The day before had seemed so surreal. Amethyst did not know why, but Layfen was being so very kind to her. She did not understand. She was used to the men of the house being cruel to her and using her for their own purposes, nothing else. Although, luckily, with Relic being here, that issue had been calmed. Only once or twice in the past months had she been taken advantage of by her Master. She was glad for that. She did not like what he did to her, but she knew that there was no chance that anything she could ever do would get him to stop. She was his, and he had told her that from the very first time that they met. He told her that she would listen to him and only him, and that was how it always has been. She was used to everything by now. She became accustomed to how Auren treated her and did not think twice about anything that happened to her. At least, until Layfen came. When he had, everything turned upside down. He treated her kindly and spent most of the day just ... with her. Eventually, she had to do her chores and he actually stayed with her, helped her sometimes, and she was shocked but somehow ... she was happy. There was some sensation that she could not pinpoint, and she did not hate the feeling either, but definitely it was different.
The night before, before they went to bed, Layfen told her that he wanted her to deliver breakfast in bed to him, and she really could not deny him for numerous reasons. So, she was already up and about well before dawn hit. She made some muffins and pancakes and made sure Relic got up. He was a heavy sleeper sometimes, and it seems that he tired out Master Auren last night, so he was tired as well. She asked him nicely if he would give their master his breakfast, and he was all too happy to. That and he teased her something about her and Master Layfen being close as well. She could only blush and continued to poke at the pancakes she was creating. She was so, so nervous and she did not know why. This was just breakfast, right? Was she worried that he would turn out like Master Auren? Yes, that must be it. That was why there were butterflies in her stomach. She did not want Master Auren to get mad, and she did not want Master Layfen to do what her other master did to her. Yet, even as she thought o that, the butterflies increased but they were a different kind of nervous and she was more tingly than anything else. Oh, her world was turned upside down.
With the pancakes, muffin, orange juice, and some milk, as well as syrup, butter, and some fruit, all upon a tray, she headed her way up the stairs to where the manâ??s room was. She was in front of it for a while, soon taking in a huge breath and her eyes slipped closed. She felt a blush coming to her cheeks and she did not know why. Her knuckles rapped against the door for a moment before she slowly opened the door and slid into the room and peaked her head inside. â??Uhm . . . Master Layfen?â? she questioned, her voice soft as ever and a little cautious. She looked around, trying to see where the man was, the tray against her torso as she did so.
