Do you use RP as a therapeutic outlet?

Feels like an outlet, maybe. Looking for fun in a safe, thought-provoking way. You can do anything when RPing, so ... more than you can do in real life, and that means you can instantly step out of whatever shell you might be in, just a little bit?
If learning more about yourself through roleplay is an "outlet" then totally.
For me, any therapy is a by-product I think.

Anything thats deemed entertainment is a form of escapism, so to those who try to put a negative connotation on using rp to explore emotions and imagination, its a moot point.

Yes, I view it as being someone else for awhile and the creative side of roleplaying has always been an outlet for me. I love creating characters and seeing their interactions with others. It’s something I look froward to doing everyday.

I mean sure. Writing and reading are both ways to escape reality for a while, even if it's just to get out of the boring everyday life. It can't replace therapy though and should never be instead of professional help.
