With a mock pout the strange girl leaned back, placing leather boots upon the table. The jangle of metal was heard. "That' terrible." She breathed, though the sentiment didn't reach the poised expression. "So was he torn limb from limb by a dog? Blood seeping from every pore as it burst into the air like a fog of death?" She inquired casually, abruptly leaning forward with a sweet smile. The thud of her chair echoing in the emptiness.
Vox stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand upon Karita's shoulder. "Thats enough of that." She scolded the girl, irritated that this rift raft was allowed within his home. The girl blinked at him, pulling at her braid to idly stroke at its ends. "I was just curious..." she mused as she blinked innocently.
Flexing his fingers the Vampire caused Evey to squeal as he sidestepped, barely missing Riley's assault. If the man hadn't announced himself previously it probably would have ended badly. "Ah.." he said smoothly, "The shadow..." Corking an eyebrow the cloaked man smiled, revealing white fangs. "I see you are in fact a shadow... a shadow of what you once were." Yellow eyes peered towards Evey, as her hand dug at his fingers, unwilling to remain a damsel in distress. "Its a pity..." the man continued, before a sharp curse escaped him.
Evey had maneuvered her slim fingers between his grasp and her neck, pulling his finger away from her throat so swiftly a resounding crack was heard. Suddenly his grip loosened as he flung her to the building nearby. The action was so swift Evey was unable to catch herself as her head bounced against the brick. The bridge of her nose as well as her temple cracked with blood, soaking the white fur of her hood as it dripped down her rounded chin. Sliding down the wall she curled her legs under her as she caressed her face, the sticky red liquid coating her fingers, as she smeared it upon her face, attempting to find the most prominent wound.
The vampire eyed her crumpled figure with detest as he turned towards Riley, "Unexpected you'd be attached to that. At least it will now be more convenient for me to employ you."
