"I know..." He hugged her and held her close, "I know it doesn't, but...we have so many already...we've singlehandedly saved our species...these things happen...we just have to be careful next time.."
 
She nodded and finished getting ready. The two eggs inside her would be fine, at least until they were ready to try again. She got redressed and kissed his cheek. "I'll see you at home, okay..?"
 
He sat at his desk after he got dressed again before looking to the wrapped egg. He clenched his jaw tight before forcing himself to look away. He wouldn't allow himself to cry.
 
She simply laid back down when she got home, and turned out the lights. She didn't want to do anything.
 
She didn't know how long she had been laying there when she heard foot steps and someone lay in the bed and hold her, "It's done..." Cassius whispered.
 
She let out a shaky sigh and just laid there, perfectly still. What could she say? Sorry wouldn't cut it.
 
"Cassius.. Please.. I don't feel like it's alright... I was careless.. And I hurt you... I don't want to do that again..." She said softly.
 
He cupped her cheek gently, "It won't happen again, I swear to you...we will be much more careful..."
 
She sighed. "Okay.. I trust you.." She said. She didn't seek to feel better, at least not by much.
 
He stood and pulled her from bed, taking her and sitting her at the dining table before getting her favorite fruits and berries and drizzling them in honey before setting them in front of her with a glass of peach nectar before making himself a bowl.
