Jinx flinched at her touch. It was something that would have bothered a week ago, before all this craziness started, when she back home on the farm. In..hold..out..in..hold..out. She focused on her breathing, no longer caring if the nurse was in the room or not. All that mattered was this woman, this doctor was near her, and she wasn’t going to hurt her.

She lifted her head and looked at the doctor. Of all the things she could have said to her she simply uttered, “Thank you.” Though her appearance may not have shown it, Jinx felt calmer now. Her powers didn’t feel like a shaky leaf on a tree limb blowing in the breeze. She felt as stable as she could be. The knowledge that the doctor had done something to her brain was still there, and Jinx struggled to not become upset. Upset would be bad at this point. This new doctor was directly in front of her, touching her. There was no doubt what her powers would do to her.

Still breathing deeply, she knew the doctor was right. She could already hear the shuffling feet approaching them fast. They were coming, and if she lost control now, they would shoot to kill. Already they had seen what her powers could do. They wouldn’t wait to see if she would reign them in. Still remaining calm was something she simply could not do. Leaning forward, she rested her forehead against the doctor’s shoulder and began to cry. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean..to kill her. I couldn’t..help it. Don’t let them hurt me. Please,” she pleaded as her body shook with her sobs. “I’ll be..a good girl. I promise.”

It was working. Jinx was calming down, the shaking stilling as her breath slowed. But it was only temporary. The sound of boots filled the hall outside and Jinx could hear them too. Mack was surprised when the girl leaned on her shoulder, starting to mumble. Mack had to remind herself this girl was still dangerous, otherwise she'd drop her guard completely in worry for the poor thing.

When the guards arrived with the nurse they quickly took in the sight, all of them sending odd looks toward Mackenzie. Most of them wouldn't even know who she was yet. And they made that clear when one demanded, "Who the hell are you and why is the patient out of her tank?"

Her brow furrowed as she cocked her head at him, showing these men she wasn't a woman to be tempered with. She might be a nice person, but she didn't take people's shit.

"I'm Dr. Mackenzie Danvers to you," she snapped, holding the girl, "a new addition to Department X. Which means I don't report to you, in fact you report to me. I let this girl out to study her. As per my job, it does entail studying the patients, or else why are we here?"

"Sorry ma'am," he balked a littler, stepping back into the group of guards, "we were warned that an isolation tank was opened. This patient is highly dangerous and-"

"Does she look dangerous?" Mack asked with a cold tone, her arm snaking around Jinxs shoulders to comfort the girl, "from what she has told me, she has had recent brain surgery that is making her powers hard to control. Were you aware of that?"

"Dr. Danvers we cannot trust the word of a patient. If you could please stand and step away from the patient and show us your papers..."

Now Mack was getting annoyed, "how about trusting the word of the nurse who looked her over. She has a hole in her head, does she not?" The nurse nodded, looking a little scared, "and as for my papers, you can march over to Candice Whitehorns office and ask for them. You can tell her how you refused to listen to your superiors when they asked you to STAND DOWN. This girl is in pain and scared. You are not helping this situation."

She understood she was dangerous, but damn were these guards not helping the situation.

The guards looked confused now, unsure whether to follow orders or deny them. Mack decided to nail this coffin shut, rising to her feet and pulling Jinx with her, "So since you cannot help me here I will help myself. As a doctor I have the right to release a patient and move her back to her cell..."

She had no idea if she could actually do that or not, so she hoped her bluff was correct, "...now I am going to take Jinx here to my office to calm her down and do my job. And then I will have two guards escort her to her cell. Two. Not six. If I find six, I'll report all of you to The Head of Staff."

The guards fell silent, parting so she could pull Jinx towards the door. She called to the nurse to follow and the three of them stepped out, making their way towards her new office. As they walked Mackenzie asked the nurse to bring lunch for Mack and Jinx and also to put in a time to get Jinx to a shower or bath, whatever they had here. Mackenzie wasn't sure, but she knew Jinx had grim covering her, and a shower might help her feel less uncomfortable. The nurse mentioned taking her to the showers first before Mackenzie took her to her office. Thinking it over she agreed and they switched directions. The nurse led them to the shower room where a female guard was on watch inside. These showers were small and undecorative, with nothing but a soap and shampoo dispenser under each shower head. Mackenzie left Jinx in the hands of the nurse and guard to clean her up, waiting outside as she listened for any trouble.

[Arriving from Cell Block C – post #349]

"Natalya told me...things…She asked me to relay them to you, she said you could help. Yesterday Dr. Arellano started...touching her, during her exam. She begged and pleaded but he ignored and he started to...rape...her. He didn't get far, due to your interference luckily but because of it her brain is stuck. She couldn't explain it, but I think I can. Werewolves mate once for life, like wolves. The first to take their virginity is the one they are loyal to for life, until that person dies or leaves them. A wolf will never leave their partner. He started to claim her then stopped, putting her in limbo. It might be why she is in such pain. Her brain can't handle being on that edge. And there was more. She spoke of a raven, she tried to explain this raven person had some important meaning to her. She tried, at least. I think her heart longs for this person, and her brain is trying to tell her to be with Dr. Arellano. It is a cruel cruel thing to leave her in, and the beatings combined with this pain has driven her to this. I was asked to tell you. She trusts you like she trusts me. And she needs people like us right now, to keep her alive."

She thought the ride up to Block B would be the longest elevator ride ever that she would have to experience. Silence would have been preferable, though the nurse who jumped in with her was quick to disprove this assumption. Rupi did not turn to look or acknowledge the man as he spoke, though she heard every word. He confirmed her worst fears that Rufio Arellano was behind this somehow. She knew the man took liberties with some patients, but with Natalya the effect was more profound than just a traumatizing experience. It changed and altered the wolf, in a dangerous way. But what angered Rupi more was that Rufio had inadvertently stolen the woman from her and he didn’t even know it. Trust Rufio to take something so special and trample it down recklessly.

The elevator doors slid open on Block B and Rupi stepped forward, though she turned to block the threshold as she turned to face Nathan. “That is a serious allegation to accuse a doctor of rape, but I am inclined to believe you and the patient even if there is no direct evidence. Certainly what is happening to her should be proof enough, especially given Dr. Arellano’s repute. We cannot leave the patient alone then while this affliction racks her brain. After her surgery is complete, you will move her to my offices where I will personally oversee her recovery and try to delve more into this mating aspect you described. Perhaps I can unfreeze her brain through some other method.” Rupi stated, showing her appreciation for the nurse’s thoughts by sharing her own plans with him. She felt like she could trust this person, who seemed sympathetic to the plight of the patients.

“I will ensure she is untouched by any other personnel after this. Taking liberties with patients is firmly against company regulations and I will aggressively enforce this policy if need be. As for this…raven of hers, we should endeavor to locate this man or woman. Perhaps they can help us in getting to understand this patient and what makes her tick. I thank you for your good work, Nathan. I will see that you are well compensated for your efforts.” Rupi said, offering up a smile before she turned and moved down the corridor to the Institution hospital. She had no compunctions about lying to Nathan about her own motives and promises. Rupi soon reached the hospital, where she would discover that Natalya had already been rushed into surgery, behind closed doors where the surgeons and nurses would be labouring to save her. There was nothing more Rupi could do except wait and pray that the blonde made a full recovery. She took a seat in the lobby of the small department and settled in for the long wait.

And once Natalya was healed, then she would focus on setting the woman’s brain straight. Rufio didn’t get far. I can’t give him that chance again. I need to settle this issue once and for all.

Emergency Room

There was no time wasted as she was brought into the surgery room, and panic set into her further, seeing the various equipment around her, the smell of blood reeking in here. Was she going to die? Would they kill her in here? She tried to panic, but the needle in her arm was pumping some strange fluid into her, making her sleeping and her limbs numb. She could feel herself dozing off, struggling to stay awake through the pain. But it was no use. Darkness blanketed her, pulling her under swiftly.

Whether it had been minutes or hours, Natalya had no idea how long time had passed when she woke. But immediately she knew she wasn't in her cell. The smell of blood was everywhere, and she could smell hers among others. God, she was still in that room. But the pain had stopped. No...no it was still there, but dulled, as if someone had put a barrier around it, holding it back. All she had to do was not think about anything that could cause those awful migraines. Clarity struck her finally, able to think without all the pain. What that man had done to her, what she had done to those people. Pushing...push her raven away. The image brought a painful emotion up but she quickly banished it, feeling the barrier in her head bending, trying to hold the pain back.

She needed to focus on something, anything. But she was strapped down, and all she could see were bloody instruments on a small platter beside the bed she lay on, and the cold white ceiling above her. All she could smell was blood. But she could hear something. Muffled voices on the other side of the door, speaking in quiet tones, and she caught her name, not once but twice. Their English words meant nothing to her, but she listened nevertheless, focusing on the sounds over the pain swelling in her head and threatening to break through.

"...It was successful," one surgeon spoke up, "It was a ruptured aneurysm after all. We were able to stop the bleeding and stitch it up, put we can't help but wonder how it happened. A single hit on the head isn't enough to cause and rupture an aneurysm. She should remain monitored for the next bit, to see what physiological stresses are being put on the brain. And she will need to stay in a calm environment, or the threat of it rupturing again is high. I suggest no more doctor visits for the day, and limited exposure to people. One or two at most."

"Thank you for your help," It was Nathan's voice, although his words were English, "I was instructed by Dr. Vera to transport her once she is ready and able to be moved. She can heal outside the medical lab, yes?"

"She should be fine, yes. We will wheel her out, and leave her to you then nurse."

The door opened and Natalya closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of them moving about, and suddenly she was moving, her entire bed rolling to the door. Bright light played on her eyelids and she heard Nathan say something else, but she missed it. More movement, more rolling as she tried to focus on not opening her eyes or letting the pain in. Just relaxing. Naty didn't open her eyes till they pushed through another door and Nathan sighed, followed by the sounds of heels clicking.

"Your awake," his switched to Russian, coming into her view, "How's your head?"

"Better Nathan, thank you," she whispered, her voice hoarse from all the screaming form earlier, "I am sore though."

"That's normal. Once we get some food and water into you, it will help. They had to operate on your brain Natalya. You had a very bad rupture, which is when your brain is bleeding. It is fixed, but you need to go slow. I have someone here to see you now."

She looked around, realizing she was in a strange room she had never seen before. The walls weren't white washed and it didn't feel like a cage in here. And all she could smell was...her raven.

The surgery took hours. Rupi had planned to wait, but her new role as Head of Staff prevented her from being a constant watch. Within moments, issues began to assail her. Emails arrived in droves, doctors and guards needed permissions, reports had to be signed off on. Rupi knew she could not ignore them all and show favoritism, lest she be out of her position faster than Funer was. With a sigh and a silent prayer, she retreated to her office, where she could work and perhaps keep her mind distracted from Natalya. It was difficult to do so, but she managed, her face set in a firm expression as her fingers danced on the keyboard. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she received word that the surgery had been a success.

She leaned back in her chair, rubbing her brow. Her heart still beat with nervousness and doubt. What was to stop Natalya from relapsing again? The issue was clearly embedded in her mind and no amount of surgery or tinkering with her brain would fix it. Not unless they utterly destroyed who Natalya was, turning her into a vegetable. Rupi would not allow it. She felt an even greater pang of nervousness when she received word Natalya was being brought to her office at that very moment. Would Nathan believe she was sincere in wanting to oversee the wolf’s recovery? Surely he would, but Rupi feared the man might see through her. Whenever it came down to Natalya, Rupi always had doubts. Never with anything or anyone else. Why was she so vulnerable and full of anxiety when it came to the woman?

Soon they arrived and Rupi opened the door for them. “Set her on the couch. No need to strap her down. I will sit next to her and observe as I do my work.” Rupi instructed them, pointing to her therapist couch for patients. She had a translator handy, which she would attach the moment the nurse was done. She watched silently as Natalya was laid down, before offering Nathan a smile and walking with him to the door. “You and I will talk later. There is a Head Nurse position available on Block A that I’m sure you’ll be interested in.” She said in a promising tone, squeezing the man’s shoulder before she closed the door behind him. Then she turned and faced Natalya…locking the door ominously.

She put the translator in her ear and moved towards Natalya, kneeling by the couch. “Shh.” She told the woman, moving to fit her with a translator as well. “Can you hear me? How do you feel, beautiful?” She asked the woman, the words being translated into Russian.

Rupi’s Pretty Office

The straps were undone and then she was lifted, so gently and effortlessly that she barely realized Nathan was doing it until she lifted her head to see him. As he placed her gently down she was surprised not to feel cold concrete underneath her, but instead something soft and almost warm, comforting her sore body. She turned her head, staring at the odd object they had placed her on. She had seen these before, in one of the few times she had ventured into a Russian town, wanting to see how they lived. It was a pup's curiousity at the time that she had, and it wore off eventually, leaving Natalya to return to the woods with her family, the family she now had lost. Tears threatened to well up in her eyes at the mere thought of it, all those memories brought up just by this single thing...this couch.

Those memories were dashed away though when she heard one of the most beautiful sounds to her ears. Rupi was here. She gritted her teeth as the pain rose, threatening against that barrier. It was coming, and she knew it. Perhaps it would kill her this time. But she could not help it, the wolf's heart simply yearned for the beautiful caramel-skinned doctor. And now that she could think clearly she knew that the fox had tried to steal Naty away from her raven, and he was succeeding. Her body belonged to him...in partial.

Opening her mouth to say hello she was shushed by Dr. Vera as she stepped forward, kneeling beside the healing wolf and fitting a translator in. Natalya understood what it was by now, and relief washed over her, knowing she could finally speak to the one person who would listen and understand.

"I can hear you," she started, her voice trembling at the last word as her bottom lip began to quiver and tear stung her eyes, unable to keep it in any longer, "He hurt me raven! You warned me, but I had no idea he would...he would..."

She looked away, trying to hide the fact she was about to cry. She felt defiled and disgraced over the one pure thing in her body, now muddied by his hands. When she looked back the tears were gone but the pain was still there. She reached out, touching Rupi's arm before wincing, the pain growing stronger, threatening to break through. She was going against him, going against her nature now. But the human within her wanted Rupi, and a part of the wolf did too. And she wanted to fight for that, not let it die.

"I didn't want you to leave yesterday," her voice was still hoarse from screaming, but quiet now too, "I didn't mean what I said. what I...did. I wanted to tell you what he had done but it hurt. Everything hurt...so much. It still...does. I feel...I feel like I might never escape. I...I hate this."

She closed her eyes, letting herself calm down before she pushed it too far. Just lying there, vaguely aware she was naked but covered under a thin blanket from the stretcher, she listened to Rupi's heart beat, letting it calm the storm that had begun to build up. Keeping her eyes closed she reached out with a tentative hand and touched her raven's cheek, tears streaking down her face.

"I had wanted it to be you."

There was no rejection this time. No growl of anger or snarl of hostility towards Rupi. When Natalya laid her eyes upon them, the doctor saw only a deep affection and longing. This was the Natalya she knew and loved, the woman she had thought destroyed, now returned to the surface. But for how long? The pain was in her head, of a mental origin, one that could easily swing to the opposing end if the right stimulus struck her. And Rupi knew she herself was one such factor, a danger and a threat to Natalya despite her own overwhelming passion for her. She did not want to hurt the blonde anymore. But in order to free her from the hell she had been thrust upon, Rupi had to do some questionable things.

Rupi raised her hands gently, cupping Natalya’s face as her grey eyes stared longingly into the eyes of the other. She let the other woman touch her if she wished, anywhere she liked, though there was something she had to do first. “Shh, do not apologize. It was me who did wrong. I am sorry, Natalya.” She said at first. “I am sorry I could not have been there to protect you from him. I should have been there longer, but I could not. I failed you and I am sorry. I can only hope you can forgive me, my wolf.” Rupi said, lowering her gaze in repentance towards Natalya. She needed to know she could be forgiven before she could proceed, for Natalya’s desire of belonging to Rupi was everything her heart had dreamed of since first meeting her, awakening a desire Rupinder Vera had long since thought dead within her.

Leaning forward, Rupi gently pressed her lips to Natalya, leaning over her. Her rosy lips pressed against the blonde woman’s pinker set, a firm conjoining before Rupi pulled back.

“I know how you can escape the pain, to leave the hurt and agony behind. But…but you might not like it.” Rupi said slowly, moving to stand up. Slowly, she began to remove her lab coat, revealing her typical pencil skirt and baggy blouse that she wore beneath, in stark colours of white and grey. She set it aside, next to a drawer that held a certain toy that Nysa had once introduced in their brief time together. Rupi found herself ironically thanking the siren in her mind, despite how distracting and foolish she could be. “Natalya, my wolf…I am going to make you mine.” Rupi declared abruptly, standing next to the couch as she stared down at the other woman. She reached to the bottom hem of her blouse and pulled it over her head, revealing her smooth caramel flesh, with her toned abdomen and ample chest held aloft by a tight black bra.

She put her hand to the top of the blanket and whipped it right off, her eyes following it to Natalya’s feet, absorbing everything.

She was taking command of them. The guards seemed dazed, but in the end, they were following her orders. They had tried to argue her down, but this woman, this doctor, clearly wasn’t budging. Jinx held on to her like the life line she knew she was. If the doctor released her, then she knew the guards would swoop in and force her back inside the tank. She already felt as though she was so much so in the dark here. The tank would not help that at all.

The guards backed down, and she brought her to her feet. Jinx wanted to run past them, but any sudden movements would probably incur swift action from them. So against her instincts, she walked slowly with the doctor, still clinging to her. “Thank you,” she whispered, not wanting the guards to hear. She knew the doctor could have easily turned her over to them. She could have even lied, making sure they would treat her with brute force. No. She had been….kind. ‘It’s a trick,’ she thought. ‘No. Not everyone is bad. They can’t all be bad here.’

The sight of the showers was a welcomed one. Jinx couldn’t wait to get the remains of the ISO tank off of her. The guard did not smile, nor did she speak. It was unsettling and yet welcomed. Inside the showers there was no one else. That too was equally unsettling and welcomed. She peeled her clothing from her body, careful as she took her top off. ‘A hole in my head,’ she wondered. ‘Why? What did he do?’ Tentatively her fingers reached for her head, feeling the bald spot where her hair had been shaved. Tears pricked her eyes. ‘These..these monsters. How could they do this to me?’ The knobs on the showers, all of them, turned on. The showers all came to life. ‘No! Not again. Get it under control. Remember. In..hold..out..in..hold..out.’ She repeated the process until the water turned off. Her emotions. Her powers were so connected to her emotions. When she lost control, she truly lost control.

After a while, she emerged. Her body was clean, smelling of flowers. “Thank you,” she mumbled again, putting on fresh clothes. She wasn’t sure if the doctor or nurse got them. Either way, she was grateful. She pulled her hair from her top and allowed it to cascade down her back. “Could I get..I’m sorry,” she stopped. “But I was wondering..could I..get..maybe..if it’s not too much trouble..a hairbrush maybe? My hair is so long..and I hate it to have tangles. My hair,” she said, forcing a smile as her fingers brushed over the bald spot. “Why? Why did he do it?”

Her tears dried as Rupi cupped her face and apologized, surprising her by the honest tones in her voice. The - her - raven was truly sorry. She winced as the pain pushed a little harder, ready to erupt. That was when Dr. Vera leaned over and kissed her, reminding the wolf of how soft and luscious her lips were, how desperate she wished to crave them. Her brain yelled at her to remain loyal and the pain grew stronger, the barrier barely fending it off now. As Rupi rose and stripped of her jacket, Natalya's eyes widened, taking in every second as the doctor before her pulled her shirt off, her eyes hungrily drinking in every inch of her caramel skin, letting a low moan rise in her throat. It was halfway out her mouth when Rupi ripped the blankets off, revealing her naked body, and the moan became a whimper of pain.

"I...I... she gripped her head, the barrier cracking within her head, the pain beginning to drip back in as a dull headache set in, "I...want this...but...I can't...control...myself."

She choked out each word, her body fighting itself as her eyes remained glued to her raven's face, trying to remain steady as the storm within her flooded back in, "Do not...stop...my raven. Save...me...from this...ow...hell."

Mackenzie heard her questions, but she had no answers as to why another doctor who drill into her head. Instead she ushered the girl back into the staff corridor, taking her straight to her office where she held open the door for Jinx, allowing her in first before she followed. The nurse scurried away, and on Mackenzie's orders was told to grab two guards to station themselves at the door, neither entering or interfering unless she yelled for them. Knowing the nurse would see to that, Mack focused on settling the girl into the uncomfortable couches and grabbing a hairbrush from her own suitcase.

"Luckily I haven't packed yet. And please don't mind the hair," she joked, lifting the brush. But instead of handing it to Jinx she instead walked around the back of the couch and started brushing out the hair slowly, intent in her work, "I have a younger sister, you see. She always had long hair too, and it always knotted. Our mother use to brush it daily, but there were times my sister would get so sad or upset. Brushing her hair always relaxed her. Maybe it will for you too."

She continued to brush the hair, getting every knot out until lunch arrived on two plates via the same nurse. They weren't anything fancy, but they would do. Putting the brush away, Mackenzie braided Jinx's long hair before sitting ad unwrapping her food, looking at what they had to eat, "How was that Jinx? Any calmer? Are you ready to talk about what happened?"

She offered no answers, only an open door. Jinx took it. She was learning fast in this place to not take anything that appeared good for granted. A doctor who seemed kind holding open a door was certainly appeared good. Of course anything, or anyone, compared to the man who had put her through what she had been through was good.

Entering the office she was of course on edge as she looked around. The last time she followed a doctor into a room was of course the source of her inability to control her power now. The office seemed….unimposing. Looks can be deceiving though. She knew that, and in this place it was always a good idea to have your eyes wide open. She spoke, drawing her attention back to the unconventional doctor. Jinx actually smiled looking at her as she fished the hairbrush from her bag. As soon as she was heading back towards her though, her gaze averted, and she settled further into the couch she had taken a seat on. The only fear she held as the doctor began to brush her hair was the hole in her head of course. The tangles didn’t hurt at all. “You’ve got the touch,” she told her. “My mom would brush my hair, and I’d tell her it didn’t hurt. She always said, ‘that’s because I’ve got the touch.’ You’ve got it too.” It was nice to think about her mother and be able to talk about her with someone. That, combined with her hair being brushed, did calm her down further.

The food arrived, and the smell made her aware of just how hungry she was. The doctor unwrapped the food, and Jinx’s eyes widened. It looked so delicious. She nodded to the question. “It was yesterday. This man, a very nice man, came to get me. He took me to another doctor’s office. They wanted to do a test, a MRI of my brain. I cooperated. They wanted me to use my powers while I was in the machine. So I did. It was all so fun. Then the other doctor came to get me. He was taking me back to my room, or so I thought. He didn’t. He took me in this other room.” She balled her hands into fists, clenching so tight her knuckles began to turn white. Her gaze was fixed on the food. “I remember something coming over my eyes. He said something to me, and then,” she shook her head. “I remember being strapped down in this chair. I couldn’t move. My head was strapped so I couldn’t turn it. There was something wet on my head. Then there was,” she closed her eyes, remembering it clearly, “a prick. The next thing I felt was pain. Incredible pain. My whole head vibrated. I couldn’t move at all. There was heat and a stabbing feeling, like another needle, but it was different than a shot. I can’t explain it.” Tears began to roll down her cheeks. “The next thing I remember is feeling this feeling that was….so bad…..I wanted to….die. I hurt….over. “ Her food began to move on the tray, shaking as if an earthquake was happening. “I don’t remember much after that until the guard showed up in my cell. She had talked to me already, helping me. She was nice to me. I saw her….go flying into the wall. I tried to stop it….but I couldn’t. I told her I couldn’t. No matter how hard….I tried to stop it….I couldn’t….and she was….crushed. Her bones….broke….and there was….blood. She was just….dead….and I couldn’t stop it. A can landed in my cell….and there was this gas. That’s all I remember until….I saw you.” Jinx opened her eyes, quickly wiping away her tears. She noticed the food shaking. “No. Not again. In….hold…..out. In….hold….out.” The food began to steady, and Jinx relaxed once more. “I have to learn how to control it over again. I won’t hurt anyone else ever again.”

The food was decent enough. Nothing special, a hot roast beef sandwich and vegetables, but it was probably better than some of the food she was expecting she'd see here. She ignored her food though, grabbing her laptop instead and plopping herself on the other couch, tucking her feet under her. Not professional at all, but Mack didn't want that stigma associated with her. She wasn't a lab coat drone.

Opening a word document she wrote everything Jinx said, note for note. She suspected of another doctor had done it he probably had clearance and Mack couldn't do anything, but maybe if the girl saw her writing it would ease her frustrations. And as far as Mackenzie knew, she chose her own patients. And Jinx was quickly growing on her. Perhaps it was how she reminded her of her little sister, or maybe it was the excitement of meeting her first nonhuman, mixed in with the adrenaline and fear of throwing caution to the wind. She could have died...but she didn't.

When Jinx finished, Macks eyes moved to the food, "you better eat before you start a food fight there. I think I can help you Jinx. I don't have sway to reprimand a doctor, and I'm sure he's not the only creep around. I mean I'm sure you've guessed it by now that this place isn't nice to those they lock up. But I'm new, and judging by your file I just pulled up, so are you. So here's what I can do..."

She put her laptop down and leaned forward, "You and me, we can help each other. I'm here to study, not to poke or prode. And you need to learn to control. If I help you, then you'll help me learn more about your powers, alright? And of course I'll always be here to talk. I'm not a snob like I'm sure plenty of these guys are. And by working well with me, you'll look better to other staff here too. There's a program here...hold on."

She pulled up the promotion program she had been reading the night before in the airport waiting for her flight, "a patient that excels in cooperation and aiding staff can and will be promoted up a level, to the highest level of Block A. Those in C work to get to Block B, and those in B work for A. In A, patients are given the most priveledges, rewarding them for their cooperation. "

She set the laptop to the side once more, grabbing her warm sandwich, "so we help each other, and in turn it'll help you get to this Block A. Fair deal?"

It all sounded too good to be true. Ignoring her food, she reached for the computer, wanting to read the program, taking it from the doctor. Her eyes widened as she read about the privileges they were allowed. She could shower on her own, without a guard watching her every move. There were jobs! She could work in the kitchen or a….She held her breath, her smile growing. “A library? They have a library there? I could go and read. Oh I love to read. There’s always something new to learn and read about. “ She continued to scan over the information, even seeing a picture of the cells. “I’m afraid to believe it’s really that good. If I get my hopes up, and it’s not everything this says it is, then I’ll be so disappointed.”

She handed the laptop back to the doctor, having read every single word in no time. “But it’s still something to hope for, and that’s worth it to me. As long as there is breath in my lungs, there is hope. I hope for a better place, and that paper says it is here. If working with you will get me there, and help me gain control again, then I’m in,” she told her, reaching her hand over, offering it for a handshake, only to have her sandwich fly up and land in her hand instead. “Oh. Guess I am hungry after all,” she told her, giggling.

Name: Rupinder "Rupi" Vera
Location: Cell Block B.
Tag: Natalya.

Pain began to rack Natalya’s body again, visible to Rupi’s eyes. She knew it would happen, for in order to fully bind the wolf to herself, Rupi had to break the previous hold that Rufio had inadvertently set upon her. “I won’t stop.” She told the other woman after she kissed her again, before leaning down to place another short peck on Natalya’s lips. “Be brave. It’ll hurt, but it’ll get better. Just relax. Focus on my voice…and face…” Rupi cooed to her, on her knees next to the couch, bent over Natalya’s head as she kissed, while placing her hand upon the blonde’s breast and giving it a gentle massage. After sharing a few more sensual kisses, Rupi smiled and detached, moving to stand.

“I have a toy I think you’ll like.” Rupi told her, pressing a finger to Natalya’s lips to still her for a moment as Rupi strode to her desk, hands moving behind her back. She undid the fastening that held her bra, sweeping it off and revealing her toned back to Natalya as she opened the bottom drawer on a desk. Thank you, Nysa, she thought to herself, as she pulled out a strap on. She spun around, revealing her bare breasts and torso to Natalya as she shoved her the toy, black straps and a brightly coloured phallus, long but not too thick. She set it down on the table, before her hands went to the front of her skirt. Smiling at Natalya with her eyes locked on her, Rupi slowly removed her skirt and soon stood fully naked. Her hips were wide, but a small diamond shaped gap between them, just below her own sweet womanhood.

Slowly, Rupi lifted her heel covered feet and slipped her legs through the straps of the dildo, dragging it up her body until it was positioned before her sex. There was a small jutting at the rear of the phallus that entered into Rupi’s sex, giving a short moan as she thrust it into herself. When the fun began, at least she would get some stimulus as well. After tightening the straps to either side of her caramel hips, Rupi strode back to the couch and mounted, moving between Natalya’s legs and thighs, leaning down over her. Rupi’s breasts came to tickle Natalya’s, the stiff buds rubbing together as she lay upon the other woman. Her lips came back to Natalya’s and as the phallus rubbed against Natalya’s sex, Rupi began to passionately make out with her wolf.

Now nothing would stop them.

Mackenzie wasn't perturbed when Jinx took the laptop. The girl was curious, nothing more. Perhaps another doctor would have beat her or punished her, but Mack simply watched, noting the concentrated look on her face. Before long the laptop was handed right back and she set it next to her hip on the couch, watching the food fly into the girls hands.

"You should eat," she exclaimed, having already polished off her own sandwich, "I'll see about getting you back to your cell, and making up a schedule to see you. As you can see I haven't even decorated the office yet. By tomorrow this room will look much different."

They are then, sitting in comfortable silence until the food was gone. Then Mackenzie got up and strolled to her desk, grabbing a notepad and pen. Striding back she handed both to Jinx then sat opposite of her, getting comfortable once more.

"I want you to draw me something," she explained, "the first thing that comes to mind when I say a word. I want you to focus on it, alright? And practise your breathing. There is no time limit of how long it takes, as I have paperwork to do."

She pulled her laptop into her lap, knowing she still had plenty of emails, and this way Jinx wouldn't be shipped back to a cell right away.

"Okay first word is...safety."

Rupi’s Pretty Office
Tags: Raven

A part of her wanted to deny all of this but Natalya wouldn't let it. This woman was everything Naty wanted and he had tried to steal it away. She prayed her Raven would fix her. As Rupi leaned over and kissed her again she felt the woman's hands gently cup her breast, enticing a soft whimpering moan from Naty lips. Inside the storm had begun to brew, her emotions inflicting each other. i want this. No, no I don't. But I do. No...yes...NO...YES...

It was hard to focus through it, wanting to touch Rupi back but already the doctor was pulling away, to retrieve something. Her bra slipped off and Natys mouth opened, her eyes trying to peer around her flawless back. Then the doctor turned and placed something on the table, making Naty rear back in horror.

"You put a cock on a rope?"she asked horrified, neither knowing what a sex toy was or how they were used. To her, Rupi had just set down a mans penis, cut off and tied up, "Why would I want that Raven?!"

Her horror was only momentarily distracted as Rupi dropped her skirt, again sucking the breath from Natys lung. This woman, this Raven...was gorgeous.

"Your beautiful," she spoke breathlessly, the pain in her head worsening even more as she felt a desire to touch her. That desire was squashed a little as she looked toward the thing on the table grimacing at it. But as Rupi picked it up and wiggled into it Natalya grew more confused.

"You where their cocks?" she asked, sounding like a curious pup as she tried and failed to sit up, her head pounding, all that pain smacking into the barriers, pushing at it hard.

Her Raven wasted no time on crawling on top of the wolf, forcing her legs open a bit as she rubbed the...thing...against Natys sex. She squirmed, trying to pull away from it as she begged for answers between kisses, needing to understand why Rupi would use such a terrifying thing.

She was right. Food was a good idea, and Jinx was starving. The roast beef smelled good, and it was equally as delicious. Jinx went through her food faster than she could ever remember finishing a meal. A soft burp after she was finished had her blushing and covering her mouth. “Excuse me,” she said, embarrassed.

It brought her some relief that Dr. Danvers wanted to see her. She found some comfort in her office, but it wasn’t just her office that eased her mind. It was her. Dr. Danvers had a nature about her that Jinx felt she could trust. Everything about this place screamed distrust, but this doctor didn’t belong her. She stood out. All she did was nod though, smiling with approval.

She watched her get up and get the pad. As she hands it to her, Jinx can’t help but be surprised she’s giving her something with a point. Of course she wouldn’t use it to hurt anyone. Then again, she wouldn’t need it to hurt anyone. “Draw? I’m not good at it, but….I’ll try.”

‘Safety.’ Right away her mind drifted back to home. She could see her house. Her hand began to move, sketching out the big farmhouse. Jinx tried to draw the tree in the front yard that was home to her swing. Oh how she loved to go outside and swing for hours on end. The wind blowing in her face while she flew higher and higher, swinging on the branch. That was a feeling that made her feel safe. The walls of her home made her feel safe. The love of her family made her feel safe. It wasn’t a masterpiece by any means, but it was clear what she was trying to convey. “It’s home,” she told her, holding it up. “That’s my swing back home. I’ve always felt safe there. You know? Like nobody or nothing bad can get me there. It’s where I belong. Do you have a home Dr. Danvers?”

Mackenzie got through two emails by the time Jinx had finished. She glanced at the photo, although she didn't really care what it looked like as much as what was drawn and what it meant to the girl. And most importantly how it made her feel. She wasn't a therapist, trying to gauge emotions and reactions. But in order to study Jinx she needed to understand the girl and how she reacted to things. This girl loved the feeling of home, of her family and the small things like a swing that held memories. That told Mack she was a sweet young thing, which she alreadu knew, but more importantly that she strove when the place around her felt like her own.

"I did," she shrugged, thinking to the home she'd given up to be here, "It's in the past now. Ready for your next word. This one is...Bliss."

“Bliss,” she repeated, looking up at her. Jinx thought it was a strange word to try and associate with something, and yet an image came to mind. It was one that made her giggle. Her fingers turned the page, and once more she began to draw.

Dr. Danvers had a home once, but she was so casual about saying it was in the past. It was seemed to be something she didn’t want to talk about. “You know, that’s not fair really. You want me to talk and open up about things, but you don’t seem so willing to do the same. What was your home like? Was it….bliss,” she asked, holding up the pad to show a cake. “It’s chocolate. Nothing says bliss like chocolate cake.”

She was mid email when Jinx spoke, her eyes looking up from the screen, "No, it was nowhere near bliss. I moved around a lot due to my studies. Never really settled anywhere. That's all there is about it."

Which was untrue. It wasn't just her studies that had made her move around, but it was something Mackenzie avoided thinking about, at least while she was around others.

"Cake huh?" She stared at the picture, writing in her notes her findings. Is not in relationship then, or in love for that matter. Otherwise they have been symbolized in the picture.

"Next word," she noticed the exercise seemed to be working, the telekinetic girl calm now, but Mack was also keenly aware some of the words to come would upset the girl, "hm...how about 'Envy'."

“Envy,” she said softly. Jinx tossed the pad down and cleared her throat. “That’s an easy one. You. I envy you. Nobody knows hardly anything about you, and yet they don’t want to poke or hurt you to study you. They’re happy not knowing. In fact, they’re paying to come here and learn about us. At the end of the night, you can leave this place. You can go home and have chocolate cake if you wanted. Freedom isn’t just a word to you. Home isn’t just a word to you. Whether you moved around a lot or not, you can still go home. I’m not stupid you know,” she began, looking down at the floor. “I know I’ll never go home again. Whether my mom and dad are still alive is something I don’t want to think about much. I’d think of them as alive and working. Maybe the institute lied to them, and they think I’m alright, helping to better understand the people in the world that are like me. It’s a noble cause, and they’re proud of me.” She wiped away a single tear. “It’s better than the truth. The truth is an ugly thing around here. I don’t know if it’s this place or the people in it that make it that way. Maybe it’s both, but it is what it is. So Dr. Danvers, I envy you with all your tattoos and freedom. Is that okay?”

"It isn't a picture."

Mack let out a grin, leaning back in the couch, "Been holding that one back for a bit haven't you Jinx? But the rules were, draw a picture. If you envy me, draw me. But please do not assume who I am or what I do."

She had barely started her first day on the job and already she was being analyzed by her own patients, looked at as one of them. Damn. So much for standing out, she thought, I thought I'd be pegged differently then the lab coats here but it seems I'm wrong.

"I'll give it to you straight kid," she put the laptop down and crossed her legs one over the other, "when they offered the job I refused it. Didn't think I could stomach it. Still don't. All of you being locked up in here? That's horrid. But I was told it was for your own good. That many of you were criminals or killers, that locking you up was safest. Do I believe them? Guess I did, because I'm here now. Took the offer the second time around. Do I still believe them. Not sure. I look at you and see a good kid whose scared, but then again you admitted you...hurt someone."

She leaned forward, letting her smile come back so Jinx knew she wasn't mad, "Please don't ever count me as one of them. I don't intend to hurt anyone here. I came to learn about what you all are, maybe help educate others so they don't hurt you as badly. One action of one foul doctor does not make up all our actions Jinx. I promise you that."

Getting up she took the paper and pen away, knowing better than to keep pushing the girl as she spoke, "oh and if I'm going to eat cake it better be vanilla. So much better than chocolate."

She put the things away, for a minute turning so Jinx couldn't see her face. Were all the patients here like her? Taken from thier homes, stealing their freedoms? What was this place? Mackenzie had been told all these things...were they all lies? Could she stomach this? Its my firs day and it very well might be my last. I'm not even sure contributing to this place is right anymore.

Jinx glanced down. She was right. The truth was she wasn’t doing her any favors by making assumptions. She was doing the exact same thing the doctors here were doing with her. When she looked at her, she assumed that she had everything she wanted.

As Dr. Danvers kept speaking, Jinx looked up at her once more. “You asked me to not assume who you are or what you do. I ask the same of you. Don’t look at me and assume that just because I admitted I hurt someone that I’m bad. Accidents happen, and someone not drilled a hole in my head, it never would have happened. It’s wrong for anyone to hold something like that against me when it would have never happened had they not done what they did to me.” She had to take a deep breath to steady herself or otherwise things in the room would have started flying.

“You look at me, and you think I’m a good kid. Why? Because I look nice or because you’ve seen me be good? So far you’ve spent a few minutes with me, and it sounds like we’ve both drawn conclusions about the other one. Now we could be doing a great disservice by doing that, or we could both be right on the money. Either way, it’s already done. Conclusions have already been formed. Now it becomes a matter of either changing the other person’s mind or confirming what they already believe.”

Jinx stood up and slowly walked around the office. “I’m sure some of the people here may be a danger to society, but I’m also sure some of them are not patients. As for you, I’m still making up my mind on what kind of doctor you are. Snap judgments don’t do anyone any good in here. So how about from here on out, neither one of us does to the other one. We get to know each other before we form any other opinions. How does that sound?”

Dr. Danvers turned and leaned against her desk, simply listening to the patient. She made valid, mature points, speaking with a tone many years her age. When all was said and done, Mack folded her arms over her chest and cocked her head.

"How old are you Jinx? You like, maybe 18, and yet you speak with many years of wisdom. Yes, that sounds about right. I'm sorry about my comment about the dead guard. I was simply trying to get a point across, not upset you. If you would like, I can have the guards escort you back. I seem to have agitated you, which is not my content. Or if you feel calm enough, we can both sit back down and discuss something else, perhaps something positive?"

The thought of going back to her cell was not something she wanted to do. “How about we talk about something positive then. Forgive me if I have trouble thinking of something to discuss.” Jinx crossed back over to the couch and slowly sank back down to it. Making herself comfortable, she looked over to the doctor. “I could tell you about my home, if you want. Maybe answer some questions about my power. I mean you’re here to study us. I’m sure you must have questions.”

Mackenzie did indeed have many questions. Sitting down she too got comfortable, kicking her heels off and pulling her legs up onto the couch as she looked at Jinx, "Sure hun. How about you tell me about both. Your home and what your powers are like?"

Home. It wasn’t easy to talk about or think about, but it was what she wanted to know about. Already images were coming to mind that quickly made a lump form in her throat. “Home is a farm. When you think about the country, with the pastures of cows and chickens, that’s home. I grew up working there. My parents both come from magical bloodlines. Two powerful ones actually, but when they were born, they showed no powers. So even they had married, joining the lines, it was all for nothing. No powers between them. So their baby wouldn’t have any. The bloodlines had reached the end. So they bought the farm, literally, and were so happy. Then mom got pregnant, and here I came. I wish I could say at first I didn’t show any powers, but even when I was a week old, if I cried, things flew off the shelves.”

Jinx couldn’t help but smile at the memory of her mother telling her that story. “My grandmother was brought in to help train me. I couldn’t do to public school. Never did. I learned everything at home. I did have..a friend. Once.” It was a memory Jinx had forgotten about while she was here. It was something lost among all the bad things happening here. Her. She bite her bottom lip, feeling her cheeks warm. “You’re wrong about me Doctor Danvers. I’m not a good person. The guard..she wasn’t..the first one. I’ve killed before.”
