"Um...so, y'know how ol' fashion my pa makes me..." He started one night, "An'...well, I wanna take the nex' step..." He became shy, "But...y'know...I can' til I give ya my class ring so..." He gulped and fidgeted, "Man, this is hard..."
"I, uh..." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a third party class ring with Clyde's birthstone, "I was wonderin if ya wan'ed t' go steady...? Take that nex' step with me...?"
"I know a spot we can hide at and have some fun in the truck bed." He said, "I have some blankets and gloves in the tool box...aside from the gloves, folks know I go camp out sometimes..."
"We're gonna go out an' huff it! Jack wants to see, like, actual stars."
"Ain't no light pollutin' out here. Y' got yer gear?" Clyde's dad asked as the two came down the stairs.
"Yeah, pa...! See ya in the mornin'!"
"Bai, boys~!" His mom called as they jogged out.
Thry climbed into Clyde's truck and he drove off to the farthest end of the ranch. He shut off the car and climbed out to lay the blankets out on the truck bed, keeping one for when they were done and about to pass out.
