Overview
This will be a fairly casual, semi-sandboxy game (though there IS a plot in the form of looming threats, the campaign will revolve around preparing to face this threat in what manner the players see fit while engaging in other shenanigans, rather than being carted around by rails or breadcrumbs, or...whatever.)

The setting details have not been finalized but it will take place in a valley with, like, woods and meadows 'n #$%^, so a more rural-focused environment of small villages and the occasional ruin.

For context's sake, this will take place in Forgotten Realms, so refer to that if you need to pick out a god or something, but you won't really need to worry about the lore since I'm not that up and up on it anyway.

The story is going to be somewhat based on the 3e module "The Red Hand of Doom", which involves an incoming horde of goblinoids threatening a peaceful valley. Again, the specifics are forthcoming, but bracing the denizens of the valley for an invasion will be the initial quest for this game.

Average HP per level beyond first (d6 = 4, d8=5, d10=6, d12=7)
2 traits, you may take a drawback for another trait
15,000 starting gold. You may reduce costs by assuming you crafted items, presuming you have the ability to do so. (Note that during the game you may not have much time to craft stuff).
You get two ranks of background skills per level (as per: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/background-skills/)

CC is very permissive in terms of souces (i.e. pathfinder, 3.5, third party, homebrew, etc) just ask first if it's something non-standard paizo.
