Name: Drake O'Shay
Age: 28
Appearance: Though not particularly tall for an American (roughly 5'7"/170 cm), Drake is stocky and solid from his years working both out in the field and in the lab, where he served as helpful brawn when needed. He has scars on his body from a rock slide in the badlands of Montana.
Specialty/Skills: Paleontology, especially knowledgeable about species from the Mesozoic, though he has knowledge of species from other eras; has a passing interest in the subject of speculative evolution
Other:
  • On loan to the National Museum of Nature and Science from the Journey Museum in South Dakota, and may or may not have broken or bent some rules to be loaned out. His reason for doing so? The work experience, he'll always say, though he'll never admit that part of the reason is because he's a fan of Japanese pop culture and wanted to visit Akihabara.
  • Loves animals, even the ones that don't love him back; that said, he's terrified of insects and arachnids.
  • His father was a paleontologist, working out in the field, and Drake would often visit and even help with small things.

Name: Amanda O'Brien
Age: 23
Appearance: Always wearing suits and heels makes her look taller not that she needs it, she's already just under 6'0. She originally from Glasgow but that doesn't make her soft, when down in England, five years ago, on a business trip, she was one of the eye witnesses who saw the Columbian Mammoth incident whilst not directly hurt, a flying piece of car cat open her back leaving a nasty scar but the incident made her want to work with the team
Speciality/Skills: The skill that Lester values is her crisis management skills, she knows what needs to be done in a crisis and how to direct emergency services to contain the creatures. Also Lester began choosing people with at least a passing knowledge of Paleotology, Amanda checks this box by finding the time after dinosaurs more interesting, when some people go on about Dinosaurs she can't help but yawn.

  • As Lester's assistant she's got big shoes to fill but has already proven capable she can't speak a word of Japanese but on arriving in Japan she proves during the first crisis she can direct people well. Like Jake though she loves Japanese culture and loves the area they're working in, however being Scottish(Her accent is a thick Glaswegian Accent) draws attention from Japanese co workers who want to learn more(And ask stupid questions about why her hair isn't Ginger).
  • Loves all things cute....she can't resist cute animals or cute clothing(She pretends she doesn't but she does).

Name: Ibarazaki Yuna
Age: 21
Appearance: A rather short girl for her age, Yuna is often mistaken for being younger than she actually is. Though not the most athletic, she can still keep up with the others, and at the very least, she can outrun or outmaneuver most predators the team comes in contact with.
Specialty/Skills: Expert in Japanese folklore, knowledgeable in the various conspiracies and urban legends around the country, and may or may not have some contacts around various parts of the dark web.
Other:
  • An eccentric young lady formerly attending Seijo University, she dropped out after she became a laughing stock for a thesis she submitted to her professor that was... controversial. Namely that stories from the past about monsters, spirits, and other strange phenomena were the result of disturbances in the time-space continuum, and creatures that came through.
  • Currently unemployed, making just enough to get by by doing favors for people on the dark web.
  • Often can be found running around looking into sightings of monsters and unusual phenomena.
  • A bit socially awkward, but brilliant when it comes to securing information from the corners of the web.

NAME: Haruno Sora
AGE: 27
APPERANCE; A police woman who's forever youthful appearance and dyed hair get her made fun of at work. She is also half European and is part german thus the blue eyes. She's very athletically fit and has some training with guns and other weapons.
SPECIALITY/SKILLS: Marksmanship, her skill with a rifle, gun or any thing else that shoots is unmatched but her nerves sometimes mess with her abilities. She's also good with animals due to her dad being the head of a canine unit.

Other:
  • She's had several Ibarazaki Yuna in an official capacity
  • Her dad is one of the first Japanese Casualties when the anomaly opens in the police station, her dad is a hero who closed off the Dogs, preventing a predator(Not sure which) from getting to them but couldn't get out before the animal killed him. Thus she's desperate to prevent it happening again and thus lays into both Amanda, Drake and Lester for not figuring out a solution
  • Final fun fact, she has a crush on Amanda but she is bi sexual.

skynews-ben-miller-professor-t_5445645.jpg
Name: James Lester
Age: 51
About:
  • After managing and administrating the UK division of the Anomaly Operations for ten years, whispers through official channels have led him to Japan, where reports of strange events pointed to a rash of Anomalies opening in the country. The first one that came to his attention was a massive, ape-like creature that locals called "Hibagon", which turned out to be a wayward family of Gigantopithecus. The animals were later returned to their time period with no casualties, and witnesses were paid off and legally bound to secrecy.
  • Has been recruiting from government agencies, but he's distinctly aware that this line of work tends to attract... unique individuals.
  • Given his snarky personality, he rubs some people the wrong way.
  • While he's here to set up the branch of Anomaly Operations, it's doubtful he'll stick around.

Autumn had come early. The cool air rustled through the leaves. Nakano Tarou took a deep breath of the evening air. After three long years his book was finally going to be published. It had been a difficult task. Many long, sleepless nights fueled by coffee and instant food, countless rewrites and edits, and one ended relationship later, it was ready to go. To reward himself, Nakano was spending the weekend at a place his family often went to while he was growing up.

Camping at this time of year guaranteed that there would be less people. Not like a couple of years ago, when a new show had inspired lots of its fans to take up camping in autumn and winter. Nakano was glad he'd been busy then, even if it was because he'd been working at a soul-crushing office job. He stopped to watch the sunset. This was his time, and nothing would stop him from enjoying the next three days.

Nakano made his way back to the campsite, gathering firewood along the way. His thoughts drifted to Yuriko. She'd been so supportive of his goal at first. But as time went on her heart began to wander. Yuriko had come to him and told him everything: she'd fallen in love with someone else, someone who wasn't constantly busy; it might have helped that he was generous with gifts as well. It hadn't been messy, but thinking about it left a bitter taste in Nakano's mouth.

He suddenly noticed that something was off. It was quiet.

No birds, no insects, no animals. They'd all fallen silent. The only sound was the wind in the trees. It made Nakano feel uneasy.

He increased his pace. It's probably my imagination. I'm letting my mind get to me, and--

A twig snapped somewhere to his right. Maybe twenty meters away. Nakano's hand went to the hatchet on his belt. Sure, it was mostly used for firewood and other utilities, but it was better than nothing.

A rustle of leaves to his left, somewhere behind him. Closer this time. Nakano held the hatchet at the ready. It was possible that a bear was out and about before settling down to hibernate, but the idea hadn't occurred to him. He raised his voice. "Hey, bear! Hey, bear!" The lessons he'd been taught were about to be put to use.

The wind was knocked out of Nakano by a blow from behind. He hit the ground hard, and Nakano briefly saw stars. Something was standing on his back, and he could hear and feel the creature breathing on his neck. Nakano barely had time to feel a sense of terror as a pair of powerful jaws crushed his skull.

Drake had some time before he had to clock in. Fifteen minutes, give or take. He sipped his coffee as he made his way through the Global Gallery's Exploring the Mysteries of Dinosaur Evolution exhibit. The layout was growing familiar now. The fossilized bones posed to catch the attention and imagination of guests made Drake's mind wander. In life, what had they looked like? What had they sounded like? How did they run, how did they hunt, how did they survive? Movies were one thing, but seeing an accurate dinosaur on-screen was exceedingly rare.

He took another sip of his coffee as he made his way to one of the museum's mightiest residents: a cast of a Tyrannosaurus known as Bucky. Though the dinosaur hadn't been fully grown at death, it was still an impressive sight. Over eleven meters in length and three meters at the hip, he was an imposing specimen. Though this example was a cast of the original skeleton, it was still a sight to behold. His cell phone rang, snapping Drake out of his trance. He checked the caller ID, which read "Suzuki," one of the interns that Drake had grown chummy with.

"Hai."

"O'Shay, I've got someone on the line. Says she wants to talk to someone about something important. Won't give many details, though."

"She say who she was? With another museum or something?"

"No. She claims to be an independent researcher. Says she found something that could be big news."

"So she asked for me?" Drake asked. He took another sip of his coffee.

"No, she asked for anyone," Suzuki replied. "Even if that person was, and I quote, 'The maniac of the bunch'."

Drake chuckled. "So you turned to me first."

"More or less. I know about your... eccentricities."

"Hey, I heard those air quotes."

Suzuki laughed. "Want me to give her your work number?"

"Yeah. At worst I waste a half hour with someone saying they saw a monster in a lake."

"Got it. I'll give her the relevant information."

"Thanks, Suzuki. Have a good day." Drake hung up, downed the rest of his coffee, and headed towards the stairs.

Lester tapped his fingers on his desk. For the past few hours he'd been pouring over files, and he was less than amused. The team that had tracked down the creatures in the Hibagon Incident, as many in the office called it, were skilled enough to return large, powerful animals to their home time with minimal casualties, but they wouldn't be enough. Given his experience, they would need experts. Biology, paleontology, engineering and technology... it was all so bothersome.

And no doubt, each one would give him at least one headache. This line of work tended to attract the strangest sorts. For all he knew, he'd have to hire someone who made money wrestling crocodiles for a living. Lester hit the intercom connected to the desk outside his office. "Miss O'Brien, would you please be so kind as to get me another cup of coffee?" he asked. Lester looked out the window. "Also... how do you feel about a little field trip today? We need experts for this line of work, so I think it's about time we find some."
