Estvia (Sundust x Victorian_Virtue)

Estvia's chosen horses were bronze, with chestnut-silk manes and tails; bred for their showy appearance, spirited attitudes, and fast strides. White-leather tact was also Estvia's trademark, supplied by the pale sea-lions who litered the eastern shores. White drapery clothed the three horses whose riders spurred, and then heeled their mounts, to intercept the traveling lord. Estvia's insignia was blood-red, stapled upon a field of innocent white, of a rising phoenix taking flight with a snake entwined about it's legs. This coat of arms was seen in several places upon the militia uniform of these three castle guards and their horses. They didn't allow this particular traveler to keep his trot for long. He was battle-worn, and carried an air of business about him. They cut him off and made him stop. Obviously irked by his arrogance, already.

One guard removed his gloves to unfold the alleged pass, to inspect the traveler's claim and story. As he straightened the 3x6 piece of paper he also took a good look at this man. The traveler wasn't trying to hide that he was not an Estvian citizen. He was obviously a Lord of some kind, for they had word of his cohort dismissed into the countryside before approaching the borders of the capital city. He wasn't wearing drab clothing, yet nor was he wearing anything fancy. There was nothing about his appearance to cause a spark of familiarity, yet everything about him to cause a spark of caution. Only when the guard turned his eyes to the paper pass and read the travelers name, kingdom of citizenship, and recognized the wax seal of authenticity, did some hint of recognition materialize.

This guard nodded his head in acceptence, then. "We will escort you Sir, and ensure you are not delayed again."

News had already spread quickly, and King Tynd ended his studies early simply to meet and greet their new guest. This lord was not the first to be invited to Estvia's milk and honey. With the war over, there was already a handful of other sword-bearing lords and sellswords who were a few steps ahead of this one. It was the least Estvia could do for those who fought the battle for them. However, under an impulse not surprised to those who closely knew King Tynd, it seemed as though he became distracted into watching the hummingbirds who visited the royal garden this evening, instead of meeting their new guest. So in the King's stead, Queen Lystril was volunteered to formerly greet him.

Queen Lystril was a tall, thin lady in her early forties. The deep green dress she wore complimented the cool tone of her fair skin and blonde hair, along with her stunning green eyes and natural blushed cheeks. She had long legs, defined hips, a flat tummy, sizeable breasts, and a delicately elongated face.

Estvia's guest didn't have to be escorted for too long into the palace before meeting up with her, either. However it was quite solemn, her mood. It wasn't due towards the visiting lord, as her mind seemed to be elsewhere, but he may have felt the affects of her sadness. Despite a kingdom of milk and honey, they were still not lacking in their everyday trifles.

Lystril barely took notice of him, although looking him in the eyes and nodding her head in greeting, "Welcome to Estvia's renowned palace, capital of our rich kingdom, and home to King Tynd - ruler and protector of our culture and freedom. You are our Guest, most honored, and we are grateful for your service and aide in our conflicts abroad. Please rest in our luxuries, and indulge yourself with whatever amenities that fancies your pleasures." Lystril raised her hand and motioned towards a waiting servant girl, who stood quitely with her head bowed. She was young, but blossomed, with long dark hair and a round face. "Nina will be your servant during your stay with us, and she will help you get settled in and will see to all your comforts."

Nina had a bronze tone to her skin, and it was flawless. She had a soft complexion and cute cheek bones, and straight teeth. She stood still and compliant enough as the lord grabbed her jaw and inspected both sides of her complexion. Her dark eyes held lowered so they did not meet his gaze. She listened well, but she gave no indication towards any emotions for his words; no desire to be a bedside companion, no confusion at his demand for knowledge, no fear at his threat, and no snap-the-finger immediate response to his question.

After a pause of silence, she took it upon herself to slip out of his grasp slowly, and then raised her knowing gaze to meet his. She didn't step away at all, though her face was now free from his crudeness. "I don't know where you come from, good lord, but I believe it wouldn't be an assumption, by now, to accurately state that things might run a little differently around here then what you are used to." She looked away, fixing her dark eyes upon the top contents of a foyer shelf. "There is a palace harem, of which I can lead you the way." She deftly adjusted a vase on the shelf, "I also hear that for tonight's activities during dinner, of which you will be attending, two slaves will be auctioned off." Now pleased with the vase, she brushed her palm upon the thin material of a servant's dress she wore. "Perhaps you can find a bedside whore for your pleasures, that way."

She met his gaze. Nina was definitely showing a different side of her personality as opposed to the meek servant girl who had her head bowed when he was first introduced to her. She was scrutinizing him, because there was more to be addressed here. This lord demanded eyes and ears, with the king and queen as a focal point. Servants had to be careful too, you know, because disposing of servants was far too easier a task then it was to dispose of a Lord. He was a stranger. His intentions were unknown. But he obviously had intentions...and that made him mysterious to Nina. But before any words were said between them, she moved passed him deeper into the room, sashaying her hips along the way.

"They have given you the Lion's Suite, my lord." She reached the black-out curtains of a grand window, and raised both arms to quickly snap them open, wide and far. Sunlight poured into the room, illuminating many decorative items and furniture with lions as a theme. They were on ground level, and a semi-maintained court yard was outside, along with another wing of the castle directly in front. Nina didn't point, but her eyes were searching each window of this adjascent wing to the palace. "Your room is directly across from the personal suites of the two Princesses." She then looked away from the window back at him, "The courtyard is guarded, moreso at night."

Why was she telling him this? Was she just giving him a tour of his new room? No. Because if she had been giving him a tour she would have taken the time to show him the other three rooms of his Lions Suite room. Instead, she walked back to the door, fixing to leave. "Would you like for me to return in a few minutes after you've settled into your new room and lead you to any place in the palace, my lord? The hot baths, training yard, stables, library, gardens...harem?" She raised an eyebrow. "If not, I will return when the sun hits the top of the trees to lead you to the dinner festivities for the night."
