The party was a bit boring and stuffy but she made it. The music was soft and people danced across the floor and she just watched from the top of the stairs. The house was beautiful and just like she remembered as a child she just hadn't seen Bruce yet.

Her dress was a soft power blue it matched her eyes and her brown hair was pulled into a bun on her head. Her figure was slim and her chest was a perfect C her legs long and her smile soft she was just here to see him and no one else. She just hated to play the waiting game.

He stood on the stairway talking to a number of men. They were a mix of investors and his fathers friends who had helped start the company. All of them wanting to be heard, all of them with ideas and proposals, meetings and dinners for him to attend. Pulling back eventually he flashed them a friendly smile. "Gentlemen, its a party, todays not work time"He said in a carefree tone before he made his way down the stairs. He wore a black suit with a black and baby blue pinstripe pattern on it, the baby blue tie brought out his similarly colored eyes. He wore the suit slightly loose to hide his well muscled physique beneath. Greeting and waving here and there he made his way through the crowd.

She saw him moving down the and moved quickly threw the crowd to catch him. She hated these heels they didn't help her chase at all she didn't wanna meet him and break her neck th ough he might remember her more if she did. "Bruce!" She said about half way there and slipped off her shoes and moved down the stairs to catch up and giggled almost bumping into him. "Sorry I um..I'm sure you don't remember me but I'm Jennifer Breaux we were friends as kids." She said looking in his eyes as she slipped her shoes on with a blush "Sorry hard to run down the stairs and look beautiful with heels on."

He stopped and turned back to look at her. He cocked a brow briefly as a sense of familiarity came over him. His eyes scanned over her before she reached him and he gave her a friendly smirk. "I do remember you, I haven't seen you in..well its been years." He said with a slight laugh and a nod before shaking his head. "I'd say you accomplished your running and looking wonderful quite admirably." He added as he gave a slow laugh. "What have you been up to?"

She watched his eyes and blushed softly feeling as if he was looking threw her. "I'm glad I couldn't forget you." She couldn't think he'd changed more then she could see there was something she couldn't put her finger on. "Thanks you have no clue how hard it is to run in heels." She pushed some hair from her eyes and looked to him "Mostly college and running my dads resturaunt here in Gotham though I'd like to do something for myself the family business really isn't my thing."

He laughed softly and nodded waving to her slowly. "Mm I see I'm glad we ran into each other again. Still in college? Oh I just graduated not too long ago." He replied slowly as he nodded slowly before he gave a snicker. Making his way back slightly he offered his hand to her. "Would you like to step into the study for a bit of privacy?" He asked her slowly now interested in knowing more as well as getting away from the investors and media adamantly searching for him.

"So am I and I'm almost done." She smiled and giggled lightly and kept her eyes on his and took his hand. "Sure it is a bit hard to hear with the noise and I don't feel like sharing such good company." She smiled and couldn't help but think this would be a dream or like Cinderella. "So what have you been up to since we last talked?" She said trying not to sound to much like a giggling highschool girl.

Laughing softly he pulled her into the study. The room was dark lit by a low fire that shone over the portrait of his parents above the fireplace. Standing before her he laughed. "Can I get you a drink?" He asked her as he made his way over towards the liquor cabinet within the room. "I've been running my father's company and mostly just trying to settle down more in Gotham."

She slipped inside with him and smiled "No thanks and I did't think you got ladies liquored up so quick." She teased and giggled lightly looking to the picture "He'd be proud of you." She turned back to Bruce "yeah I've been looking to settle down and find my own career and maybe a boyfriend just all these bad blind dates lately are making me wonder if I'll ever find a decent guy."

He laughed softly and pulled a carafe of pineapple juice from the nearby fridge before filling a glass. "A drink could mean anything, the beverages in this house aren't all alcoholic despite what the press may say." He added with a laugh. "Yes Gotham is rife with those who wish to date without being able to find happiness alone much less trying to form it with others." He said slowly before he sat in an armchair by the fire.

"Oh sorry." She smiled and blushed softly watching him and just not sure what to say when he wasn't there she had tons of things now it all just disappeared. "Please the press makes my life more fun I'm totally boring I don't drink have wild parties or change guys every other week they have nothing." She laughed and walked to a chair and sat down "I wish I could find someone I'd be thrilled ..You wouldn't know anyone would you?" She watched him walk over and sit down.

"The press find things to make up." He said slowly knowing she was talking about him and his supposed partying ways. Leaning back in his seat he slowly sipped from his glass as he thought. "Its not a big deal to have someone, why not be alone for a while?" He asked knowing full well the answer she wanted but being unable to commit, he had heard there would be a string of burglaries this week he didn't need to have to cancel out on dates.

"I know I'm tempted to send them something if I had the imagination." She smiled and pushed her dress down a little not wanting to show to much leg."Well I just wanted to catch up with you that's all if you're busy I understand I mean you're a big businessman now." She giggled and pushed some hair from her eyes "No time so us classy ladies."

"Ah well I do keep busy." He said with a light hearted chuckle before shaking his head. Sighing he moved back slightly before he ran his fingers through his hair and slowly sighed while looking to her. "In any case, we should get back lest the media think something." He said as he looked to the clock.

"I know you really shouldn't you'l be gray before thirty five." She teased and watched him seeming like something else really bothered him beside what they thought. "Oh I guess I mean I don't care but I figured the crazy fangirls would get restless."

"No its more of things would be invented." He said slowly before he stood. "Its more about the inconvenience to you than me." He added while shaking his head. Placing the glass on the table he headed for the door.

"Oh well it doesn't bother me." She chuckled and stood up with a smile "I don't pay attention the tabloids or media." She fixed her hair and walked with him to the door "Though I did have fun sneaking off." She fixed his hair a lil mussed by the chair.

"Mm sneaking is often fun." He said as he brushed her hair from her eyes before he opened the door bowing slightly. "And now, back to the party." He said with a soft laugh his eyes meeting hers with a slight smile.

"Yeah one day we'll have to really sneak off." She blushed feeling his hand on her face and touching her hair feeling goosebumps and then giggling as he opened the door. "Yeah but it wont be so bad together right?"

"A number of women here are vying for my attention, so far you're the only one thats gotten it, I'd say you're doing well." He replied to her with a soft laugh and a nod of his head before he walked out behind her pulling up the door as he went before slipping off to speak with a group of investors.

"Yeah I'd think so." She giggled and smiled to him and stepped out and looked at the people and blushed not sure what to do now. She watched him walk off and sighed happily and just watched him not wanting to be a fangirl but couldn't help it.

He talked and joked and nodded with the city's richest and finest each making him a bit more bored than the last. All of them wanted something, time, money, consideration, favors. Sighing he eventually watched as the party died down till only a few stragglers were left who Alfred began to round up.

She was watching and listening and soon had one coversation for herself then slowly drifted over to him. "Wow it's so quiet I think I hear agian." She giggled and looked to him "Might I ask for a ride? Someone took my taxi." She blushed and looked to him "Or I could stay with you and help clean up? Least I could do."

He nodded to her slowly and shrugged. "You can pick, lots of guest rooms, or you can simply take a car, keys are in the hallway next to the garage just bring it back with a full tank" He said with a tone lacking any sort of sarcasm or irony as he made his way about watching the temporary wait staff he had hired pick up before one by one they too vanished.

"I'll take a room I still haven't gotten used to driving here." She giggled and smiled lightly "Aww I was gonan sleep in your room." She said with a cute little pout and obviously was joking and yawned she looked sleepy. "I'm glad I got to see you again I missed you." She watched with him and laid her head on his arm kind of dozing off.
