Finding the Three Lost Angels: Faith, Hope, and Love (Yuna & Malin's 1x1)

Akiyama finished his meal and headed down to the dueling arena's today was the first exhibition matches of the year, and there were a few traditions set into place at Duel Academy. Sitting down he pulled out his PDA, and checked it over for a moment contemplating sending a message to Esyel, but thought better of it, as the schools headmaster stepped forward into the light to grab everyones attention.

Tohru walked along the far side of the arena, checking too see if he could spot anyone he recognized in the crowd while at the same time wondering who he would be dueling. When the headmaster stepped forward and everything got silent there was a cold chill that ran down his spine, for a moment he could have sworn he felt someone was watching him from higher on the rafters. Shaking off the feeling he found Esyel

"As is tradition among our school the first duels of the year will be played by the new students who have just joined us as sorted by your houses, and chosen at random." He said lightly. "As last year we started with The Obelisk dorms this year we will start with the slifer red dorm and work our way up in skill."

As he spoke the randomized computer started to go about it's job displaying all of the names of the first year students in Slifer Red, and then went about randomizing them, Tohru couldn't help but think that this was going to be his chance to shine. This was his chance to show up the rest of the school and start off the year right, and if by que the computor halted.

1st Duel, Tohru Hyoumitsu vs Esyel Yatsumi.

Tohru gave a small gulp as he bit his lip. Really? Out of all 10 of the slifer red first years, his first duel of the year and term had to be against the one girl he actually knew in his dorm. ~It's fine it's not like your life is on the line. Just get down there and shuffle your deck.~ He thought as he walked into the spotlight for once.

Sure enough, Esyel was indeed watching Tohru from above; both her and Akane to be more exact. And when the first match got announced, both reacted. With Akane, however, it wasn't nearly as obvious. But deep down, she was shocked and simultaneously afraid for her brother. Her mind was racing along with her heart.

Tch, random my ass. No ... not this time ...

Even if she couldn't prove it, her gut instincts were screaming that this had been a set up. For now, however, she didn't allow that to be her focus. Tohru would need her, regardless of the outcome of this duel, more so now that she'd given Esyel those cards. Without making a fuss or scene, she walked away from her seat and snuck down towards the arena, ending up beside Tohru.

Thankfully, it had typically been a tradition for each competitor to have one person beside them for support. Now would be no exception, she knew. It was but an optional thing after all and as long as the bystander never got directly involved, it was legal.

Esyel felt herself nearly collapse just from hearing her name being announced. "W....what?" She stammered, feeling her own pulse frantically race. Was this all real? After seeing her own name on the computer screen, it clarified that yes, this was all happening. Her head shook as she took a deep breath. "Calm yourself. At least it's Tohru." She reassured herself, giving him a smile as she wound up across from him and Akane.

During the course of the duel, a rare sense of anger swam through her. At first, it had been from her own monsters being stolen thanks to some of the monsters Tohru had used. But then, even after she tried to get over that, there seemed to be ... something else that Esyel couldn't quite pinpoint. Her hands were shaking, even as she activated Solar Ray and won the duel.

"...T-to .. .h... ru ... " As quickly as she tried to call out to her classmate, a new and almost spiteful sense of fatigue seemed to overwhelm her. She didn't take more than a few steps away from her spot before her body began to fall forward, gravity beginning to overtake it as her unconsciousness slipped.

The results of the duel didn't exactly help Akane out either. She had thought Tohru may be safe when none of the Sanctuary in the Sky cards appeared. But each time he lost life points, she could sense it. It didn't matter. The damage was, literally, being done to him. Before he collapsed - or tried to - she moved from the side to behind him, catching him so his back would land against her chest.

"I got you, ototo. I'm here ... " She whispered softly, unsure if he'd even noticed her moving beside him at all.

All the while, her mind went back to this match and pondering if it was really as random as it seemed. She knew it should be. But that in itself was the keyword; should. Something about all of this still felt so very wrong and amiss. What, though, even Akane didn't know. But she definitely intended to find out, one way or another.

Akiyama had moved down to stand beside Esyel. She didn't have anyone else to support her, and while she was going up against a member of her own year and class, he didn't really like that there was an Obileskk blue on Tohru's side. If he had it his way they both would have been going at this without support, but as the battle proggressed he realized just how important standing beside her was. When she stumbled he was there to catch her. He had never seen a duel where someone had actually taken damage from the duel, but when Tohru stole her monsters and used it against her he was sure he saw a bit of blood from some of the up front attacks.

And a quick pat down showed that she had indeed been hurt by the supposed holographic monsters on display today. The arena however ate it up, and the crowed loved the duel. Akiyama looked down at Esyel she looked completely exhausted. He had never seen anything like this before, and was a bit out of his element. As she slipped into unconcousness he turned towards Akane, and Tohru who seemed to be having the same effect.

On the other side of the arena however, Tohru collapsed. his cards falling to the ground and scattering over the floor. He landed against Akane, but had already lost consciousness by the time she had helped him up, and his body was little less than limp. His mind was scattered and in pain, but more than that, his breathing was rather shallow. He was hurting, but had also handled the tainted cards. The same energies that had scattered over the duel, had also hit him, and what was more he had handled the cards for almost more than half the duel.

The arena was now more than silent, it was like a graveyard. It had gone from loving the intense match which had ended with only a 550 life point difference, and ended with both players collapsing into the arms of their supports. Akiyama shot a worried glance towards Akane, unsure of what was happening. "Lets get these too to the medical office!" He said quickly turning to leave. Taking Esyel's body with him, She was remarkably light for a girl of her size. It was like lifting a feather, and while Akiyama could boast about his strength he knew he wasn't that strong.

Elsewhere high in the rafters, another man had watched the duel. His glasses were focused on the match he had just seen. He had never intended for the other boy to touch the cards, he had warned against a mortal handling those for good reason. There was bound to be a rather interesting show even if it was unintended it would be worth watching.

Still he was going to have a rather angry older sister to deal with, and so he quickly walked away to return to his office. Vanishing without a trace from the duel room, no one noticing that he was actually gone as all their focus was on the students who had collapsed and the head master trying to arrange the next round despite the injuries.

Even from just a quick glance, it was clear to Akiyama and Akane both that Tohru had definitely taken much worse of the damage toll. Esyel, however, had not been exempt as she was also bleeding a bit herself. For a few seconds even, Akiyama would almost swear the mostly red outfit had shifted for a few seconds to something akin to a white shawl shape covering her body. Barely, but still. As quickly as it had seemed to change, he saw the Slifer outfit covering her. Esyel's own breathing was slow but not nearly as shallow or desperate as Tohru's. It was definitely enough to give plenty of fair reasons for concern though.

A quick glance over Tohru's shoulder revealed to Akane that her brother was already unconscious. Her teeth gripped her lower lip as she looked at his cards. She would have grabbed them and reconstructed the deck. But she couldn't, not with how he was. He needed medical attention first and foremost. A frustrated "Urgh!" passed her lips as she hoisted her brother up, merely nodding as she ran alongside Akiyama to the infirmary.

Emotions and thoughts were swimming through her mind. She knew perfectly a good part of this was her fault. Even if this hadn't been Tohru, someone else probably would have gotten hurt. But to this extent? Not necessarily. In fact, it wouldn't have been likely; not unless they had a monster-control based deck also and thus handled the cards.

Fuck, fuck, fuck! Now what?!

For the first time since she met Yuu, Akane was having serious second thoughts on everything that was going on. She should reveal why everything had just happened, yes. But if anything happened to her, she wouldn't be able to save her brother. And in her mind and eyes, that was far worse than anything Yuu could do if she did end up betraying him. That being said, she had to confront him about this ... right?

That was perhaps the only - main anyways - reason it didn't feel as random as it should have. They had talked about Tohru yesterday. But ... hadn't he agreed and allowed for Akane to wait before approaching her brother about siding with her when that bridge arrived? Unless he was just bullshitting her ..

Her hands shook but she didn't dare loosen her grip on Tohru's body.

As they arrived in the infirmary, her head jerked up, revealing her one crimson eye. She looked right at the nurse and refused to hold back the verbal outlash. "If anything goes wrong or worsens, you fucking contact me first. That goes with either of them but especially Tohru. Got it?!" Her eyes firmly remained upon the doctor, only leaving after she saw the desired nod of agreement catch her orbs.

After Akiyama set Esyel down, she walked out of the infirmary. Even with her brother like this, she couldn't just skip her classes. More than that, she was desperately trying to figure out the next course of action. It would have to be something she would determine carefully. The first and immediate step she was trying to decide - which would end up being the end factor for many things - was whether to confront Yuu or not. As much as she should, it was risky and foolish to do so. Mainly because there was no real evidence to point he truly had been the cause of the match being set up as it had. And if it had been random ... it'd cost her too much.

The sensation of suddenly being stuck made Akane's body tremble violently. She'd never felt like this before, certainly not in a duel. And now that she was experiencing this, Akane realized at least one thing for certain. If she could handle it, she never wanted to feel this helpless or vulnerable ever again.

Her mixed eyes slowly glanced up to Akiyama, though no words left her lips. She truly felt completely at a loss, unsure not only what to do but say.

Akiyama walked up to Akane, no dount that she was shaken from what she had witnessed, but it seemed more than that. He was still trying to figgure out what happened to Tohru and and Esyel. It seemed more than impossible. at least more impossible than he was actually used too. A brief moment of postulation made him wonder if that had anything to with the many disapearances that happened over the last school year. The more he thought on it however the more his mind just wanted to explode.

"That didn't seem physically possible." Akiyama said finally as he had walked with her in silence. He knew the stories, things like the king of games, Yugi Moto, and the bizarre occurrences that sometimes revolved around him, but that always seemed to happen to the top tier players. Down at Esyel's and Tohru's level the game was just supposed to be a game right? Shaking his head Akiyama wasn't even sure that was the case anymore. In fact he wasn't really sure of anything anymore.

He knew that there was something wrong going on around them but at the same time he was one of the normal people the unsuspecting and unassuming. He shook his head confused as he walked with Akane towards their first class. In two days time it would be the Obelisk matches. He would rather see Esyel and Tohru both up and running again before that happened, but there was a level of mystery here that he wasn't comprehending. "What could have gone wrong, and why?" He asked Akane as if she knew what was going on.

Yuu walked into the classroom and took his seat, somewhere in the middle row, where he wouldn't be seen or bothered. Just an aimless face in the crowd of dozens. He knew that Akane would want to face off against him in some way after what happened this morning. Though in truth He already knew how he was going to handle her when she came towards him. He smiled at the thought of what was coming, and the best part was he had just crippled some of his competition.

Yuu was confident in his plans as it was, and what was more the link he had with the corrupted cards helped him to syphin most of the fairy's energy, along with the boy who handled the cards. It wasn't as effective as collecting a full soul but at the same time it was also far more difficult to notice. He was now free to corrupt Esyel, at his pleasure, and perhaps he would eventually work towards finding a better use for Tohru than just a hostage to help keep his big sister in line.

Shaken was definitely one of the many terms that was a fair one to describe Akane. But there was so much more besides that single adjective. She was furious - with both herself and Yuu, a bit betrayed, violent. And yet even with all of those, there were things like confusion, doubt, uncertainty, and even anxiety. For the longest time, she stayed outside of the infirmary, keeping quiet. But as Akiyama began to walk away, she followed suit. As much as she didn't wish to go to class, Akane had a reputation to hold up; and not just because she was in Obelisk.

Finally, Akiyama pondered aloud what had gone wrong. Her heart froze and then raced. Should she reveal the answer? Although the keyword was 'should', fear kept her from speaking. After a bit more of silence lingered between them, Akane merely shook her head. "I don't know ... " She replied. Within seconds, the sensation of an invisible hand landing on her cheek registered to her mind, as if she'd slapped herself. To be fair, part of her did want to and were she alone, Akane would consider it. But not now. She had other things to focus on.

As the classroom came into view, Akane halted outside the door. After purposely lowering her volume, she added in a gentle tone to Akiyama. "This is going to require some looking into. I'll see what can be found out. Until then, the best that we can do is hope they pull through." And with that, she opened the door and took her seat which was a few rows directly in front of Yuu.

Even as she sat in the classroom and tried to listen to the lesson, Akane continued to think heavily on the primary question haunting her mind. Should she even confront Yuu at all or not? A choice had to be made and, likely, sooner as opposed to later.

An inward sigh and groan resounded in her head as she tried to figure herself and what to do out.

Akiyama sat down, and spent the entire class wondering. Under his desk he lightly pulled out his PDA, and started to look stuff up on the internet. It was a hopeless endeavor of course. He checked all over Kaiba Corps website and searched everything he could about how the duel disk worked, possible malfunctions, and aside from a couple of injuries, burned arms from overheating, one guy who accidentally deployed the gen one holographic interface to close to his actual face and ended up getting smashed with the pods they used back then. There wasn't anything like what he had witnessed.

Of course there were still the cases of missing students from the last year, but that wasn't something he could just ask a teacher about. Rather he was left without the ability to say or do anything except hope and sit on the sidelines. Akane was right that in the end there was nothing to do except hope that those two turned out okay. However Akiyama was terrible at sitting down and doing nothing these days. He had gotten himself involved with this problem, and wanted nothing more than to solve what was going on.

Sadly his mind was so scattered that he really didn't catch any of what the teacher was saying except for the very last part of what his lecture contained.

"Of course you will need to remember all of this for the mid term, which will be in three weeks."

Akiyama let out a heavy sigh... great, he didn't even know which class he was sitting in at this point, but he knew that that what ever they had been talking about for the last hour would end up on the test. That was literally just what he didn't want to hear. At that point Akiyama's head just hit his desk as the bell rang. It was pointless, It wasn't a possible flaw with the holographic design, though there were reports of people thinking they got hurt, flinching, and one old man even had a heart attack when they revealed the old stadium versions that people used to play around on.

"If it's not the duel disks... maybe it was the cards?" He said lightly under his breath. It wasn't even really possible for cards to hold any possible effect like he had seen, it seemed impossible and kind of stupid to say alloud, but there had been an old brittish set of books from way back in the day. Sherlock holmes, a book about a detective who used deductive reasoning ~When you've taken out the impossible, and what didn't happen, what ever remains no matter how improbable must be the truth.~ It wasn't a flaw in the holographic teck or the duel disks, so that left two possibilities neither of them were things that Akiyama liked.

Yuu got up from his chair and walked down from his hiding place, turning he placed a set of notes in front of Akane. "I figgured you wouldn't be focusing during class today, so I went ahead and made a copy for you." He said lightly. "I'm sorry to hear about Tohru." He said showing public concern, and then offered for her to walk with him as he wanted to make his exit from this classroom.

Much like Akiyama, Akane spent most of the class contemplating and thinking on what to do; mainly whether to confront Yuu on her theory or not. But the main reason which kept insisting it may not be wise was the lack of proof. And things really would get worse before better if she stormed over to him, tried to accuse him of the set up .. only to find out it all had indeed just been random. It'd be horrid luck, mind you. But at least it would mean that Yuu hadn't been behind this like she was trying to currently determine. Her right palm gently massaged her forehead as multiple inward groans resounded in her head. This was an incredibly delicate and complicated situation, one that needed to have the correct steps taken in order to properly proceed with solving it.

Every now and again, Akane snuck glances towards Akiyama. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noted he was using his PDA to do research. As much as it made her glad to see he had taken up the advice, she knew one thing for sure. Things were definitely going to have to be performed very, very carefully. It'd be ... unfortunate if Akiyama managed to trace any of the events that happened recently back to her, especially the cards and why they had acted up the way they did.

The announcement of midterms arriving in three weeks caused a soft sigh to elicit from Akane's lips. Maybe it was just her but that felt much quicker than usual. Ah well. Even if that was the case, it meant the year would end sooner. And in a way, that was actually good. While she was pressed even more for time, the others would be far too busy to see all that would soon come. And by the time anyone began to realize it, it wouldn't matter.

... And you're still helping him why?

A slight frown crossed her face as she massaged her forehead a bit more. Even if Yuu hadn't caused this .. she tried to remember. What in the hell would she even gain from this? It almost felt like nothing. That being said, why should she owe him anything? A headache began to pester her, making her lightly wince every few moments. The sounds of the bell ringing plus Yuu speaking up made Akane look up and temporarily leave her thoughts and doubts behind, the sight of the much more organized set of notes helping out.

".... Thanks. Yeah. I can't lie; the last thing on my mind was this lesson. Thanks, Yuu."

Gently taking the notes, she placed them in her binder before standing up. As Tohru got mentioned, her frown became more obvious upon her face. "... Hm. I hope someone got his deck since I had to rush him to the infirmary. Thanks. I didn't think he had the ability to shift control in his deck. He used to always call those tactics 'cheap'; at least from what I remember. Seems kinda intriguing he'd use them now .... goddamnit.... " Her head lowered slightly as another sigh passed her lips.

Her feet soon began to guide Akane out of the classroom and into the halls; all beside Yuu the entire time. "Honestly were it not for the fact I have a reputation to keep, I'd say the fuck with classes." Maybe the better wording was that should be her response. But she couldn't just forget about her other obligations, even with having a good reason to. No. It pained her but she decided that unless she was contacted and informed of Tohru's condition getting worse, she'd continue her typical routine and attend classes.

It didn't seem to matter what angel that Akiyama looked at it he was simply lost. He didn't have any real advantage when it came to trying to solve this case, and at the same time the mystery that was coming up was not making any real sense to him. He shook his head, nothing was ever solved in a single day, at least nothing like this. There was a chance that there was some information out there, and in light of that idea he pulled out his PDA, going to a rumor board focused around duel monsters he quickly typed up his post.

It wasn't the smartest way to solve a case, but after what he had seen, and with how little understanding he had at this moment he was willing to take a few creepy pasta's and internet rumors in the one chance that someone would actually know what they are talking about. It was not a great idea, but there was always a way it come through for him.

~Danger to players?~
So A friend of mine was dueling, when she got hit hard with one of her own monsters. I know I have flinched when dealing with my duel disk, i mean really who doesn't. But after the duel ended the two of them collapsed, and whats more they seemed like they were actually injured...

Could it be her duel disk was some how damaged? I've never heard of anyone being hurt by this card game, so does anyone else know anything?

With that Akiyama closed his PDA. He had another class he needed to get too, and as much as he would love to focus only on the mystery at hand he couldn't allow his grades to suffer anymore than they already would. It was time for him to set all of this aside and work on what was important to surviving the school year.

Yuu sighed lightly seeing Akane struggle with what was going on. "Yes well it is only natural for you to want to help your brother." He said lightly, in truth Akane had been the one to fail him, but he wouldn't let that secret go just yet. Instead he walked along side her for a little while, and simply gave a small shake of his head.

"It wasn't me." He said lightly. "Tohru had a fair one in nine chance of walking into that arena today, and the fates simply chose that he would step into the arena. The only thing I didn't do was protect him from that chance." He made sure to speak quietly so that only Akane could hear him now, what he was about to say was important and something he wanted to let her understand well and truly. "of course had you gone and spoken to him last night as you had requested, instead of throwing a tantrum, I would have likely would have taken the time and energy needed to protect the boy from such a fate. You also never mentioned the boy used a controlling deck."

Yuu looked at her more seriously now. "I hope we come to an understanding Akane, I don't want things like this to come between us."

And with that Yuu turned to leave Akane's side. "I have an errand I need to run now, if you don't mind would you be a dear and take notes for me on the next class." He gave her a rather sweet smile and walked away.

An eyebrow couldn't help but raise slightly as those three words passed Yuu's lips. Akane stayed quiet and while she did hear the rest of his words, those repeated every few seconds within her mind.

"It wasn't me."

There was no damn way he was a Psychic too, otherwise she would have understood where those words came from. But no. He didn't have that kind of aura around him. So where in the hell did that come from all of a sudden? It hadn't been as defensive-sounding as it could have been. But for Yuu to just abruptly bring such words up? It was definitely making many alarms go off in her mind. He could have said anything. So why that? Those second guesses she'd been having about Yuu only seemed to get stronger. Maybe the right course of action was to admit what was happening to Akiyama.

But was it all really that simple? In concept, yes. In execution? Not so much.

"... As I said," she repeated, keeping a calm but firm tone to her voice. "I would speak to him when that time arrived. Clearly, however, there has been a change of plans. I will when the day ends."

Akiyama would be first, of course. But otherwise she was speaking the truth on the matter. She would have to make some pretty desperate choices and given how things were going, it seemed sooner as opposed to later.

"Yeah, I'll get the notes for you. Don't worry about it." And with that, she turned on her feet and headed to the next class.

Fuck off, Yuu. I didn't throw a tantrum. Stupid bastard ...

Needless to say, her mood had been god-awful as it was. That talk did anything but help her out. And were Yuu nearby, the sounds of her footsteps becoming heavier and faster would have easily hinted this.

Back in the Spirit World, a restless figure was pacing back and forth. Although she looked like a bluenette, that wasn't at all her true form. It was draining her to keep herself hidden. But gods help her, she had to! Hiding away from the other factions had been a hell of a chore. But it was all necessary.

It'd started out when she met Yuu. It was a love-at-first sight type of encounter. Cliche? Maybe but she never once regretted it. Not even to this day. What did annoy her though was a majority of the duel monsters' responses. Many were against their relationship. Why was beyond her but with how most reacted, it was as if they were the most taboo pairing in existence.

It had been enough for her and Yuu to turn their backs and leave the village. Only Yuu had been able to leave the Spirit World, however. The entrance/exit closed before she could. He'd been keeping in touch with her, however, and swearing he'd find a way.

And according to their last talk a few days ago, that was supposed to arrive sooner as opposed to later.

"Please try to hurry ... " She murmured, sneaking glances every now and again to ensure she hadn't been followed. Ambushes had been heavy against her the last few days. She could do without one for once and be given some rest.

But even if that wasn't the case, just being with Yuu again would more than suffice.

Fools! They'll regret driving me out! They'll see ...

A small half-smile and half-smirk crossed her face as the thoughts of revenge and being with Yuu again entered her mind.

Akiyama had lost interest in the rest of the classes for the day. Instead he had decided that his time was simply better spent in the library, and so without any mention of anything he turned and walked away from the rest of the campus finding instead the acadamies main library. Every book that he could have thought of in an academic situation was along these walls, it was a towering two story library, with many bookcases archiving everything from ancient histories to modern science.

The problem was however where to start. In the abundance of books and information available to Akiyama there was still so much missing that it was like finding a needle in a haystack. He had already ruled out the possibility of it being the duel disks fault. They simply didn't operate in a way that would make the monsters real. Everything that had happened had almost seemed to be magic.

It was that thought however which made Akiyama more curious about such things. Duel monsters did have a unique history behind for those who looked closely enough at it. Things like the Egyptian Rosetta, now on display in Domino Cities historical muesium depected blue eyes white dragon, and dark magician almost 2000 years before Pegasus even created the card game. Though many suspect that was where he pulled the cards from, as pegasus himself was a student well versed in ancient history.

Still maybe there was more to the story, considering the king of games and all that stuff, and so Akiyama went about the library finding anything and everything that was marked as duel monster history.

Yuu on the other hand vanished once he was done telling off Akane he had no doubt that the girl was going to try and go against his will, but that was hardily his concern at this point. In fact he was counting on it at this point. these secrets were bound to come to light one way or the other, and it was soon to no longer matter. He was close now, he just needed a little more to attain his goal, and at this point even if she turned against him, it didn't matter, Akane was about to play a very important part in his plans.

Walking into the female bathhouse, he smiled. There was no one here, and the pool was dry for the day. Walking down into where the water should have been, however he could feel the connection to the other side. There were a few places with such a connection on this island, but this one was the closest and easiest to use. It was also the smallest, which meant he could damage it now, and it still wouldn't factor into his plans.

It honestly had taken a lot to gain as much power in this world as he had once had on the other side. The spirits of humans were far weaker then he would have expected, and when he had been making his escape with Isabella, he had been caught in between worlds and hurt when the gate they had been using had closed. However it seemed that the combination of Esyel, and Tohru's spiritual energy was more then enough to restore him. The fairy user was made of something much more powerful then a regular human, that duel had been like being plugged into a wall outlet, and for the first time in almost two years, Yuu could finally wield some real power.

Taking off his glasses, they trans-morphed into a staff, and as he bashed it lightly against the ground writting started to appear all around him in a circle. He could feel the flow of energy between this world and the next, and for a moment focused on that. It wasn't a large enough rip for him to initiate the full plan, but it was more then enough to call forth one person.

"forgive me... this is likely to hurt." He said lightly unsure if his words were even going to make it to her. He focused and for a moment was able to rip the gate open so that it was visible. Reaching his hand in, it felt like he was putting his hand through a bucket of solid ice, and then as he pulled his hand back out, this time he pulled on the hair of a young spirit, giving her the last 'tug' she would need to go through to the human world.

Yuu's purple eyes brightened smiling as the gate disappeared unusable, and the connection between worlds faded once more. "Long time no see my love."

A low groan elicited from Esyel. Slowly, but steadily, her eyes began to open before finally the blue hues could be seen. Well, they would have if anyone else were in the infirmary. That alone kind of bothered her. Why weren't there any nurses or doctors? She had little time to think on that though as she soon sensed something else. Her gaze shifted toward Tohru and the duel hit her like a brick as her eyes widened. Forgetting completely about herself, she shoved herself onto her feet, walking shakily toward his bed.

"This is my fault ... " she murmured, feeling tears threatening to form in her eyes. His life force was there, but barely. And there was only one way to fix this. She realized what it would mean for herself but .. the hell with it. If she could begin to redeem herself, so be it.

Resting her hands gently upon Tohru's shoulders, she began sending healing surges through his body. In the midst of this, however, more and more of her true form began to emerge. The Slifer Red uniform shifted into her angelic one. Soon, all six wings - albeit a tad messier than usual - could be seen as could the incredibly short golden robes and matching seductive shawls wrapped around her arms.

"Please wake up ... " she whispered, her hands shaking slightly. If she was the reason he died ... no. She didn't even want to think of that. He had to pull through. And yet, simultaneously, she felt herself a bit confused. Was this only because of her angelic nature that she cared so much? If so, why did it feel like there was more?

It was a bit reluctant, but Akane walked into the next classroom. She did note, however, that Akiyama wasn't there. An inward chuckle echoed in her head. He was already on the move even if she was uncertain what direction to step toward. The answer had been becoming more clear, no doubt. But she wanted to be completely certain on that before doing anything. Her head stayed down and while she took notes, Akane tried to think back to last year. What had tempted her to join his side last year? This was definitely one of the easiest ways she'd been able to freely use her powers. But was that really it? Her teeth gripped her lower lip slightly.

What a fucking idiot you are ...

It had seemed like a good - no, great - idea at the time. Now, though, she felt like she was on the wrong side. And given Yuu was as powerful as he was, that said quite a bit. Her teeth released her lower lip as a soft sigh passed her lips. If she was thinking such things of him, the answer should be clear, shouldn't it? These emotions were ... foreign for Akane. Usually, she was decisive and positive on what she felt, what she knew, things of the like. But now, she was an emotional wreck full of doubts and uncertainty. Even if she went to Akiyama ... what then?

Some would probably interrogate or keep Akane prisoner after hearing the cause had literally been right under their nose. It may not be an orthodox way to go about things. But many not-so-typical things had happened in the Academy before. And gods knew the teachers seldom if ever did shit to enforce what did or didn't happen.

But really, when all was said and done, perhaps she should accept her fate. Akane had been dodging and avoiding things for so long. Maybe it was time to step up, if for no other reason, for Tohru's sake.

Nodding to herself, Akane began working on the second set of notes for Yuu. Even if she turned her back on him, Akane would at least make herself seem like she was still loyal to the very end. And that would require for her to keep her promises. She could afford to complete a simple enough request. After this, though ... things were going to change once the day ended.

Isabella jumped slightly as a hand reached through. But with the side it was coming from plus even recognizing it, it made a smile cross her face. Unfortunately, Yuu had been correct. Travelling between dimensions always came with a cost. Sometimes it was fatigue, other times pain. Now was one when the latter occurred. She whimpered slightly as Isabella came through the rift, panting and shaking slightly. The slight yank on her hair hadn't been a sensation she was fond of, but she would allow it slide. Yuu had been able to help get her past that horrible side and she was certain enough that if he'd been able to properly see, he would have chosen a better place on her body like an arm to grab and pull.

"Love ... " she murmured softly, hugging him eagerly, her human form also fading. "Tch, damnit. Go figure."

To be fair, she'd kept her bluenette appearance up for the past several days. That alone had been impressive considering a witch hunt was out for her.

The once navy locks shifted to their real color of purple, the matching eyes turning white. She wasn't blind, oh no. Far from it. At worst, cursed; no doubt by the other spellcasters. Things had never gone so wrong until the bastards dared to interfere with her and Yuu. They should have just minded their own affairs and left them be. But no! Ah well. No matter. They'd pay soon enough.

"Where ... am I, love?" She inquired, glancing around curiously. "Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to be with you. But I would like to have an answer or idea of some sort."

Tohru wasn't dead, but he had been close. His body since it's collapse hadn't been dreaming or even thinking, rather he had simply fallen into a deep and dark coma, he was mostly dead, but even in that state there was a part of him that was still partly alive. And when Esyel applied her healing magic onto his body it reacted none to kindly to her.

His body had been tainted with dark energy and most of that was still coursing through the veins of the smaller 1st year student. Even as his body reacted to the healing those corrupted energies did what they did best and latched onto the new powersource taking as much of Esyel's energy as she could offer it actively resisted the healing, attacking her body through the negativity. However when she dropped her disguise, the darkness seemed to evaperate in the precessence of an actual divine being. The magic left Tohru, and his physical wounds healed.

A moment latter his eyes started to open, and Tohru practically fell out of bed when he realized what he was looking at. "What the." at first he thought he was still in the duel with Esyel she had summoned a creature just like that as one of her fairies. However that idea slowly became apparently wrong when he looked around himself and found that he was in the infermary. Looking up at Esyel, he blinked lightly.

"Esyel?... What... are you." Tohru said his voice more intrigued by everything rather than fearful.

Yuu smiled lightly returning the embrace of his lover. It had indeed been far too long since he had worked with her, or seen her for that matter. Seeing her true form return to her body, and seeing the white eyes he blinked it seemed that time had not been kind to Isabella, and that alone was slightly painful too realize. Her suffering was part of his failure to protect her.

His staff returned to the glasses and he placed them back on his face, his features returning to the human design they needed to be. It was easier too provide an enchantment on this side then to simply use all of ones own energy. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out his spare set. "Here take these, they will help you maintain a human guise." Smiling he took her hand, and lifted her back up.

"We are on the other side now, the human side. This is duel academy island, the women's bath house actually. One of the smaller gates on this island. Sadly it's now broken, pulling you through to our side seems to have also closed it so that no one can re open it." He smiled lightly that had been the plan for now however. It seemed he really could pull a person through to this side with his current strength. It wasn't enough to what he wanted to do however. To make that a reality he would need just a little more strength than what he currently had.

"Your safe now." He said leaning in and kissing her forehead softly. "But we shouldn't stay here."

Esyel's teeth gripped her lower lip as she'd felt the dark energy try to block her own out. Her head shook adamantly from side to side. Nu-uh. He wouldn't die! Not like this of all the ways! The more effort Esyel put, the quicker her disguise was leaving and seeming to stay that way. There would be few ways Esyel could leave the infirmary anytime soon. But for now, she was fine with that. The process slowed as Tohru finally began to come to and open his eyes. But she definitely didn't stop by any means, oh gods no. Doing that would give the unholy aura opportunities to take over him again. And if it meant giving her life to him to prevent this, so be it.

Why do you care so much?

Even now, Esyel still didn't fully understand the reasons. It seemed to be simply obligation. But there was a painful, stinging feeling in her heart. And it was all from being so terrified of not being able to do anything for Tohru. So while it did indeed seem like obligations was the correct answer, there almost felt as if there were still another answer she hadn't yet pinpointed.

As Tohru spoke her name aloud, she gave him an affirmative nod, fighting the urge to cry in front of him still. "Yes. It's me. I ... well. Simply put, I'm akin to what Judai Yuki was; a reincarnated Duel Spirit. In my case, I'm a rebirth of the card Wingweaver. I think I summoned her during that duel. I ... I don't know what happened. Really." She quickly added, frowning slightly as the flashback tried to haunt her. It succeeded for a few seconds before she forced her mind to forget about it for now.

"How .. are you feeling?" She asked, shakily sitting beside Tohru's bed, her hands resting upon her lap as her eyes glanced down toward him.

Time hadn't been the only thing cruel to Isabella. But for now, she wouldn't make Yuu fret more than he probably already was and thus she kept silent on what had been going on the past several days. A proud smile crossed her face as she watched the staff form into glasses. "Mmm, good. Seems you've been able to find some power in here. It's a good sign." And then he handed her a pair of the same glasses that he was wearing. An uncertain frown crossed her face as she held them in front of her face a few times, inwardly groaning in her head.

But .. if they really would let her stay in her human form ... she swallowed her pride and put them on.

"Hm ... I suppose they're not the worst." she mused softly, looking at herself using the reflection coming off of Yuu's own spectacles. "But it does feel ... odd." she finally admitted, shrugging it off for now as her smile returned.

A soft sigh passed her lips as the kiss to her forehead connected. "... Where do we go then? And ... well .... won't it be obvious I didn't originally come here? So ... how does that part work? Blending in with the others I mean?"

Surely no one was that stupid. They might be humans, yes. But Judai Yuki had technically been one, save the reincarnated part and he wasn't as stupid as many believed. Nor was anyone associated with him. She had slowly learned to never underestimate anyone, regardless of race, alliance, or anything. She'd made that mistake once with the spellcasters. Isabella wouldn't do so again, not so easily.

Tohru blinked hearing that his new found friend was actually a spirit from another world. He didn't even start to really comprehend what that meant until pain shot through his body. He felt like his lungs were set on fire, and the more he breathed the more he had a problem processing that information. He let out a pained gasp of sorts, and finally got back onto his feet, one hand lightly holding his chest as he felt like he was still on fire.

There wasn't fear in his eyes, but rather anger. How was he feeling? He almost wanted to laugh at the concern he heard comming from her. What did she care exactly? "You tried to kill me that's what happened!" He said harshly. It was true he hadn't stopped the duel either, rather he had hardly even known what was going on from the first time he had lost some life points down to the last he had been confused, and in the dark about the entire situation. However given now the new information. That Esyel was actually some kind of spirit it seemed clear as day to what actually happened.

"You attacked me during our duel, you wounded me, you wanted nothing more then to kill me. I saw the anger in your eyes during the duel." Honestly from the moment he had first touched her cards he had felt nothing but an odd desire of anger and rage. Now however that influince was gone, but he was still lashing out due to the pain that clouded his judgement. "Your a monster, your not even human!"

"The term only started today, you can be a late start. As for obvious, these humans hardly think of anything as obvious." He said walking with his love in arm, leading her back into the halls. "All we need to do is get you into a school uniform, and no one will even care." He said wondering which color he could give her. There were too many blue's who would want too keep an eye on him now with Akane running around, and the Red dorm had the fairy girl Esyel

Looking at her dark hair, and light blue eyes, he smiled. "Come on we will get you dressed up, you'll look good in yellow." His voice was soft and sweet. She would become his eyes and ears in the yellow dorm for the moment. They were close, and really given that he only needed one or two more days to enact the full scale plan and rip apart these two worlds, she wouldn't be under suspicion for very long.

He smiled guiding her towards the administrations office where he could get her a new female uniform. "Humans are selfish introverted, they don't care about what's around them, they will look at you and think you are a distant transfer student. If someone asks you what school your from, just say you came here from Duel acadamy north, and nod your head if they ask any additional questions... worked for me when i came here last year."

That same temptation Esyel had been trying desperately to ignore finally became something she couldn't fight against anymore. The tears that had wanted to form did so and then finally streamed down her face. Her head shook frantically from side to side. "No ... no, that wasn't me. Tohru, please! If that was, I wouldn't have been able to heal you at all. I don't know where that energy came from. Please though, it wasn't me. I'd never ... I have no reason .... "

Each hurtful set of words made the tears stream down her face quicker. Despite that, she didn't budge from Tohru's side or even turn away to abandon him. The words stung but she knew it would have been much worse if she acted like this was her fault. That being said, turning her back on him would be one of the worst things for Esyel to do. Her teeth gripped her lower lip again as she watched him writhe in pain.

Why? I thought I got rid of it all?

" ... Let me help you." She half-pleaded and half-ordered. Her hands gently guided Tohru onto the bed and helped him lie down on his back again. After thinking it quickly over, maybe she had just gotten rid of enough to heal him, which suggested there was probably a bit more of the dark energy still inside. If she could extract it, maybe that would be enough proof for him to see she wasn't just spouting out words, that she was being honest. Her hands rested on his chest as she began trying to remove the remaining dark power still lingering within Tohru.

"Oh?" Isabella smiled, looping her own arm through his. As much as she'd love to do more, something told her now wasn't the time. "You've got good timing as usual I see. Well ... alright then. I suppose if today's just the first day, it shouldn't be too bad." There were still a few concerns going through her head. But overall, she felt much more confident about how things were going than any other fearful or negative emotion. An eyebrow raised slightly upon hearing the word 'yellow'. Was he serious? Yellow of all colors?

Blue hues glanced down at herself, as if trying to imagine a yellow suit on herself. Needless to say, it made her inwardly cringe then scoff. "Hm ... I suppose. Blue seems a bit more ... natural. But you have been here longer. I'll take your word on it." It was clear that she was still a bit uncertain. But Isabella wasn't otherwise going to argue against Yuu on the matter.

As he began to instruct for her what to say, she couldn't help but chuckle. "... They're that simple? Goodness. Well .. if that's how they work, alright. I can do that then." So how was Judai better? Perhaps because he wasn't just a mere human. It was the only thing she could think of. After reassuring herself repeatedly, a soft sigh of relief passed her lips. She raised a hand and slowly knocked as they arrived in front of the administrations door.

Hopefully this would indeed go as well as Yuu believed.

Tohru resisted and struggled against, her for a moment He didn't want her help, he wanted to leave. The more he resisted agaisnt her however the more he was starting too see that there was only one way out of this situation. And in a moment of rage his hand moved forward, not a slap, but rather a full born punch was thrown right into Esyel's face, his feet sliding across the tile floor as he brought the heavy fist forward and rammed his knuckles against the side of her face.

Tohru breathed for a moment as he was freed from her grasp, and pulled away from her. He looked angry, his red eyes glared down at the girl as he turned and walked away. "Stay away from me you bitch." He said finally as he walked down the hallway. His head was rolling, it felt like he was in pain, and yet his mind couldn't be thinking more clearly. What ever Esyel was it wasn't natural, so it was rather clear that she wasn't the person he could trust under any circumstance.

There was no doubt in Tohru's mind that he was angry at Esyel, but it wasn't just her. Akane had been standing right next to him and done nothing to help him. Whats more he had this odd feeling that he couldn't trust his sister. For now he just wanted to be alone. His fist stung with how hard he had Esyel, There was a light ringing in his ears as well that he couldn't shake off. He lightly rubbed his hand which felt like it had a case of pins and needles on it.

As Tohru walked past the doctor, they blinked thinking for a moment that it was rare too see any student up and out of bed so soon, getting up he supposed he had to check on Esyel as well, but first pulling out a PDA he sent a message to Akane to inform her that her little brother had just left the infirmary on his own two legs, and will. Walking to the door where the student beds were held he was rather slow in opening the door.

Elsewhere Yuu handed her a set clothing for the female yellow dorms. He smiled expectantly, there was no doubt she would be good enough to put in blue, but there were already too many risks with the blue dorms as it was. Yellow was safer. "I'm not doing this to insult your skill my dear, rather the opisate, I'm giving you yellow so you can rule that dorm, and thus help me even more then you would if I gave you a blue uniform." He said lightly giving her a smile and a nod.

Walking down the hall, he pointed to a washroom where she could get dressed. The unfortunate thing about using the glasses rather then simply casting an illusion was that the clothing they wore couldn't simply be changed with a spell, rather they had to manually change their clothing from the usual robes they had worn on the other side to these school uniforms. Somewhere tucked away in Yuu's closet was the most accurate dark magician cos-play a student would have ever seen.

Yuu handed her his school bag. "You can put your other clothing in here, and then I will find you a room you can stay in." He said happily. For now he actually was just happy that he had his lover back on this side. Now his plans could continue on ahead without worrying about her.

As Tohru's hand raised, Esyel didn't bother moving. She had indeed expected a slap. So when it became an actual punch, she winced as quite a bit of wind got knocked out of her. Her eyes quickly blinked to keep from staying in double vision for too long. Struggled gasps and pants left her lips as she looked at Tohru while still against the wall. Had that really just happened? The agony she was feeling in her midsection plus a slow but steady trail of blood from her lower lip said yes. What had happened? This was not the same Tohru she'd known and felt herself beginning to like. This had to be connected to the negative energy. It was what her gut was saying along with things akin to 'Ow, fuck! That hurt!'.

And as much as Esyel wanted to ignore everything she was feeling, the task was easier said than done. A hand shakily reached out as if trying to grab a hand or arm from Tohru while he was far away from her.

"W-wait .... Tohru .... "

That was all she got before he left. A new concern in the form of the doctor managed to register. Even if he'd seen her true form, maybe he'd think it had been an illusion or something. Hopefully. Esyel forced herself to appear back into her school uniform, the wings, robe, and shawl all quickly disappearing due to exhaustion and the lack of focus on healing Tohru. Tear-stained blue eyes looked slowly up to the doctor. "Are you really just going to let him walk out?" She finally asked.

By the time Akane's PDA had beeped, the class just ended. She was glad, honestly. It had become incredibly difficult to take notes. And suddenly, it just got more difficult to do so. Quickly placing everything in her back, she got up to her feet and ran out the door. "He what?!" she hissed angrily, a bit of confusion in her voice. This was not the Tohru she knew. What in the hell possessed him to do such a stupid thing? But she forced herself to calm down as an easy way of being able to locate him came to her mind.

After taking a deep breath, Akane closed her eyes and began to focus. She didn't like having to resort to this. But it'd be the fastest way. Her mind began connecting with her brother's as she listened to his thoughts, trying to hear what was racing through his mind. Something about where he was trying to go had to be there. He'd never been incredible at hiding his emotions or thoughts too well. While those cards Yuu had made her give Esyel were clearly dark, that was all she'd sensed. Unless she missed something. Otherwise, the task of finding him should be simple enough.

"Actually, I don't think you're doubting my skill, love. I'm questioning if this will really look good. But if you're sure of this ... alright." Before heading into the changing room, however, Isabella snuck a quick but passionate kiss onto Yuu's lips. A teasing smirk would be one of the last things he'd see on her face before she vanished inside, purposely letting her hips sway a bit even.

Of course, it was only for him. She'd never dare let anyone else purposely have such a show. But from what she remembered noticing, no one else had been around. Even if they had .. what was the worst they'd do? Scold them? She doubted it would be something worth getting expelled over.

In a matter of moments, Isabella walked out with her old outfit held in her hands, now clad in the yellow uniform and a very uncertain half-smile, half-frown. "Ohhh .... lord. I hope you're right about this." she murmured, sighing softly as she put the other cloth away in his backpack. Even with her spirit form, this outfit didn't feel like it matched at all. But Yuu sounded like he had a plan. She'd do any and everything in her power to assist him out. Her main regret was that he was probably right and thus it meant her enduring having to wear this ... outfit.

"Are these always so short, love?" She asked, tugging a bit at the mini-skirt. "I .... feel .... rather exposed and sleazy. I hope the men here don't try to do any foolish actions against women."

The doctor turned back seeing his mistake of simply letting the other student walk away however by that point there was nothing that could be done about it. Taking a look at Esyel and the fact that the girl had apparently been punched, he frowned slightly. "Do you need an ice pack?" He said going to a fridge and pulling one out, pretty much pushing it into Esyel's hands and then setting her off out the door as well.

At the same time Esyel's PDA rang out with an email being sent by Akiyama. When you get better I will be in the lybrary come and find me, I think there is a lot we should talk about. Akiyama had spent the last hour or so doing research on just about anything, and it was only in an old leather book that he found any real answers. He didn't even know where the thing came from, rather it was just hidden among the other books. It seemed to be a journal of a proffessor or old student who attended the school, and talked about a lot of things however mostly it prosided over duel alchemy, and older spirit magic, most of it read like the rantings of a crazy person but considering everything else that had gone down, he was about ready to believe a crazy persons journal. He certainly had enough secondary evidence to back it up.

Tohru was another matter, his mind was unfocused, angry, vengful, but there was certainly nothing protecting him. There were a few things he wanted at the moment, however there were a number of problems he was facing. The red uniform was one of them, however, there was also the fact that when he woke up he hadn't seen his deck anywhere. His duel disk had shut down when he had lost conciousness and the locks that would have normally held his deck had also vanished. that only meant one thing.

Tohru walked back to the arena where he had lost, however at least two hours had passed since his first primary match, and not only was the place no longer in use, but the deck that had spilled all over the ground was gone. There was nothing here, and the cards he had worked so hard to collect were all gone. The rage he had felt before returned, this time however they were not the only feelings he had. his stomach felt like the had a pit inside of it. There was also the fact that while his body had been healed, externally he was still in pain. His head felt like it was ringing, like he had just gone 30 rounds with a boxer, and now to add onto everything his deck was gone. There was a moment of pain that he just didn't understand how to process.

On the other side of the school Yuu couldn't help but smile seeing the usually well covered Isabella walk around in a short miniskirt and uniform top that left little to his imagination it had been a long time since he had seen her body, but he never would have dreamed he would actually get to see her in such a short miniskirt. He smiled happily hearing her protests against the rather exposing clothing.

"It is not the men you have to worry about here." He said walking a little closer to her, and with a simple hand jesture he created a strong updrafting wind through the room so that she would have to guard her skirt. "The elements are much more wild then the students." He said giving a broad grin, loving the fact that the students had to wear summer uniforms on this tropical island, for once the human world was worth something even if the actions he was taking were very selfish.

"If you feel exposed then there is nothing to really worry about, after all, all of the female students have to wear that kind of attire around here. Personally I find it rather attractive, and I was right of course. You do look stunning in yellow." He said noticing how the yellow clothing helped to accent her darker features, adding a bit of color to her long black hair, and dark blue eyes. In truth it helped her flesh seem a little more pale as well. He smiled lightly, showing his kinder more affectionate side towards her, but then felt a small disturbance as the two he had injured were waking up.

"It seems we have a small appointment we need to keep." Yuu said said holding out his hand. "I hope you don't mind, but the plot is about to thicken, I'd rather not miss a good show."

While Esyel took the ice pack, she refused to be guided out the door. If anything, she directed herself to her bed with a pair of very shaky legs. "Don't be ridiculous," she murmured, clearly annoyed. "I know I'm not going to get very far like this. I'll wait until walking isn't as much of an issue, thanks." With that, her head fell against the pillow behind her. For a few moments, her tear stained blue eyes glanced up in silence, not caring if the idiotic doctor remained or not. Really though, why had he just let Tohru walk out?!

The man should be fired ...

Normally, Esyel would restrain herself from saying or thinking such things. But no sane doctor would have really let that just happen, not when they weren't officially dismissed. Wasn't that how it was supposed to go? The seraphim didn't get much time to think before her PDA rang. As she found the source from the device, she then found a message from Akiyama. She quietly read it over and over a few times before sending her own reply.

Akiyama,
I .. need to tell you a few things myself. Tohru walked out and is .. not himself for one. But also, two, I ... am not exactly what I seem. And with having used up so much energy to heal Tohru, getting up isn't going to be an option for a while. If you don't want to wait, I wouldn't mind using the infirmary. The doctors aren't paying attention given they allowed Tohru to walk out. -.- Idiots. Anyway, I'll see you, be it sooner or later.

-Esyel

Another small sigh left Esyel's lips. As far as she could guess, walking would be out of the equation for most of the rest of the day. The only other way she could go to Akiyama now was by transforming enough so that at least two of the six wings were revealed. But .. no. If anyone else was going to know that vital piece of information, she couldn't be reckless on who found out. For all she knew, Tohru may have already started telling others in his fit of rage about her. True, most probably wouldn't believe him. But what about those who would? It was possibilities from the latter which made her stay silent and make certain to be careful about this.

Akane walked around as Tohru did, feeling him seem unsure of where to go at first. Finally, he seemed to decide on a destination himself; the Duel Stadium. Well ... she supposed she'd find out the answer she'd asked Yuu earlier. Akane ran into the arena, panting slightly. Her eyes looked over at Tohru in a mix of annoyance and concern.

".. O..oi! What do ... you think ... you're doing dismissing youself from the infirmary?! You know how foolish that is?!" And yet, there were no signs of any visible wounds. If anything those had seemed to vanish ... as did his deck. The latter made her shake in anger. Had this been something Yuu had known about but purposely failed to mention? Slowly, those three words were becoming less .. believable.

"It wasn't me."

Those had felt random and very out of place. This really had been what he meant, hadn't it? Akane forced herself to take a deep breath before finally advancing toward her brother. "... I'm sorry about your deck. I can help you figure something out. But ... come on. There's no point staying here anymore."

A small gasp of shock left Isabella's lips as her hands did indeed move down and keep half of the skirt from flipping up. She let the gesture dawn upon her before a sly smirk crossed her face. "... I see. So, any other tricks I should know of, hm?" she inquired, straightening the skirt out as the wind finally died down.

Her mouth had opened to protest more on the choice of attire but she halted as he went on to compliment her. Tinges of crimson coated her cheeks as she smiled. "I .. still don't know on yellow much. But ... well .... thank you." It was difficult to avoid making out with him then and there to more propely thank Yuu. But Isabella knew he was right. They needed to get to an appointment. A fake pout entered her voice as a simple, "Awww," left. Despite her reply though, she nodded and began to walk alongside Yuu, following his lead.

"Very well, then. Ready when you are, love."

From the time that Akiyama received the message to the time he made it into the door of the infermery only a hand full of minutes had passed. The man was wheezing slightly between breaths, and in all actuality it felt very hard to breath. He had ran from the moment that he got the message and getting into the infirmary. It was actually rather disturbing to hear that Tohru had up and left the infermary, and he passed a glare towards the doctor, as he walked towards the bed where Esyel was.

He was still holding the old leather bound journal, and as he walked up to where Esyel was laying down he could see that there was certainly a lot they could talk about. For the first part there was the fact that she had been punched in the face, that was new. When she had told him that Tohru had left the infermary he had assumed it had been under better circumstances then it clearly was. He let out a long sigh, unsure of what to really say at that moment in time. However he did give a slow nod as he sat down next too her.

"What do you mean your not as you seem?" He said lightly as he held his PDA to the side of him. There were a number of questions that seemed to mean, and while he could have assumed that it was something to do with the fact that the two of them had wound up being injured in a duel his mind, as it often did went into a much stranger position then the truth. Rather it leaped a few bounds in logic and went for the strange answer. "Are you.... actually a man?"

Tohru set a dark glare towards his sister. Walking to where his deck would have been, she had stood by his side, and yet done nothing to prevent his injury. It was hard to even think of her as anything but abusive. She always tried to act so nice to everyone, and yet she had gone off to duel acadamy and left him alone for more then a year. In a world where they only ever had each other this was a fate more then cruel, and yet here she was again, some how she always managed to track him down.

"Go somewhere with you? No not this time." He turned towards Akane, his eyes more angry now. "Your a liar you know that? I've never been able to tell why, but what you say and do, are so different. You assure me that I am precious to you, call me Ototo, but then when I actually need you. You fuck off to this island."

There was a hiss in Tohru's voice that seemed almost unnatural. "Then when I need you, and I'm hurt right in front of you. You let my deck get stolen. Why would that be Akane-chan? Oh I know maybe because... You want to send me off of this rock? No deck so it's not like I can compete anymore right?" He wanted to hurt Akane, but for some reason his body wouldn't move the same way it would to actually hit her. Rather this time it only seemed to allow him to use his words. "Well we both know the reason behind that. I live in your shadow, eclipsed by my great onee-chan, but you... You are humiliated by me. For someone of your skill to be placed in the same boat as a cluts like me, it would only bring your reputation down."

Yuu was standing outside of the arena now with Isabella. He smiled as she asked if he knew any other tricks, oh he did, but he would save those for special occasions. "All you need to know is that our magic works on this side, it's just... a little more tiring to use." He said lightly. He could hear Tohru's voice through the door, and let out a long sigh. If he went in now then the surprise for Akane that he had worked so hard on would be destroyed however if he did.

"This kind of strife isn't something you can pay to see these days my love." He said lightly. He had worked hard at setting up this little encounter, however there was the problem that the boy didn't have his deck. It was a shame, but there were other ways to settle this then a duel. For now however he just wanted to hear how this would play out, and chose a path of non interference. "When the boy comes out, I would like you to attract his attention, and give him this."

As he spoke he pulled out a card box and handed it to Isabella. "Tell him you saw the duel earlier and found his cards on the ground. From there he will put them to good use." He said happily. while at the same time lightly turning the corner so that he was certain Akane wouldn't see him if she ended up leaving before Tohru.

For a minute if not more, Esyel had continued to stare at the ceiling. As the sound of footsteps caught her ears in the halls, however, her gaze went to the door. Thankfully, Akiyama had decided to come to her. It was selfish thing, yes. But she was still glad this had happened. Her hands tried to push herself up only for Esyel to fall back onto a bed. She gave him a weak wave. "Hey. Sorry .. you had to see me like this. Ngh." Furthermore, she easily noted that the same doctor who had been in the room earlier must have left; another relief. If he wasn't going to try to do his job, it seemed wrong to Esyel that he should even remain at all. Plus it would have been awkward if Akiyama or anyone tied to ask why only one of the two patients was still in the infirmary. Ah well. Hopefully, he'd be dealt with appropriately.

A weak giggle left as she heard Akiyama's question. "Not quite, no. But the guess is correct to a degree. That is what I mean when I say I'm not all I seem. However, gender isn't the difference." After briefly gauging how much energy she had and could use without making herself pass out, she nodded to herself. Her eyes closed as all of her wings appeared. She let the image remain long enough that he would know for damn sure it was real and not an illusion. Once enough time had been given, Esyel let them fade away back again, panting heavily from all she'd used on Tohru.

"I .. had thought I kinda ... hinted this .... in my message to you. But ... I'm ... like Judai; a ... a reincarnated .... Duel Spirit." The part about her using up energy to heal Tohru must have been something he didn't focus on. Though to be fair, if places were switched, she probably would focus more on the news of someone dismissing themselves from the infirmary than any hints of a person being not-as-human as they actually were. "I am here to learn. However, I can't say that's my only assignment. That rumor about students being taken by spirits ... how long has that been going on?"

Akane blinked, no doubt taken aback by the choice of words. This ... was her brother? Only in appearance. That personality though? Fuck no. This was like talking to herself if she had somehow become a guy. Her eyes narrowed as she took a step forward, closing the distance between them. Unlike Esyel, she wouldn't break down and cry as easily. If anything, his words fueled her own wrath on. And when the time was right, her hand raised, landed on his cheek, and then gripped the front of his uniform. Her hand gripped it firmly, making certain Tohru understood she wouldn't let him storm off so easily.

"You listen up, you ungrateful little brat! First off, I do care about you! If I wanted you off the island ... rest assured. I could have screwed up your application somehow before you took one step onto that damn ferry. But you're here, aren't you?! So fuck that assumption! As for your deck .. I really fucking am sorry for that! But between your life and your cards, isn't the choice obvious?! What kind of sister would I be to let you die?! I did intend on coming here myself. I did not, however, expect anyone to be stupid enough to steal it. I really am sorry about that. If I were humiliated by you, I could have kicked you out the day mom and dad died! I didn't have to keep you, raise you! But I did! Because I fucking care about you!"

Her hand was shaking in anger but Akane kept her hold upon her brother's outfit. "Now then. Am I going to have to give you another slap to wake you the fuck up, hm? Get a grip; I'm only saying this once. If need be ... I will make you. And I do have my ways." She wouldn't like any of them, especially since it was about as dangerous as the cards she'd given Esyel. But push was starting to come to shove, perhaps almost literally if it had to be done.

The yelling made Isabella wince. "Goodness. Are they all this loud too?" she asked, gently massaging her ears. An amused chuckle soon left her lips as she added. "Well, it's definitely not a dull first day for sure." Her hands gently held the deck. It hadn't been until she realized Yuu had been silent because he literally left her alone. "... Huh?! ... But ..!!"

Gods, what was she supposed to do after this?! It made her a bit uneasy. Hopefully neither the boy or girl had paid too much attention to the Ra students. Otherwise, they'd know her excuse of picking up his deck after the duel was a lie.

Akiyama blinked, his eyes not sure of what he had just witnessed. by the end of it he was sure of two things, 1, Esyel was most certainly a female in gender. That was the most important discovery, and also by far the most important. Two however was much harder to wrap his head around. Duel spirits, and magic were two things he had only ever thought of in the context of stories, certainly he had never imagined he could be confronted by such a creature, the facts here were amazing and life redifiining. He frowned slightly when she asked about the rumors of the students who disapeared and the thought of duel spirits.

"If your here, then I guess that proves those stories." Akiyama spoke in a slightly more dire tone then he ever wanted to use. There was no doubt in his mind that this was a bad omen, but also there was a larger problem in the long run. He had always kind of assumed that if those rumors were truth, then all the duel spirits were enemies, if she was here did that mean there was some kind of faction system. Either way he was sitting on information that he didn't know how to trade.

"It started last year, twelve students were targeted in all, the entire student body had to go out and search when the first child vanished. We spent the entire night out looking for him, classes were even cancled the next day to have emergency meetings. When the second kid vanished without a trace we could tell that the faculty were freaking out, but by the time the fifth person disappeared we were told to drop it, curfews were placed, and we were only told that there had been a mistake, the previous students hadn't vanished they had just transferred." Akiyama let out a long sigh as he sat down at the foot of Esyel's bed. "By the end of it we were told not to even talk about it. Looking back it's pretty obvious what happened, but I remember hearing the rumors around the time of the third victim. There were a lot of theories though. Duel spirits abducting students to feed on their life energy, underground sex cult, crazed axe wielding murderer living in the forest, they were all the kinds of stories you would tell around a camp fire. But I guess since you exist it's pretty obvious to figure out what the hell happened now."

Tohru was a little shocked to feel his sister slap him. It wasn't however the last thing he expected from his sister, especially when he was dealing with her more violently then usual. However this time he wasn't about to back down. He wanted to hurt his sister as badly as she hurt him during that year of isolation. Now more then ever something was driving him on to say things as bad about her as he could, and as she held him he smiled He could feel her wrath, and while he couldn't read her mind, he snickered lightly knowing what she was probably thinking.

"lets talk about that for a moment, the day mom and dad died. You know I'm not a complete idiot. so why don't you say what actually happened that day?" This time Tohru's face contorted slightly into a dark smile. She had always said it was an accident, but Tohru had always felt like she had been lying to him. What Tohru lacked in mental powers he had always had a sixth sense for what people were feeling. "Why have you been lying to me?"

Yuu was standing to the side watching and listening to everything that was happening, but hiding from the chance of Akane walking outside and seeing him. He had put enough stress on that girl without coming out and directly saying she chose the wrong side. Though by now it was hard to avoid, too much was going wrong for the poor girl. However this entire situation made him force to stifle his laughter. Watching Isabella's confused look even though he was just behind a wall, was rather amusing. He guessed he couldn't help it even if he did genuinely love the person who was having problems. It was in his nature to find it all a little amusing.

As Akiyama went on to explain the supposed stories of the students who went vanishing last year, a frown crossed on her own face. "So ... are you saying they were literally taken into the Spirit World?" It was mainly for clarification. But more than that, how had she not heard about this? The news of twelve human teenagers would have been something the angels would definitely have told her about. Unless .. it'd been kept hidden somehow? This began to bother her as much as it did Akiyama. She gave a small nod, letting her head fall upon the pillow again.

"I .. was originally sent here to ensure no other Duel Spirits slipped through. If they are, I need to take in account which ones and report it back. But now, there seems to be more I need to look for. Don't feel like it's your fault," she quickly added, managing a weak smile. "It's just .. how my duties work out more often than not. But ... hm. I'm glad to have found answers out fast. I can't say, however, I was expecting them this quickly."

After remaining silent for a bit longer, she finally let out a soft sigh and asked, "So .. what now? How do we go about things? We have the possibility of other Spirits besides me being here, Tohru .. so much ... " Even though her tears had mostly halted, Esyel's face hinted she had definitely been crying before Akiyama arrived. And if the tear-stained face didn't say enough, the sound of her voice threatening to crack and produce a new set of sobs upon forcing the name 'Tohru' to leave her lips would.

As Tohru mentioned the day their parents died, Akane went quiet. She wouldn't begin to deny just how furious she was, oh gods no. But she had to stop and think for a moment. This interrogation technique wouldn't get either of them, herself especially, anywhere. This new attitude and mindset truly did bother the psychic duelist, very much so in fact. But if she really wanted to save him, Akane knew this was by far one of the worst ways to try to start doing so. After thinking it over, she finally nodded - mainly to herself - and released her brother.

"When you can adjust your attitude, come and challenge me to a duel. If you can beat me, I'll tell you the truth. Right now, though, you deserve nothing but another slap. However .... you are my brother still. I won't inflict anymore unnecessary pain than what you've already been through. You have your PDA and ways to get a hold of me. I'll be waiting for you."

And with that, Akane dared to walk out of the Stadium, turning and walking past Isabella. As she did, an eyebrow raised. That girl had the same aura as Yuu. She may look normal .. but after her 'superior' revealed his true identity to her, Akane refused to be fooled os easily. She had been ready to go to the next class. Thankfully, there was a break for a long while anyway. And while that was ongoing, she would take her next step and speak to Akiyama.

A quick mental scan showed he was in the infirmary ... with Esyel. That made her sigh softly. This would be doubly awkward. Ah well. Too many things were going wrong for her to keep being silent. With each unfortunate event that happened, Akane felt her faith in Yuu dwindling further. By now, she'd all but finished digging his grave and was ready to push him into it. If he wanted to try to drag her in, so be it. It would be grim but poetic justice and karma for her, after all.

Her head quickly shook as she forced the vivid image to leave her head. She had more things to think of. As Akane approached the infirmary, she paused. She first allowed herself to take a long, deep breath before opening the door and walking inside. "We need to talk. Or rather, I need to shine some light on the situation as it were."

After what felt like forever, the yelling died down and the girl walked away. The sight of Akane's eyes narrowing ... why did they make her feel uneasy? She wanted to turn and run to Yuu first. But she'd promised to do something else first. Taking her own deep breath, she recited her lines in her head quickly before walking into the Stadium.

"Excuse me? I found these after you collapsed. I hope you're feeling better." Before he could argue or inquire, she held out the cards that Yuu had given her and asked for Isabella to give to the boy.

Now to see if he takes them or not, I suppose ..

Her hand remained outstretched, keeping the deck gently but firmly held.

Akiyama blinked it was difficult to understand how weird this situation was. Everything he thought he had understood about the world was just flipped around on it's head, and with Esyel being an actual angel from from another world it was a little more then difficult to comprehend. In truth though it didn't seem to matter in the long run. Esyel had lied about what she was, but she hadn't exactly lied about who she was. She was still the same girl he had met on the boat her persona hadn't changed just her race.

It was however still a lot for his mind to work over. Even more disturbing was the fact that there was more then one of these people walking around. Esyel had strange powers, but was on their side. Akiyama didn't really want to think about what would happen if one of these spirits were actually against the human race. He couldn't help but admit to feeling a little powerless in that situation, and he let out a long sigh. Then there was the mention of Tohru, Akiyama leaned in and grabbed her hand lightly holding her for a moment.

"We will figgure all of this out." He said confidently, however when a new figure entered the room he was a little shocked to see Akane. She looked like she had just been through a blender of emotions, and he quickly offered her a seat beside them. When she said that she had something she needed to reveal he turned towards Akane looking at her long and hard for a moment. "... Let me guess you are actually a man?" If he kept his guess the same every time then eventually he had to be right... right?

Tohru sneered. Deep down something was telling him to shut the fuck up, but that voice was so far burried under the wrath, and darker emotions that not even his sister would have been able to hear it. Tohru was convinced that everyone was lying to him, and he had many reasons to know that was true. Walking out into the hall after hearing his sister demand for a duel, he sneered did she forget that he no longer had a deck to duel with? That would be just like her to forget something like that.

Walking out he was stopped for a moment a young woman, he let out a long sigh until the Ra Yellow handed him back his deck. Oddly enough he didn't feel happy to have his cards back, rather it only seemed to help fuel his anger darker thoughts. Instead of helping him move past them he seemed to gain only more power and fuel for his wanting and revenge. "Thank you." he said rather calmly his mind becoming more clear as to what needed to happen, and twisted around walking away from the girl.

Yuu walked out of the shadows, his arm wrapping around her stomach and his lips pressing into her neck. Enjoying the moment of not only having back his love, but also getting to work on his end goal. He chuckled slightly. "This is going to be getting good soon, but it would seem we have some time. What would you like to do? Should I take you to your dorm or give you a little tour of the human world?"
