It is, it is a wonderful thing to be the pirate queen (for LFP and Blurugirl)

Jack paused as he looked at her and shook his head, "I don't need any other... human things," he said to her, "Listen, the people here have no idea what the hell you're doing, but if you're REALLY big into this lord of the rings, we could get a lot more from people for trade. General goods are hard to come by in camp so you might be able to get stuff like posters or shirts... maybe even props?" he said curiously, "Or... more books," he said pointing to the one she was holding.

He shook his head, "I don't wanna eat more, I'll get sick if I keep eating, even if I want too," he said ,"If you are... willing to get my hand fixed though, I appreciate it," he said to her, "I'm glad to hear the rest of the galaxy isn't as... cruel as the Karfkab's...." he said to her, "Or I guess... more just pragmatic... whats your race like?" he asked her curiously as he seemed to relax a little at the diner table, "Or would you rather just go watch those movies I gave you so you can... do whatever you wanna do with those. What was it again?" he asked her, "You're acting like these things are a holy grail," He said before pausing, "Human saying, sorry," He said.

Etar'ipy made an exasperated sigh before she responded, "Jack, I love how creative you humans were before the....well, before. Anyway, back when you had a homeworld, you were a creative people. Now...well, now you're the kernels of creativity that other people can plant on other worlds. You just said yourself you know nothing except that backwater world you grew up on. And not much of that. To be blunt, you grew up in a camp made up of a displaced species, on a secondary world of a second rate galactic power. I don't need the scavenged remains of that world that no longer belongs to you. I have an idea. An idea I can adapt to my people. And any goods we need manufactured, we have the facilities to produce, in a fashion and manner that well meet the standards and desires of my people. Now, if I want more information or material for this Lord of the Rings thing, I will tell you. For now, we'll get you down to sickbay."

As she escorted Jack to her automed, she answered, "What are my people like? We're the explorers of the galaxy. Not just the stars and planets and such. We love discovering other cultures, and embracing them into our own. Well, as you can see by my outfit---" she twirled around, making it swirl "---we enjoy putting our own touches on the cultures we encounter. That's where an entrepreneur like myself can make her mark. Finding a kernel like this Lord of the Rings and making it something my people will become fascinated by it. Retelling the story to make it our own."

Etar'ipy and the human walked into a sterile compartment. "My sickbay. Let's get you scanned, healed, and then you can sleep comfortably in here while I decide where we go next."

Jack hesitated, "You guys just like stuff like..." He paused, "I mean... I... wrote stuff, when I was younger, little short stories about the people in those stories..." He said to her, "I drew things... images... there were other kids in my place, they had... a game. It had a book, and you played with Dice,' He said to her softly, "Maybe you can find things in that book too or market that?" He asked her, "I don't mean to be... ya know," he said, "A stick in the mud," He told her, "But there is so much around here," He said.

Jack watched her as she lead him into the compartment. He looked around, "Okay... I guess," he said to her as he let the machines scan him over. He hesitated as the machine went over his body a few times before asking for his hand. He gave it to them and winced as he was pricked as the machine sucked up some of his blood. He pulled his hand back and shook it as the machine wirred and worked itself up, "So... like... I don't really see a doctor except once a year... this thing understands I'm a human though right?" He said nervously.

Erat'ipy nodded. "It was programmed for humans before I left for this world. On the off chance I had a reason to bring one of your species on board. Which I did," she said with a smile and a nod at Jack. "Don't get too excited, though. For instance, it can fix your cybernetic arm, but can't regrow you a new one. For that trick, we'll need to take you to a first class Healer. So you just stretch out, relax, let the automed start patching you up, and I'm going to start doing some research about where I can heal you, and then where I can drop you off. If you need to find somewhere on the ship, just ask it it to light up the way. And don't worry about getting into trouble. You won't be able to go to anywhere except the safest of areas. Anyway, research to do. So catch a nap after the automed fixes you up. I'll look you up for supper."

Jack nodded at her as the machine whirred and buzzed. He let her leave before he turned to the machine and sighed, "Shower?" he said to it as it lit up and opened a small area. He stripped down and got into the shower as the machine continued to scan and look him over. He cleaned himself off, scrubbing for ab it before the machine beeped at him, "Contaminants found... eliminating," it said as the water heated up and he let out a cry. It quickly died down and he sighed as it did, but as he came out he found his clothes were gone.

"Computer, what happened to my clothing?" he said as the computer beeped back at him.

Contaminants found on clothing. Clothing was unable to be cleaned, clothing has been eliminated." it said.

He cursed as he shook his head, "Make me clothes then!" he said angrily. The machine buzzed, and scanned him again before something deposited some rather tight clothing for him. He squeezed into it uncomfortably before a bed was produced, "Please nap while I finish my scans." He sighed as he got into the bed, which had been more comfortable than he first thought, and quickly fell asleep.

In the ship's control room, Etar'ipy was looking over her navigational charts, thinking about what to do with Jack. Then an idea occurred to her. She did some computing and smiled.

There was a human refugee camp located on a planet in the Dikobraz Union. All things considered, the refugee camp was probably one of the nicest ones in known space. Which is why Etar'ipy hadn't visited it in the first place. The humans there didn't live in squalor like they did in Karfkab space. A few humans had even begun assimilating into Dikobrazian society. Some were saying that in two or three generations, the refugee camp would eliminate itself.

The Dikobrazians were a gentle people who nevertheless were not ones to be crossed, if you could avoid it. So anything that could be gained from humans in Dikobrazian space had long been picked over. And humans there felt no compulsion to give up family heirlooms.

Etar'ipy did some calculations and smiled. She could take Jack to a healer to get his arm regenerated, and then call in a favor that would get a spot in the refugee camp in the Dikobraz Union. She'd even leave him a few credits in his pocket before leaving.

All in all, this was going to be a good trip, Etar'ipy decided. She was doing a good deed, and if she was lucky, she would be a founder of the next big fashion statement for her race.

"Computer, say status of the human," she asked.

"The human is asleep and recuperating in the sickbay," the computer responded.

"Advise when the human is awake," she instructed the computer, then began filing her departure route with the local authorities.

Jack slept for a few hours as the computer finished scanning him. Besides being malnourished and having a few little sicknesses that were easily taken care of with some anti-biotics. Other than that he was rather healthy. Or at least healthy enough. He woke a few hours after he'd fallen asleep, grumbling and rubbing his back. He wasn't used to a plush and nice bed. It didn't agree with him, strangely enough.

He grumbled as he swung his feet over the side of the bed as the machine dispensed a water cup and some pills. He looked at them before simply taking everything as asked using the water to help. He sat there, trying to figure out what all had happened. IT was so fast that it was a little shocking. The computer beeped at him and told him he had a bruised rib, probably from the stick he took the back earlier. He sighed as he took the shirt that he'd been wearing off and a bot came out to spray him as she walked in. He turned to look at her as the machine sprayed something on him to try to help him heal.

He stared at her, tight pants, shirtless and his hands over his head and he blushed a little, "Uhh... sorry, the computer insisted on this," He said to her softly, "Etar'ipy was it? I just... wanted to thank you again for all this. I think I've got my head on straight now... I think. I honestly hope," he said with a sigh. He stared at her a little, "Are... is there something I can do to... help out around here tonight? I wanna feel useful, "he said to her.

Up in the control room, Etar'ipy was finalizing a flight plan when the computer advised her that the human was awake.

"A tad busy right now," she told the computer. "Advise the human I will be busy with preflight procedures, and that he is welcome to return to the meal room. I'll try to join him there."
