Can Demons and Angels Get Along? (BlisteredBlood & Mouse69)

Camael stopped in her tracks as she heard Dead asking how she could possibly be lost, causing her to yell back at him. "It's not like I ask to be chased away from the area where I knew where I was!" She shouted, putting a little added emphasis on the word 'knew', before turning back to her decided path. In stead of wandering off in a huff, however, she moved behind a tree and leaned against it. The lost angel pressed her palm to her forehead as her body slumped down the bark of the tree until backside reached the ground. She thought to herself on how she would possibly find her way home, trying to keep her mind off the hopelessness of the situation at hand. She no way of contacting anyone from her own realm, and for all she knew no one even knew she was missing. Her hands grasped her head for a moment as she groaned to herself, "This is absolutely ridiculous!."

Once again, Dead just couldn't help but laugh at the angel's apparent blockheadedness as he stood there, laughing like a hyena at her. So hard, as a matter of fact, that tears were threatening to spill out from his blackened eyes as he then turned his attention over to the angel as she sat there near a tree, grinning at her not in wickedness now, but in pure amusement.

"So let me get this straight angel, you have no way of getting a hold of anyone from your realm? Besides, I'm certain they would've noticed that they one of their own is missing." Dead commented with the same grin on his face as he then put his hands to his hips and arched a brow at her as a smirk played upon his face.

Camael grumbled lowly at him, looking up at him through the corner of her eye as her cheek twitched rapidly in irritation. Her hand pushed her dark brown her away from her face as she sat there, her chin resting against her knees now. "Do I look like I carry a messenger pigeon with me? And my name isn't 'angel', it's 'Camael'." She stated, still rather annoyed as Dead laughed at her plight so shamelessly. She then expanded her wings over herself, having the same affect as if she had draped a blanket over her head. "If you're not going to help me then leave just me alone." She pouted to him.

"Camael." Dead answered as if he was being corrected. "I'll have to remember that should I ever feel like it." He said again with a little chuckle and a smile on his face before he then began to walk over to her with his hands down by his sides and his wings once again folded around his large form like a cloak, stopping by her side a short while later.

"I suppose I can make an exception, since you're feeling a little lost. It'll take a little bit of time, but trust me when I say that there are ways for you to return to your own dimension so that we'll never have to see each other's face again." Dead soon spoke as he lifted one hand up and curled his fingernails back to look at them inquisitively.

Camael smirked a bit at Dead's last statement, one of her wings moving back to uncover her face, and she would then look up at him with a quirked brow. "Hmph, you say that as though you'd miss me." She said jokingly before folding her wings back and raising to her feet. She casually brushed the dust off the back of her tunic. She then looked up at her unexpected guide, her eyes sort of asking him to lead the way. She started to flex her previously clipped wing, feeling little to know pain by that time, and she would then remove the temporary bandage. "Well Mr. Demon, lead the way."

"Now who said I would miss you?" Dead answered with a quirked brow of his own as he looked over to her questionably. "Personally, I'd say it be getting one headache off of my mind." He added as a small smirk came upon his face now, chuckling a bit as well before he folded his arms across his chest before looking to her clipped wing. "Unfortunately, we won't be moving around for very much with that bothering you as it is at the very moment. As far as I know, that needs to heal up a little more than what it looks like now, unless if you forgot about your healing abilities." He noted with a teasing smirk on his face as he then began to lead her onward.

Camael frowned a bit as Dead referred to her as nothing more than a headache, "As though I asked you to chase me down" She thought to herself still with an annoyed look on her face. She turned her attention away from him and on to her still injured wing, not really listening to him anymore while she did.

She pressed her thumb and index fingers around both sides of the injury, closing her eyes as she began to concentrate what small amount of power she did have on it. A small light started to resonate from her finger tips as she dragged them slowly down her wing, the light fading along with the injury by the time she reached the end of her wing. She gave a soft sigh of relief as she extended her wing, smiling light as she examined her work, and feeling comforted by the lack of pain.

She had her back turned to the demon as she healed her wound, turning back after she finished, not realizing had been asking her about healing abilities the entire time. "Hm? Oh I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" She asked him, tilting her head to him lightly.

By now, Dead had already gone about a few steps before he glanced back over to the angel and arched a brow at her, having caught notice of her now fully healed wing. The elder demon simply shook his head and rolled his eyes with a sort of "Yeah, whatever" look on his face before turning back around and walking onward still. Smartass angel... Dead thought as a bit of a frown was now on his face. Not in bitterness, mind you. Quite the opposite. It was more or less as a response to her question.

"In any case Camael, we might as well get going. No doubt they'll be sending Seraphs to look for you Might as well get you back before then." Dead eventually spoke as he continued to lead her onward as his dark, leathery wings were now held upright and folded neatly against his back.

Camael hurried to catch up with the elder demon, covering her mouth as she giggled lightly to herself, seeing the frown form on his face. The young angel scoffed a bit as Dead suggested that someone would be sent to search for her. "As though I'd be missed..." She muttered lightly, just barely audible enough to be heard if anyone cared to listen. She didn't really have any friends among the other angels, female or otherwise, and both of her parents had just become casualties of the war for which she held great contempt.

Again, another arched brow was aimed over to Camael when he heard her giggle and then mutter something to herself as he continued to lead her on with a perplexed look on his face. Surely, this angel wasn't like some of the ones he had seen before in his lifetime. But no matter. As soon as he got rid of this one, he could then go back to his job. Something was rather curious about this one, he knew that much was certain. But perhaps maybe after some time, he could figure out just what was her deal.

Camael continued to follow beside Dead, who she know saw as just a cranky old demon, and occasionally glanced up at him from the corner of her eye. Initially she saw him as greatly intimidating, mostly because of his size and massive body structure, but now something was different. Taking a lust for blood from the equation, she didn't feel she had to much reason to fear him. Granted, if he choose to he could snap her neck like a twig at any given moment, but in some way or another she felt as though he wouldn't. Although, she wasn't nearly foolish enough to test her limits with him.

Soon the unlikely duo would reach a section of the trail that would fork off into three different directions. Normally she would have waited for her so called guide to tell her which path to take, but after standing still a moment, whilst looking as though her mind had left her, she ventured off on the path to the right.

During the time he walked with the angel, Dead just seemed to ignore her presence as he moved along, his mind firmly set on getting Camael home so that he would have to cart her around everywhere. As far as he knew this young pup of an angel probably would last a day without him having to guide her here, there and everywhere in between. At one point during their walk, the elder demon glanced over his shoulder to Camael as she walked close to him, seeing her pensive expression on her face. Deciding against on asking what was on her mind at the given moment, Dead simply looked away from her, the frown on his face still ever present.

After a little while, Dead began to see the three-way fork in the road, prompting the elder demon to come to halt at the middle path with an arched brow then glanced around at the three possible directions. To be perfectly honest, any of these paths here could lead them anywhere. But which one led to her destination the shortest? But before he could ask her the question, Dead happened to notice that Camael had now walked onto the path on the right and reacting purely out of aggravation, Dead simply called to her. "Hey!" The demon shouted out. "Where do you think you're going?!"

In truth, Camael had more power and abilities than either of them could imagine. Unbeknownst to her, Camael actually had the power to see into the near future and, to an extent, the distant future also. The slight trance she had momentarily slipped into before she following the far right path had shown her that the path in the middle was a dead end as well as the fact that there were other demons coming from the path on the left. Hearing Dead call out to her, she stopped for a second to call back to him. "I'm trying to go home remember?!" She shouted jokingly. "Or did you change your mind and decide you want me to stay with you?" She teased as she took a moment to wait for him, giggling softly as she stood there.

At that point, the elder demon literally slapped a hand over his face and smeared it downward before shaking his head slowly, mostly due to the fact that this angel was now beginning to aggravate him a greater deal now as indicated by his brows furrowing closely together before he would then move onto the right path with her. "You could at the very least waited for me to catch up with you." Dead snarled at her moderately as he eventually kept up with her a short while later.

Camael sighed softly as she resumed walking once Dead had caught up to her. "Oh, don't be such a grumpy puss, it's not like I left you over two miles back or something." She started, a surprisingly upbeat smile on her face as she spokes. "Besides, would you have actually listened to me had a I said which way to go?" She asked, adding extra emphasis on the word listened, and speaking to him as though suddenly they were an old married couple or something similar.

"And you could have at the very least given me your name. Since I was nice even enough to give you mine." She said, a light smirk on her face as she mimicked his tone. She wasn't purposely being arrogant, but she was slightly annoyed by the fact that he was acting as though she had intentionally left him behind when she was only acting upon what she thought was her instinct. "Or do you prefer me referring to you as 'Mr. Demon'?" She asked with another light smirk.

"If I were to tell you my name, the only way you would be able to pronounce it correctly would be if I pulled out your tongue." Dead spoke in a rather annoyed manner as he glanced over to the angel with an arched eyebrow as he continued to walk with her. "But, if you want the English version of it instead, my name is Dead." He spoke as his tone began to relax a bit. It wasn't much, but it was enough to clearly note some degree of annoyance.

Camael blinked rapidly at Dead, feeling as though he was grossly exaggerating the difficulty in pronouncing his name. Though, she didn't say anything after he introduced himself. Silence seemed to her as the only thing that didn't make him give that same annoyed looked his face carried since they left together. So, she had decided that if quiet was what he wanted, quiet was what she would be for a while. Just to see if he would lighten up a little if at all.

Oddly enough, the elder demon's demeanor hardly lightened up, if at all. It just seemed as though that he had finally gotten the angel walking beside him to finally silence herself if only for now, despite a better part of him - if there ever was, in the first place - would've easily ripped her to shreds right about now. At one point though, Dead did begin to see what Camael was getting at when she took the right path when they approached the three-way fork in the road. He had picked up on the presence of multiple demons not far from their location. Bit of an odd moment in his eyes, Dead thought as he continued to walk. More importantly, how could she tell?

But then again, he decided to not read into it any further than that. Besides, it would only lead into questions.

Camael noticed the look on Dead's face had change, not so much for the better, but it had changed none the less. She wondered what the look was about, but she also noticed that it had only come about now that she had decided to be quiet. So, she decided to not say anything for a while longer, trying to see if the elder demon would ask her something to her on his own.

By now, the curiosity that had been in Dead's mind had faded to almost nothing as he continued to walk as his arms went behind his back then latched one hand onto the other as he looked straight ahead, almost not even acknowledging Camael's presence for a little while before he began to notice that her eyes were once again on him. Arching a brow for a moment, he glanced over his shoulder and looked down to Camael.

"Yes?" He asked. "Something on your mind?"

Camael looked up at Dead once again after him asking him ask if there was something she wanted to say to him. "Hmm? Oh, nothing really." She said, looking straight ahead by then. She began to realize that the long she remind silent the easier it would have been for him to forget she was there altogether. For as long as they had been walking, it didn't seem to her that they progressed very far if at all. "Well actually..." She started, looking back up at him slightly. "Are we getting any closer to the border of my realm?"

"How should I know?" Dead answered as he arched an eyebrow at her then turned his head to look down at Camael with a sideways glance while still walking with her. "For all I know, we could be heading the wrong way. Not that I care, really." He added with a shrug of his broad shoulders as he then aimed his eyes back in front of him once more.

Camael stopped walking after hearing Dead said he basically had no idea where the two of them were. She stopped so suddenly it was almost as though the sound of a tires screeching along asphalt could be heard. Once again her cheek would twitch once again in great irritation. "Are you kidding me?!" She exclaimed, yelling so loudly that a few avian-like creatures would scatter from the trees above them, and then walked away from him in a huff. "Forget this, I'm not walking anymore." She said, resting by a tree as she sulked lightly and feeling as though banging her head against a tree idly would have been more productive at that point. She had actually believed he was going to be able to show her the way back to her own realm, if only to be rid of her like he seemed to want.

Right when he heard her scream out so loudly to him that it caused birds to fly around everywhere, Dead also stopped in his tracks suddenly before turning to Camael and snarled at her. "Very nice of you to tell everyone where you are." Dead spoke in a bitter voice. "But if you so choose to sit there and bitch like a little child, then how about I just leave you here and go back to my post?" He added in a seething tone as he looked away from her, perfectly fine with just walking away from her and leaving her here.

Camael glared back up at Dead defiantly, her eyes on him coldly now. She didn't care much for going any further, and she would almost have preferred to be unconscious like she was when he was attempting to carry her off. "As if you care at, you would have just as soon to left me where I was in the first place." She stated firmly. "I could be off somewhere else alone and lost, or possibly even being eaten right now. Would you even care?" She asked, cutting him off with a quick "No" before he had time to respond. The angel's cheek twitched fiercely with irritation, and at that point she had no fear or intimidation of him. The elder demon could have reached out and attempted to strangle her at that point, but she wasn't afraid at all that he would. Her eyes almost dared him to do it.
