Her New Companion(Ronyo+Anjeru)

He smiled as he finished eating the fish, the pit in his stomach long gone, now replaced by a warm full feeling. He lowered a hand to his stomach, stroking it softly. "That was brilliant... Again, thank you" he smiled and finished his milk "I'm ok thanks.." He paused, noticing the expression on her face and her tone of voice. "Hey... Is everything ok?.." He looked at her, thinking "Umm.. Is it ok... If I ask why you live alone?... Where's your family?.." He tilted his head slightly, his tail swished to the side in a concerned manner.

She had been afraid he would ask that. Sighing, she finished what was left of her milk. She stood and took his dishes and her glass to the sink, where she proceeded to rinse them before putting them into the dish washer. "When I was 13," she started, placing her hands on the counter, her back to him, "we all went on vacation to an island resort. We had never been before, so naturally, we were all excited. Two days into our trip, my 15 year old sister was run down by a drunk driver. For years, we went through painful court lidigations and court proceedings to get the guy put away. Due to a lack of susbtantial evidence, they had to dismiss the case. My mother...she didn't take it well. Killed herself by an overdose of sleeping pills. This devasted my father, who then became a drunk. An abusive drunk." She went quiet, remembering the days she'd spent a t the mercy of her drunk father. "I moved away as soon as I could unable to deal with him anymore. And now...I live alone because I choose to, I guess."

Kotaro gave a look of concern as she got up, taking his plate and glass without saying anything. He turned to watch her, afraid he'd pushed too far. He got up and stood behind her, watching. "Yuki?" he said as she washed the dishes, his ears flattening as she continued to not speak. He was about to ask again when she spoke, her back to him, he stood and listened, a few tears beginning to fall as she spoke. He felt sad, sad for her. As she finished her story he moved up to her, wiping the tears from his eyes, he slowly hugged her from behind "I'm so sorry..." He tightened slightly, resting his head on her back as he hugged her.

She was surprised to feel him hug her from behind, but did not pull away from his embrace. His head was resting against her and she could feel the tears he cried for her. Slim hands reached up to hold his arms to her; it had been so long since anyone had bothered to embrace her. She had been alone for a long time and had become used to it. Gently, one of her hands rubbed his arm soothingly, as she rested her head back against his. "I'm alright, but see? You're not alone in pain." She said softly, knowing his past haunted him almost as much as her past haunted her. At least they could comfort each other, she mused silently.

His crying slowed, comforted by the knowledge that he was not alone in his sorrow. He tightened slightly as she rubbed his arm, finding her warmth intoxicating, he wanted to feel it forever. "Mmmhmm... We're not alone.. We have each other.." He lifted his head and kissed the back of her head gently, smelling her for a second before resting on her other shoulder. "Do you wanna sit down?... I don't wanna make you stand here if you feel uncomfortable.." He lessened his grip and turned her around, looking into her eyes, the tears had now stopped, though his eyes had tears hanging from them.

"It has been a rather long day," she said on a sigh, brushing the hair from his eyes with a soft smile. Her slim fingers linked through his own as she moved past him, using the link to move him into the livingroom with her. Her slim form took seat upon the couch and she let go of his hand to pick up the remote to the tv, flicking on the news before setting it on the coffee table. "Come, sit with me," she said as she patted the empty spot beside her on the couch as her feet became propped upon the table in front of them.

"Mmmhmm.. Long day indeed.." He smiled as he felt his hair being played with again. He followed her into the livingroom as she held his hand, he found himself feeling better already, he'd forgotten how fast other people could make him forget his negative thoughts, and not just create them. He sat down next to her on the couch, curling up and resting his head on her lap, blinking at the TV. "So.. What does this thing really do?" He said pointing at the screen "I've seen them before but never got to ask".

A soft smile flitted across her lips as she began to slide her fingers through his hair to gently pet him. "It's a television." She said. "Right now, the news is on. It lets people know what's happening in the world while we're busy living our own lives." Nimble fingers caressed through his ear and then touched up on his ears to gently pet them. It was strange how comforting this was. "Would you like to live with me, Kotaro?" she asked softly, thinking perhaps that she had finally spent too much time alone. It was starting to get to her, really. It's true what they say you know - one is the loneliest number.

He purred gently as he felt her hands in his hair, he was beginning to fall asleep "Huh... Cool... So you can learn from this thing as well I asume?..." He snuggled a bit closer to her, loving her warmth. When she asked he paused, pushing himself up so his head was level with her's "You... Want me to stay?..." He said, his eyes focused entirly on her now, he'd completly forgotten about the TV "I... I wanna stay with you... I've been alone so long and.. You've shown me such kindness.." He moved closer to her and licked her on the cheek affectionatly "Yes.. I want to live with you Yuki" He said, smiling widely.

She smiled and giggled softly as he licked her cheek affectionately. She gently combed her fingers through his hair, petting him again softly. "Thank you...I too have been alone for far too long. We can be each other's company." She smiled and nuzzled his cheek with her own, before patting her lap again. "C'mon, lay back down. You should be resting after your ordeal," she said with a small, gentle tap to the tip of his nose. "Don't be afraid to sleep if you need to, I don't mind."

He purred again as he felt her brush against his cheek, blushing slightly. "Well... I am tired... Ok then.." He moved down and rested his head on her lap, curling up as his tail began to swish around, relaxed. "Mmmm... Thank you too..." He murmoured as he slowly fell asleep, her body-heat warming him, making him feel very comfortable "Hmmm..." He drifted off into sleep, his tail resting on his side.

She smiled and nodded, running her fingers through his hair to pet him as he rested on her lap. Fingers deftly sifted through the strands before gently caressing the feline ears resting in his air. He was so cute, she thought with another smile, turning her eyes to the television to catch the end recap of the news. She sighed then softly, wondering what to do about work...she had just lost her job and she was going to need one to be able to let her and Kotaro live peacefully together.

Kotaro rested against her, purring softly as his tail wrapped around both of them. His ears twitched slightly as she played with them, a small blush crossing his face. He slowly began to curl into her, eventually mirroring her positioning on the couch. His ears moved to face the TV instinctivly as it was the biggest sound in the area, causing him to just be awake enough to register her body-heat.

She smiled as he curled up to her and she continued to pet his hair and ears, enjoying the companionability he gave. The news began to filter somewhat slowly through her mind as the day began to catch up with her; it had been a long day and she was beginning to feel it. She was plenty exhausted. Her eye lids began to droop triedly, but she managed to keep them pried open for a few moments...before they slid shut and she began to doze on the couch, her fingers very slowly caressing through the silken strands of his hair now. Not asleep, but no awake - Yuki found his body heat warming her pleasantly as she began to doze. It was oddly comforting and she actually enjoyed being this close with someone. Well, not just someone. With Kotaro.

Morning came, Kotaro was awoken by light comming in through the windows. He opened his eyes, leaning up to look around the room groggily, the TV was still running, and the morning news was just beginning to start. He yawned slowly, his ears drooping against his head tiredly, and he stretched his arms out as he moved to kneel next to Yuki. After a few moments of stretching he was done, he rubbed his eyes and turned to look at Yuki, a smile spreading over his face. He moved down and licked her tenderly on the cheek, purring softly to try and wake her up "Yuki... It's morning..."

Dazedly, she became aware of something wet against her cheek and a soft rumbling noise. A kitten? She stretched her arms, a little stiff from the way she had fallen asleep on the couch the night before. Tiredly, her eyes fluttered open and she saw Kotaro there; it was then that the night came back to her and she smiled, gently rubbing her fingers across his hair. She yawned widely. "Good morning," she said, sitting up now as she rubbed her eyes. "I must have been exhausted to have passed out on the couch." Her fingers them went up to fidget and muss up her own hair, the almost silver lockes falling messily around her youthful face.

"Mmm.. I haven't slept so well in years..." Kotaro yawned again and played with her hair as it fell over her face "Did you sleep well?" He smiled and licked her cheek again, before nuzzling into her neck, smelling her softly. After a few minutes he moved up and stood next to the couch, looking to the kitchen, his stomach growled slightly, betraying his thoughts. He blushed and looked at Yuki, playing with his hands a little nervously "Umm... Is it ok if we have some food now? I'm kinda hungry.." He tilted his head and smiled cheekily, his tail swishing playfully.

Yukinata couldn't help the small blush that came across her cheeks as he nuzzled her neck. Her fingers caressed the hair at the nape of his neck before he stood up. She chuckled softly as his stomache growled, but then her's growled in response and she blushed, a little embarrassed. Standing up from the couch, she stretched again, taking a long moment to allow all her muscles and joints adiquate time to become active after the way she had fallen asleep. Smiling, she moved towards the kitchen and pulled the fridge open to look through it. "Hmmm." She looked over what was inside. "What would you like for breakfast, Kotaro?"

He followed her into the kitchen, sticking his head underneath her's to see what was inside "Umm... Is there any milk?... And I guess I could just have some bread, that's what I normally have.." He looked up at her, blushing slightly as he saw her from below, looking at her hair as is fell down her face "And maybe some butter along with it?" He added, removing his head from the fridge and going to the table, pulling out a chair and placing himself on it, his stomach rumbled again, a little bit more loudly this time "Heh.. Not really good for me to have fish again is it?"

She smiled down at him as he peeked from under her to look inside of the fridge with her. He really was cute, she mused as he moved back to go sit at the table. "Well, if you want some, don't be afraid to ask," she said as she pulled the gallon of the milk out of the fridge with one hand, and butter with the other, using her hip to shut it once she was done. She set them on the counter and pulled the loaf of bread from the top of the fridge, taking out two slices and popping them into the toaster. As the bread toasted, she poured him a glass of milk, bringing it over to him, going back to the toaster once it popped up the now toasted bread. She pulled out a knife, using it to butter the toast, bringing it to him before moving back to put the milk, butter, and bread away.

He watched her from the table, his eyes moving to her hips as she closed the fridge, his eyes darting back up to her as her face came into view smiling, shaking the thoughts from his mind he didn't want to think of her like that. He followed the bread as she put it into the toaster, taking the glass of milk once it was poured, taking a small draft from it and setting it back on the table "Heh... What are you having?" He asked as she handed the toast to him, a little bit curious to what else there was to eat besides bread and fish, his ears perking up as he looked at her in a questioning manner.

Yuki blinked for a moment. Then, she laughed a little, embarrassed. She had completely forgotten to make herself something to eat. "I think I'll just have a bowl of cereal," she mumured and moved to pour some kix into a bowl and then got the milk back out to pour some into her cereal. She put it away, grabbed a spoon, and then came back to the table and sat down. She munched on her cereal, tucking her hair behind her for it to stay out of the way as she ate. Eyeing him, she wondered if he was enjoying his food.

He giggled slightly "You forgot? Even I don't forget that easily.." He smiled and watched her, eyeing the cereal in her bowl, he would have to try that some time. Once she had sat down he picked up one of the pieces of toast and bit it, munching and savouring the flavour "Mmm... This is good... How's your.. What was it?-cereal?" He blushed slightly, evidently he did forget that easily.

Yukinata's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he stated that even he didn't forget so easily. Her fingers tucked her hair back again and she smiled after she chewed another bite. "It's good, nothing too extrodinary though." She said. "And I often times forget to eat...with work being as hectic as it is...eh, as hectic as it was," she corrected herself with a sigh, "I often get, or got, so busy I didn't have time to worry about food." She took another bite of the kix, then another, soon coming to the bottom of the bowl. "Just a bad habit," she said with a smile as she set her spoon down and looked back up to him.

He continued to eat his toast, taking another bite out of it and chewing, swallowing before he began to talk again "As hectic as it was?" He tilted his head, a little confused, the concept of work was unfamiliar in his mind. After a few minutes he was done eating and licked his plate clean, setting it down and smiling "This was nice, never had bread and butter done like that before... The plates go there don't they?" He got up and took the two plates, carefully carrying them to the sink and putting them in, he wanted to be helpfull and not be lazy.
