Esterion reclined himself amongst the more comfortable trappings of his collection, silks and furs and the purest of solt gold. His body, for a moment, seeming almost of a normal human size before he reached a long, muscled arm towards the stash of fine vintages that he kept at arm's length. Both the stretch of his smoothly scaled limb and the size of the bottle compared to his large, clawed hand were immediately set into contrast against the carafe.

But that was common of all dragons, the ones that kept conveniently bipedal forms as he did... Even if he was far from the common cut of his own rare and powerful kind.

His scaled body was covered in the smoothest of garnet scales, darker even than the dry red of the wine he was flicking his tongue into - discerning whether or not he cared to drink this one or whether he'd prefer to move onto the next bottle in hopes of a still-higher quality. Not that he kept much of anything sub-par. His body was laced with as much gold as was dotted along the rest of his possessions among this wing of his caves.

Those treasures that were less comfortable to nap amongst were kept in other caverns - books and tomes of untold knowledge, history and spellwork. Among so many other things.

The only wealth not in his collection was the human sort - he kept no stolen princesses or broken brood-bitches. He simply couldn't find appeal in the exhaustion of keeping them. Human females were fragile, fickle things that never seemed to last through any real fuck, much less a birthing season. After a while he'd given up on the idea... it was tiring.

Another of his elder kin had apparently taken a dutchess recently and had managed to fuck a clutch into her womb without breaking her.... But Esterion had serious doubts whether she would be able to bring even one of the eggs to term.

He lashed his long, serpentine tail a bit more animatedly than he would have pondering another subject. Almost without thinking too. It had been a rather long time, but the entire ordeal was so much of a bother.

RE: A Dragon's Captured "Princess"

Lucan was slowly making his way up the mountainside. He had to leave his trusty steed behind a few hours ago, the treacherous rocks and steep sides of the mountains were impossible to climb for even the best horses in the kingdom and Lightmane was undoubtedly among those. The young knight felt his muscles ache with every single move he made, with every single step he took. Sometimes he could walk, bracing himself against the mountain with his hands, bending over to stabilize himself, at other times he was fully climbing. Even though the climb was made much harder due to the armor he was wearing, Lucan did not dare to remove it: It was a special pice of armor, handed to him by the king himself, made by the finest smiths of the kingdom and imbued with magic to withstand a dragons fire.

Lucan hadn't hesitated, not even for a second, to take on this dangerous quest. As soon as he had heard that the beautiful princess had been taken by a dragon he had hurried to the capital and offered his life, sword and honour to the king, pledged his life to get her back. It was a great chance: if he succeeded he would not just become be rewarded beyond his wildest dreams, enough to rebuild the ruined castle of his family, but he would even get the hand of the princess, making him the next heir for the throne of Albion!

Still, Lucan was pretty young: he had only just turned 19, having taken his knightly vows the year before. But nevertheless, he was an experienced fighter, who had already slain a multitude of goblins, orcs and ogres, a few undead and even a wyvern!

The young man brushed his shoulder length blonde hair out his face, glistening with sweat, as he finally reached the entrance to the cave. "Just like the old woman said!" he exclaimed! This was a dragons lair, not doubt about it! "I just hope the princess is here..." Lucan said, allowing himself a moment of rest, gathering his strength. His white armor was glistening in the light of the setting sun as he took a swig out of his waterskin and prepared himself to brace the darkness of the dragon's cave.

The dragon raised his head, his gilded golden horns catching the light of his magically flickering lamps. Someone was intruding on his home, he had felt the presence as soon as the unfortunate knight had stepped over the threshold. Esterion yawned, each one of his teeth sharp and perfectly white. He should probably go deal with the interloper... That was one benifit of humans being so frail as they were. It didn't take long to dispose of one when they got it in their fool heads to try to tresspass on a dragon's lair.

His plans for the day would hardly be interrupted.

Esterion walked leisurely to the mouth of his cavern, the human wouldn't be able to escape him in his own home. His magic was laced through every stone of the massive network of caves that could through his mountain. He wore no shirt, as even in this humanoid for his wings would made such things so difficult he didn't see the need to bother. His neck was adorned with draped necklaces of untold price, gold and rubies and sapphires strung carelessly about his shoulders. He did wear a large, trailing sash wrapped around his waist, beautifully embroidered and stiched with as many raw gem stones as his necklace.

He rounded the tunnels into the large open antechamber at the mouth of his cavern to find the human well and truly hadnt made much progress. Tiny human legs could only travel so quickly through a space made for a 10 foot tall bipedal reptile.

And this knight was small even by human standards - a young one no doubt. Esterion just rolled his glittering, golden eyes and sighed.

"What reason are you going to try to slay me for this time?"

RE: A Dragon's Captured "Princess"

Slowly, very slowly, Lucan made his way into the lair of the beast. He tested the ground before every step, making sure that no loose rock, no hidden trap or magical alarm would give away his presence as he advanced step by step. He didn't know that the dragons skills were far beyond anything that he had encountered or even hear about before.

Finally, after a nerve-wrackingly long time, the cave opened up into a splendid chamber: illuminated by magical chandeliers, adorned with paintings and tapestry and exquisite furniture and the finest of carpets. 'Surely, this must be the lair of the beast!' the young knight thought to himself as he gawked at all that splendor that even put the chamber of the king to shame. He didn't know that he was merely looking at the antechamber of the beasts lair.

Just as he was about to finish his examination of all the riches around him Lucan heard the steps of someone or something approaching him. Something big. He readied his sword, taking a defensive stance as suddenly a huge figure entered the chamber: humanoid in shape, but way bigger than even the ogres he fought so far, though with a certain elegance to its movements, its wings draped around his shoulders like a royal mantle. Scales covered its bare chest along with enough jewels to buy an entire kingdom and the knight had to crane his neck to meet the sparkling golden eyes of the imposing figure. Its booming voice filled the chamber, resonating deep within Lucan's own bones.

"What reason?! You stole the princess you foul beast! Return her right now and maybe, just maybe, I will refrain from slaying you!" Lucan said, trying hard to sound threatening and imposing.

RE: A Dragon's Captured "Princess"

Esterion raised a scaly brow, taking in the young knight at a glance. Why did the pompous-sounding ones always end up blond... He was going to start well and truly keeping track one day. Just for as a scientific curiosity. The armor at least was a nice touch though. He was a tad curious about that. Only to know where such a young and, by the look of him, inexperienced "knight" had managed to acquire it. Not that it was anything particularly rare or special. Esterion had at least six sets of armor with much more complicated enchantments woven into them in another of his troves deeper within the mountain.

The dragon paused in his obviously bored and not-at-all-intimidated take-in of his uninvited guest at the allegations.

He sighed deeply, smoke curling lazily from his nostrils.

"First of all... it was a Dutchess. If we're even talking about the same bit of cunt, I can't really keep track of every missing wench that your kingdoms seem to lose." He scratched the bridge of his nose with one wickedly sharp claw, but the gesture was beguilingly casual. "Secondly, it was another dragon entirely that took her."

Esterion scoffed. "This is the third time this is happened, I might well and truly murder Kylieth the next time that I see that wyrm. Bigger dick than her brain."
