Jack felt her body relax more against his as he heard the yawn. Setting off his own yawns he glanced at the clock and moved only slightly before pulling out two large pillows and a blanket offering both to her.

"Jessie i am going to head to bed, got an early morning appointment"
 
Jessie jumped slightly in surprise when he began to move and she nodded as he spoke, sitting up and taking the pillows and blanket from him. "Thanks." she whispered. "Alright. Sweet dreams Jack." She tucked the pillows beneath her and curled up against them while drawing the blanket up over her small body.
 
Jack noticed the surprise within her, hearing her words he smiled and made his way upstairs. Stripping down no sooner had his head rested on his pillow a deep sleep overtook his body.
 
Jessie remained awake for another hour or so watching tv before she finally shut off the television set and rolled over on the couch, too tired to get up and head to bed. With a soft yawn, she curled up a little more and fell fast asleep.
 
Jack woke early the next morning, taking a quick shower and getting dressed for his appointment which could lead to some better work. Sighing softly as he descended the stairs and making himself some coffee he noticed her asleep on the couch. Moving about quietly he soon left and made the appointment a few minutes early. Dressed in more a suit today it was not attire he could ever get used to wearing but for today it would have to do. Sitting through the short test it was down to him and two others for the new position that had opened up with the small firm.

About an hour later he strode out of the office, his new role emblazoned on a door down the corridor as he entered it and sat down. His work day would now last for several hours and making a quick phone call home to let his sister know that he might be home late.
 
The next morning, Jessie didn't wake up until about two hours after her brother left. When she woke up, the girl looked around with wide eyes before remembering where she was and she slowly stood up, folding the blanket she had used and she put it back where it belonged along with the two pillows before heading upstairs and changing into her bikini. For a while, she swam before she heard the phone ringing. Getting out of the pool quickly, she hurried to answer it. After hearing her brother say he might be home late, she said a soft 'okay' before they hang up.

With a sigh, the girl went back up stairs to shower and change.
 
Jack had heard her response and being at work away from her gave him some time to think over things that had happened in the past between them and sort it out. Over the next two hours his work day went quite well and smoothly, his home life getting sorted at the same time. With Saturday night now totally free he put together a plan of taking her body for his own, it had been a long time but he thought she might enjoy it.
 
Later in the day after spending some time just relaxing in the living room, Jessie went to the kitchen and began looking through everything that her brother had in the cupboards before she started dinner. Because she had been the one to cook for the past three years in the house, Jessie was rather good and whipping something together and that's what she did. She cut up some steak into strips before putting them into a ziplock baggy with some spices and olive oil so that it could sit and soak up some of the flavors while she started peeling potatos and boiling them for mashed potatos. She figured her brother would like a nice meal after work.
 
Jack took a short break for lunch and grabbed a meal at the nearby bistro returning to his office and work. Answering phone calls, setting up some meetings for next week he sighed audibly and could already feel how much tension had hit his upper back and neck. Tonight he would need to swim some laps and take a nice long shower to relieve it all.
 
Jessie worked silently and quickly on dinner and between tasks, she was going through the paperwork for her to start school in the new district since her parents had lived in a different school district.
 
Jack spent the last of his work day attending to some last minute phone calls that just could not wait until tomorrow. With one final sigh he stood up and strode from his office, downstairs to the carpark. Taking a few minutes as he sat in his car he smiled as he left for home.
 
When she finished cooking, she had two plates set up with mashed potatos, steak, and vegetables on them with gravey. She sighed as she sat the plates aside and looked at the time. It was rather late but she was sure it wasn't too late.
 
Jack glanced at his watch as he approached home, sighing audibly and cursing some of the other drivers he knew she might be worried. Tonight was just a first in what could be many late nights associated with the new position which he had worked hard to achieve. Finally arriving home he walked casually up to the front door, opened it and closed it behind himself breathing in the aromas from the kitchen instantly.

"Jessie guess who is home"
 
Jessie, who had just gotten herself a drink of water, heard the front door open and close soon folowed by her brother calling out. "I'm in the kitchen Jack." she called to him before taking a sip of her water. Setting her glass down, she picked up the two slightly hot plates of food and carried them to the table that she had set before getting a beer for her brother and grabbing her glass of water, setting both onto the table.
 
Jack heard her words and watched the plates being set down along with a beer for him, taking a seat at the table his eyes met hers. Softly smiling on the outside, on the inside he sighed as he spoke.

"It looks delicious and thank you for preparing it"
 
Jessie blushed a little with a small smile and sat down as well, brushing her bangs from her face. "Well, I thought after a long day of work, you would like something hot to eat." she said gently before picking up her glass of water and taking a sip of it.
 
Jack glanced across the table and noticed the reddening of her cheeks, highlighting other areas of her face perfectly. Sighing again this time audibly he took a few sips of his beer and took some bites of the steak. Delicious as he had thought, mouth watered more as he ate more. Barely noticing that he had finished over half of it in no time at all.

"Very delicious and thank you again, yes just what i needed after today"
 
Jessie heard her brothers sigh and she frowned slightly before biting her lip as she began eating. "You're welcome." she said softly. For a couple of minutes they ate in relative silence before she looked up at him and spoke. "Is... is everything alright Jack?" she asked softly. "I don't mean to read into everything but it's just... you seem a bit off I suppose."
 
Jack ate his food in silence until he heard her questioning words. His eyes moved across the table to meet hers, smiling softly as he wiped the corner of his mouth.

"Yes i'm fine, just a rather long day is all"
 
Jessie relaxed after hearing his words and she smiled gently with a nod. "Okay." she said softly. "I just didn't want you to be upset or anything." She brushed her long hair out of her face, tucking her bangs back behind her ears. "Jack... will you go with me next weekend to the school to finish filling out my paperwork for school?"
 
Jack smiled and listened to her questioning words, eyes glancing across the table into her eyes and nodding before winking. Taking a few more bites of his food and washing it down with a mouthful of beer he spoke softly.

"Yes i will do that Jessie, sorry i have not done it sooner"
 
Jessie slowly shook her head with a small understanding smile before feeling her cheeks heat up again just slightly when he winked at her. "It's okay. You've been busy and I've been working on getting most of the paper work done anyways." she said softly. "Besides, I had to get an appointment with the people at the school and it was really hard to do so."
 
Jack listened to her words but knew he should have done more for her, shrugging slightly as he finished his food. Standing from the table and finishing his beer he moved around the table and gave her shoulders a light squeeze before kissing her cheek. His words barely whispered as he left for the stairs.

"I am sorry i have not done more, am supposed to be here to protect and help you but failing at that i see"
 
Jessie smiled a little more when he squeezed her shoulders and kissed her cheek. But as he walked away and she heard his words, the girls smile faded and she quickly stood up and hurried after him. Just before he reached the stairs, she caught up to him and wrapped her arms around him in a gentle hug. "You haven't failed Jack." she whispered. "I just moved in yesterday and we both have to adjust a little. You're doing your best Jack and you have your own life. I'm not going to ask you to drop everything for me."
 
Jack's steps were halted by the embrace as he heard all of her words. His eyes closed as he softly kissed her forehead and cheeks once more. Holding her close for several minutes his words were whispered.

"Jessie i should have organised that for you, enjoy the food whilst it is still hot please"
