Gotta Catch 'Em All (Pokemon verse)
I've been interested in this one lately.. (Would love to be pokemon but can manage either) Lucario or Zorark (can be a Zorua instead of Zorark as well, don't mind playing a male or female, even an Arcanine, Luxray, Houndoom or Houndour, Charmander, Poipole, Snivy or Serperior, Mew, Latias, but not a fan of Gardevoir. (Reversible for male or female)

In this, it can go several ways, pokemon x pokemon, or pokemon x trainer, normal looking pokemon or a bit more anthro
1.) The experiment... Either old partner or random pokemon not known to the trainer/scientist is being tested on to try and find a way to understand Pokemon, only this goes terribly wrong, merging human DNA with the pokemon and causing a different kind of evolution...

3.) In this one, the world is naturally filled with anthro pokemon, and it's completely normal with the pokemon story line for trainers to catch these creatures still to battle with them. This can either go with a trainer on a search for a certain pokemon that illudes them so they sets up a trap and catch it before managing to catch it in a poke ball to be their new partner, or the pokemon is already their partner, or a strange lone pokeball is found by a newbie trainer, they weren't expecting that to become their first pokemon, but they plan to enjoy every minute
4.) There has been a pokemon causing trouble and terrorizing humans, and as a decent trainer you go to investigate
5.) Team Skull Rocket is an organization aiming to steal the power and will from pokemon, turning them into feral beasts who have yet to be found a cure for... We can play off of this
6.) Traveling the world is all fun and games until you're suddenly attacked by a group of trainers.. your original team is lost to you, everything disappears, and you are left with no memory... But as you wake up you see a certain pokemon taking care of you..
7.) Come up with your own!
Side ideas:
Maybe if a pokemon came from a sort of testing facility where her genetics makeup was a bit scrambled, and finds a trainer, deciding to have some fun they battle the trainer, not letting them use their pokemon they more or less fight the trainer finding amusement in playing the cat to mess with the mouse, but the trainer eventually grows sick of it and sets a trap, using a specialized ball and kind of forcing a capture making them a part of the team, only they are wanted by more than just that trainer, and they prefer less fair means in their battles. And the world can be more... Less anime version of pokemon and more realistic with battles being more brutal and such, or like the anime
or If maybe a Mew deal (could work for any pokemon though)
Maybe the real one, or a sort of genetically edited/experimented and for vague plots before discussing detail in a minute
maybe a organization wants to capture the mew and make mew two deal, leaving mew on the run and in need of help
Maybe yc a scientist and has pity on the little pokemon they're experimenting on and decide to take it away from there
Mew just came to visit and has been shown bad humans thinks they are all bad and refuses help even injured, being stubborn and still hiding from the and Aether or similar foundation wanting to harness their powers
Maybe an organization injects new with a drug that turns her feral or along the lines of a foundation out to steal a pokemon's power and turn them into mindless slaves by confusing them and taking away their conscious thought and simply making them only feel rage and bloodlust kind of thing
Or Maybe and Unruly Partner was traded to a character and on their adventure they have to learn to work together
