[WB] Hell on Earth

Introductory
699687868040fb5c96b2749f4225a204.jpg
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
— Revelation 6:7-8

After two decades, the war for humanity has already came and passed with a cost on both fronts and a toll upon mortality that was caught between the battle of good and evil. In the end, it was the demons who triumphed by finding a spell powerful enough to seal heaven to prevent any more divine reinforcements intruding upon their plans. Now Earth is finally their playpen and there has been many of their kin dreaming of an escape from their once damned Haven. Still, requirements are necessary for them to make due with living in the mortal realm and lingering angelic presences are also a danger as are certain factions of their kin who may align themselves to the Prime Evils to attempt to gain more favor. Even claimed, Earth is still a dog eat dog world, more so than ever than before.

Though humanity is one of the commodities upon Earth these days. Mortals are required for any to take possession of, otherwise beings may just hover around without much interaction in their more spiritual forms. This has made the value of live humans extremely high and many demons have begun to cultivate and farm these individuals by granting them places to continue to live and thrive. Some demons have even left mortals alone completely in various cities or towns so that they can continue to populate; before harvest season. Again, humanity is what grounds any otherworlder to the mortal plane.

Not all humans are allowed such a privilege, not all that survived the chaos between the former angel and demon war may escape the hell from the demons that targeted their cities. Life is not a paradise for the mortals who may share living with such entities; it is an adjustment at best. There is no telling when their love ones would be corrupted and turned into the next meatsuit for a new demon to wear. There is also no telling of the despicable acts that the demons may force upon the humans. Still, this doesn’t always mean all humans share that terrible fate in the same city of demons. Some of the beasts may take upon mortals as simple serfs or servants to fulfill their needs. Not all of hell’s creatures are twisted and sadistic.

So thus begins the demon reign upon Earth and how mortality copes with such. It has already been five years and many places upon the Earth are still in shambles; but the present city dubbed Proserpina is steadily recovering from the devastation of the divine war. The demon governing over the provenience of these mortals has made it an effort for them to repair and restore their homes; all the while keeping up the commodity and value the mortals possess. The city has became a no killing zone; meatskins cannot be so needlessly wasted and it isn’t rare for hunting parties to be sent out to other areas to cultivate more mortals for the provenience. Again, humans are valuable; whether farming for their souls or turning them into suits for other demons or fallen to wear. There is also just the collecting of them as slaves/pets or additional hands for the rebuilding process.

FAQ
Enochian is an ancient language of the angels. There are many sigils of power that can affect angelic beings; although not everyone may be familiar with such. Also, not all angels may know the language; just as it is similar to fallen and even demons being familiar with such. As for the sigils themselves, all of Enochian 'magic' is used with that of either regular carvings for lesser powerful spells(such as warding a room to hide it from angels/demons or hiding ones self but that is done upon the own body) or blood symbols painted along objects, usually and mostly from the one invoking them although they can still be done with other blood for more powerful spells (the banishment of angels, an angel/demon trap, angel depowering sigils, etc.) Of course, random doodles do not work, every sigil has a particular design. There are also carvings for various power effects.
Hell itself is a very primal destination, all demons and fallen are more than familiar with the lack of proper technological, being on Earth can even be called a 'blessing.' Hell can be classified at highest of medieval, iron-age advancement; though there are many places in lesser states than that, much more primitive. As a result, it is not a surprise that most of the world isn't on the path of recovering as many demons do not want to learn or care how to in other parts of the mortal realm.
Heaven holds a mixture of technological levels and magic. For starters, there are many rooms in lengthy hallways that are individual's personal heavens. Not many mortals can find the exit to their heaven, but the fail safe is always there in each room that they are 'locked,' up within. Computers are used for proper soul management; although ironically enough angels still use medieval crafted blades for their weapons.
Angel blades are mainly that of divine daggers that are capable of killing most(not all) supernatural beings. There are older variants of the blades as well, such as spears and swords; but such are rare these days either owned by higher rank angels or those that had been around for very long times; such as the dawn of creation.
Hellhounds are naturally demonic hounds that come in various sizes. Of course, they are invisible to those that may not be of a supernatural nature or those that do not have means to be able to see supernatural entities. Hellhounds serve many roles, usually that of guard dogs and more importantly hunting beasts that seek out mortals when their due is up if they sold their souls in a deal. Most hellhounds are of general canine size, although there has been rarer breeds that have been tall as a horse. They are still lesser demons and as such share most black smoke weaknesses in being dealt with.
Crossroad demons are that of pactmakers, usually winning over souls for their gain or through the gain of someone else that they may work under. They are the main thing one thinks of when making a deal with the devil; however, they mainly deal with mortals. It isn't unheard of for crossroad demons to make other pacts with different supernatural entities, but a pact itself is binding contract that can't be cut around with in corners. It is also a punishable crime for crossroad demons to use outside forces to kill a mortal before their contract is due.

Human/Damned

God's favorable creations. Creatures that were granted free will, a source that led to jealousy, betrayal, and sin. Their imperfection was the result of other monstrosities, though from whose hand it is still hard to say. Humans are the most frail of the races. They are mortal, their lifespans are short, if they are lucky to thrive for a hundred years and more so several more after that mark. Of course, not all are burden with lifespan of mortality, there will always be those that are greedy to seek to lengthen their lives through whatever means and pacts with demons have existed far before the rift of Hell has been opened. It is from their short life spans that they can be just as dangerous, that they understand their mortality well above all other creatures. Their free will also allows them to pursue whatever they want, the same free will that has granted them to advance through the ages from wielding clubs and dressing in loins to now adorn in clothing and booming with technology. Still, their advances has not been enough to save them from their fate and many of their kind has perished during the war of good and evil. It has not fully improved either with the victory of Hell, but their worth and value has kept what survivors of their kind alive across the world.

The Damned are mostly those who either sold or lost their souls. Individuals that lost their souls are a bit more apathetic in persona, the lack of a soul leaves them incapable of providing proper morale judgment in actions. Not all damned are soulless as it isn't an easy feat to leave mortals with soulless bodies that may still be alive. Such takes the effort of powerful demons at play. Still, just like humans, damned are mortal and can just as easily be killed unless they made a pact otherwise to reduce or abolish the frailty of their mortality.

There are also the Tainted, who are the offspring between hosts controlled by demons. These abominations are sheer proof of the demons rule over the world. They do not possess mortal souls and it is believed their essence is of a lesser/weaker smoke. Tainted are mortal, they age and die like normal humans, their essence returns to hell so that they can further mature and grow as a demon one day.

And finally there are the Nephilim, the offspring between Angels or Fallen with that of Humans. Nephilim are also mortal, they age and die like normal human beings, however unlike demon spawn, they actually possess a mortal soul.

Possession

Humans cannot possess anyone. They are often the targets of such. Naturally there are ways they can protect themselves from being possessed, but not all humans are gifted in that knowledge field.

Damned usually cannot be possessed by outside forces. Those that still have a soul can be overridden by a stronger demon force, but being tainted they cannot let angels in them. Soulless damned cannot be possessed by any, beyond that of the one they may of made the pact with or more importantly who their soul was delivered to. Naturally, angels cannot possess soulless humans for obvious reasons.

Tainted cannot be possessed by outside forces; given they are already lesser masses of evil anchored within a body. They can't leave their husk either.

Nephilim cannot be possessed by outside forces; though they may hold a soul, they are still an abomination to a degree. Perhaps it is their half angelic/fallen sides that prevent another from taking over. They can't possess anyone either.

Weaknesses

Mortality: Their physical strength wanes once they reach old age. They are vulnerable to diseases, and any form of physical harm.
Magic: Like most beings, humans are susceptible to the influences of magic and witchcraft.
Supernatural Beings: Any other creature with supernatural powers can potentially kill humans.

Hierarchy
Unlike other races, humans have no true Hierarchy chain, at least not any more. They are mostly defined with what they 'are.'

Cattle A blessing or curse, the terminology is a reference to how humans once farmed similar animals for their primitive purposes. Most mortals now are generally 'cattle,' at least the majority of the surviving faction of humanity is treated as such. Cattle have only one purpose, to continue to repopulate the world and to be used as vessels/traded as commerce. This is achieved in various ways, some humans have been completely left alone to rebuild and repopulate, probably the more fortunate of the lots. Other humans have to deal with being in controlled 'farms(cities)' ran by demons. Very few 'cattle' live out their natural lifespans, well beyond being treated as a new meatsuit for some demon to wear.
Slaves Like all things, now and then demons will taking an inking towards certain mortals. It is not unheard of for mortals to live out their life as a slave to a demon; probably not the most glamorous of lives depending on the demon.
Damned The damned are those who made a pact with a demon and traded their soul for whatever wish/desires they had. Naturally they still possess their soul, till they die, then it is collected by either the pactmaker or whoever the pactmaker is working for.
Nephilim The abominations that spawned from humans/angels or humans/fallen. Nephilim also possess a little supernatural capabilities; although like Tainted they are very much human and can be killed.
Tainted Tainted are demonic offspring created by possessed humans. Some can often relate to them as 'Anti-Christs,' as they possess some supernatural capabilities. Still, they are very much human and can just as easily be slain.
Souless Soulless are those of mortals who already lost their souls and now are living a rather hollow life or rather the lingering husk of their body is.
Witches Those that practice witchcraft, they generally come into three categories. Naturals, who were born with the gift. Borrowers who made a pact with a demon to achieve their power. Apprentices who are recognized as having talent towards magic and trained. 'Witch,' is not gender bias term, witch relates to both men and women alike.
Warlocks The term Warlock is actually that of a witch that was locked out of whatever coven they once belonged to; generally from the Coven seeing that their tradition or craft being betrayed by that of the accused.

Powers
Damned:

Damned are those that trade their soul for a power or wish or something other. This could be a supernatural power, this could be a common mortal greed/desire, this could be a number of things; though it is one thing.

Nephilim:
Nephilim do not obtain Third Sphere powers. Depending on rank angel/fallen, a Nephilim will have access to half the amount of power of their parent. Example Arch-Angel/Arch-Fallen's Nephilim child would only get to chose one power from the Second Sphere from whichever side line they were. (Naturally basic Angels/Fallen won't gain anything.)

Tainted:
Tainted do not obtain Gray Smoke powers. If Tainted are from the parents of a higher Smoke, then they can choose only half the amount of powers from the strongest parent. Example Oni & Rakshasa offspring, they would gain half the power of the Rakshasa; two choices from Black Smoke power grid.

Witches/Warlocks:
Potion Brewing: The act of brewing and concocting magical potions.
Spell Casting: The act of changing and controlling events through the use of incantations and more. Witches/Warlocks can use some powers via spells. (They are only allowed three.)
Astral Projection: The power to project the astral body from outside of the physical body in order to travel from one location to another.
Pyrokinesis:The power to control and manipulate the element of fire.
Electrokinesis: The power to control and manipulate the element of electricty.
Longevity: The power to live hundreds (possibly thousands) of years while maintaining a beautiful and youthful appearance.
Telekinesis: The act of moving and manipulating objects and persons through mental influence.
Teleportation (limited): The act of disappearing from one location and instantly reappearing in another location through supernatural means.
Conjuration: The act of creating various objects, such as maggots, blood, or hearts, through a hex.
Mind Control: The power to control and manipulate the behavior and thoughts of another living creature.
Healing: The power to heal injuries.
Molecular Combustion: Through spells, allows the user able to cause molecular combustion.
Hexing and Cursing: Witches have the ability to hex and curse other mortals.
Invulnerability: Powerful witches have displayed invulnerability to normal forms of harm, with one scoffing at the idea of a bullet being used against her.

Angels
6fefff838540f0b6e0a3160febcec3df.jpg

The divinity, the first of God’s many creations. Angels function in a general structural order, they are obedient as well to the orders that are given to them. Those that fail to perform have been severely punished by God, either imprisoned within Heaven or cast out into the pits of Hell; as known from Lucifer’s rebellion in the distant past. Their celestial beings have many shapes and forms, some have even been known to tower skyscrapers upon Earth given how large their grace is. Angels always act in the best self interests of mankind, at least those fully loyal to God do. Though with the demons winning the war and sealing Heaven, it has left many angels abandoned and forced to think on their own upon Earth. This alone has caused chaos for their kind, given their orderly nature, it is believed many are just too incompetent to truly act with a ‘free will.’

Possession

Angels operate on a different ruleset in terms of possession. Unlike demons, they cannot freely enter a body of another. They also cannot possess the dead(although a certain rule applies differently to a different cast of angels, the Reapers.) Angels must have permission from the host to be able to possess them, most of this comes from communicating with the desired body and hoping the host may say yes. Many angels full out ride their hosts, just cause they are divinity, doesn't stop the majority of being heavenly 'dicks,' as some put it. It is rare that a host will maintain being consciously aware of their possession. Still, this doesn't come without prices, a host with a strong enough will can cast an angel out of their body by rejecting their presence after saying, yes. Again, permission is required to stay inside, but many angels make it a habit to fully subdue that other half so that they would have full reign of the mortal, chosen body. Unlike demons, Angels typically take better care of their host body, often healing it of injuries, even should they be expel, it is rare and unheard of of a host dying; unless in extreme conditions involving other elements at play. Not all humans can support a celestial being, a certain amount of purity is often required for those of higher circles.

Third Spheres can possess anyone; again, given they have permission of that host.

Second Spheres require individuals to be more pure, God loving individuals often make the better of hosts and most time Christians and other religious individuals are targeted.

First Spheres are rare and unheard of in possessing humans. It would take a fully pure soul to harbor one of their kind.

Host Breakdown

It is rare and unheard of for a host to breakdown as angels typically heal the body to sustain it. Though not all humans make a good husk for angels and it has been known where mortals exploded from the sheer amount of divine power they take into them. That is why angels are often picky with who they target to possess, purer souls make good havens for powerful divinity.

Weaknesses

Corruption: Angels can be corrupted, though they won't become demons, they will become fallen.
Holy Fire: Encased in a circle of flames created from Holy Oil, the angel is trapped. The trapped angel still can use some of their powers. Touching the flame will kill the vessel and the angel.
Enochian sigil: When Enochian sigils are placed on human rib cages, they prevent any type of angel from detecting and finding them. They can also be used to prevent angels from entering a building, capable of weaken the angel and they can also prevent an angel from hearing a conversation of those in a warded room.
Hexbag: Hexbags can used to prevent angels from detecting and finding someone.
Angel Trap: A sigil trap and a means to trap an angel besides holy fire. Like another trapping methods, angels could not escape once inside the trap, but unlike holy fire, angels trapped by this could not use their powers.
Alcohol: A whole liquor store's supply of alcohol is sufficient enough to cause a normal angel, cut off from heaven's power, to become intoxicated.
Grace Removal: An angel's grace is what supplies it with Enochian magic, and therefore if it is removed they will be rendered powerless and mortal.
Angel Depowering Spell: It is capable of depowering nearby angels if certain trail along with the sigils.
Weak Vessels: Having a weak vessel prevents an angel to use his full power.
Angel Banishing Sigil: This sigil is capable of banishing angels and can even kill them. (Killing does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Exorcism Chant: There is an exorcism chant to expel angels from their human vessels and send them back to heaven.
Vessel Expulsion: A vessel possesses the ability to expel the angel possessing them if they so choose depending on their strength of will and willingness to be possessed.
Magic: The right spells cast from a book can kill an angel. (Does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Angelic Weapons: Are capable of killing angels. (Does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Higher Angels/Demons: Are capable of killing lower level angels.

Hierarchy
First Sphere

These positions cannot be applied for.
Seraphim Are considered the closest to God, they were also likely among the many first of the creator's creations. They are the ones that hear all revelations before any other angels and are also tasked in relating that information to their lower brethren. They also are known to radiated a powerful light that forces Thrones and Cherubim alike to look away. The light of a Seraph has been known to incinerate anyone due to its sheer brightness. The Seraphim generally stay near God's throne and keep within his presence. They do not needlessly go to Earth as their place is something of a much higher standing, but they have been known to pass orders from God down the chain of command for other angels to follow.

Cherubim The Cherubim are the protectors of the Garden. In rare instances are they sent to Earth. They are filled with immense amount of Wisdom that they share with the lesser orders of angels. They are also expected as powerful beings; but it has never been fully known for them to engage in conflict as their services are needed in keeping man away from the Fruit of Life.

Thrones The less known of the first sphere, but also some of the most powerful in the service to God. They possess the highest knowledge that any can have in the works of the almighty. They are the few who pass on God's messages to man or lower class angels. They are the prime ones who are involved with justice in Heaven. They merely operate to carry out God's divine justice and have been known as the bringers of wrath in the distant pass when the almighty was more vengeful towards humanity. They come the closest of all angels to spiritual perfection.

Second Sphere
Limited Positions

Dominions Or also lordships, are generally tasked with regulating the duties of the lower angels. They are the ones that present order to the lower ranks of angels. Rarely do they make themselves known to humans. Cannot be applied for.

Virtues They are known to maintain the physical universe and supervise the movements of heavenly bodies to keep the cosmos in order. Cannot be applied for.

Powers Powers are the keepers of history and now and then will serve as warrior angels. These angels are usually represented as soldiers wearing full armor and helmet, and also having defensive and offensive weapons such as shields and spears or chains respectively. They are fiercely loyal to God and it is believed no Power has ever fallen from grace. Still, some speculate that Lucifer was a Chief of Powers before his fall. They work to maintain the power among humankind from where their name is deprived. Limited positions awarded through activity or help GMing the game.

Third Sphere

Principalities They are known to carry out the orders the Dominions give them and grant blessings to the mortal world. They oversee nations, groups of people, and Church institutions. They mainly inspire living things to various knowledge of that of art and science.

Archangels Archangels govern affairs of the messengers of the various realms. Their presence on earth usually signals great change. They can cause occurrences or change the tide of events for/on behalf of humanity. Archangels are usually the ones that command over the basic angels.

Angels They are the messengers that commune with various physical world life forms. Within this order is also the guardian angels of humanity. This order is the largest and generally weakest out of the branches of God's creations. Still, they are the prime ones who carry out all tasks that are passed down to them from the higher ups.

Powers

Powers will be divided by Sphere level. Naturally a higher sphere will have access to all powers of a lower sphere.
Third Sphere
Angelic Possession: See Racial information and Possession.
Astral Projection: Angels can project shadowy forms of their wings.
Dream Walking: Angels can appear in others dreams, this is generally done as a means to communicate or want to talk privately.
Electronic Manipulation: Angels can manipulate electrical appliances.
Immortality: They do not age nor can they be killed by Earthly weapons or diseases.
Invulnerability: There are very few things capable of killing angels, see weaknesses.
Regeneration: Angels can instantly regenerate and heal their vessels; unless they damage is caused by angelic weaponry or higher angels/demons.
Sedation: Angels can render humans unconscious with a touch..
Super Stamina: Angels never tire, they do not need to eat, sleep, breath and all that fun stuff.
Super Strength: Depending on the level of angel, they can greatly enhanced the physical capabilities of their mortal host.
Super Senses: All angels enhance their vessels senses to superhuman level. Angels possess an acute sense of smell. Their sense of smell is heightened to the point where they can identify people by smelling their body, bone or by their blood. Angels can also identify people by sniffing their genes and hormones as well. Because angels operate on a different plane of existence, they can see atoms and ions which are impossible for humans to see. Angels can hear a humans conversations miles away from them, and they are somehow able to locate any human on the planet and find them, but they can't locate people if they are protected by an Enochian charm or symbol or hexbag. They also have an amazing sense of taste and are able to taste every molecule in a piece of food.
Supernatural Perception: Angels can see all supernatural activity. They can also sense any location, being, or object not protected by Enochian Symbols or hexbags. This perception also extends to electromagnetic waves, and can decipher radio modulation signals, as angels are "multidimensional waves" in their true form and can thus perceive such energies.
Flight: When angels are in the light form on Earth, they can fly anywhere.

Second Sphere (Arch-Angels can pick two, Principalities four, Powers six)
Spell Casting: Angels are skilled in Enochian magic which they may use to protect themselves from Fallen and Demons alike. They cannot use Witchcraft.
Healing: The ability to heal others of their wounds or illnesses. However, healing itself is a draining power that feeds off an angel's grace and can tire them depending on the injury.
Photokinesis: A particularly lethal power, some angels can unleash a highly concentrated blast of pure energy from their palms to destroy targets. The power of the blast can be controlled. Naturally higher demons or angels will unaffected by a lower power.
Power Negation: The ability to inhibit a being from using their power. This does not work on higher rank demons/angels.
Smiting: Angels can kill humans, celestial, or even demons with a touch. Naturally higher rank demons or angels cannot be smitten by lesser ones. Smiting is generally done when an angel places their hand upon one's forehead, mouth, or face
Protective Charm: An angel can protect an individual from most forms of physical damage. This degree of protection is linked to an angel's power.
Biokinesis: An unique power to manipulate the life forces and energies; as well as chemical and cellular aspects of a physical body.
Vessel Locking: Powerful angels can hold a demon in smoke form as if it was tangible and force the demon to return to its vessel.
Memory Manipulation: The ability to erase, restore, alter, and fabricate memories in the minds of humans.
Pyrokinesis: Ability to generate and manipulate fire.
Terrakinesis: The ability to control the earth, often by causing earthquakes or tremors, enough to destroy buildings.
Telekinesis: is the ability to move or otherwise exert force on objects or people from a distance and without physical contact. The ability is often used with gestures, other forms of bodily motion. However, it is also used with some form of mental effort, as well as with strong emotion.
Telepathy: The ability to read minds.

First Sphere: (Powers can only choose One)
Time-Travel: The ability to travel through time. Naturally time-travel itself is usually a heavenly appointed gift, but those of higher power can still access it. Of course, when time-travel is used, there is a 'time-lag' that allows any other user to intervene or follow the one performing it into whatever designated period. Time-travel is also very dangerous to the vessel, it takes a lot of healing to sustain a body during and after travel. Many angels are often 'wiped' for the day of performing the deed, depending the length of time of travel. Of course there are loop-holes for extended journies such as bare mininum healing and then discarding the occupied body for another, something Fallen are more than capable of but not all actual Angels.
Apporting: Is the ability to disassemble matter (including spiritual substances like souls) and have it reassemble somewhere else.
Tactile Exorcism: The ability to exorcise an intruding entity out of its meatsuit through physical touch. Will not work against those of similar or higher power level.
Resurrection: The ability to revive someone from the dead. Does not work if the body has been completely reduced to a molecular level.

Demons
19882097c7a49f7e32256095d2a3d95c.jpg

The true and natural denizens of Hell. No one knows where demons originally came from, many may argue that it was Lucifer that spawned them when him and his merry band of angels were cast from Heaven. Others could claim that God had originally created Hell and the warped creatures down below. There are many theories circulating about from where they came, but in the end they are generally a chaotic lot. Still, there is a small faction of order amidst that chaos, demons must still playby certain rules. They have their own laws and ethics, although this far makes them from being considered 'good,' even Hell has been regulated to an extent and on Earth it is just about the same; though they normally have a bit more 'freedom.' Demons all follow a chain of command, which is reflected upon their ranks. Of course, not all demons have to be team players, they are mainly a treacherous lot looking for their self gain, still the premise of death is always highly at stake when a lesser meets a higher of ranks. Fear generally keeps many of their kin in line, but ambition often betrays that and causes them to seek much more out in the world. For demons, the life of power is everything; strength is struggled for and can be obtained through fame, brute force, or even treachery. Lesser demons are treated as slaves, pawns, and riffraff. Nobility is feared, a lord and lady can get away with almost anything to anyone beneath them and those of higher stature even much more so. In the end, demons are mostly malicious monsters looking out for their self gain.

Possession

Naturally demons cannot take on their true forms outside of Hell, with the rift in the world, it has allowed many lesser of their kin to seep out to find suitable hosts. Unlike angels, demons do not need permission from their host to possess them and for most people, the last things they may remember is that of a gray, black, or even red fog slipping into their bodies. Many humans fall victim, but it has been said that with enough willpower a human could cast out a demon from their body. It is rare though, especially if the demon polluting them has enough influence or if the demon has picked a body that is on the verge of death that would leave the mortal dead should it be cast out. Still, demons are not known to heal their hosts fully, the only 'healing' given is that from the possession that is generally taken away once they leave the bodies. Demons can also possess corpses and higher level demons have been rumored to be capable of raiding another possessed host be it with a demon or angel already inside it. On the contrary, some demons have been known to get fond of the bodies they take control of, not all of their kin can just as simply let go to find another meatsuit to play in.

The level of the demon(smoke) often determines who they can possess as more powerful demons require better meatsuits.

Grays are the lowerclass demons, they can generally possess anyone with no trouble or fear of what happens to the host. Grays can possess corpses.

Blacks are middleclass tiers, they require their meatsuits to have some means of corruption to them. Crooks, criminals, politicians; generally the works. Blacks can temporarily possess corpses; the corpses generally begin to deteriorate and no amount of healing can sustain those temp bodies.

Reds are higher tiers, they require a lot of corruption from a host to be able to properly possess it. These are often harden criminals, tyrants, or other deranged mortals whose souls have been long damned from the crimes they committed whether directly or indirectly. Reds cannot possess corpses.

Host Breakdown

In most normal instances, hosts will not deteriorate unless under other circumstances. If a higher level demon(black smokes or reds) possess someone without enough corruption to sustain them, naturally the body will begin to break down. Of course, if a higher level jumps the skin of someone completely beneath them, the host itself will literally explode from the invasion.

Not that many mortals these days have much to fear of that befalling them, humans are far valuable to be simply wasted away these days. Still, the truth of the matter is, that a mortal will need a proper amount of corrpution to sustain a demon and it has been known for demons to corrupt humans further just as a means to bring from Hell their lords or ladies to gain their favor of getting them on Earth. Or they could even corrupt mortals to just amass their armies, again, power is everything and humans are valuable as vessels as are their souls.

Weaknesses

Demons are far from perfect, there are a variety of ways to properly get rid of them or even kill them.

Angels: Angels are capable of overpowering and smiting most demons. Higher ones can kill even the oldest demons.
Angel Blade: Angel blades are capable of killing most demons. (Does not apply to Red Smokes.)
Devil's Trap: A devil's trap was a sigil trap for a demon. Like salt or iron, demons can't escape once inside the trap. They can easily walk into one, but can't get out unless the circle is broken, and they cannot use their powers nor break the circle directly while within it.
Hellhounds: Hellhounds could overpower and kill demons. (Does not apply to Red Smokes.)
High-tier Demons: Stronger demons can overpower, even smite lower demons.
Holy water: Holy Water burns demons that come into contact with it.
Exorcism: Demons could be exorcised and sent back to Hell.
Flesh Sigil: By carving a particular sigil into a demon's possessed flesh, it is possible to lock the demon within its host and disable its powers.
Ghosts: Can pull demons from their hosts.
Hallowed Ground: Low level demons, are unable to enter hallowed ground. (Does not apply to Black/Red Smokes)
Hex bags: Hex bags can be used to hide people from demons. A variant also could harm and kill demons. (Killing does not apply to Red Smokes.)
Holy Fire: Holy fire could destroy a demon's vessel and is capable of killing most of them. (Killing does not apply to Red Smokes.)
Iron: Most demons are vulnerable to iron and the contacting with it, burns their skin. (Does not apply to Black/Red Smokes)
Salt: Most demons are unable to cross a line of salt and could be harmed and tortured by it. (Does not apply to Black/Red Smokes)
Ingestion of Salt: Under some circumstances, the ingestion of large quantities of salt can force a demon to vacate its host. (Does not apply to Black/Red Smokes)

Hierarchy
Imps The lowest of official ranking any can have within Hell and ’Imps’ are a majority. Within Hell, they were officially known as the ’poor,’ the basic cannon fodder that filled up legions, the pathetic urchins that struggle for scraps within the cities. They are not that powerful as power itself also determines rank, this lot is probably no better than common mortals and only dangerous in great numbers. Naturally they are Gray Smokes.

Fiends Fiends are individuals with some type of power or just enough to allow them to stand above the majority of Imps and Damned out there. In social ladder, Fiends can be said to be that of commoners, and within armies of Hell they may even command over squadrons of Imps. They may aid in policing the cities, serving as guards and watchdogs over damned souls. They are also Gray Smokes.

Oni Oni possess more power than that of Fiends and can be considered ’Upper Class’ citizens. In hell they are sometimes head wardens, chiefs of police, even individuals that command up to a battalion. An Oni alone can decimate a group of unprepared Fiends. Oni are often looked upon as 'Arch Demons.' They are Black Smokes.

Rakshasa Rakshasa are often seen as lesser nobility, these individuals outrank Oni. They are normally town representatives, judges, regiment commanders, and general overseers to the various regions of Hell. They are extremely dangerous, able to tear through armies and the majority of their kin are also very magical adept. It is known as a feat for any to be able to bring down a Rakshasa if they are beneath such a being of that stature. They are Black Smokes.

Asura The highest of statures most residents can gain and these are individuals who are either representatives to Kings and Queens of Hell or lesser Princes and Princesses themselves. These are individuals who can hope to hold the most power(besides the actual main prime evils and other figures) and often oversee and supervise the events involving the Rakshasa who may serve under them in court. They rule over small legion(s) and are notoriously the most dangerous of beings often regarded as ’Knights of Hell.' One is almost guarantee death when engaged in a confrontation with an Asura unless they are equivalent rank or higher. Limited positions. For those that may help with the game(GMs) or those that can maintain activity. They are Red Smokes.

Primordials The leaders of various regions within Hell; Kings, Dukes, Queens, Great Presidents, so on and so forth.. They possess immense power and are treated as ’Royalty.’ They command over double to triple digits of legions; depending on their natural social rank.. The Primordials are also the only ones capable of granting one more power, often hosting various games within Hell with different rulings and punishments. Most promotions otherwise follow through a chain of the command and later reach the Primordials for creatures that are incapable of naturally gaining power on their own. This position cannot be applied for. They are Red Smokes.

Prime Evils The true rulers of Hell; there are only eight of them and each one is the rightful, primary, leader of a layer of Hell. They are hardly seen, rarely showing themselves to the public. It is an honor for any to find themselves within their presence, although it is also expected for those fortunate enough to bow down and remain that way out of respect or fear for these individuals' power. The Primordials often report to them and seek their approval for the variety of events that they may choose to host. Prime Evils are known to not interfere much with the events of those beneath their ranks. It is even taboo and unheard of for them to fight and wage war amongst one another or actively take part in war. It is believed that the power of single Prime Evil is enough to destroy a layer of Hell; although some also wonder this given how Satan remains imprison within Ice. There is no true insight to these beings power; only that many treat these individuals as 'Divinity.' This position cannot be applied for. These individuals will be foreseen as 'God/desses of Hell,' and from the sheer amount of power they posses, it is unlikely they will make in game appearances.
Lilim A Grand Princess of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Lust.
Belphegor A Grand Prince of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Gluttony.
Mammon A Grand Prince of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Greed.
Beelzebub A King of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Anger.
Leviathan A Queen of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Heresy.
Sonneillon A Grand Prince of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Violence.
Lilith A Queen of Hell who reigns over the Circle of Fraud.
Satan/Lucifer The first to fall, he reigns over the Circle of Treachery.

Powers

Powers will be divided by smoke color. Naturally a higher smoke will have access to all powers of a lower smoke(minus the reds involving blacks); a lower smoke will not have access to a higher smoke.
Gray Smokes
Demonic Possession: See Races and Information on possession under Demons.
Flight: Only in their smoke forms.
Immortality: Demons have a long span of life, they are also impervious to diseases. Even within meatsuits, they can basically stop time for the body's aging molecules, capable of holding up appearance of the suit to the end of time or when they get bored of it.
Invulnerability: Injuries fatal to mortals such as gun shots, stabs, decapitation, or broken necks cannot fell a demon. At most, it would just cripple the host depending on the extent of the injury, till the demon hops to a new meatsuit. There are very few weaknesses demons share, but those weaknesses are fatal ones. See racial information.
Super Stamina: Demons never tire, they can go without eating, sleeping, or even breathing; those that do, do these things only perform it out of mortal imitation or humor and nothing more.
Superhuman Strength: In most scenarios demons are generally stronger than average humans, unless they are imps and then, well, the body being possess gets little to no boost in physical capabilities. Fiends are capable of lifting twice their body weight to a thousand pounds. Oni can lift four times their body weight to two thousand pounds. Rakshasa have been known to be able to lift cars, trucks, buses, and even small boulders. Asura have been known to move battlecruisers and massive aircrafts.
Supernatural Perception: Demons can see supernatural beings in their spiritual forms; mainly Reapers, Ghosts, and Angels.
Supernatural Senses: Demons carry enhanced smell and taste, capable of even telling what shape a mortal's soul is in just from its scent.

Black Smokes (Oni can only pick two powers / Rakshasa can have up to four / Asura up to six. )
Biokinesis: An unique power to manipulate the life forces and energies; as well as chemical and cellular aspects of a physical body.
Electrokinesis: Eelectronic manipulation is the ability to conjure or manipulate electricity.
Invisibility: The ability to shroud one's presence from mortals.
Pyrokinesis: Ability to generate and manipulate fire.
Telepathy: The ability to read minds.
Soul Reading: Some demons can access the condition of how one's soul is.
Spell Casting: Some demons can practice witchcraft, much like witches, like altering the range/space they occupy. Other demons are adept in Enochian magic which they use to protect themselves from Angels.
Teleportation: The ability to teleport to one place to another without occupying the space in-between.
Terrakinesis: The ability to control the earth, often by causing earthquakes or tremors, enough to destroy buildings.
Voice Mimicry: The ability to mimic another's voice.
Thermokinesis: Ability to make something hot or cold. The more adept or deft with this ability can affect very specific areas of objects.
Regeneration: The ability to heal wounds and injuries beyond that of a normal person. This ability does not however make its holder immortal or invulnerable, just more difficult to kill than normal beings.
Telekinesis: is the ability to move or otherwise exert force on objects or people from a distance and without physical contact. The ability is often used with gestures, other forms of bodily motion. However, it is also used with some form of mental effort, as well as with strong emotion.

Red Smokes (Asura can only choose one)
This section is a WIP
Apporting: Is the ability to disassemble matter (including spiritual substances like souls) and have it reassemble somewhere else.
Weather manipulation: Is the ability to control, manipulate or generate the weather.
Tactile Exorcism: The ability to exorcise an intruding entity out of its meatsuit through physical touch. Will not work against those of similar or higher power level.
Multiple Possession: Some Knights of Hell possess enough essence to allow them to take over more than one meatsuit at a time. Generally, they have to be in close proximity to still maintain control over the vessels.

Fallen
tumblr_p2fdldE21r1vwjoy9o2_1280.jpg

Those who sided with Lucifer or those that later also shared his views or even went against the will of God find themselves cast within Hell. Not all have rose to grand statures, a few blessed have eluded a life of slavery by being s trong enough to prove as suitable guards to the entrance of Dis within Hell. Others can be found serving various demonic rulers and the lesser and useless ones often made into slaves for sheer sport for the demons. Angels whom were closest to Lucifer can also be found in the final pit of hell, chained and covered in ice to repent with their dear leader. Fallen angels generally possess some former power to their earlier angelic lifespan, although it is generally corrupted and many demons put that power to use. The life of Fallen will always be one of servitude, in Hell and even upon Earth is no different for their kind. Those who did not become Fallen prior to the Earthly war can still be tarnished and turned into such by various means. All Fallen are forced to wear a collar to remind them that they will always be slaves of Hell and Earth; of their inferiority to demons.

Possession

Fallen cannot take upon their true forms upon Earth, though their images is often represented by that of a darker light. Fallen are still technically angels, even though they are corrupted, they do need permission from a host to be able to enter their body. Most Fallen tend to torment chosen hosts into saying yes, either by giving them nightmares or hallucinations or finding some other means to coerce or trick them into submission. A host can still reject a Fallen, but they would have to have a strong will power to kick the darker angel out of their being. How the Fallen care for their new meatsuits is generally up to them; some truly don't care for the husks they pollute and will wear it ragged. Others may heal the husk with what lingering divine power they have; again, it usually depends on how corrupt the Fallen may be to care or otherwise their husks. Like demons, not all humans can support a Fallen, Fallen need a certain amount of corruption depending on their Spheres. Fallen cannot possess corpses.

Third Sphere Fallen can possess almost anyone, despite those of a more holy or religious purified nature.

Second Sphere Fallen require a bit more corruption, typically targeting various criminals and other individuals with warped souls.

First Sphere Fallen are generally unheard of in occupying Earth. They are a rare lot that would require the most evil of individuals to be a host.

Host Breakdown

Similar to the way of the more goody angel form of possession, mortals will combust if they cannot completely support that of an intruding Fallen's presence. Some bodies will even begin to deteriorate if the mortal is not corrupted enough to harbor the Fallen within them.

Weaknesses

Fallen tend to share most Angel weaknesses and some demonic ones.
Holy Fire: Encased in a circle of flames created from Holy Oil, a fallen is trapped. The trapped fallen still can use some of their powers. Touching the flame will kill the vessel and the fallen.
Enochian sigil: When Enochian sigils are placed on human rib cages, they prevent any type of fallen from detecting and finding them. They can also be used to prevent fallen from entering a building, capable of weakening the fallen and they can also prevent a fallen from hearing a conversation of those in a warded room.
Hexbag: Hexbags can used to prevent fallen from detecting and finding someone.
Angel Trap: A sigil trap and a means to trap a fallen besides holy fire. Like another trapping methods, fallen could not escape once inside the trap, but unlike holy fire, fallen trapped by this could not use their powers.
Grace Removal: An angel's grace is what supplies it with Enochian magic, and therefore if it is removed they will be rendered powerless and mortal.
Angel Depowering Spell: It is capable of depowering nearby fallen if certain trail along with the sigils.
Weak Vessels: Having a weak vessel prevents a fallen to use his full power.
Angel Banishing Sigil: This sigil is capable of banishing fallen and can even kill them. (Killing does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Vessel Expulsion: A vessel possesses the ability to expel the fallen possessing them if they so choose depending on their strength of will and willingness to be possessed.
Magic: The right spells cast from a book can kill a fallen. (Does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Angelic Weapons: Are capable of killing fallen. (Does not apply to Second Sphere.)
Higher Angels/Demons: Are capable of killing lower level fallen.
Holy water: Holy Water burns fallen that come into contact with it.
Hallowed Ground: Low level fallen, are unable to enter hallowed ground. (Does not apply to Second Spheres)
Salt: Most fallen are unable to cross a line of salt and could be harmed and tortured by it. (Does not apply to Second Spheres)

Hierarchy
First Sphere
Placeholder / Positions cannot be applied for

Second Sphere
Limited Positions
Thralls Serve the Primordials in tasks of monitoring and maintaining some extent of order in Hell. These are dangerous beings who have been known to layer groups of demons and other monsters within the pits. Thralls are respected and feared, especially given their prime roles is that of a variety of execution to denizens that break rules of hell.Position cannot be applied for.
Vices Generally serve under the Primordials as various servants, guards, and playthings. Their power has been enough to warrant such attention to higher demons. Vices are fear and respected by all lesser denizens, since their power even overlaps that of an Asura demon. Position cannot be applied for.
Infirmities Are often seen beside various Asura, their duties vary, but for the most part they are aids to their demonic lords or ladies. Infirmities are often more respected; although their treatment with their masters or mistresses may not always be a blessed one. Limited Positions. For those that maintain activity or help with the game.

Third Sphere
Furies They are the elite warriors within the Third Sphere and their task is that of one in protecting the City of Dis within Hell. Furies also generally accommodate that of Rakshasa in service, typically guards to their masters or mistresses. Their roles on Earth is no different, continue to provide servitude to their lords or ladies.
Arch Fallen Arch Fallen are typically warriors and often serve as the lesser of fodder to higher demonic fiends. Of course, not all Arch Fallen can elude a life of something else, again, it always depends on the interest that demons may take upon them.
Fallen Commonly once basic angels, many Fallen now make up as potential playthings to demons within hell. Depending on their roles and expierence, this may different, but not all known angels are warriors and Hell and Earth has no place for meek Fallen.
Watchers The weakest of Fallen angels, they are generally task with observing the duties of damned souls within Hell. On Earth, their roles aren't much different, Watchers tend to monitor the humans and ensure that the flock is in good enough shape for future harvesting. It is from their former Guardian experience that they hold value to demons.

Powers

Powers will be divided by Sphere level. Naturally a higher sphere will have access to all powers of a lower sphere.
Third Sphere
Angelic Possession: See Racial information and Possession.
Dream Walking: Fallen can appear in others dreams, this is generally done as a means to communicate or want to talk privately.
Electronic Manipulation: Fallen can manipulate electrical appliances.
Immortality: They do not age nor can they be killed by Earthly weapons or diseases.
Invulnerability: There are very few things capable of killing fallen, see weaknesses.
Sedation: Fallen can render humans unconscious with a touch..
Super Stamina: Fallen never tire, they do not need to eat, sleep, breath and all that fun stuff.
Super Strength: Depending on the level of fallen, they can greatly enhanced the physical capabilities of their mortal host.
Super Senses: All fallen enhance their vessels senses to superhuman level. Fallen possess an acute sense of smell. Their sense of smell is heightened to the point where they can identify people by smelling their body, bone or by their blood. Fallen can also identify people by sniffing their genes and hormones as well. Because fallen operate on a different plane of existence, they can see atoms and ions which are impossible for humans to see. Fallen can hear a humans conversations miles away from them, and they are somehow able to locate any human on the planet and find them, but they can't locate people if they are protected by an Enochian charm or symbol or hexbag. They also have an amazing sense of taste and are able to taste every molecule in a piece of food.
Supernatural Perception: Fallen can see all supernatural activity. They can also sense any location, being, or object not protected by Enochian Symbols or hexbags. This perception also extends to electromagnetic waves, and can decipher radio modulation signals, as fallen are "multidimensional waves" in their true form and can thus perceive such energies.
Flight: When fallen are in the light form on Earth, they can fly anywhere.
Regeneration: Fallen can instantly regenerate and heal their vessels; unless they damage is caused by angelic weaponry or higher angels/demons.

Second Sphere (Arch Fallen two powers, Furies four powers, Infirmities six powers)
Electrokinesis: Eelectronic manipulation is the ability to conjure or manipulate electricity.
Spell Casting: Fallen are still adept in Enochian magic which they use to protect themselves from Angels and Demons alike. Some may dabble in Witchcraft, but are not as proficient in it.
Healing: The ability to heal others of their wounds or illnesses. However, healing itself is a draining power that feeds off an angel's grace and can tire them depending on the injury.
Photokinesis: A particularly lethal power, some fallen can unleash a highly concentrated blast of pure energy from their palms to destroy targets. The power of the blast can be controlled. Naturally higher demons or angels will unaffected by a lower power.
Power Negation: The ability to inhibit a being from using their power. This does not work on higher rank demons/angels.
Smiting: Fallen can kill humans, celestial, or even demons with a touch. Naturally higher rank demons or angels cannot be smitten by lesser ones. Smiting is generally done when a fallen places their hand upon one's forehead, mouth, or face
Biokinesis: An unique power to manipulate the life forces and energies; as well as chemical and cellular aspects of a physical body.

First Sphere (Infirmities can only choose one)
Weather manipulation: Is the ability to control, manipulate or generate the weather.
Tactile Exorcism: The ability to exorcise an intruding entity out of its meatsuit through physical touch. Will not work against those of similar or higher power level.

Reapers
fb25f7b7adc939d7399a7731ad16048e.jpg
For aeons, Death has been imprisoned while many of his servants continued to carry out their duties upon the mortal realm. Though with each breaking of the seal of the four horsemen, Death rode and with him he brought the gates of Hell wider than they ever been before. During the wars between good and evil, many Reapers were active more than they ever have been before. The constant taking of life, duties that needed to be fulfilled, and a never before seen workload of tasks. The reapers are of a celestial flock, though unlike demons who may wish to cause chaos and angels that seek order; the Reapers existence is one of neutrality. They do not take sides of the affairs of Good or Evil, their tasks mainly center around maintaining the natural order of Life and nothing more or less. Still, the sealing of Heaven has been a burden on many of their kind, their duties have been thwarted with guiding the better of souls to their rightful homes. Many Reapers do continue their duties, if they cannot properly guide the souls to Heaven, they strive to the next best place, Purgatory. Safer there than allowing them to wander aimlessly and become potential victims of the growing demonic courts. Although Reapers may take upon affairs of neutrality, they will still rise to conflict if one attempts to prohibit them in performing their jobs. Of course, naturally Reapers cannot touch souls who made deals with demons, but any other individual, be it demon or fellow angel that gets in their way will as justly be in danger to their kind. Reapers cannot force a soul to go with them, everyone has a choice. Generally, Reapers are on tight schedules in their work, so the soul they visit must make a choice in a timely manner; otherwise, that soul may be stuck on Earth and potentially at danger of what forces at be upon that realm. Reapers do not answer to demons, angels, the devil, or even God; all Reapers follow Death and Death alone.

Possession

They are still angelic beings; but unlike Angels, Reapers do not need permission to possess another. Unlike both sides, Reapers do not make a common habit of targeting anybody for possession. Those that seek mortal bodies, generally do so to those that are already deceased or those that are knocking at death's door. Naturally, any Reaper that may invade someone who is close to death or dying, must still fulfill their job. It is unnatural for them to allow anyone to keep living; but all souls are still given a choice in the matter of going with them or not. Should a Reaper occupy a dying victim and if the soul doesn't cooperate in following along; than the Reaper can eject the soul from the body and potentially keep the body for themselves. Like other supernatural beings, Reapers can preserve the body they may be occupying.

Host Breakdown

It is generally unheard of of a corpse breaking down with a Reaper within. It is also taboo for Reapers to attempt to possess living vessels before their time, since a Reaper's presence can drain the life-force out of the body and cause the vessel to die.

Weaknesses

Death: Death is a being that has been said to be capable of killing anything, even possibly God and Satan alike. Though Death likes to maintain order in the cycle of life as far as taking souls when they are due, so (s)he does not meddle in the affairs of Good and Evil. Still, (s)he is the boss of the Reapers and will justly punish any Reaper that may be going beyond their station or abusing their power.
Demons: Higher demons can overpower and possess Reapers that may be occupying a corpse. Does not work against Death.
Magic: With the right magic, Reapers can be enslaved. Does not work against Death. He can be imprisoned, but he won't be too happy about that.
Reaper Trap: Reaper traps are Enochian traps that operate in the same manner of Devil/Angel traps. They can render a Reaper vulnerable and powerless if they are caught within it. Does not work against Death.
Angel Blades: Can kill Reapers. Does not work against Death.

Hierarchy
Shades
The weakest and largest in number of the Reapers, the Shades are mostly initiates who monitor human activity. Their jobs often revolve around helping the higher tier Reapers; primary in guiding souls to their proper destination. It is believed there is always at least one Shade in every community area of living souls. Shades do not mettle otherwise in involvement of souls, they are aids and nothing more.

Collectors The Collectors are the main bread and butter of the Reapers, their job is just as their name implies; to collect one's soul when their time is up. These are the ones that are normally called upon by the Shades, and Collectors tend to live rather busy schedules given their duties; although that has slowed down after the the war between good and evil.

Harvesters The Harvesters are the few who are actually in the inner circle of the Boss. It is rare for the lesser of branches of Reapers to come into direct contact with Death, unless they are abusing their station or power. The Harvesters are also the ones who take care of the supernaturals. Death comes to all, even Angels and Demons have their time stamps, especially in former era of war. Limited positions. For those that maintain activity/help GM the game.

Immortality: Reapers are not subjected to hunger, disease, or age.
Flight: In their true form, they can hover or levitate.

Electromagnetic Interference: The appearance of a Reaper can cause lights in a room to flicker or go out.
Wind Interference: A reaper's arrival can cause sudden gusts of wind.

Collectors

Memory Manipulation: Reapers can make mortals forget things and can also restore memories.

Harvesters
