How excited do you get reading and writing erotica?

I'm sure that for every person is different, specially if the involvement is personal or not, if reading or writing, but I'm curious about the impact of the fiction on the excitement of people. The hobby has many points of interest, be it a creative writing one, wish fulfillment, assuming a different role, pornographic interest... I guess that it can be different things for different people, some will focus on one thing, others will be into it for many equal reasons, just a couple of them.

What I was wondering is how... well, horny you get with this medium in general. Reading ritten erotica in the usual long form, solo writing format really gets me going. If done correctly the story improves the smut, and the smut adds spice to the story, both of them working together. I really love it since it can be the home of stories that you don't see often represented, both from a plot and character standpoint but specially from an erotica point of view. After all, most porn tends to be both plotless and terribly repetitive.

Writing it has a peculiar effect on me, though. I don't get excited as in "I must AFK now to tend to my business", but as writing action scenes makes me feel lively and writing dramatic scenes makes me teary eyed for example (yes, I know, I'm a softie), writing erotic scenes gets me noticeably wet. Not anything super crazy that prevents me from keep writing, mind you, but there is something there and even if I don't feel the need to masturbate, my body certainly answers to the act of writing smut.

How is it for you?

Well, I tend to get extremely excited through this medium.
But - I'm also someone who is naturally extremely sexual and writing has been my only sexual outlet for... Fuck, years now. It's to a point that I don't have much interest in other forms of sexual things like videos/pics/etc unless it's something special. Writing, however, is one of the most powerful things that can just really get me going.

I especially love erotic role-playing because I never fantasize about myself. Ever. Role-playing is like what the fantasies in my head are, except with the added surprise of someone else's writing.
