Express elevator that directly led up to the penthouse opened its metal doors on the ground floor. Host of the evening trotted out of the cabin. Platform heels she wore added another 5 inches to her height as if she needed it. Already standing 5’8” tall without them, the woman had a grandiose figure. Thick thighs, long legs, she had the body of an athlete. However, one that gained some curves to her body upon quitting an active sport. That was true in fact. The sleek brunette who hosted tonight’s event used to play on the national volleyball team. She still liked to score against her opponents though. Her beautiful face hadn’t aged in the last 15 years at all. Like any vampire who carried the curse, her life had changed drastically after she turned. She wasn’t very old, and certainly wasn’t from an outmoded era, but still ambitious enough to secure a high position in vampire society. Long steps of the dashing brunette reminded of a gallant bull as the woman strode across the marble tiles. Dark shades of her makeup sharpened her charming visage. Her hair was jet black. The woman wore it in a high pony, the long strands reaching down to her waist and vigorously swaying with every long step she took.
“Hello, dear… Everything’s fine?.. Nice to see you!.. Glad you could make it!..” Alexa generously emitted fake smiles as she walked around the grand lobby of the building. Being tonight’s host, it was her duty to greet the guests. Some of them she liked better, and some thoroughly disliked. The younger vampire held more ambition than an older one. She seemed pretty alive for a dead woman. Every step she took screamed confidence. A backless, black dress hugged her form nicely, inviting one to admire her well-built figure. Her long legs moved in opaque tights. She was an eye catching woman, easy to admire, even easier to feel envious. Towering taller than most of her guests, it was easy to spot the grandiose brunette among a crowd. “My honor guest!” The woman walked past a man. “How is business?” She asked another. “Be my guest, please.” Alexa showed the way to the elevator for another group of her guests.
Just by their skin color, it was easy to guess who was a vampire and who was not. It certainly was a dangerous place to step into, standing in the middle of so many exotic creatures of dark. There was a strict dress code. Men wore suits and tuxedos, where the ladies were in fabulous cocktail dresses. The lobby had a high ceiling, a grand chandelier hanging down in the middle. None of the guests were very talkative, but they didn’t mind talking with the assertive host of the party. And Alexa had something to say to all of them. Like any hospitable host, she seemed to do her best to greet them. “Fabulous as always.” Some of the guests had come a long way to attend the event. After all, no single town did harbor so many vampires. “After you. I’ll join you up there.” To spend the rest of the night, most of the visitors had already taken the elevator. “Nice dress.” From what they wore, how they acted, it was easy to wonder if there was a vampire who wasn’t as wealthy. There were in fact, although only the resourceful ones could survive long. “How is wood business dear?” Alexa passed by another guest, invented to ride the elevator herself.
“I sold it years ago.” Sarrah replied back. The comment made the sleek brunette turn around. She was an imposing lady. Even before turning into a vampire, she could lift someone up and still had a free hand to finish them off.
“All that fortune. Yet none to spare for our cause.” The beautiful host blamed her redheaded guest. Her dark lips still offered a smile though. “Glad you came.” Alexa greeted the woman once again. Looking down both at the opposite vampire and her servant. Her sharp gazes focused on Aly next, unable to find the thief’s eyes. As instructed, the thief seemed to be more interested in the dark flooring under her feet. She grasped the girl from the chin, slowly tilting Alegra’s head up with trivial effort. “Enjoying my legs, dear?” Alexa asked the human. With that, long haired woman sharply turned around, her heels clicking across the lobby while she headed towards the elevator herself.
