A few months prior

Cody was on his way home from school, the bus had just drop him a few blocks away from his home. It was a bright sunny friday evening. The weather was warm, being quite a beautiful late spring day. Summer would soon arrive, being right around the corner. Cody wore a blue and black button up shirt, that was rolled up to his elbows, he had on dark black pants and black converse sneakers. Carrying his book bag, he also held onto his gym bag. Cody was a member of the soccer team at his school, it was his favorite sport and he enjoyed it immensely, because of the sport it meant that Cody was in great shape. He was lean but skinny. Still being sixteen, his body had a little bit more growing to do. Inside his gym bag, he had his soccer uniform and cleats. During gym class he would have practice, he was also scheduled to have practice after school but because of the nice weather the coach decided to cancel, which was rather odd. It seemed like today was a really lucky day for Cody. He also found out that he had gotten an A on two of the test he took, he was excited to show his parents the grades when he would arrive home. Brushing back his black hair out of his forehead, he had wish he wore his sunglasses today, the sun was rather bright as his dark green eyes quenched at the beaming light.

Cody wasn't the only one who was enjoying the sunshine. On the other side of town, his father Jonathan had left work about an hour early. He was the owner of his own restaurant. Being owner meant he usually was able to set his own hours, but today he decided to go and spend some time with his family. He had his chief make a personal doggy bag, of his wife and son's favorites for him to take home. Before leaving the restaurant, he grabbed the three large brown bags as he smiled and waved off everyone. Jonathan wore a white collar shirt, and some blue jeans. Heading into his black SUV, he quickly drove off making his way home.

After about half an hour of driving Jonathan arrived home around the same time as his son. "Hey there champ!" Jonathan said as he honk his horn at his son who instantly looked up. "Dad!" He said running over to the car, as his father was parking it into the driveway. "What are you doing home so early?" he asked curiously. "I can say the same for you! Don't you have soccer practice?" The father asked laughing as he turned off the ignition of his car. Shaking his head Cody smiled. "Nope! Coach cancelled it on account of the nice weather!" Stepping out of the car, Jonathan grabbed the bags from the back seat of the car. "Oh really? I did something similar I decided to take off work early! Your mother texted me and said she will be home soon. She left around the same time I did, so she should be here any minute. Why don't you help me take these bags in. I brought our favorite chicken fingers and fries from the restaurant." he smirked as he handed his son the bag with his food. "Oh really?! Thanks dad! You're the best!" he said with his face lightening up. "Today is really turning out to be the best day ever!" The father and son made their way inside as they place the pants on the dinner table. "Oh is that so? Why don't you go up stairs and change. Your mother should be home by the time you come down. We can eat, and you can tell us how your day went!" he told Cody as he rubbed his sons head.

Cody Quickly nodded running up the stairs as he stripped himself from his school clothes. Changing into some pajama bottoms and a shirt, Cody went to the the bathroom to wash his face and freshen up a little bit. Looking at himself in the mirror he couldn't help but smile. Meanwhile, Jonathan was preparing the food grabbing plates and forks. Switching on the t.v. he looked at the news as he was dipping out the food wanting to surprise his wife when she got home. Suddenly a loud screeching beeping noise sounded from the t.v as the screen went red. Cody placed his hands over his head as he ran downstairs, covering his hears. "Dad what is that?!" Suddenly a message came across the t.v screen. 'This is not a Test! This is not a Test!'. It was soon followed by a computerized voice. "The state is under national security, please stay in doors at this moment.."

The hospital hadn't been feeling the effects of the hot day due to the air conditioning inside. Patients were lined up on their seats against the walls in the corridor waiting to be seen by their consultants. Lilly Evans was one of them consultants and her patients loved her. She was very quick in her appointments, not keeping anyone more than ten minutes at a time. In that moment she could go in to detail about what was wrong with them and how they could fix it together, whether it needed some kind of medication or surgery.

To get out of work at four in the afternoon was quite the accomplishment for Lilly as she was normally buried in paperwork later on in the day. She decided to skip that as she had no appointments the following day and could catch up with it tomorrow.

Driving home, she was busy heading down the high street when a sudden voice came on from the radio. It had interrupted the song which was playing on the station to tell everyone to stay indoors. Lilly pulled a confused facial expression and started to pick up the speed of her driving.

Pulling in to her driveway, the mother and wife got out of her car and saw a neighbour arriving at his home. "Hey?! Do you know what is going on?!" She shouted, holding her hand to her forehead to keep the beaming sun out of her eyes.

"No, but it isn't a joke. They have soldiers at every state border!"

A fluttering appeared in her the pit of her belly, nerves making her shake as she opened her front door with her keys before seeing her son and husband. "Guys?!" Lilly shouted, hoping they were both home. Walking in to the living area wearing her black heels, she soon sat in between her two guys and watched the television with them. There was no person on, just a red fuzzy looking screen with the word 'ALERT' written on it. The same deep voice which sounded robotic and computerized repeated over and over again.

"John next door said they had soldiers on every border? What do you think is going on?"

The two men were in a bit of a panic. More so Cody was, he was scared wondering what was going on. Never before had he witness something like this. Hearing his mother say that they were soldiers at every border, didn't do well to comfort him either. "What's going on..?" Cody said with a weak voice turning slightly pale. Jonathan looked to his son to try and comfort the boy as he placed a hand around his shoulders. "Hey don't worry son, whatever it is, the soldiers are here to protect us..right..?" he said shooting Lily a small look asking for support. Cody was getting to the age where he was almost a full man, but because of his upbringing he was baby'd quite a lot. He was a good kid, just needed a little growing up mentally.

"So I guess we'll just stay inside. After all I brought you guys your favorite meals from the restaurant. Why don't we eat and just chat." Jonathan said getting up trying to comfort his family. He was obviously a bit nervous himself, but he kept it inside in order to make his family feel safe. Grabbing the remote he was about to turn off the t.v. when suddenly a woman came on. "Panic is filling the streets as a sudden outbreak is spreading, turning humans into.." The woman was outside, near what seemed like a military camp. Gun fire could be heard as the picture of the t.v. was breaking in and out, as it suddenly just stopped. The news channel instantly switched to the guy at the headquarters. A man in a well dress suit came on along side some other news anchors. "We are urging everyone to get in doors. If you're listening to this and you're at work, stay in doors. To the people who are driving find the nearest safe place you can, and take shelter. The state is under an emergency. We want everyone to remain calm, keep checking into the news station, and we will brief you up on updates of what is going on." With that the red image just came back on the t.v.

Jonathan and Cody were both stunned gazing at what just happened. "Were..those gun shots!?" Cody said a bit excited. "They're probably just terrorist or something, don't worry about it. The soldiers will protect us.." Jonathan said. "What about the outbreak? What was that lady talking about?!" Cody continued on which was making his father a little annoyed. "I said everything is going to be okay?! I don't know what is going on, but if we listen to the news station, and stay inside we will be fine! Now..lets go eat okay!" he said forcing a smile. Jonathan rarely raised his voice at Cody, it showed that he was indeed a bit sacred and worried about the situation. Nervously and a bit shaken Cody got up and silently went with his dad over to the kitchen table and sat down.

Lilly sat there and listened to Jonathan raise his voice at Cody. He rarely ever did so but on each occasion that he did the mother would step in to protect her son. This time however the brunette was staying silent, not getting involved whilst staring at the TV screen which had returned to a series.

The two males got up and left the woman on the sofa until she joined them in the kitchen a few seconds later. A large wooden table was in the dining area between the kitchen and living room and Lilly made them eat there. The two adults sat at opposite ends whilst their son was in the middle between them both to the side.

The mother didn't know what to say or what to talk about, she looked at her phone and saw nearly seven messages from people, people whom were her friends and family. "I'm just going to call my dad" she said, just as the food was being dished out.

Going in to the corridor, Lilly sat down on the stairs leading up to the floor above and rang her father. "Hey, do you know what is going on?" Was her first comment, not even asking how he was. Judging by her reactions to his words on the other end of the line he to had no idea. "The woman on the TV said it was some kind of outbreak? Well you work in a lab Dad, I thought you would of known something?" Scratching the back of her neck, she soon rubbed it with her fingers after scratching to hard.

"I don't know. Whatever it is, it will be fine. If there are outbreaks it is usually contained with in twenty four hours of....."

Bringing the phone down to look at it, Lilly repeatedly brought it to and back from her ear. "Hello? Dad?" The signal on her phone had died making her feel even more nervous.

Going back in to the dining area, the doctor took her place at the table and stared at her family. "The phone just went dead, does yours work?"

Jonathan quickly started to dig in and eat. While Cody on the other hand was just playing with his food. When Lily came back, Jonathan could tell she was worried about something. "The phone went dead?" he said with a curious slightly grumpy look. He hated how she said these things in front of Cody, it did nothing but make the poor boy worry even more. Checking his phone he noticed it was dead, but their wifi internet connection was working. "I have no signal, but the wifi in the house is working. Maybe our phone company is doing some maintenance." They had different providers for their internet and phone service so what he said could have been true. "Don't worry about it. Let's all just try and remain calm okay?" he said with a cheeky smile as he placed his hand over his wife's gently grasping it. "So how was school today Cody?" he said turning towards his son.

"It was fine, I got two A's on my test.." he said in a dead tone. The excitement that he had felt earlier on had completely left him. "Ah really?! That's amazing champ!" Jonathan said playfully punching his arm, to get a reaction out of him. Turning to his wife, he asked her the same question. "And yours dear?"

The trio ate mostly in silence. It seemed they couldn't enjoy their meal because of what was going outside. Jonathan tried his best to keep them in high spirits but it didn't work too well. After a few hours of basically watching t.v. and not doing much, it was getting late and Jonathan decided a early rest would be good. "Let's get some rest. I'm sure when we all wake up, this whole mess will be gone." Getting up from the couch, he kissed Cody on his forehead as he sent him off to get ready for bed.

After about thirty minutes or so it was lights out for everyone. Cody was in his room, playing his video game instead of sleeping. He couldn't find the energy to sleep. His mind was racing about what was going on outside. Next to his room his father and mother were getting ready to sleep.

"Geez, I really wonder what's going on outside.." Jonathan said in his white shirt, and pajama bottoms. Turning to his beautiful wife he couldn't help but smile at her. She seemed to at least help make him feel better. Wrapping his hands around her waist he approached her from the back. "I know everything will be okay in the morning...for now why don't we enjoy the night?" His slight bulge could be felt against her ass. Moving his hands onto her stomach, it seemed he was in the mood. At least it would be something to do to keep their mind off of what was going on. "Cody is sleeping, so let's...help each other fall asleep.." he said as he threw her onto the bed quickly diving under the sheets to begin their love making.

Morning would soon come, but things wouldn't be back to normal...

"It wasn't to bad" Lilly responded, her attitude changing as well much like her son's. It was a good day for her, getting out early but given the circumstances her emotions ran down. Holding the fork in her right hand, she tried eating what she could but her appetite had left her somewhat and the awkward silence of the dinner table carried over in to the evening in front of the TV screen.

Their son had left them to go to his room, going to sleep they assumed and it wasn't to long afterwards that Lilly was in her own bedroom getting read to go to sleep. The curtains were closed over the window, just like all over the house. Pulling her top over her head, Lilly's black bra hugged her breasts as she unzipped her skirt from the back and lowered it down her long slim legs. The mother had a black thong on which matched the colour of her bra up top.

When her husband came in and wrapped his hands around her waist, Lilly knew what he wanted. "I'm not in the mood" she said playfully, lifting a hand up to his cheek with her back planted against his chest.

"I don't care if he is asleep" she laughed, before giggling as he through her on to the bed with a push. Her long wavy brown hair rattled through the breeze as she tumbled towards the mattress before getting under the covers. Jonathan soon came under them to and the pair enjoyed each other to take their mind of the situation at hand. The bed hit the wall whilst rocking back and forth in time with the man's thrusts in to her and a loud moan echoed from Lilly's lips in to the four walls of the bedrooms.

Early in the morning, Lilly was wearing a white gown which hung down to her knees. The thin white straps across her shoulders were shaken to the side near her arms as she walked to make herself a coffee. Her husband was still in bed, just like he always was on a Saturday morning. On this day, Lilly would normally go in to work to catch up on any paperwork she had left but seeing as she wasn't allowed outside she didn't know what to do with herself.

Looking out of the kitchen window, she saw the street was empty and gathered things were still happening.

Morning had come rather quickly, but the two guys were sleeping soundly. For Cody he had just recently managed to find sleep. During the night he could hear his mother's moans and the walls shake. He couldn't help but find himself awkwardly arouse. He thought about jerking off to the sounds, but it was his mother, it wasn't right. All he could do was sit there with a hard boner as he poked at it. After a hour or so he soon fell asleep.

Jonathan awoken about an hour before noon. Stretching he was feeling excited, he wanted some more of his wife. It had been some time since they last had a night that interesting. Usually she was exhausted from work, and wasn't much in the mood. Making his way down stairs, he looked for her. "Honey?" he called out to find her in the kitchen, wearing a long gown. She was always rather modest with how she dressed he thought. Grabbing onto her by her waist he smiled as he kissed her on the mouth. "Last night was something wasn't it? It's a shame we don't do it more often.." he said chuckling. As he was about to go in for another kiss the two would be suddenly interrupted with loud foot steps running down the stairs. Cody cried out "Mom Dad!" he yelled in a horror. He had his Macbook with him as he placed it on the kitchen counter. "Look at this! This was taken by someone and leaked on the internet! It's from down town!"

The video was rather blurry, loud screams could be heard. A group of people were running for their lives. The person who was recording the video was swinging the camera wildly when suddenly he managed to film his target. The creature looked human, his clothes were torn off and he was bleeding, his arm was half on its bone and half falling off. He was chasing after the man with the camera. The sound of the man yelling could be heard, as the video suddenly went dead.

"Mom....dad..what was that?!" Cody said with tears forming, the poor kid was frighten and scared, he couldn't help himself as he dived into his mother's chest like a scared baby.

Mrs Evans heard her husband come down before swooping her in to his arms and kissing her passionately. "It was fun" she smiled back, resting her hands on his shoulders and giving him her tongue. Breaking away for a little bit of more chit chat their second kiss was interrupted by their son who came rushing down the stairs.

"Be careful!" She insisted, watching the laptop in his grasp tilting and swaying like it was going to fall. As he put it down on the counter in the kitchen he played a video which seem to resemble a part of New York. "Is that near your restaurant?" She said, looking to her husband. The video showed an ugly looking thing screaming and shouting in gargled spit. Blood covered it's body and ripped clothing and it's limbs were hanging off.

"Where did you get this from? Is this one of your jokes?" It was weird for the mother to say that to her son as he wasn't a practical joker. She only said that because she was getting nervous. Suddenly a scream from outside shocked Lilly, making her jump and shake. The coffee which she had made and was drinking left her hand and spilled on to the boy's Macbook making the screen go fuzzy like that of the TV when the announcement was being made. Nothing had been added to it since yesterday, leaving everyone in despair and confusion.

"What is that?!" Going to the window, she didn't even look at the laptop she destroyed and peered out of the blind to see a neighbour being attacked by something hideous. Lilly's heart was fluttering and beating harder than ever. "She is being attacked! Help her!" More screams were coming from a distance with people young and old running for their lives. They were being hunted by other people, people who looked pale and different. "Everyone upstairs! Now!"

"Mom!!?? What the heck!!" Cody said as he grabbed his MacBook trying to get the coffee off of it. Running towards the sink he grabbed a towel, trying to dry off the laptop, but it was no use it was broken. Cody was so into his machine that he barely noticed the scream. Unlike his father who instantly rushed to the window with his mother. The creatures were like something out of a horror movie. "Zombies..?" he muttered to himself, almost in a trance as he was awoken by his wife's scream. "We have to pack.." he said suddenly. "Cody!!! Go upstairs and get your bag, and pack" he said quickly, pushing the boy upstairs. Quickly Jonathan started to shut off the lights and close the shades and lock the doors. Peaking once more outside, he saw what seemed like an army of the walking dead. There was no way that they would be able to leave now. They had to wait for the right moment.

Running he grabbed his car keys, and headed up the stairs. Grabbing a small Adidas sport bag, he began to throw some of his clothing inside, along with other things flashlights. "There are a ton of them outside. We won't be able to make it. Pack some food..we are going to stay in here until there's a good time for us to leave, once those creatures leave we are going to get into the car..." Jonathan said ordering his wife as he filled up his bag. Looking around, he managed to find some extra batteries inside his closet, as he tossed them inside. "I'm going to check on Cody...try not to turn on any lights or anything..I'm not sure what attracts them..but I don't want to risk it" he said trying his best to keep a tone and level head.

Meanwhile Cody was in his room crying, he was huddled into a ball. Jonathan instantly fell down to his knees to comfort him. "Cody! Listen to me..everything is going to be okay." he told him kissing him on the head. At this point he wished he would have made him more into a man. "Right now, you have to be strong okay? Be strong for your mother and me?" he said showing a small smile. "Nothing will happen to us. So just pack okay? Once everything is settled outside we will take the car and head for New Jersey. Judging from the news it seems like this outbreak is only in New York." Jonathan said that to Cody to make him feel better, but little did he know he was dead wrong. "Now i'm going to check on your mother okay? Stay in your room, and pack. Once you're done we'll all camp out in the attic." Shaking his head, he went back to find his wife almost done packing. "Lily..." he said softly calling her by her first name. Heading to the closet once more he pulled out a black leather case. Opening it up with a key, it held a gun. "Take this.." he whispered to her, as he loaded it, not taking off the safety. "Whatever you do...don't let Cody see it, unless you have to use it okay?" he said placing it in her hands as he held onto her giving her a big hug. "I love you, so much. Now go and pack some food." sending her off he sat on the bed with his hands on his head thinking about what was going to happened to them.

After their little talk, it had set Cody in somewhat high spirits. Packing he wished his mother hadn't destroyed his MacBook. He placed his PS Vita, his IPhone and some clothes along with other nicknacks. Taking a deep breath he sighed wiping away the tears from his face. Trying to be strong, he looked at the window. It was cover in curtains. Making his way over to it, he wanted to look outside, but he didn't he was too scared as he started to shake. After a few minutes or so his father came to get him. "You're all pack? Good...now come!" he said grabbing his bag as he made his way into the hallway. Heading up to the attic with the rest of his family he placed the bags on the floor. "We will be able to see all of outside now from the window." he told them with a smile. "Here honey.." pulling out a spare set of keys he toss them to his wife. "You're a better driver than me.." he chuckled. "You'll drive once the coast is clear, for now come lets sit together" he told his wife and son.

A few hours had pass and the family were huddled against each other, Cody was wrapped around one side of his father and Lily on the other. "It's getting late.." he said as he got up from between the two. Looking out the window it seemed the number of zombies had died down, by more than three thirds. Smiling this was their chance. "There's almost about a handful of them outside...now..this might be our only chance." Grabbing the bags he gave them each their own bag. "Okay, now once we get downstairs we can to rush for the garage and enter the car okay?" Heading downstairs Jonathan placed a finger to his lips as he whispered. "Be quite okay? No loud noises." As they made their way down one flight of stairs and then the other they were now in the kitchen. It was almost six o clock. The family had a old antique grand father clock, that was passed down from Lily's side of the family. The clock would ring every six hours. As the hands hit 6 and then 12 the clock made a loud noise. Something the family had completely forgotten.

In an instance the backyard door started to shake and suddenly the glass broke. Soon after the door broken down, and a horde of zombies started to rush in and enter the house. Cody was struck with fear at the sight of them. Some were males other were females, of all ages and ethnicity. They all had the smell of rotting flesh, the smell of death. Jonathan instantly went in front of the family as he pushed Cody and Lily back. "Go into the garage..." he said shaking obviously scared but wanting to protect his family. "START THE CAR, I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU OKAY?!" he yelled as he grabbed a kitchen roller, and rushed into the mob of zombies that were entering in. Wildly he started to thrust it to hold them off long enough for his family to get in the garage. The zombies strength was more and enough to over power him.

All Cody could remember was him crying and balling as his father went into the horde of zombies. It would be the last memory of his father that he would have.

Lilly had no idea how to use a gun and wondered why he was giving it to her to use. It was still in it's protective carrier as well until it was opened up. Holding the pistol in her hand felt awkwardly strange, she had no idea how any criminal or cop could carry such a device. Maybe that was her doctor instinct inside, trying to save a life rather than take one.

As Jonathan told everyone to get in the attic, Lilly heard Cody's footsteps thump across the floorboards because he walked heavily. Quickly tossing the gun under her bed, she saw her son in the doorway and smiled. "Everything will be OK. I promise." Walking up to him she ran her fingers through his hair and kissed his lips, something she always did when her son was afraid. "It will be OK. I need to change, can't run around in my nightie can I?" She laughed, slowly pushing him in the back with her hand to make him go upstairs in to the attic.

Her husband would say around half an hour, maybe even forty-five minutes for Lilly to get ready in the mornings. However, this day, which was like no other, the mother got dressed in a matter of minutes, slipping a tank top over her bare chest after the nightie had come off. Below, over her clean fresh red panties she pulled on some jeans before slipping on some sneakers. Grabbing her back of packed things she almost forgot about the gun under the bed. Picking it up, she had no idea where to put it but remembered how they did it in the movies. Taking it towards her lower back, Lilly tucked it in to her jeans with her tank top then covering it. She then went and joined her family in to the attic.

As the hours had passed and the three sat below the window against the wall, Lilly wished they had done something up here. It looked old and depressing. She would rather it be new and colourful something to help brighten this miserable day.

When Jonathan hopped up from their grasps and told them it was time to leave, both Lilly and Cody looked at one another. "Remember, it will be OK!" Nodding her head at him she offered her hand to his. When he grabbed it she got up herself and lead her mid teen son towards the attic stairs. Lilly stayed behind her husband as they crept throughout the house. They could hear the noises the creatures made outside, where they in pain? Who knew, but the family's first thought was to get out of there. They couldn't be there stranded and trapped, it could have been even worse outside tomorrow morning and any chance of escape would be gone.

Heading in to the kitchen, a large grand father clock sat against the wall in between the room and the dining area. It's chime went of magnificently, the dull hums filling the entire house and sadly outside. Everyone stood still, nobody knew what attracted these things, they were only ever running after people. "I think things only happen when it sees you?" At that moment, Lilly's thoughts were confirmed wrong as a loud banging sound started against the back door. These two hands, black as shadows against the glass window were pelting and hoping to get inside. As the door broke off it's hinges, the sight of the woman covered in blood made Lilly and Cody scream. Hugging one another, she followed her husband's order and made her way to the door in to the garage. As they did this, more of the creatures came in through the opening, going towards the man.

Rushing to the car Lilly unlocked the doors and got in to the driver's seat. Starting the engine she yelled for her husband to quickly join her. "I'll be back, stay here!" She said to her son, running back in to the door opening of the kitchen. Lilly must of seen at least seven humans trying to attack her husband who was slowly being brought to the floor. Pulling the gun away from her back, the mother pulled the trigger but nothing happened. "Why isn't it working!" She yelled, bringing some of the attention to herself. Looking at the gun, she saw a switch and flicked it. With sensitive touching, the gun fired between the eyes of the nearest creature and the force of the weapon made Lilly stumble backwards and fall down the stairs. She hadn't braced herself for that, she had no idea the gun would kick back on her.

Getting back up, she tried to help her husband who was screaming. What she saw now made her nearly vomit and her eyes melt in to tears. Turning her back, she arrived at the car and lifted the garage door.

"SHIT!" She yelled whilst crying, her car was blocking the way out. "Get your things" Lilly yelled at her son through gasps of emotional pain.

Her son's constant asking of where their father was made her feel mad and angry. "Just get in my car!!" Running to the car in front, both were safe inside and drove off, leaving their house and her husband behind.

Three Months Later

Cody was outside looking at the lake of his family's lake house upstate. The boy remembered good things that his whole family had shared up here. A lot of cook outs and parties happened here. It was a happy place. Now in this new world it was only a place for hiding out. Hiding out from the creatures. Laying down on the grassy area he stared out into the water. This was a common thing for Cody. He didn't look the same as he did three months ago. Cody was a bit leaner, he had gain a bit more muscle. His face was colder and darker, he rarely smiled now, and if he did it was always a force one to keep his mother sane. Getting up he went into the woods. Grabbing an axe from the side of the house he started to cut down wood from trees, to be used for making fires to cook their food. Luckily because of the summer they wouldn't have to worry about staying home, but Cody had an extra supply of wood just in case they needed it for the winter.

Gathering some chunks of wood, he returned them to the side of the house piling them up with some other pieces, as he dropped the axe. During the months Cody had also become more of a man. He was doing more things for himself rather than relying on his mother. One being taking care of the wood. Dropping the axe to the ground, he looked at the entrance of the door. Biting his lips, he wondered what his mother was up too. Recently she had been sleeping in more and more. Suddenly a loud groan could be heard from his stomach. Grabbing his stomach, he was rather hungry. It had been hard over the three months, they had to ration what little food they had. Which meant he wasn't eating much. At times he would give his mother the larger portion. It was almost as if Cody was the parent looking after her.

Heading inside, he took a deep breath. "It's me mom" he said softly. They would always announce themselves. It was their way of saying who it was. If there was a sound, with no answer. The other was suppose to run out the window. Making his way through the large living room area, Cody saw his fathers gun on the table. Pausing, the memory of that gun had haunted him. If only his mother could have...no...it wasn't her fault. He loved her, and he would never blame her for this. Hearing his mothers voice he made his way into the bedroom. There were three bedrooms in the large house, but they decided to share one room together, and one bed. Cody was wearing a white shirt that was stain with dirt and mud. He had on black basket ball shorts, because of the heat it helped him keep warm. "Hey mom.." he said as he entered the room. Cody looked older though it had been three months, it was almost as if he had aged three years.

These three months had been hard on Lilly. Very hard.

The mother had barely eaten anything each day and was losing her figure slowly. She still looked divine and elegant but her curves were fading as was her will to live. Lilly wouldn't speak of her husband, every time her son mentioned him Lilly would walk away or just simply ignore him. Laying in bed like most days, she just wanted the floor to swallow her up and take her from this world, this horrible death ridden world. Everyone had gone crazy, eating and attacking one another.

Despite three months passing, they hadn't seen a single zombie in that time since they left the house. Where they were seemed to be free of the creatures...for now. When Cody entered the house and arrived in the bedroom, Lilly gave him a dirty look. "I have told you not to come in here with them dirty clothes and boots!" Yelling at him, she had certainly changed her attitude towards him. From her point of view, him growing in to a man meant he was going to leave her, just like her husband did. Taking his shirt off for him, she screwed it up in to a ball and threw it out of the room. "Get them boots out of here, look at the mess! I don't know why you can't do as you were told any more!" Leaning his side, Lilly went back to bed, she was wearing a pink t-shirt and white panties with red polka dots on.

"Sorry mom, I forgot.." Cody had long since gave up auguring with her. All it did was both stress on the two of them, more so her and he didn't want that for her. She had already lost some weight, and he didn't want her health to worsen any. Standing still he allowed her to take off his shirt. She would see his toned and muscular chest and abs, because of his low body fat it made him look a bit stronger than he actually was. Bending down he took off his boots and placed them outside of the door, taking off his shorts he was now in his black boxers. Forcing a small smile he looked at his broken down mother. "There, I'm sorry." he said faintly. Looking at her, he couldn't help being turned on by her in he white panties and pink shirt, the red polka dots seemed to do well in adding some more sex appeal to her.

Faintly he could remember the moaning that she made three months ago, when she was happy, when his father was alive. Sighing, he made his way to the bed half naked as he laid right down next to her. "We are running out of food supplies. We need to go to town.." he said dreadfully, the thought of them going to town was a horror for him. It might be their deaths if they were to run into those creatures, but they would die of hunger if they didn't. It was a lose lose situation. Which made Cody think, if they were going to die, why should he hold himself back? If there was a small chance they would be taken from each other he decided to at least have some fun. Slowly he rolled to his side as he placed his hand onto her stomach, moving it right underneath her shirt and onto her stomach as he started to talk. "You'll have to drive the car..it's low on gas..but we will be able to get to town and back with some gas left in." His hand moved further up her stomach as it soon reached her chest. Instantly he grabbed and squeezed onto her breast. Panting a little bit, he quickly got excited. "We will also make sure to get some gas...from a gas..station...okay..?" he said struggling with the last words as he started to fondle and massage her breast, Cody didn't care about her reaction any more. If she would hate it, and in turn hate him, so be it. His cock would quickly bulge out rather nicely in his boxers, as he became more and more turned on.

"It's OK, you just test my patience at times" she said, laying on her side and watching her son undress. It was strange now, the way their relationship had changed. With the way Lilly's mind was working, she was telling her son to hug her a lot, even if he was just in his boxers. She wanted him to hug her because she wanted to feel safe, just like she was with her husband. Lilly would have asked anyone to do it, but all she had was her son.

As he climbed in to the bed and spoke of going in to town, the mother turned and laid on her back before turning her head to face him. "No, we will stay here, we have plenty of food" she said, hoping the matter was closed. She hoped it was, seeing as she was the only one who could drive.

Turning her back on him, she closed her eyes and rested her head on her hands. Her butt cheeks were slightly exposed with the polka dot panties she wore. They were just eyeing her son in the face as she tried to sleep. "Hug me" she said, whispering almost, feeling his warm body press against hers. His hand came over her stomach like it had many times before but on this occasion he seemed to have other ideas.

Her eyes opened when she felt his hand slide up her slim stomach up to her chest before fondling with one of her bare breasts. "Ugh" she moaned in a whisper, pulling back her ass against his groin. Lilly knew it was wrong, but she had felt time stimulation from his hugging on previous occasions and it seemed he did to.

Reaching a hand back to her hips, she started to pull her panties down to her knees. "Talk dirty to me" she gasped, closing her eyes as his fingers moulded in to her breasts, making her nipples hard.

Cody let out a slight groan, his breathing continued to be a bit stressed. His mind was going blank, until she told him to talk dirty to her. What? Did he really hear her correctly? He could feel himself getting anxious maybe this was a dream he thought. Maybe it was because of his hunger. He soon realized that it was reality. It was quite obvious that this whole experience had took a huge toll on his mother. Where it made him stronger, it in turn made her weaker. As she pulled down her panties, he wasn't sure what she wanted. Slowly he was starting to feel a bit scared, his grip on her breast had soften a little bit. This is what he wanted, but it wasn't what he had expected. After a few minutes thinking of the situation in his head, he finally decided to just let go.

"I've always wanted you, always lusted after you, wanted to fuck you." he said almost breaking down as his hand on her breast found new strength squeezing onto it. His other hand managed to find it's way underneath her side and onto her leg as he pulled her onto him, his boner poking firmly on her ass. "Seeing you around here dressed like this, always made me horny. In the nights, I would masturbate..right next to you.." Cody started to come out with the truth about how he felt about her, it hit him all at once.

Using the hand that was on her leg, he roughly placed it right between her thighs as he forced them open. Sliding his hand up, he cupped and grabbed her crotch. Feeling her warm pussy lips against his fingers he let out a lustful moan into her neck. "I've always wanted to fill you up...I want to be inside of you.." he whispered into her ear, as his fingers parted her pussy lips and soon entered the hole. Cody was hugging and holding onto her as if he owned her now, he was doing what he wanted hoping that she would in turn feel the same way he did. "I'm done with being..sad and lonely..we can live here..together..just like this..side by side..let me fuck away all your pain.." he told her.

Lilly's mouth opened as she moaned a loud. His talking caused her to feel special, in a weird way. Using his spare hand, she noticed and felt him wrap it around her leg and lift it up to gain easier access to her pussy. Just by the back of the knee, her leg bent over his arm and rested in the air as his hand cupped at her crotch and touched her sensitive lips. As if touching her breasts weren't crossing any boundaries this certainly was and made Lilly feel a little awkward.

She was under his grasp, trapped in his arms as one hand was tugging on her breasts whilst the other took a hold of her groin area. He certainly had his father's passion for her body, wanting to use it to pleasure himself and the admittance of him masturbating to her whilst he laid by her side did something to turn her on.

As he fingered her pussy, Lilly moaned and breathed on to his face as she looked over her shoulder at him. Her hot breath hit his skin, caressing over his cheeks and nose whilst her parted lips went in to his. They didn't kiss one another though, instead teasing one another, although it was more her than him. She knew he would of loved to of made out with her but something was causing her to hold back.

Lilly was becoming weak at the knees as he played with her now moist pussy. She desperately wanted to say no now, to tell him to stop, but the pleasure forced her words down her throat and only let her gasp. "Ugh....st.....stop!" She said, taking his hands away from her now and standing up. Pulling her panties up her legs she looked back at him and walked off. "It isn't right" Lilly told him, not even looking around to eye him in the face.

Cody couldn't believe what had happened. In an instance he had what he dreamed of since this whole situation began, and in an instance it was gone. Getting up to a seated position, he thought about going have to her, hitting her. His anger swelled up inside of him. Quickly he ran after her as he grabbed her forcefully by the hand and pinned her against the wall in the hall way. Gazing at her lustfully, he wanted her badly. He thought about taking her there, with or without her consent. Pushing himself against her his boner pushed right into her crotch. His hands lower to her waist and onto her panties when he suddenly stopped. He couldn't believe what he was doing, was he actually thinking of raping her? No he couldn't do that. Softly his grip on her loosen as he backed up, right into the wall as he dropped himself onto the floor. "I think...I think..we should sleep in separate rooms for a little bit.." he said looking down on the ground.

"In any case.." he began, changing the conversation. "We need food, if we don't get more supplies we will die. You can stay here but i'm going. If you don't want to drive, or give me the car key..I'll just go by foot." Placing his hands to the side of him, he pushed himself up. "I'm going to get dress and get some supplies, for the trip." With that he was gone. Heading into the living room he grabbed some jeans and a grey colored shirt. Placing them over his body he took a deep breath. He was scared, but it needed to be done, in order for them to survive. As he fixed his clothes he gazed at the gun on the table. Picking it up, he placed it right in front of his jeans under his shirt. Grabbing the bag that he had came with he emptied the clothes along with his mothers bag. He would need something to carry the supplies in.

As he was about to leave the house he called out. "I'm going.." he said loud enough for her to hear. He wasn't sure if she would be up for the journey, especially with what just happened. Either way it had to be done. Making his way to where the car was parked, he removed some branches and leaves that was covering it. The car hadn't been used in three months. Now he would wait, wait and see if his mother would come, or let him go alone.

When her son went after her and pinned her against the wall, Lilly's eyes lit up widely in fear of the man he was becoming. Looking at his actions, going to her panties she thought he was going to do something unthinkable but his concious soon got the better of him and he left her side, slowly sitting on the floor. His mother stayed standing against the wall, the back of her hands pressed against the hard surface by her face where he had held them until they dropped.

She couldn't even be angry with him, Lilly felt nothing inside of her any more. It was a numbing feeling inside her chest, a dull pain which she had ever since her husband died.

Knowing he was right, after he had left her to get changed, she to did the same. Some of his belongings were still in the bedroom but afterwards they would be gone. Staying in separate rooms was a good idea from now on. She agreed.

After getting changed in to something more fitting for outside, Lilly joined her son by the car and saw how he had two bags, one of which was hers. She gathered he knew she would come but didn't acknowledge it. Opening the door to the vehicle the mother sat down in the seat and got herself comfortable. Placing her safety belt on Lilly waited for her son to do the same before driving along the dirt track and on to the smooth tarmac road.

The journey was silent, not one word was said between the two. They exchanged looks at one another though, each knowing what just happened to them back at the house was wrong, on both counts. Her letting him touch her and him being forceful.

Arriving in to town Lilly drove the car slowly before making it come to a halt. "We leave it here. We don't want to make to much noise" she said, turning the engine off and taking the keys out. Getting out of the car, she was shaking scared in case anything was going to come out and attack her. She had no weapon of her own to defend herself with.

As the two drove, Cody's eyes were searching for any signs of zombies. Luckily they weren't an which was good, it meant that their house was safe. The drive was rather awkward though. It seemed like his mother had nothing to say to him, and he had nothing to say to her. He still wanted her, that didn't change. Once they arrived he slowly got out of the car.

"Good idea.." he said as he looked around, the coast seemed pretty clear. Turning to his mother though he could see that she was scared. Sighing, he walked over to her. Though he was still mad, and suggested that they have separate rooms, he wanted to comfort her. Grabbing her waist he looked at her eyes. "We are going to be okay, we aren't going to die. So just take it easy okay?" forcing a smile for her he held onto her hands softly, moving a hand up to her chin, he moved his face in to give her a kiss on the mouth. Hugging her tightly, he released himself from her. "Just stay behind me, and don't make a sound. No more talking..we will use hand sighs okay.." Cody quickly was talking control of the situation. Grabbing her hand he pulled her so she could follow him. Slowly releasing it the two began their journey into the abandoned town.

Cody couldn't believe how much it had changed since three months. It was quite run down, the buildings were falling down and look like they would collapse at any second. Tie toeing across the streets, Cody kept close to the side walks. There were quite the amount of abandoned cars cars, but still no zombies. Looking out into the open, Cody saw a 24/7 store. A big smile appeared on his face. Turning back to his mother he patted her shoulder as he pointed at the store. He gave a sign that they were going to it.

As they got closer and closer to the store, suddenly a mild noise was heard. A brick had fallen down from one of the buildings right across the street from them. The sound was followed by a groaning sound, and then the zombie appeared. It was a old man, he had only one arm, and his jaw was missing.

Cody instantly looked in shock as he saw the zombie. Instantly the memory of his father fighting the zombies played back in his head, but he was more worry for his mother. Placing a hand over her mouth, he was sacred that she would make a noise. "He hasn't seen us" he said whispering low into her ear. At this point they were behind a car and out of view of the monster. "We will wait..okay? And stay quiet and calm. When he looks away...we will make a run for it to the store.." Slowly he removed his hand on her mouth and smile. Looking at the zombie through the window of the car, he watched as he turned and went down an alley, with that he grabbed his mothers hand and dashed to the store.

After she got out the car, the fresh breeze of the air combed through Lilly's brown hair making it fly off her shoulders. She was scared, of course she was, she wasn't built for such a world and had no idea how to cope in it. Part of her wished they were with other people, that way they could go on runs and she could just stay back.

The footsteps of her son made their way around the car over to her side. Lilly looked at her boy and for the first time saw what a real man he was becoming. It wasn't his growth or body which made her realise that, it was how he was acting. Feeling his hands go on to her waist she thought he was going to try and make another move but he tried to calm her just like she would him when he was younger. The peck on her soft pink lips did reassure her that she was safe in his company and she soon took his hand and followed his lead.

As they made their way through the town, the place seemed pretty empty for some reason. That should have been a good sign for Lilly, but it scared her more. Where were people? Everyone seemed to have disappeared. The pair hadn't seen another living human in the months since they stayed at the lake house.

When a brick fell both the mother and son looked around to find out where it came from and if it brought out any 'creatures' and it certainly did with a zombie coming out and roaming the street opposite them. As they crept and hid behind a car Lilly was starting to breath heavily and was having a panic attack.

Her mouth went in to the shape of an 'O' and she tried to calm herself down but her heart was racing. Thankfully, as she was told the zombie was leaving her attack seemed to dwindle in to nothing. Feeling her son's hand, Lilly went with him to the store.

As the two made it into the store, Cody let out a huge sigh of relief. Closing the doors behind them, they were now able to at least whispered some. "That was great!" Cody said placing his hands around her waist once more before offering a smile and releasing himself. The adrenaline seemed to pump him up somewhat. Dropping the bags on the floor, he looked over to his mother as he went down the aisles. "Bring back whatever you can find, fill up the bags as much as you can." he told her.

Luckily it seemed that this place had a lot of food. Whoever was here, probably panicked and left about three months ago when the attacks started, some of the shelves were messed up and fallen, but other than that it had quite the supplies of food. Grabbing some crackers and some other junk food he checked the expiration date. Most of the stuff were expired either this month or last. Sighing, he decided to bring them back either way. Placing some of them in his arm, he continued to walk down. Suddenly he approached the can food section. Cody remember once hearing his father talk about how tin food can last a very long time. The thought of his father made a feel a little empty. Grabbing a ton of cans, he brought them back to the bags as he filled it up going to make another round. Soon the bag was filled to the brim with can food. There was red beans, mixed veggies, tuna, spam, and different kinds of meat.

Sighing, he sat on the floor as he collected himself. "Mom?!" he said in a loud whispered. He wondered how she was doing. Getting back up after a few minutes, he went to look for some stuff and his mother as well. Looking around, Cody managed to find the soft drink section. There were many different drinks, from Coke to Snapple. Opening the fridge, he took one out as he drank it. The taste wasn't bad, it wasn't fresh, but it was still something. Grabbing a few more, he continued the search for his mother. "Mom!?"

Lilly was going through the isles and had a different plan to her son. Instead of keeping the bag in one place she kept it with her on her back as she looked for supplies. Figuring he would deal with the food section the mother went to something else they might need. The hardware section had flash lights, batteries and rope. After picking them all up, Lilly took a look further down and saw some things she could use as weapons. Claw hammers were hung up on the metal railings and she saw it as good as anything to help keep her safe whilst her son had the gun at his disposal.

Putting two hammers in to her bag with the rope and other belongings she walked around the corner and saw the checkout stations. Walking up to them she wanted to check to see if there was any cash. It may not have been needed now but Lilly wanted to be certain. The cash registers were all empty, not surprising, only a few coins were left and not even worth picking up.

Finding the manager's office, Lilly opened the door to find it was jammed. Pushing harder against it, it soon budged open to a loud groaning sound. "Aghhh!" She screamed, watching as this zombie got up from the floor to try and stretched it's arms out at her. Closing the door on it's arms, they ripped off with ease much to her disgust. Looking through her bag quickly the woman picked up one hammer and stuck the claw side in to its head with a loud cracking sound. Blood splattered on to her face as the zombie fell to the floor. Lilly was shaken up badly.

Cody was picking out drinks when he heard her scream. Dropping them, he quickly dashed towards the area he heard the noise from, he watched on in horror. "Mom..!" he said sliding onto the floor as he grabbed her. "Your face! You idiot!!" he yelled as he grabbed his shirt and started to wipe her face. "We don't know if this is cause by blood or what!! What happens if you turn into one of them!!" The truth was they would have to be bitten to actually turn into a zombie, but Cody didn't know. He was scared now. "Don't ever do that again..call me next time! Come to me!" he said cleaning her face with his shirt as it was now stained. "I can't lose you.." he whispered in a low tone.

Grabbing her he gave her a big firm hug. "Okay, we have enough supplies...let's just go home now.." Cody was shook up a little bit as well, all he wanted to do was go back home where it was safe. Grabbing his mothers hand he pulled her up to her feet. Pulling her they needed to leave this place quickly. "Let's just book it to the car okay?" Holding onto his bag, he threw it over his shoulder as they ran out of the store. Releasing her hand, he started to speed walk down the street. As they made it half way down the street, Cody suddenly heard a loud cry. Turning around, he saw his mother with the zombie that they saw before. The old man, instantly grabbed the mothers hand. Quickly Cody dropped his bag as he went for the gun in his jeans. Running towards his mother he pushed the zombie back, as he aimed the gun at it's head pulling the trigger and killing it. The blood splattered on both on them, but there wasn't any time to wondered if they would get infected or what.

"Mom...hurry..we need to get to the car..I don't know how many more are here..but they'll come after hearing the noise." Grabbing onto her hand once more, he didn't let go. Running to their car, there was one zombie there that was guarding it. Shooting his gun at it, the zombie fell right onto the trunk of the car. Opening the door, Cody threw his bag into it along with his mothers bag. "Come on...let's drive!!" he yelled.

A second scream from the mother erupted from her mouth as another zombie held her hand and tried pulling her towards itself. Fearing her life was over she tried yanking herself free only to be helped by her son who pushed it away and then shot it. Her body had never shaken so much in her life. Her muscles felt weak and tired due to the lack of food she had been eating but she managed to scramble to the car once the other one guarding it almost was killed. Turning the engine on the mother quickly reversed the car even if no one else could be seen. She hated this place and wanted to get out as soon as possible.

Driving at a high speed on the road, they were fairly safe by now and Lilly started to slow down before she made the car come to an abrupt halt. Parked up on the side of the road she turned to face her son with her face covered in blood from the second zombie. "We need a better plan next time. We can't keep getting lucky like that." Once she was done, she pulled out in to the road again and drove off before coming to a turning. Driving down the dirt track, she passed all these lake homes before coming to their own.

Cody breathe a sigh of relief, they made it. They survived that's all that matter. Placing a hand on her thigh he looked over to her with a smile. "We survived.." he told her, for once he was happy to be alive. It felt like he had conquered something. "You're right. We do need a plan. We will have a lot of time to think of one. These supplies should last us a month maybe too. By then we will have a game plan to go in and out. I wish we had got more supplies. There was so many things at that store." They had to leave so many supplies back.

Dave and his boys were sipping a beer outside. They were laughing and enjoying themselves at a rather small lake house that was a few miles away from Lily's and Cody's. The boys had recently discovered this place about a month ago, it seemed safe so they stayed. It was their hangout. The trio of Dave, Howard, and Tim, had belong to a small biker gang. They also owned their own little gun shop. Well, they used too. Once everything went to hell, they took as much as they could and hopped on their Harley's. Dave, the leader of the group, wore a black sleeveless leather jacket with a dark grey shirt and some black ripped up jeans. He was in his late thirties, and had a full stomach, his arms were large and board alone with his shoulders and hands. Holding onto his beer he laughed and chuckled with his friends. It seemed that they were having a good time. Which was sure, before they're lives were meaningless. They were still meaningless now, but now...they had free range. There was no rules, they could do what they wanted, they had power.

As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly Dave noticed a car as it was passing down. He was facing the highway, so he could see it who came and went. This was the first time since they been here, that they saw a car passed by. "Woah...it seems like we aren't the only ones around these neck of the woods.." Dave said in a southern accent as he got up from the beach chair that he was sitting on. "I saw someone, I think it was a woman.." Dave said licking his lips. It had been so long since any of them saw a woman. "Come on..bring out the bikes...I think it's time we go exploring.." Dave said with a laugh.

The men instantly ready their rather loud motorcycles as they began to drive off, unbeknown to them it would attract some unwanted visitors. By the time they had boarded their bikes Lily and Cody would be out of sight, but the high way was a one way, so it wouldn't be hard to find out where they were staying at.
