A loud bang echoed down the hall, followed by, "Shit!" "You watch your mouth!" Came an angry voice from the kitchen. Skyler didn't even bother responding. There was no need, she was a free woman! Well, she would be in about ten minutes. Skye bent down and picked up the suitcase she had just dropped on her foot. She then grabbed her duffle bag from the bed and another suitcase and made her way to the door. She paused for a second, looking around the room. This was it. This was her leaving her childhood behind. She finally turned and walked down the hall. Entering the kitchen, she saw her dad sitting at the table with the paper and her mother cooking breakfast. He father gave her a dirty look before going back to the paper. "Well, bye guys!" Skye said enthusiastically. Her mom whipped around. "Arnt you eating breakfast?" She asked. Skye shook her head as she leaned down to give her mom a hug. "Gotta get on the road. Check ins at noon and the girls want us all to get together before hand." She made her way to her father, kissing him on the head. "Alright hunny, just make sure you call us when you're settled." "I will mom. Don't worry." She said with a grin, and with that, Skye exited the house.
The trip itself didn't seem to take too long. Maybe a little longer than it should have since she stopped to get a soda. But in no time, Skye was parked in the campus parking lot. She got out of her blue bug and stood in wonder. This was it. She was finally free of her strict parents stifling rules. Her gawking was cut short by something attaching itself to her back. "About time you made it!" Jen said. Jen was Skyes best friend from grade school. The two had been through everything together. Jen was a rather tall but very lean blonde that tended to be the mouth piece of the group. "Yeah, for real. I though Jen was about to track.you down if you didn't get here soon." That was Carmon. She was shorter with a cheerleaders body. She liked to show it off any chance she got. The last friend of the group was Mary. She was loud and obnoxious but was super friendly to anyone. "Guess what, Skye? We ALREADY got invited to our first party. It's a sorority scout party so we need to definitly go. "Said Mary, bouncing excitedly. Skye grinned broadly. She didn't always like to.party. but she was to the moon with excitement at that point, and would have agreed to sky dive for the first time if asked. Sky grabbed her bags out of the car and followed the girls to the dorm.
As requested, Skye was dorming with Jen. The other two had a room just don't he hall. All of their parents had money so it was easy to make a request for some special treatment. Not that Skye planned on using her parents money for anything else while at school. They began unpacking and settling in. "So, how did you and Jake break it off?" Jen asked. Skye sighed. "IIt was obvious we were going to have to. Him going abroad and me going here. There was no way it was going to work. He was pretty chill about it though, said if the oportunity ever arose he'd come visit." Jen nodded in approval. "Well then you are free to hunt then, right?" She asked, waggling her eyebrows. Skye laughed and threw a stuffed bear at Jen. They were interrupted by a lod banging on the door. "C'mon guys! Let's go go the campus fair." Mary yelled. Jen and Skye got up and they all traveled to the campus grounds.
