The princess was a pampered soul from the day she was born, a sweet creature that had been born into the lap of luxury and truly belonged there. As a child, she had been blessed with everything she could ever want. But money could not purchase a friend for the lonely child.

At least not until she was seven. On that birthday, she was gifted her closest friend, a young anthro pup that was to be her pet. The creature was older and taller than her even at that age, but was still pampered enough that there was play left in his heart. The princess had found what true happiness was at last. The first few years were the best, with days full of play and laughter. As she grew older, the play turned to hours of talking. He was her closest friend and only confidant.

After a while, the two had become inseparable and it seemed only natural that the anthro be permitted to sleep in her bedchambers -- first, on a padded bed on the floor, then later at the foot of her bed. It wasn't long before the two were found nestled together in innocent embrace, the epitome of close friendship.

Even with the years of play behind them, she found it impossible to let her friend go. She had blossomed into a woman, and he from pup to full canine. The years had changed them but had not separated them. At the age of eighteen, she still refused to have her pet sleep anywhere besides her bed.

The cuddling had remained innocent. For a while.

In the quiet of the night, Elle slid her hand over to find him, her fingers brushing softly through the fur on his chest. He leaned in to her touch, their bodies so close she could feel the heat of his breath on her neck. He nipped at her gently, bringing soft little gasps from her lips, her body arching up into him. His hand moved on her body, first grasping her breast, fondling her through her silk nightdress. It moved then, following the curve of her side until his fingers found the edge of her dress.

Her breathing was ragged, electricity thrumming through every inch of her skin. His hand formed a trail of static, moving from her outer to inner thigh then finally cupping her sex gently. Elle blushed. She hadn't been aware she didn't wear panties. He pushed up her night dress to her stomach, sliding his hand away from her just enough to tease at her clit, making her press up to him in eager anticipation. Her breathing had grown heavier, body absolutely aching for him now.

His tongue was on her neck, followed by another nip. He worked his way down her body in slow motions, finally stopping between her legs. His tongue brushed her slow, teasing before he began. It wasn't long before her hands were on his head, her teeth biting into her lower lip to stifle her sounds of pleasure. He stopped just as she was on the verge of orgasm, grinning from between her legs. As he leaned up, she glanced down at him. His cock was erect, the tip almost dripping with precum.

"I'm ready." She whispered, watching as he leaned over her, slowly letting his tip rub against her virginal opening. Her arms wrapped around him, enjoying the heat from his body as she anticipated her virginity being broken. His muscles tensed, his tip entered, she gasped and -- and woke up.

Elle awoke feeling an odd mix of excitement and embarrassment. Her sex was alive with need over her dreamed fantasy of sex, her legs clamping together to try and stop the electricity. Her pet, her /real/ pet, lay next to her still. Her cheeks were hot and her body cold with a light sweat. The dream had come before, but never so intense. And as always, it was so hard to shake.

She propped herself up on her elbow, steadying her breathing as she touched his shoulder. "Hey... Are you awake?"

Ulven yawned. His tongue curling as he did so and his teeth producing a cloud click as his mouth snapped shut again. His ears twitched as his piercing yellow eyes opened to look upon his princess, his friend. She was awake again in the middle of the night. Another bad dream he reasoned. His tail thumped the mattress and he stretched out his arms as he arched his back and the blankets came up off her due to his large size. It was all involuntary, she had been the one to wake him up. "I am now." He mumbled with a hint of annoyance he could only get away with in their private moments when others were not their to reprimand him of such small disrespect.

Elle rolled over completely when he stretched, curling up against his side once he had settled back down onto the bed. "I didn't mean to wake you." She whispered, feeling genuinely apologetic about the fact that she'd disturbed him. Her hand reached out and touched his chest, sinking her fingers into his fur. "I can't sleep again." She admitted, wriggling closer to him as if she needed his comfort.

Ulven stretched once again. His head settled higher up the pillow so that her was nestled beneath his chin. Her stretched his arm over body and embraced her against his soft fur as his tail moved to lay over her thigh. His nostrils flared for a moment. He could smell her excitement with ease though had no way of knowing he was the source of it. Humans were curious creatures and their bodies often had the same reaction to a multitude of things. He reasoned that her dream had just made her uncomfortable or that maybe it was he monthly heat. THAT was one of the most perplexing things about human females, every month they entered heat where as anthro females only did so twice a year. Anthros could mate for pleasure of course but pregnancy was only a chance during the times of heat or must. No matter the reason, Ulven would calm Princess Elle down and they would go back to sleep shortly.

She buried her face into his fur, breathing in the musky, masculine scent that was so familiar and so good to her. It did nothing to quell the leftover bits of her dream, instead fanning the gently smoldering coals into another raging fire. "I have been having odd dreams lately, Ulven," She admitted, stroking his chest softly in a fashion that used to soothe her when she was a child. But he was no longer a silk-furred pup. No, he'd formed muscles beneath the fur and had grown to be quite the impressive beast. There was no denying that he was of top physical shape now. And she, too, had changed, not only from being a precocious child but also becoming a woman that was endowed with ample enough breasts to garner attention.

"They have been dreams about you." She admitted, wanting to talk about it but not sure what would be the best way to put it, "Do you... Dream?"

"They have been dreams about you." She admitted, wanting to talk about it but not sure what would be the best way to put it, "Do you... Dream?"
Ulven's hairs bristled on the back of his neck as she stroked him. Her actions were not that much different from rubbing a dog's belly. He had to think about the question for a moment. Did he dream? How would he know if what Elle considered a dream to be the same thing? "I see things." He mumbled. "Usually it's very dark and I am running. I think I'm chasing something but I'm never sure what." He salivated a bit at the thought of a hunt. He was fed well as the Princess's Pet but as such was never allowed to hunt on his own. There were a lot of things he had never been allowed to do due to his position. Not that he resented that fact, not at all, there were plenty of his kind who lived very harsh lives whereas he lived in relative comfort never having to fight or hunt or run from anything. "I am in your dreams? I don't remember being in them."

His description of a dream wasn't that much of a dream in her opinion. It was more like... Well, kind of like what she would have thought of a simple house pet, not the anthro that he was. "Oh..." She didn't know what else to say, but it did explain a lot about the kicking that sometimes happened in the middle of hte night when he got to be restless. It was so easy for her to forget how much of the canine traits were still in him. Elle couldn't help but laugh a bit when he mentioned he didn't remember he was in her dream, shaking her head, "No, you wouldn't remember. Dreams for people are different. They are vivid. We dream like..." She fought for words, but found nothing, "It's almost like it's really happening."

Elle's hand continued down his stomach, scratching just a little bit. "I dream about you a lot." She whispered, her hand venturing ever lower towards his hips.

Elle's hands were beginning to stray from their normal spot. It didn't really bother him, he was her pet and he didn't mind being scratched here and there. These dreams sounded terrible though, how confusing would it be to have to deal with two realities? That brought a thought to his head that was probably dangerous for an anthro to think out loud. "Am I your pet in these dreams as well?" He didn't dislike being her pet but there had been times throughout his life where being an anthro had it's major downsides. There had been quite a fuss the first time he and Elle were found in bed together. Ulven also wasn't allowed outside by himself. Could only eat when given food. Had literally no say in anything. Had sometimes been put away when there were large gatherings of people in the palace and Elle needed to make an appearance. In this alternate reality though, was he still a pet or something else?

Her hands wanted to go further but she didn't dare move any further than that just yet, letting her words sink in to Ulven's mind. Surely he would be able to connect the dots on what she was saying, though it seemed like she was asking too much of him. He was, afterall, only partially human. He wouldn't be able to think as clearly with his animal part still taking up most of his conscious mind... But he asked a very important question, that made her bite her lip just a bit.

"Yes... And no." She admitted finally, "You are my pet but you are also... More." She let her hand slide down that final bit, sliding over his sheath slowly.

At first Ulven did not understand what she meant by "more" but it became very clear as Elle's hand ventured even lower. "Elle, that is not my tail." He said a little nervous. That mistake had happened once before and he sorely hoped this was the same thing. It wasn't that Ulven didn't find Elle attractive. She had grown into a very beautiful human woman. A HUMAN woman. He knew that some human males kept female anthros for...well...entertainment purposes but that was a taboo and also had never been a part of he and Elle's relationship. His member did twitch slightly at her touch though, he couldn't help it as his body reacted to her attentions.

Elle felt her cheeks grow hot after a few moments at the very intimate touch she was performing. He mentioned that she wasn't stroking his tail and she felt herself grow even hotter, continuing her attention on him. She was silent for a moment before letting her grasp grow a bit firmer, her thumb rubbing over the very tip of his sheath, "I... I know." She said finally, hoping that her touch wouldn't drive him away.

That's exactly what it. Ulven removed himself from the bed like a feline anthro from water. All of his fur was on end, his eyes wide in shock. He didn't understand, he was desperately confused by it all. Why would Elle think of him in that way? Is this what she had been dreaming? If the King found out then Ulven would be killed without question. Not knowing how to handle all of this, Ulven ran to the balcony and lept into the garden to go find a dark place to hide. Rules be damned! He would gladly suffer the consequences of leaving the palace alone before he kept himself in that situation. It was a standard fight or flight response and fighting Elle was not, would never be an option.

Instead of being interested in her touch, he seemed to be repulsed by it, running from her as if she'd suggested that they set his tail on fire for her amusement. Elle felt a sort of hurt that she hadn't felt before, forcing herself up out of the bed after him, stopping at the balcony, "Ulven!" She called after him into the garden, but she didn't dare leap as well. What had she done wrong? They had always been so close and she had thought he would't mind her wanting more from him... It was... Terrible. "Ulven, please. Come back to bed."

Ulven flinched hearing her call. He couldn't have her yelling like that, it would attract the guards! He weighed his choices. Stay here and have to explain why she was asking calling out for him in the middle of the night or make his way back up the balcony and deal with the issue there. His dark figure rose from the bushes where she could see him. He walked back to the edge of the building and jumped up several feet so that he could grab at a jagged stone and pull himself up to grab another until he hauled himself back onto the balcony. He stood there trembling, his tail tucked between his legs and a slight whimper escaped his lips, he felt trapped in the worst kind of way. He longed to run but knew that he couldn't. He remained silent, his eyes focused on the ground in front of him, not wanting to look at Elle's face, at her well shaped body, even several feet away her scent filled his snout.

Her pet returned to her without a fight, but it was plain to see that he had not wanted to return to her at all. "Ulven, please," She didn't try to close the space between them as she normally would, mostly because she could see it plain on his face that he didn't want to pursue the path that she wanted. "Ulven, I didn't mean to scare you, I just... I'm not a little girl anymore, Ulven. I'm a woman. I have had my bloods for moons now and I... I am changing." She cupped her breasts in her hands then slid her hands down her sides, to accent her growing curves, "I am a woman. And a woman has needs... Don't you feel the urge?"

Ulven's whimper turned on a dime to a low growl. Not directed at her but instead at himself for feeling the urge she spoke of. "It would not be right. They would kill me if anyone found out." He said trying to keep his eyes on the ground but she made it difficult by touching herself. "The King will find you a husband soon. He will take care of your...needs." Ulven wasn't sure humans really had needs, not like anthros did. Anthros would claw their way through doors to get to a female anthro in heat. Her must would be like a hypnotizing drug to a male. It was a very big problem out in the towns and rural areas. It was one of the reasons male anthros were preferred labor, they didn't attract other males.

Tears formed in her eyes at his words, her hands moving from her hips to her face as if he'd struck her and she needed to protect herself from another one, "I don't want a husband, Ulven." She whispered it through her hands, turning her back on him and crawling back into her bed, "I have never wanted a husband. If I get a husband I will have to share his bed and be mother to his children and... I don't want that. I enjoy sharing a bed with you and our union can't create an offspring." She curled up, feeling awful for how he viewed it, how he viewed her. "You were not just a pet to me. You never have been."

Being a pet was all Ulven had ever known. He could not help these things. Elle was indeed his friend but he could not bring himself to do what she wanted this time. He walked back into the room and curled up in a ball on the floor at her side of the bed. Tomorrow, he thought to himself, things would be better tomorrow after they had slept. That night Ulven would again have visions of running through the woods, chasing something. Though that image was a bit clearer this time, that image was almost human.

Elle slept fitfully, but sleep she did. This time, the dreams didn't come to her, but she did wake up and find that her beloved pet hadn't returned to the bed in the middle of the night as she'd hoped. She felt hot, fat tears escape from her with a short whimper and a gasp, fighting against the urge to cry harder than what was permitted. Morning came and she felt awful, forcing herself into her normal schedule. "Ulven, wake up. It's morning." She didn't greet him with her normal hug, feeling awkward as she struggled to think of what she even could say at this point. "I... I am going to take a bath." She told him, leaving him to sit in the room while she wandered off to the large bathroom just a door away from her bedroom.

Ulven did not move. In truth he had been awake for over an hour but did not feel like engaging with Elle right after she had woken up. Once she left the room he stretched himself out and yawned just as he had last night. Standing up right he sniffed the air and walked out onto the balcony to see Nyla, one of the feline anthros perched on the railing, out of sight from the bedroom. "Hello, Ulven. Such a beautiful morning." She purred and stretched in front of him, the scraps of cloth that she wore did little to hid her shapely form. Her tan fur glinted slightly in the sunlight. "What are you doing here, Nyla? Don't you have...something to do?" Ulven wasn't entirely sure what Nyla's purpose was here as he never really saw her work. They ran into each other from time to time throughout the palace and on the grounds. She always looked like she was up to no good. Furthermore there were strict rules about the anthros just flitting about the palace un-escorted, especially to the bedchambers.

"Oh I just came to check on the Princess's guard dog. We're having visitors later today. I'm sure they will want you by her side showing off your teeth and you....powerful figure." Her voice turned husky at the end. Ulven was aware that Nyla had an interest in him but it was not a mutual feeling. Though she was beautiful she was also dangerous, fortunately for him they kept her locked away during heat. "I'm sure it will be nothing." He said and walked back into the bedroom. "I wouldn't be so sure, they're bringing anthros with them." she called after him but by the time he turned around to question her she had disappeared. He stood there at the balcony looking perplexed.

A bath, Elle reasoned, was probably the best thing for her right now. The water was so hot that it turned her skin a bright pink and scented just enough to make everything it touched have a hint of rose petals. The steam did more than clean her body, it cleared her mind. Obviously it had been wrong of her to approach Ulven the way she did. She would have to think things through and let him come to her.

Just as she was coming from the bath, she caught the murmur of voices from her room, something very out of the ordinary. "Ulven?" She returned to the room, her only covering being a towel that she was currently using to take her wild hair into submission, "Who were you talking to, pet? Do I have a visitor?" She sat herself down on the edge of the bed, her back to him as she fussed with her hair.

"I have news for you, pet. I don't know how you will feel about it."

Ulvan turned towards her. His look of confusion remained. It was very unusual for Elle to refer to him as pet when it was just the two of them. She must be upset with him over the events of last night. He hoped this would not last long, human women, he had observed, could hold grudges for a very long time. "Whatever it may be, I am here." This was his typical response to things he had no control over. He was glad that Nyla was gone before Elle had returned though, he was certain nothing good could come of them interacting.

Elle glanced at him over her shoulder, chewing her lip. "We will be having a guest in the castle today... It is Prince Gunter of Ityr. Rumor says he is bringing gifts for my father and myself." She didn't sound excited, but rather forlorn about it. Elle was quiet for a moment, then murmured, "Father wishes for me to bed the Prince so that he will be convinced to wed me."

Ulven scratched himself thinking about what she said. It seemed rather backwards, "Don't humans normally we'd first and then mate? Something about abstinence and sanctity?" He thought those were the right words. Humans seemed to have a very different concept of mating when it came to one another, it was sometimes difficult for Ulven to understand.

"Ordinarily, yes. But father believes the Prince to be of peculiar tastes and behaviors. He says that he has been seen disobeying laws publicly. The Prince doesn't wish to wed. I do not wish to wed him... Or bed him." her confessions were highly inappropriate, mostly because she should have felt honored that a Prince was interested, but also because it contradicted a direct command from her father. "If I wed the Prince, I will not be permitted to take you with me."
