The city of Elyria is the capitol of the kingdom, home of the Fostoria royal line. They live within their palace that overlook the entire city, the largest structure made of white. On the inside, a little girl is running around the large palace gardens. She stops for a moment, then moves behind a tree as if she is hiding from someone. At first, there was silence as she peeks from her hiding spot...but from behind, she is grabbed by the waist with strong hands and lifted into the air.

"Gotcha!" A young man picks up the girl twirling her in hat air, both of them laughing. He does put her down on the ground. "That would be the seventh time I caught you. But, you are getting better at hiding." He grins, trying somewhat to boost her confidence. "We've been playing for ten minutes, why don't we try something else?"

"Ten minutes is not long enough, could we play hide and seek for another?" The girl pleads with him, but he sighs.

"I don't think you want to be caught again, it seems hardly fair."

"Well...ok, let's have a tea party instead." That is something he can agree on. He nods and take her small hands into his as they both walk along the garden. Prince Zaththon sometimes wander into the garden when he has spare time, and to spend time with the little princess. He promised to play with her this day, and so far he has kept it for her. As they were walking, two handmaidens girls found them, giving a slight bow to the royal children.

"Pardon us, Your Highness. Her Majesty, the queen summons the young princess." That means that it is the end of their playtime, and the princess frowns. Zaththon pats her curl dark hair, giving a smile.

"It will have to wait, Mags. I'll play with you later, just be a good girl until then." He whispers to her. She doesn't want to go, but he shook his head. He promise that they would have more time, and that is when she relents and walk with the handmaidens. Zaththon watched her go, and he would have to make some business of his own. Today is a very important day, the anniversary of the Kingdom's foundation. The prince stays out of everyone's way as they worked to make the celebration grand. There will be a ball and everything, and he has to wear a outfit fit for a royal prince.

Two weeks ago, Kethras felt it. That pull in his chest, urging him toward his destined mate. He had come of age. It had woken Kethras from his slumber, his long sleep in the mountains far from the palace whose king he had led to victory in war, and thus founded to kingdom. Two weeks, it had taken him to shake off the fog of hibernation, hunt for food to restore his strength. Now, he will go to the palace. His prophecy has held up, and his mate was born, and now of age.

The flight is long, though by a dragon's standards, time means little. It's just coming dusk as Kethras passes over farmland. He has no need to hide his presence, flying low enough the people below can clearly tell he's a dragon. It may have been three generations since his last appearance here, but surely that's not so long that his tale has been forgotten. Though, he had been hibernating, so he doesn't know for sure.

The party is in full swing as soon as dusk settled on the kingdom, and the palace is bathed in light. The nobility are mingling in the ballroom and some are even outside enjoying the brisk air. The Fostoria royal family is of course in attendance, the king Josiah, his queen Demeter, and the three royal children. Zaththon is there, in between his cousins as hey stand near the throne. Prince Vharden yawns, watching the dance floor with vague interest. "Well this is relatively boring...mother expects me to find a fair maiden here, but they look so overdressed." He whispers to Zaththon, pointing to the females guests with heavy looking makeup.

"We are both on the same boat, you know how it is...we'd be lucky to find a girl that doesn't have air in between her head." Zaththon said quietly.

"Shhh, better not mother hear you badmouthing most of them here, Zach." The both give a silent laugh, not really paying attention to anything around them. A tiny hand pulls at his sleeves, Magda want his attention.

"I'm bored...I want to dance." She pouts, not wanting to stand around.

The blonde prince was about to respond, but there was this strange feeling that is washing over him. It was like this burning sensation in his chest that he couldn't ignore, it is making him slightly breathless.

"Zach, are you ok?" Vharden looks over him concerned, but Zach shook his head.

"I'm fine, I think...you take Mag to dance, i'll just go someplace else." That is when he quickly moves to the side door to give himself privacy. What is happening to him? He felt this strange feeling before, but it is intense this time.

Kethras follows the pull in his chest. Toward the palace, toward the party. A kingdom anniversary ball? It doesn't matter, Kethras will still claim his destined mate. His arrival does not go unnoticed. He doesn't give partygoers much time to scatter as he lands in the plaza before the palace's main entrance doors. Many of them scream. He's at least careful not to knock anyone over.

Standing there, Kethras looks around, trying to pinpoint the location of his mate. Word travels fast, a mix of terrified screams and calls for guards. Seems many people have forgotten him. Hopefully the royal family has not. Time to make an appearance at the party proper.

Black shadows fold around the dragon, shrinking him as he changes form. As Kethras becomes humanoid, the shadows settle on his body to form clothing. He doesn't care for formal wear, preferring comfort, so his clothing is a black tunic fit tight to his torso, black leather hunting pants, and soft leather hunter's boots. His shaggy black hair hangs to his shoulders, and he chooses not to tie it back like so many noblemen do with their long hair. Kethras isn't a human nobleman, and he will maintain his wild nature.

There was complete panic coming from outside as there are witnessing a giant creature flying above, and landed at the gates. Several knights quickly came into the ballroom to quickly approach the royal family. "Your majesty, a giant creature landed near the gates to the palace! A wined devil black as the night!" The queen looked terrified at this revelation, but King Josiah remains calm.

"I see..." He stood up from his throne, then he notice that his nephew is missing. "Someone retrieve Prince Zaththon to the ballroom. Demeter, you stay here and wait for me to return." He commanded the knights to escort the guests to another exit as he walks outside to meet the now human like Kethras. He hopes that he is willing to talk to him. "Greeting, my lord. I am King Josiah, descendant of King Ivellion."

Kethras had taken three steps toward the palace doors before the king came out, followed by squad of guards. He halts, folding his arms over his chest. A new king from the one he aided, but that's to be expected after so long. Kethras' gold eyes seem to cut right through the king.

Kethras listens to Josiah's formal greeting and introduction. He bows to no king himself, so while his words are polite, they lack the acquiescence to the king's throne. "My name is Kethras. Do you know who I am?" Kethras watches the guards, well aware of the way they tighten their grip on their weaponry.

"I know of you, the royal line has told of how a great dragon aided in Ivellion's need. What brings you back to the palace, my lord?" A dragon from long ago just doesn't come back out of the blue, there has to be reason. He doesn't know i, some parts has been lost about the past, but he does remember of a vague pact made.

"The young prince has been found easily not too far from the ballroom, and he can hear the people's frantic shouting. He doesn't know what has happened, but he decided to go back to investigate.

Kethras narrows his golden eyes and clenches his jaw. If Josiah is asking why Kethras is here, then part of his story, now barely more than a legend, has been forgotten. Kethras' eyes go to the guard interrupting his conversation with the king. Currently, talk of the young prince doesn't interest Kethras. There could be more than one prince, and the dragon won't know exactly who his mate is until they're in the same room, and he can lay eyes upon him.

Irritated at the pact having been partially forgotten, Kethras approaches the king with his shoulders squared and hands curled into fists. He had no intention of striking Josiah, but the guards don't know that and they bristle. "I am here to collect on a promise Ivallion made. I brought him victory for his kingdom, and delivered the prophecy that my mate would be found in the descendants of his bloodline. I am here to claim my mate."

"What is going on? I heard people screaming." Zaththon came into the ballroom, seeing that it is now being guarded by the palace guards and his family is near the throne.

"Zach, oh thank the gods you are safe." Vharden greets him, but he is tense. "The guards say that they have seen a winged devil descended near the gate. Father told us to stay here while he went outside."

"What? A winged devil?" He has never heard of such a thing, and it made his heart burn. It is a lot less, but the feeling is still there. "He can't go out there! What if he needs help? The devil could kill him!" He couldn't let his uncle die to this beast, he has to go and see what this is about.

"Wait! Zach!" He tries to stop him, but he rushed pasted the knights and opens the door slightly to take a peek. He sees no demon, but a mysterious man talking to Josiah , and it made him linger as he stares at the man. The king doesn't realize that the prince is watching the both of them, and he couldn't hear him.

"If my ancestor did agree to a promise, I have no reason to doubt it." Said Josiah. He only has one son who is of age and a young daughter who is a little girl.
