through. Nothing will grow though and he doubted that the wildlife would fare any better.
"Now, out." He was flighty on his feet but he stayed at the trucks door as he waited to help his own helpers. Now that he saw them... they were young.... Why didnt this bother him???

"No need to seem so worried. This is only a cover up here." the driver spoke as he was climbing out of the truck and stretching a bit, then looked towards a few others as they wandered over. Some of them were going to the back of the truck to get some of the things that were in back out. After that one of the others was giving a wave of their hand before they spoke, "One of us should probably go and let Mihaela know that we are back." "No point. She knows." the driver spoke and was pointing towards a camera before he was giving a wave. Nope the young woman on the other side of the camera knew everything that went on within the city. "Well I suppose we should sound the alarm and retreat down below." somebody was commenting and soon enough an alarm was sounding. Off into the underground city ruins that they had discovered and fixed up. A perfect hiding place from when there were raids from bandits.

Ok, Moving, Moving was good. A load on his back of his own stuff and a load of what ever they shoved at him and Adam was hurrying after the lead when the nearest sirens blew. Oh, that was their real worry cue.
"Who knows? I dont know who that is." His voice was hurried as were his feet; but the German youngster was polite enough. He had to be. Charming was the only way he got through deadly situations; who knew what these people did...

"Don't worry, you'll meet her soon enough. She is our goddess here, keeps everything in order." the male that was showing Adam to the underground area so that they were safe. Sure that reactor blowing would result in damage above but ultimately that wasn't going to be troublesome, considering they were stocked up underground. Something that had been done intentionally.
Once they were down below he was gesturing for Adam to follow him a different direction compared to those that were filtering into the city itself. He was merely leading Adam off to another one of the buildings that was down below and tapping on the door, somebody else opening it up so that they could enter.

"Zach, you are twenty minutes late." a feminine voice spoke which had the male giving a faint chuckle and soon enough a young woman was walking out of the back room, her platinum blonde hair a mess at that point in time. All around the room that they were lay various electronics, most of them useless, although Mihaela seemed to be able to get them to work.
"Oh a newcomer, welcome to our humble little city. I'm Mihaela, nice to meet you." Mihaela chimed in a cheerful before she was accepting the bag that Zach was carrying with a small little coo of delight.

The path they took was a long tunnel... a bunker it seemed. Yet, it split and he was lead away as some one took his carried load and he continued after the driver.
A Kid still really.... and so was this person.
"Um... Hello. Miss Mi-kay-la? Did I say that right? Im sorry if it was wrong; my name is Adam...." he offered his name, his hand, and hiked his own bag higher on to his back. The walls here seemed...to be closing in. Adam never really was an inside kid, learning to camp with his family... Glad he had had a tent for a while before it was stolen. But now... inside for a long duration...
"Thank you for letting me stay."
