Here I’m talking about like, romance that doesn’t necessarily fit the brand of ‘angry tortured dark haired cishet male, older and dominant/gruff with submissive, young, tiny cishet female character’ is something I’ve been pretty tired of reading in fantasy romance especially lately, and I kind of want to branch out from there into different types of pairings (ie older woman/younger man) or media that has LGBTQ couples. Genre wise I really like Fantasy, Historical, Mystery/Thriller, Horror, Literary Fiction and Contemporary mostly
Do you have recommendations for books, films that take a different angle on gender dynamics, power imbalances, things like that? Honestly any smut with dominant women for once, I am so open to reading. I’ve just been completely turned off from the traditionally published erotica scene because it’s the same tropes
