Close encounter of the furry kind(Me and Kawaii Kitty)

"They wear less than I do. Why would they tease me?" She asked. "Besides, they only really go after us females when the elders say it is mating season. I'm only considered a full adult as of last Spring which means I get to try and find a mate this year." She smiled brightly.

"Thats interesting." He mumbled, not expecting an answer like that from her. "So your an adult now then? I'm guessing you haven't really found yourself a mate yet then?" He asked. Spring had just past, and it was summer now, which didn't seem like enough time to find an ideal partner in love. "Or have you already found a mate and hadn't gotten to that part yet?"

"No, no, I'm still looking for my right mate." She told him, tilting her head back to look at the canopy above them. "I just find it hard to look at some of the males in my tribe because they're just not what I'm looking for."

"Must be hard for you then. They must be pressuring you about it." Nivek chuckled lightly as they walked. "Man, I'm tired now. How close is the human village from here astra?"

"A few are but I brush them off." She replied, then pausing at his question and taking in their surroundings again. "Oh, another couple of hours actually. If you want to rest and wait until tomorrow, we can make a campfire." She offered.

"A rest would be good. I've been traveling all day." He sat down and pulled his pack off his back and began to dig through it for camping stuff. He pulled out flint and tinder for making a fire, as well as some uncooked food for him to eat. "If you would, could you gather would for a small fire?" He asked, taking his canteen in hand and started to drink from it.

"Sure." Astra nodded, slinking away quickly and vanishing into the forest. She blended in incredibly well and soon he couldn't even hear her around the area.

She dissapeared very quickly. That was expected, since the forest was her home. Adventuring types like him never had the luxury of terrain advantage, since they travel all the time. Nivek sighed and undid his cloak, laying it on the ground as a blanket to sit on to prevent his clothes from getting dirty. That, along with a pillow that appeared to have seen better times, was all he had to sleep with.

His build was strong for a medium size human like himself. Wandering the world all the time and getting into fights had refined and developed his muscles almost to their peak, but compared to the rest of his kind there were still much large humans then he was. He wore leather that covered his entire body, and pieces of chainmail hinted that it had been embroidered into the leath to reiforce it. He carried two swords, a short sword held at his waist and a large, two handed claymore strapped to his back that he miraculously hid within his cloak. A Oak-crafted long bow was also strapped to his back, along with a quiver holding at least 50 arrows or so.

Nivek took off all his weaponry and laid it down on the grond on his cloak, which as I mentioned before became his blanket for the moment. Afterwards he started digging a hole into the ground so he could build the fire in it and not risk setting the forest on fire.

As he was finishing up the pit, Astra was suddenly beside him with a large armful of firewood and a smile on her face. She helped him set up the fire and it wasn't long until a warm fire was going.

Once the fire was started Nivek began to cook the food he had packed for himself. "I noticed you seemed very interested in me earlier. Is it because you never seen a human before?" He asked, keeping a close eye on the meat he was cooking so it wouldn't get burnt.

Astra nodded. "Yeah, pretty much. But I'm a bit more interested in you now, though. I mean, now I can ask you questions and things and you'll answer them."

Nivek laughed at her excitement and took the meat off the fire. "You're an interesting species. Your curiosity rivals your beauty." He calmed down and started eating his cooked meat. "So what else did you want to know about me?"

She blushed at his compliment and smiled before tilting her head and trying to think of what would be the best question to ask him for now. "What's it like where you come from? Do you have a mate?"

"It's busy." He simply replied. "Lots of us roam around our settlements, most of whome are coming and going the next day. Like me." When she asked about having a mate he simply laughed. "Naw, I'm not the type to find a girl to settle down with. I prefer traveling the world as an adventurer."

"That sounds like a lot of fun." She scooched a little closer to him and the fire, sitting down with her legs drawn up to her chest and her arms around them. "I'm a hunter so I guess I'm a bit of an adventurer myself. I wander this forest by myself a lot of the time. It'd nice having that freedom but it can get lonely too..."

"Yeah, it does get lonely at times, but when I do get to the next town I can chat with new people and find out whats going on in the world. Sometimes other Adventurers accompany me cause they're going to the same place." He finished off his meat and whiped his mouth, then looked at her. "You wander around a lot then, don't you?"

"Yeah. This forest is pretty big so I can go days, even weeks without seeing another person." She agreed, running her hands along her legs. "I don't mind it but sometimes the nights are cold and it would be nice to have someone to share a fire and body heat with."

((Lol, clueless adventurer is not taking the hint xD))

"Wow, so even you get lost out here in the forest sometimes?" He asked in slight amazement. He finished his meal and tossed another stick into the fire, prolonging the flame for a while longer. "Well, your sharing a fire with someone now. I guess you got lucky when you saw me passing through, huh?"

"I guess so." Astra gave him a sweet smile and edged a little closer to him again, her long tail lightly brushing against his leg as if accidentally. "It's nice to have company."

"It is, every once in a while." He shivered and looked to see Astra's tail brush into his leg. He thought it was something else, and went to lay down on his bedroll next to the flame. "Are you ok with sleeping here, or do you have a different idea of proper bedding?"

"I'm used to sleeping on the ground. Sleeping on something soft is a rare luxury." She replied with a small smile, tossing a little more wood on the fire before curling up on her side. It didn't look very warm for her to do that by herself, even if she was near the fire.

Nivek watched as Astra curled up to sleep. Seeing her shiver a little, he lifted his cloak up from under him and draped it over her body, then laid down again and slowly drifted of to sleep.

She looked up in surprise as she felt his warm cloak drape over her, then smiled gently while watching him settle down. She watched until she heard his breathing slow and deepen, only to shift silently closer to curl up against his back. Purring softly, Astra closed her eyes and fell asleep too.

Nivek awoke first the next morning, still a bit tired, but rather warm regardless of the lack of his cloak. When he sat up, he found Astra curled up against him, her body heat keeping him warm. He smiled slightly and started to pack up his stuff, then shook Astra gently to wake her. "Morning Astra."
