Welcome to Dodge
Through a bizzare loophole in galactic zoning laws, the planet Dodge falls outside the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Unified Systems and as such is free of the Commonwealth's laws. Seeing an opertunity to conduct business free of the regulations of the Commonwealth four of the galaxies biggest corporations, Generic Bio-Tech, Kurocowa Manufacturering, Dyran weapons systems and Fujiwara Cyber Technology moved their entire companies to Dodge.
It wasn't long before sprawling cities covered the surface of Dodge, creating a battle ground for corporate warfare to be waged amid the four companies.
With the influx of people to Dodge came an influx of crime. Criminals wanted by the Commonwealth fled to Dodge to find a safe haven from the law and broguht with them their gangs and the danagers that come with it.
With the corporate security forces defending facilities agaidnt threats to their profits there was no man power to deal with gangs harassing their workers.
So a decision was made to put out a call to all the bounty hunters in the galaxy, inviting them to Dodge to enforce the peace. Guaranteed high payouts and access to the most advanced tech in the galaxy at a discounted price.
The hunters swarmed to the planet looking for the big score to retire to.
The Last Big Score
She grew up on Dodge, the daughter of a miner and a prostitute. She spent her life dreaming of a better place, a life free of the corporations and their greed. Bounty hunting offered her a way to live outside of ever watchful corporate eye, away from the life long employment contracts that had shackled her parents her Dodge.
But her dreams of freedom have a high cost and even after a decade of hunting she finds herself no closer to being free of Dodge.
When she took the contract for rouge courier she had figured it would just be another job. But when she corners him he makes her an offer. Riding in his head is 1/4 of a map to a hidden cache of corporate funds, enough money to get them off planet and set to live in style for the rest of their lives.
How could she say no?
