Gabriel Rivern, standing in a well lit plaza of Halcyon Station above Corellia, shifted as he felt his lightsaber rested against his left thigh while he watched the miniature holographic battle between some Droid Starfighters and Naboo N-1 Starfighters. He knew that the holograms were controlled by droids locked in a neverending war game. The holographic fighters tended to buzz by the heads of pedestrians as they flew around. Sometimes they would fly so low that they were almost cutting the legs out from people as they sped past. The battle was of Naboo, when the droid command ship was destroyed. The command ship was high above his head at the moment as he rested against an unmodified T-47 airspeeder.

He'd been watching a group of Togruta when the screaming started. Barely ducking a blaster bolt that ricocheted of the glass of the airspeeder, he dove onto the ground and rolled out of the way as guys in phase II Clone trooper armor started spraying and praying with their blaster rifles. He drew his DC-17M and converted it into it's sniper rifle configuration. From what he could tell, the attackers weren't even aiming. They were gonna pay for this.

"What the...." He grunted, noticing a Mirialan about to get shot in the back as he called out to them, "Hey!! Duck now!! You're in the way!!"

He was moving, making his way toward the Mirialan he was screaming at as he fired back at the people attacking the station. It took a second, but thanks to his eagle-like eyesight, he realized these guys were mercenaries. His fire sowed havoc among them, causing several whom he'd gut shot to kill each other before he reached his goal.

"Didn't you hear me?!" He snarled while tackling the Mirialan, whom he realized was female moments before a stray blaster bolt would have taken her head clean off, "I said to get down!!"

Meanwhile, Logan Turoxl was situated in a small bay area not far from the plaza, tools on the nearby table with the white with red markings, rounded-top R4 unit of his not far away. Variety of wrenches were laid out, in addition to assortments upon assortments of cybernetic chips and parts that he had salvaged from past service droid models that were to be put into retirement anyways. The service droid gave a few beeps and whistles towards the working red-head Kuatian, a small chuckle coming from Logan. "Don't worry, I'm just about-"

Logan didn't even finish this when he heard the distinct sound of blaster fire just outside the bay; this wasn't right! Still, that couldn't have been just an accidental discharge, no, for more fire followed afterwards, and he could tell that something was amiss. "Four, get to the ship and get it primed for launch. I won't be far behind, but I'll buy you time, at least." As Logan said this, a whine came from the droid, and he smirked. "Just do it; I'll be fine, trust me. I'm not just a duelist... not any more. The tinkering I did shouldn't have altered anything of significance." As Logan said this, he took the A280 pistol of his, using the customizable variation of the weapon to attach the necessary attachments to turn it into an assault rifle blaster. He flicked the switch that would control the firing mechanism, and set it for burst fire, so three bolts would be unleashed in quick succession from a single pull of the trigger.

Opening the door to the bay, he crouched low and peeked around the corner... retracting just in time to dodge a blaster bolt aimed in his direction. Couldn't have gotten any closer than that, but still, he had to lay down some cover fire; peeking around the corner and aiming down sights, he fired. Even if he didn't hit any targets, if they weren't all that organized of a batallion, it would force them to scatter and attempt to find cover, buying time for anyone that didn't want to be caught up in the crossfire to leave the premises. Keeping a crouched profile, he kept the fire, forcing those clad in the Clone trooper armor to keep their covered position, while he himself could gain some ground to the next point of cover, while R4-I0 was able to find a way out of the combat zone and towards the starship landing bays.

He was able to reach a cover point, durable containers used for transporting objects that can stand up to standard blaster fire, before he would have to give his weapon a moment to cool down... and hear the blaster fire coming from the armor-clad targets once more. If it wasn't for all this blaster fire, he would be in there with his duelist vibrorapier, which was situated on his left hip for easy access, the small-bladed weapon could easily be overlooked by many. It's unfortunate he left his vibroknucklers back on the ship, but it wasn't like he expected things to turn this sour, but even then, melee combat was suicide at this point; after all, Logan was most certainly not a Jedi to make such risky decisions...!

Kara Phal knelt behind a parked delivery carrier at street level, her blaster in her hand as she would peek her purple and white montrals out slightly to detect close movement before exposing more of her head to see what was occurring. Leaning out on her empty hand as her front lekku dangled slightly in front of her chest, Kara began to piece together the situation.

She already knew that behind her were five members of the Tashmal household, Togrutas recently arrived from Shili sentto Corellia to establish a branch of the family business. Kara had been hired to meet and greet these representatives and escort them around what become her latest home planet. Unfortunately, Kara could see the sixth member of the group laying in the street, a slight bit of smoke rising from singed clothing. Kara grit her teeth at the sight of yet another lifeless body made so without any discernable reason.

Kara knew she was a little out of place in her current role of tour guide and fixer. She was of an age, and to be honest much more inclined, to have been settled down with family by now instead of scraping for money making connections and fixing problems. But that was another lifetime ago, one which the white armoured bastards now shooting were part of the entity that took away.

Kara picked up on the return fire being offered by a source near the ship bays that broke up some of the cohesion of the group of troopers. In another scene, someone was drawing attention by making a reckless dash to knock down a green skinned Mirialan, probably saving a life. Kara felt her thinking go in slow motion. "Why would these people be exposing themselves? What was the point of saving some life in a galaxy teeming with it? The atoms would reorganize from death into something new. Any relations would deal with their emotions in time as Kara had done for herself. Stupid kids." Kara thought. Although in such a mental state, Kara could also see an opportunity to give the troopers a taste of their own medicine.

Holstering her blaster and unsheathing her slim knife blade, Kara quickly moved behind an isolated trooper, using all her instinct and experience to be unheard, thus creating a muted sound of surprise as she slid the blade between plates of armour and into the trooper's abdomen. A quick extraction and effortlessly, both physically and mentally, the emotionless Kara slid the knife into his throat through the chinks of armour.

Having committed herself, Kara moved on to a second position, this time putting her dagger through one's eyeplate and quickly pulling her blaster out and dispatching his partner with a point blank shot to the chest. She rolled to the ground at the end of this dual attack and lay behind more debris as she had attracted hot fire from the others. Waiting as she caught her breath to try and make a plan to get out of this, blaster at the ready, her knife left sticking up out of the dead trooper's helmet for all to see, Kara wished she could have planned further in advance.

"Let go of me!" Flora immediately twisted, trying to break free of the encircling arms and fight the expected grapple, fingers scrabbling for the blaster pistol at her hip while her other hand moved to arrest her fall, turning the downwards tumble into a rolling sideways one. In her line of work this wasn't the first time some fool had tried to grab her and it showed as while she did not escape, she did manage to get her blaster free, and she didn't hesitate to aim it at the human's face.

"Let go!" She repeated, eyes darting upwards as a scattering of blasterfire whined through the air overhead, the stench of ionization reaching her nostrils. Her eyes darted left, verifying the presence of cover -not my first shootout then, but who's shooting in the first place?- and then pulled herself away, not moving her blaster from the one who'd seen fit to knock her over.

When he did let her go, she relaxed slightly, pulling herself up against the pillar serving to keep them out of the line of fire and switching her blaster pistol upwards. Her carbine was slung across her back but in the tight quarters of a station even it's relatively low power was potentially dangerous given it's range, not to mention the armor that these guys were wearing may have been old, but it was a sturdy pattern.

She glared at the human, "So you're not with them, and you're not after me. Mind telling me what's going on?"

((Just so everyone knows, Gabriel has no real training using the Force. A lot of force related stuff he does is instinctive.))

"Your guess is about as good as mine." Gabriel said, kneeling next to the Mirialan as he reloaded his DC-17M while converting it into an assault rifle, "However, I'm putting my credits on paid systemic slaughter or genocide."

He saw blaster fire coming from the doorway from the Hanger bay, automatically deciding that that was where he was going. DC-17M brought to his shoulder, he started dropping armored assailants with crisp three shot bursts to the head and chest. Being a Sniper really paid off here as he took out an attacker that was about to shoot at a Togruta that had just ducked behind some debris. More blaster fire came of another direction as an evacuation alarm started up. Well, this was a fucked up trip.

"We need to move, now." He said as he slung his DC-17M across his back as he drew a DC-17 hand blaster from his sidepack and unclipped his lightsaber from his hip, "Stay close to me and don't fall behind."

A purple glow erupted from the meter long silver cylinder in his right hand as he ducked out from behind the cover he shared with the Mirialan as he started deflecting blaster bolts with practiced. He was wasn't a Jedi or Sith by any means, but he was highly sensitive to the Force. It was that sensitivity that made things seem to slow to a crawl. Anything that he felt wasn't a threat he let go, but he did stop anything would hit the Mirialan behind him as he moved toward the Togruta. That coupled with him firing his blaster pistol made him a highly dangerous threat.

"Hey, Come to me!!" He called to the Togruta as he destroyed a merc's blaster rifle with his lightsaber before double tapping him in the chest with his DC-17 hand blaster, "We're getting out of here!!"

While his support fire wasn't the greatest, he was doing everything he could; from the fire side, he could see a few more armored foes. "There's just no end to this..." He mumbled to himself, taking cover once again. He hated to do it, but he rushed over towards one of the downed armored mercs, firing away with his blaster, hitting a couple that came out of cover to try and hit the Togruta with their own fire, though only one of them went down, the other collapsed to a knee, representing a shot taken to their leg that was stunning, but not lethal. However, reaching the fallen corpse, he searched them... and found what appeared to be a pair of sonic detonators as well as some spare blaster ammunition he could probably convert for his own blaster later. The grenades weren't lethal, but definitely had the power to incapacitate if set off close enough to a target, but can cause death if right by them.

Slinging his blaster onto his back, he primed both detonators in his hands with his thumbs. "Get as far away as possible! Fire in the hole!" The first bit was warning the few that were fighting off these armored mercs, though with that in mind, Logan threw both of the detonators towards the center of the new group seeking to replace their already fallen comrades. The fact they were set at about the same time gave more ground these targets would have to gain to get out of blast range, and even then, the prime wasn't even all that long. When they went off, it wasn't as explosive as one would think, but two, nigh simultaneous *THUD!*s were made from them, with a rippling high frequency pitch of sound that would cause anyone within their range, which approximately was roughly ten meters per detonator, to fall over, knocked out cold. Thirty meters may cause anyone within that reach to lose most of their hearing, if not all of it, for a good few hours, to say the least. A good majority of this new crew fell, though one managed to get out... but seemed to be retreating after recovering from the crippling frequency that dazed them.

"They won't be out for long; this is as good an opportunity to get out of here before more reinforcements show up and these ones wake up. Just go!" Logan shouted to the few others he was fighting alongside; the human that held a lightsaber in addition to Clone commando-issue weaponry, the Togruta that seemed to play things on the risky side, and the Mirialan that the human knocked down to help her avoid getting shot by a shot earlier. He didn't do so in a commanding manner; heck, Logan couldn't lead anyone if his life depended on it, only Four listened to him for what mattered. Regardless, Logan chose to watch their six while they would head towards the hanger bays, making sure they wouldn't be followed by anyone in the process. His blaster was held with him looking down sights, making sure to take the shots if he saw any threats, as he followed behind them.

In the hanger, Four already was in the Service Droid position in the red-colored Y-wing craft, the sound of its hum could he expressed that it was ready to take off. It was handy having a service droid as one's companion for situations like this, but Logan wasn't going to abandon who was with him; he felt it was fair he saw their safety through to the end, a sort of oath he made for himself.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

Kara sat with her back against the wall of the shop entry way she had managed to crawl to for cover. Knees up as she braced her arms on them while holding her blaster, she actually laughed at the situation. How does one go from minutes before talking banalities of where to find favourite foods and wake up schedules, to being cornered and likely soon to be arrested and executed by whatever authority would come to clean up this disaster in the streets. Monied interests will not tolerate troublemakers.

Knocking her weapon on her orange coloured forehead to try and get back from her fatalistic edge,Kara was surprised by the small explosions that seemed to quiet the area. Taking advantage of the call to make a run for it, she set her jaw before finding her feet and heading towards the hangers, stopping of course to recover her blade.

She passed close by the human who had called out to get away. She could detect the scent that human males often gave off when energized. Humans. Always giving orders, always pushing for teamwork, blah blah blah. Troublemakers. But they were physically interesting specimens with their well known reproduction fixations and passions of their young adults. "Thanks kid" Kara almost nonchalantly said as she passed him.

However, getting to the hanger wasn't going to solve getting off planet. Kara was a pilot without a ship. But she knew that the group she had been meeting had escorts. Making her way to the bay she had met them at, yes!, there it is, a gold adorned well cared for ywing fighter sitting next to the shuttle it had accompanied. The shuttle. Which would be carrying back a dead body by a group she had abandoned and was about to steal from. Another step further away from who she once was caused a slight pang in her intestines as memories of her young child flashed. A slight shaking of head and reset of jaw before getting into the cockpit.

No astromech droid was available to assist, so this was going to be a little rough, but all crafts had the same basic principles and basic language. Fumbling with controls and she was moving towards the open bay doors. Nosing out in time to see an At-At heading towards their position. Damn it! Punch it leave or punch it stay... A decision to make between throttle and trigger.

But the choice wasn't real as her trigger finger was already pulling back as the HUD focused on the lumbering target and the blue streak of ion was dispatched.

Flora's breath hissed between her teeth as the oddly-shaped cylinder hummed and sprang to life. "A lightsaber?!" Its handle was ridiculously oversized compared to the small and compact weapons she'd heard of but with that blade it as difficult to say that the weapon could really be anything else. "Where in Kessel did you get that thing?" She ducked as a backswing came dangerously close, though not close enough to have struck her, "watch it!"

She took two steps back, giving distance before looking at the bolts coming towards them. On one hand, she was trusting her life to a lunatic Jedi right now and if a single bolt snuck past that defence she was going to be dead in fairly short order. On the other hand, it was a good ten meters to the nearest piece of solid cover, and while the hail of blaster bolts was slackening as 'civilians' returned fire with a hodgepodge of personal blasters. With a grimace Flora unslung her own powered up 'Hunter' carbine and flicked the fire selector to full auto. If this idiot went down, she could duck, roll, and unload her power cell on any enemies to keep their heads down while she sprinted for cover.

As it was, she wasn't stupid enough to try firing past the blur of that purple blade from the other side.

Stupid this Jedi might have been, but he was effective at least... Flora grimaced, there had to be more to this attack than his assessment of it. You didn't just attack a space station to kill everyone aboard, not in this sector of space where everyone and their mothers had their own blasters and fightercraft parked in their backyard. If they'd wanted to kill everyone they should have just snuck in and planted a bomb on the station's core or something, slap a thermal detonator onto the reactor and let it tear itself apart. Invading on foot with guns like this was just idiotic unless...

Unless they either could spare the numbers and didn't particularly care...

Or this was a distraction...

Flora's eyes narrowed. "Any chance we can hurry this up a little? If these people are trying to wipe out the station they either have a lot more blasters somewhere or they're rigging something up to detonate this entire place! Either way I don't want to be here much longer!"

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

It was at the Mirialan's words that he suddenly had an out of body experience. He was looking at the station from outside. A ways off as the station could almost be covered by one of his hands but he noticed flashes along multiple levels. The flashs illuminated four small ships racing away from the station. One outstripped the others as two of the same ship followed the first. The last, the one that seemed to leave a particle trail behind it which allowed him to see it better than the rest, was sent tumbling the Station was torn to pieces with numerous explosions.

He was kneeling when he came back to himself, gasping in a cold sweat as the incoming blaster fire dwindled to almost nothing. He wasn't sure what he'd seen but it didn't take him much to figure out what it meant. Turning as he stood, his brown eyes burned with pure hatred for the people who did this as he took the Mirialan's wrist and ran. He didn't need words to tell her she was right on the money, his cold expression said it for him. An A-wing was parked next to his X-wing, a fact he didn't hesitate to utilize as he stopped next to it and turned to boost the Mirialan up on top of the craft next to the cockpit after deactivating his lightsaber.

"Name's Gabriel!! Get that A-wing fired up and out of here!!" He yelled to her, keeping the hard edge out of his voice as he saw Zechs, his R2-Z0 astromech droid, fire up his X-wing as another astromech fell into the droid slot of the active Y-wing firing it's Ion cannon at an AT-AT in trying to escape, "This station is about to get blown to hell by a shit ton of explosives!!"

He ran to his hovering X-Wing and used a droid crane to vault into the cockpit. His left knee was torqued by his landing and was sprained but he kept going. Zechs let out a bleat, telling him that despite the X-wing's S-foils being closed, the two proton torpedo launchers were prepped and ready to fire. Nodding, he got situated in the command couch as he noticed the guy by the hanger doors. Groaning, he put his DC-17M and DC-17 Hand blasters into his flight bag and tucked them the seat before turning his attention to the guy.

"Yo, Red!! Move unless you want you butt blown to bits!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs as the AT-AT shot at the attacking Y-wing but missed badly during the Ion cannon play hell with the targeting and firing systems, "We don't have a lot of time to be wasting here!!"

The next second was marked by two linked torpedoes from his X-wing streaking mere meters over the top of the active Y-wing, hitting the AT-AT in such a way that it staggered clear of the Y-Wing's take off path. Zechs sent coordinates to the Y-Wing's pilot as the X-wing's canopy closed. He could curse Zechs for taking such a risky shot but it had worked. It was now or never if they were gonna leave.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

When he was certain the others were in the bay, he followed suit himself, heading towards his Y-wing craft; he may have been one of the last ones to actually board the craft situated in the hanger, but... As he was getting things primed to take off, he heard the beeps and whines of Four, as if warning him of imminent danger. Sure enough, the droid was correct, for when he saw that Imperial-class AT-AT walker, in his head, he cursed; of all the places one could be...! "They really are trying to make things difficult... Reminds me of all those walkers that were on Kuat's surface, just patrolling the towns when it was Empire occupied, but such a tale is better left for safety." He mumbled to himself, flicking a couple of switches, letting the Y-wing raise and adjust so it was directed towards the bay entrance, still open, thankfully.

All Logan had to do now as Four directed the ship forward, was aim the cannons towards the walker; fancy they were slow, but had plenty of firepower, and armor so thick that regular blaster fire won't do anything. On top of it, if it wasn't for the fact this place was going to be destroyed and all the other allies around, he'd use the bombs stashed in the Y-wing's cargo. Regardless, he could see that it stumbled after direct impact with proton torpedoes from the X-wing; not crippling, but enough to force it to stagger with the pilots correcting the walk path, or attempt to despite the ion cannon's crippling effects on the electronic equipment.

"Haven't seen this much action, but if you say it's gonna blow, then let's go. I doubt our leaving won't be so easy; bombs and other explosives rigged to destroy the station from the inside, Imperial-class walkers supposed to be retired blocking the hangar bay... There's no telling what awaits us outside; they had to come here somehow, probably in something big to carry these AT-ATs, if my hunches are correct..." Logan hated to bring this up through the shared channel, but regardless, Y-wing bombs, paired with their ion cannons, can bypass the shields of some Victory-class cruisers. Of course... their speed wasn't the greatest because of all the firepower they possess outside of their hyperdrive's activity.

Directing the craft out of the hanger, Logan made sure to keep himself paced with the shuttle that left as well, but his eyes were both ahead of him as he pushed the craft out of the hangar, as well as on his scanners. "Heads' up group, we got company according to my scanners... and lots of it!" He picked up on ship readings that he identified were a ways away, in addition to another, larger reading as well that seemed to be where the smaller ones were coming from.

"Four, I'll pilot the ship... you aim the main guns behind us and use the ion cannons to disable the electronic systems of any craft that appear hostile and come too close. Cover our ally pilots only as necessary, and don't let those hostiles bring any harm to that shuttle! Once we're out of range with hostiles cleared, engage the hyperdrive!" After Logan shifted channels to talk with his droid specifically, he received beeps and whistles as a response, earning a smile from him as the translation through the HUD of his was easily deciphered. Four was an intelligent droid since he repaired it, and been the source of his pride since he got it fully funtional.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

Kara felt the slight jolt from the jet wash of the torpedoes going over her Y-Wing. "What the flying fuck asshole moron!" she screamed into the ether. Another slight sway of the hovering craft and her ears were filled with the god-awful sounds of an astromech droid engaging itself with the bomber and giving her suggestions. "Oh shut the fuck up. god-damn tired of some man always thinking he can tell me what to do." she mumbled in response to the low octave bleeps and blaps. Her hands found comfort on the controls enough to press forward in flight ever so slowly.

Kara knew she should be grateful for the assist in taking out the AT-AT, but she was distinctively too proud to actually admit she needed or received help. Scanning around, she was however not in a rush to leave just yet. The astromech squealed the coordinates supplied by the ..X Wing? the A wing? who knew... "Listen Squeaks! We ain't leaving till I see one more thing!" Kara harshly barked. Her eyes sought out the one person she had thanked, though sarcastically, recently. "where is that sniper wannabe?" she asked herself as she bit her lip.

Barely above ground level, Kara nudged slowly along wanting to be sure her erstwhile troublemaker was off the street. "Compute the jump to those coordinates you got from your boyfriend" Kara ordered the droid. "I just want to be sure that guy is not pinned down because he chose to watch my back. ..unless... unless he was just trying to watch my ass, then he can kiss it too" Kara smirked, loving the feelings inside as the adrenaline and excitement gave her the slight tremor of arousal not felt in many.. was it years now?...

Other craft were emerging from the hanger, scattering away. Kara could see the smoked out plaza where the blaster duel had been going on. Spotting some movement of white clad figures, Kara gave two quick pulls of the trigger while on blaster cannon, sending immediate devestation on the ground position. She could not spot anyone else moving and she could only hold this beast back so long. Slowly Kara took it higher and started to slowly circle the station uncertain what she was waiting for.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

"Stop telling me what to do!" Flora shouted back, though she didn't deviate in her sprint for the ship Gabriel had pointed out. An A-Wing was far from her preferred ship in most situations since the speedy little fighters often lacked the cargo space to really move goods or people making them somewhat useless for a transporter like herself. However, their speed and the power of their light armaments made them attractive ships when it came to a space battle, and she didn't want to put odds that there wouldn't be an enemy ship outside.

Even if it was some heavy carrier or frigate that a little fighter like that couldn't reasonably damage, she would rather trust in her skills at the stick than the strength of her shields. She slung her carbine as she leaped, vaulting onto one angled wing and sliding across it into the pilot's seat while the already-loaded astromech droid whirred in distress. She pulled on the helmet as she powered the ship up, grimaced at the looseness, then tossed it out to clatter onto the hangar floor before reaching up to pull the canopy closed, nervously eyeing the AT-AT's main gun until it detonated spectacularly under assault from the other ships.

"Alright..." She plugged her own earpiece into the fighter's communication systems and tightened the harness, grimacing at the thought of who must have owned this ship before for it to be so uselessly loose around her slender frame, listening to the radio as she abbreviated the pre-flight checks as much as possible. Anything that would keep her from exploding was essential, but anything short of catastrophic systems failures could be compensated for when they came up.

Still, by the time she could feel the comforting rumble of the powerful twin engines at her back the others were already nosing out of the hangar and she had to lean on the throttle, feeling a tingling surge of adrenaline flow through her as she shot past the other docked ships and followed the little impromptu squadron out into the black, immediately beginning to flip through channels until she found that annoying Jedi-Gabriel or something?-'s voice.

"Oi! Crazy guy! We pair up okay? I'll watch one bomber you watch the other!" Flora accelerated as she hit space, forcing herself to stay in formation with the Y-Wing she'd picked as she aimed a tight beam transmission to it. "Hey! You in the Y-Wing! This is the A-Wing off your stationward beam! I'm thinking we could have a mutually beneficial relationship regarding our odds of surviving this insanity! What do you say?"

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

Seeing the second Y-Wing roaring into action brought Kara back to reality. "God damn people doing things simultaneously at the same time." she mumbled as she applied more throttle and fell into a rough formation with the other bomber.

Close enough to see the other pilot, Kara noted the haircut was definitely that floppy brown of her shooter. Humans. Hair. Weird. Smirking with a shake of her head which gave her lekku movement, Kara made some hand gestures at the other Y-Wing to initiate conversation. The returned quizzical look accompanied by obvious lip movements of talking. A point at his helmet made Kara feel stupid. "Riiiight... New fangled radio...duh" Kara said to herself. "Squeaks! Get me some damn cockpit communications. Scan for the frequency that Y-Wing is on and patch me in. And do you have the calculations done on that X-Wing coordinates you were blapping about?"

A seemingly sarcastic "pfff" sound came from the droid before Kara heard a voice "something big to carry those At-At.. If my hunches are correct." Kara flipped her microphone on. "You had great hunches saving my ass earlier. Sorry I wasn't more grateful." As pause "my guess is that we aren't going to fare well alone in trying to jump out. Wanna team these old warthogs up to make a hole?" Kara gave her ship a slight waggle to emphasize it was her that was speaking.

Kara looked at her HUD at softly said "Oh shit" as her screen filled with small dots heading towards the motley armada leaving the station. "I wish there was something clever to say Y-Wing buddy, but all I got is "Please"" Kara jumped a bit when another female sounding voice came on the channel suggesting mutually beneficial relationships. Uncertain which Y-Wing was being addressed, and needing to hide fear with smartass, Kara said "you're gonna have to share sister. Good thing for you both I am a giver and not a taker." With that, Kara hit the throttle and powered up the shields as she moved out to put herself between the slow civilian craft and the incoming horde.

"Woo-hoo" Kara said slowly and lowly. Off mic she said "today might really be the day to become one with the force..."

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

"I'm in the X-Wing high on your left side." Gabriel said, his S-foils locking open in attack position as he flipped over the gold colored Y-wing as they climbed, "By the way, I don't kiss a lady's ass on the first date. I'll take you out to dinner though if we get out of this alive since I was more worried about your spine."

He saw the A-wing with the other Y-wing, followed by some TIE/Y-wing mergers. Otherwise known as uglies, he recognized them as the TYE-wing variant. Zechs let out a condescending bleat as he tracked them visually. He couldn't agree more with the rude astromech even if he didn't want to. he, and the Mirialan from how she handled the A-wing she flew, could probably rip them to pieces if they left the Y-wings behind for now. Not gonna happen unless they got close.

"Alright, roger that Lady Fury. I'll set up a mid range CAP." He said, making a snap decision as he accelerated toward the uglies, "If you want, you cover close range and lend me support when you can. Y-wings, if they get past her, knock out who you can and jump to Chandrila with that Lambda shuttle. We'll follow behind when we can."

He didn't expect them to listen but he was gonna by them time. Whether they took the the time he brought them wasn't any of his concern. Doing as much damage as he could was even though he was endangering himself again. Torpedos armed as he set his blaster fighter's cannons to Quad-fire, he heard a voice in his mind. Male, but definitely not his own.

"Hold on to those whom you just met. In time, they'll become the family you never had."

"Whatever.... This is gonna be one hell of a party." He said, launching two torpedoes at two different target as green energy splashed against his boosted forward shields.

Glad to get some return feed from the others, particularly from the one in the other Y-wing craft, Logan heard her proposal to keep close and coordinate their efforts, but as he was about to respond, the A-wing pilot brought up a conversation about a mutually beneficial relationship for the time being. "Well, frankly, as long as no harm comes to the shuttle, I'm willing to provide both of you with necessary backup..." A few beeps and whistles came through the chatter, like his droid felt left out.

"Sorry, both Four and I will back you up. Just keep the fire away from the big guns, and we should be able to eliminate the fighters, anyways. Just don't expect us to go up against that cruiser... if we had better craft, I'd say take the chance, but, well, you probably understand." Logan wasn't going into full detail of it, considering those dots were closing it rather quickly.

"In any event, time isn't with us... for all of us. But, let's buy the shuttle time to get out of here, anyways. Some of those within are kin to one of us, if I'm not mistaken?" Logan was referring specifically to Kara, though he didn't know her by name yet at this point. He realized then, names...! "Just call me Logan, by the way. Not a special name or anything, but I come from Kuat, home of the Kuat Shipyards." He expressed... then the X-wing pilot, Gabriel, if he recalled correctly, came onto the channel himself.

"Glad the show-off could join us at last; kind of wondering what was taking you so long." Logan spoke, his tone more joking than it was sarcastic, surprisingly, but regardless, he heard the orders. "Alright, we'll keep with the shuttle, in that case. Four has the both of you marked as friendlies, so if anything gets by, I'll inform my pilot kin and we'll be on it." With that said, Logan directed himself towards the shuttle, remaining a reasonable distance behind it, but at the same time, keeping within range to turn around and lend support to the others if necessary.

Flora grimaced at the cobbled-together monstrosities cutting through the black as the radio chatter settled into some semblance of order, banter trading back and forth. "Lady Fury huh?" She chuckled into the headset as she gunned her engines, "I like it." She twisted her control sticks forwards and to the left as she accelerated ahead of the group, thrust vectors flipping over to send her into a tight spin, evading the streams of fire blossoming from the clunky pseudofighters' noses.

She could feel the A-awing' engines roar and rumble, it's cannons hum and whine. She was getting a sense of this ship... "I can't take a hit in this thing but I can dance rings around these hunks of junk!" She levelled her thrusters, dipping low under the loose formation of enemies and then flipping her thrusters again, throttling down to slide underneath them, blazing red cannonfire up into the belly and engines of one fighter and then accelerating as the group scattered, bursting through the new hole she'd made in the middle of them and then cutting thrust again, spinning in space to take out another fighter with a quick flurry of fire that detonated one engine before accelerating again.

Her computer chimed missile lock and at the same time she could see friendly torpedos incoming on the cloud as Gabriel's X-Wing unleashed it's own fury. Gritting her teeth against the acceleration Flora rammed the throttles to full again, juking and and weaving through the dispersing cloud of TYE-Wings to shake enemy targeting before ducking out of them again, wincing as the A-Wing's lighter shields flared from the detonation behind her before gaining some distance on the enemy fighters and turning around to assess the new situation, breathing heavily with eyes wide and pupils slightly dilated as the lull in activity gave her a moment to really feel the rush of that mad furball.

"That was something else...". A grin parted Flora's lips as she pressured her thrusters again, evading a scattering of long range fire from the stragglers before accelerating towards them, priming her cannons as the targeting computer tried to gain a new lock. She'd felt an adrenaline rush, bobbing and weaving through traffic or piloting high speeds through the deadly maze like shortcuts in the coruscant skyline, but this, the power in the ship, the speed and danger of the dogfight... It was a step beyond anything she'd done before...

She liked it...

"Nice run m'lady" Kara said into the mic. "It's me in the gold Y-Wing. Name is Kara" The Togruta was settling into comfort with the space fighter as well as with the idea she was not in this fight alone. Dipping down, Kara opened up her blaster cannon on a couple of the Uglies that had evaded the X-Wing. This gave her view of the planet and where once a space station stood was a small column of smoke.
"I would love to know who these guys are after that blowing a whole city block is worth it. I would have loved to get an autograph of someone that infamous." Kara was impressed with the other fighters for not leaving on their own way. As silly as it seemed, Kara felt a twinge of protectionism at wanting them all to get out of this.

"Hey Logan. Did you say you had family on the shuttle? I mean I'll help it jump either way, but just curious."

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

His fighter may not have been as fast, but Gabriel almost mirrored Lady Fury move for move in the early stages of the furball after his torpedoes wreaked their havoc, sending the engine nacelles of one ugly spinning in two different directing after a direct impact and detonation. The second torpedo tore completely through a second ugly and hulled a third, catching Ms. Fury in the outer edge of the explosion as her rear shields flared. From what he saw as he blew by her in the middle of her turn-about, there wasn't any noticeable visible damage to her fighter at all. Which was good, as he'd hate himself for downing his only friendly.

This time he recognized the feel of the force in him as he flipped his X-wing along it's horizontal axis, angling toward the shuttle moments before it detonated. Debris from it's wreckage pummeled Logan's forward shields as he felt an even greater threat coming from behind the space station. His eyesight picked out the silhouette on one of the clouds covering the planet. He let out a curse as Zechs immediately shot hyperspace jump coordinates for Chandrila to the A-wing and both Y-wings as he toggled his his last torpedoes.

"Damnit..... We got Daggers coming in!! If we're leaving, we need to go now before they get here!!" He shouted while seeing twenty-four of the snow white "Daggers", his nickname for TIE/IN Interceptors, sprinting head-on for Logan and the other Y-wing, "Logan, you and Goldeen go first, Lady Fury, you're next after they're gone!!"

Keeping a close eye on the scanners, with Four controlling the rotationary main cannons on the tip portion of the ship, Logan can see that the signals of many of the hostile ships were being decimated, which was looking good. He can see that the shuttle was about to make the jump, but didn't want to leave the question unanswered. "Well, actually, I may have worded that wrong; last I checked boarding that shuttle was-" Logan was surprised when the ship in front of him suddenly... detonated; was it rigged to explode when it was to make the jump?!

"What in..?! DAMMIT!" It was clear Logan's anger and frustration was expressed to its fullest through the com, and he would've taken it right off in his anger, if he didn't hear the warning for 'Daggers' making their approach. Sure enough, the scanners read some craft on the approach... and they were coming in fast, significantly so than the others.

"...Roger that." Logan was reluctant to leave after such a cowardly act, but he reached up, flipping a few switches, activating the prime. "Punch it, Four." It was ultimately his droid that activated the hyperdrive, and in the blink of an eye, the battlefield was long out of view with the coordinates logged into Four's mainframe, many stars and systems passing the ship by.

Logan slammed his closed fist on a surface free of any buttons or electronic equipment; he was clearly upset, but he was sure that nobody had taken the shot... still, that shuttle was rigged to blow from the start. However, he knew he can't blame himself for not knowing, they had to leave immediately else things would've ended badly regardless. A few beeps and whirls came from his service droid through the com, and the red-haired man just rubbed his face. "...They didn't deserve that. Nobody on that station deserved any of that. Who are they, what are they trying to accomplish, where... is their honor, to be killing civilians? So many questions, not enough answers... Dammit!" Logan can be a bit hot-headed at times, but he's just infuriated at this point... all he had to do now was just follow the coordinates to Chandrila for now, and then from there, understand just what in Nar Shaddaa was going on...

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

Kara continued to take advantage of Uglies split off from mutual support by the disruptive craziness by the faster fighters. It suited her kill style ; quiet quick ruthless and personal. There was a time for everything in her personality and now was the time for vengeance. How often else does she have a chance to kill without retribution and opportunities for escape? She knew these pilots weren't personally responsible for taking husband and child away only three years ago, but they wore the same badge and supported the same leaders. As far as Kara could tell, good people standing with the Empire didn't make the Empire better but made them unforgivable.

Initially she assumed that the shuttle must have eaten a torpedo when it blew. However the excited reaction of the human Logan gave pause to that belief. "Easy Logan! Passion is only useful when mating. Otherwise will make you stupid. Keep your head." Kara chastised over the mic. Pulling into yet another upward turn, Gabriel's warning of new fighters sent a slight chill of fear which was slightly exciting as well. Biting her lower lip as she judged the situation, with the others heading to the Chandrila position, Kara saw no reason to stay any longer and no reason not to follow. Who knew where else she would find mutually beneficial relationships to salve the emotions that would eventually rise up when she allowed herself to think about what they had just been through and having lost everything again.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

The wave of fighters was so much tumbling scrap, and Flora smirked at the slowly churning debris field as she gunned her engines again, making a fairly sedate -for an A-Wing anyways- path back towards the group...

When the shuttle exploded.

Flroa's eyes widened and her ears grin became a grimace as she pressured the control shafts, ducking under the concentric blastwave. "Are you kidding me?" She swore angrily. "Why bother with the fighters at all if you're just going to stick a bomb in the damn thing!?"

The hyperspace coordinates caught her eye and for an instant she had an impulse to trash them in her frustration but then her eyes widened at the sensors display next to that. "Incoming signatures..."

As a smuggler of sorts Flora had been chased by TIE interceptors before, but while she had a sense an A-Wing might be able to beat their speed and armament, their shields were almost certainly stronger. It would be a close thing in a one-on-one dogfight, and against twenty four of them there was simply no chance. She watched as the Y-Wings jumped and then primed her own hyperdrive. Eyeing the threat display as she did. A few bolts of green blazed by but the Interceptors were too far away to be at effective range and she junked quickly beforehand punching the button.

"Jumping!"

And then the stars blurred into lines.

The other were out of danger, but he wasn't so lucky. The remaining five uglies had managed to get their act together and get him stuck in a rolling wheel pattern. Meaning, he couldn't make the jump or engage one without getting his ass shot off from behind by another. It also meant the "Daggers" were gaining time to enter the engagement zone that he couldn't afford to hand out. His anger rose as he was forced to evade fire almost constantly while losing for a means of escape.

"Release your anger..... Only then might you win free of this trap."

He wasn't sure whose voice he just heard in his head was, but he listened, and would later be glad that none of his new allies had stuck around as his last two torpedos vaporized an ugly completely.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

Chandrila... Logan kept thinking about the planet during the jump; he had never been there before, though he even wondered if the place would accept someone of his background. Before the Battle of Endor took place, Logan was just picking himself up after he escaped Nar Shaddaa, even so much as getting into engineering and piloting. It was a big victory for the Rebel Alliance, and resulted in the forming of the New Republic... Logan had earned experience since then, and won the Y-wing of his in a game of cards as well as the gutted R4-I0 of his. His knowledge in droids allowed him to find new interior parts for the astromech droids, even adding on additional firmware not common in droids, including a portable flamethrower, ion blaster, and for desperation, an EMP burst that, though shuts down Four as well, it also includes any electrical devices within a 50 meter blast radius.

Regardless, as the coordinates came up, the hyperdrive deactivated, and Logan was back to cruising speed once more, with the planet in view before him. It really reminded him of Kuat, but he shook his head. Bad memories surfaced around that planet; though it was Empire-controlled up until the Battle of Endor, and its shipyards were used in the construction and maintenance of many Imperial-class Star Destroyer models, including the Super Star Destroyer, the Executioner, on the surface, though few, there were people that believed in the Rebellion and New Republic. Logan's allegiance was to whomever needed it most, but... even then, it didn't change his past.

When the other Y-wing and A-wing pilots came in on his scanners, Logan spoke through the com. "That's three now... Where's Gabriel, as he called himself?" Logan asked through the channel; he sounded a bit more calm than before he left, but even then, there was still a bit of disturbance based on the tone of voice he spoke in. He did say he'd buy them time, but still... as soon as everyone left, he should've been quick to follow himself. Logan had no proof of him being one, nor did he say it out loud, but Force-sensitives can be more trouble than they're worth at times, from his perspective.

Once upon a time, there was the points where Logan believed in the Force and the things it can do, even if he was never sensitive to it himself. Still, that was a long time ago; the experiences he's been through since those care-free times brought a change in him not to put faith into anything. His father told him to trust his own instincts and better judgment as opposed to luck and higher powers. It's what got him this far, and he doesn't intend to change his beliefs.

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

The restraint belts pressed against Kara's breasts as the Y-wing dropped out of hyperspace, but her body maintained the lightest hint of momentum. Looking out the cockpit to the planet filling her view, Kara did a com check. "Lady Fury? Crazy Guy? Kid?" she asked into the ether.

Still in a loose formation with the A-wing and other Y-wing, Kara contemplated if perhaps this was a good time to split. But there was a spark of maternal instinct in the former mother. Kara suddenly chocked on thinking on the word "former". Suppressing the urge to shut down and cry, Kara transferred some maternal thinking to her new little band.

"I don't know about you all, but food and drink would go real well right now. Might stop this pounding headache and help us all think clearly. Then maybe I can figure out a place for us to spend the night or something, I mean we do all need sleep and cockpit sleep is horrible and I mean.. if you wanted to spend time together still."

RE: Star Wars: Symphony of Annihilation [Rp thread] (Accepting)

The hyperspace jump wasn't long but it was too short for Flora not to worry. Having seen them jump before her she knew she wouldn't be able to catch a glimpse of the Y-Wings on sensors right now but Gabriel had meant to be right behind her hadn't he? Where was he then?

The question gnawed at her as the Stars sped by...

Then the ship lurched and space blurred back to normality again, prompting her to grab her control sticks as the rattling of a hyperspace exit surrounded her. She exploded back into normal space with a rush of soundless light, her screens flaring asking with static as the sensors recovered from the transition.

"-Fury? Crazy Guy? Kid?"

There! Two Y-Wings but...

A second ticked by, then another, No X-Wing materialized though, and Flora breathed a sigh. "Fl... Lady Fury here... Glad to see you two made it out alright at least..." She felt almost hollow, now that the adrenaline was draining out of her, but she sighed. The other girl seemed to have some good ideas. A hot bath, a warm meal, and possibly a nice bed to fall into would be luxuries Flora hadn't had in some time, but they would also go a long way to making her feel more alive right now. Especially with someone to fall into that bed with... Her brain supplied quietly.

She had to admit, the battle, the adrenaline, it had all been 'exciting' in more ways than one, but...

Well... Maybe she would see where the cards fell. The other two on the radio sounded pretty enough at least...

Idly she entertained the thought of having both before she reigned it in. Getting ahead of herself would only end poorly.

"Let's find somewhere to stash these fighters and then we can see about making our way to a city for some rest... Sound good?" With any luck they could find a nice secluded landing spot not too far away from a population centre. At least a green world would probably have plenty of nice clearings they could hide in...

Or maybe if they were lucky one of their ships knew a landing spot in this area. After all, familiar ports of call were often logged in the computers...
