Perfection took time and it took a large amount of money, creating perfection in isolation without anyone being able to leak word was even more difficult. But Cerberus had time, they had money, and they had a goal. Human supremacy was the ultimate goal for the organization, they wanted to see a galaxy dominated by homo sapiens and would go to any length to achieve just that. A project had been started decades ago, running into many set backs but eventually achieving success.

They named him Adam, the first of his kind and the man who would one day father the future of the human race. No expense had been spared, conceived in an artificial womb using samples from carefully selected doners, further modified with bleeding edge technologies, and then carefully raised to ensure that he developed into something far more then any other man there had ever been. Adam would likely live twice a normal humans life span, remain youthful in appearance for most of that time, his body would be kept in peak physical condition with only the slightest effort, biotic capability that was near the peak of what a human could have (though not nearly so much as the subject known as Jack), enhanced reflexes and healing.

Even as the Galaxy rapidly changed with the discovery and defeat of the Reapers on two occasions the project had continued. The Illusive man considered Adam a greater asset then ever before, Shepard had been promising and still had a massive amount of potential but needed to be brought into line with the Cerberus agenda.. and Adam seemed like the perfect way to do just that. While he had been in the field from time to time and proven both efficiency and loyalty, he believed as Cerberus did, humanity first, humanity over all. If anyone could gain control of the Normandy 2 it was Adam.

Though they were no longer in proper control of the ship or its crew Cerberus still had some agents inside of the craft, the Illusive Man knew just when the craft would need to resupply and where that resupply would be. Of course that knowledge was put to good use, Adam was inserted at the location in advance and when the Normandy 2 resupplied he was slipped into the craft with everything he would need to accomplish his goal.

Once the craft was underway again an alert went off in the crate that he had been stored in unsealed, his body coming out of a a suspended state, body slowly warming up, his heart starting to beat once more.

It didn't take long before Adam was stretching away the residual stiffness in his limbs. He had been given free reign to deal with the situation however he saw fit, dossiers provided on the crew that remained aboard the completion of the last mission. The person to start with would of course be Shepard, she was the key to it all...

And with that thought in mind Adam used a master over ride to call down the elevator and after stepping in he set it up towards the Commander's private quarters, it was time for him to introduce himself.

Shepard was widely regarded as not only the best humanity had to offer - but the best the galaxy had to offer. When the galaxy was at it's greatest peril, it was Commander Jane Shepard who stepped in and took the burden on her shoulders.

Despite her stunning success against those who went against her, it was still possible to find those who didn't like her. One thing nearly impossible to find though, was one who didn't respect her and her accomplishments. She had a knack for performing the impossible. Not only did she get the job done - she got it done the right way. When necessary, she had no problem whatsoever with putting her life on the line for those around her.

On this particular night, Shepard had found herself relaxing. It was something rather uncommon for her, yet something slowly becoming slightly more so. With the Reapers ended, the initial shock of the aftermath dealt with, and some of the retaliatory shocks from Cerberus's remaining shells - she felt to some degree that she deserved it.

Jane was relaxing on her bed, with a small tablet in her hand. She snuggled into her sheets inside of her black N7 hoodie, reading the latest updates on the rebuilding of Earth. It was really quite heartwarming. It seemed the entire galaxy was using Earth as an example of what could be done. Since the war against the Reapers had ended there - everyone felt it was right to make it more or less a cultural icon - something to be shared for millennia.

Adam knew exactly what he was doing as he rode the elevator up to Shepard's room, the same keycode that gave him total access also disabled the chimes and would lock the elevator at the top to keep anyone from interfering. It had all been planned out well in advance for while he was supremely confident in his own talents he also knew that to not be prepared for Shepard would lead to a swift death. She had to be first of course, not only was she the most dangerous but she was the glue that held the crew together, if she was broken the others would fall in line far easier.

As the elevator slowed to a half Adam ran over a final check of his weapons, his modified Arc Pistol that was made to stun and immobilise over kill and his modified M23 Katana, for messier work it was perfect in the tight corridors of the ship. Both were in perfect condition, as was his armour, a modified variant of the standard Cerberus commando armour, lighter and more flexible made moving about quickly easier but the reinforced plates made sure it was just as safe.

As the elevator door began to slide open Adam didn't hesitate for even a moment, knowing Shepard may be awake and may hear the doors. In an instant he was rushing forward, one arm raising his pistol and the other raised and glowing blue with biotic energy as he applied the Stasis biotic skill to immobilise her. It wouldn't last long but he didn't need it to as he moved to the door of the bed, arc pistol on her the entire time. "Don't move." He instructed her. "Hands where I can see them and I won't hurt you." A blatant lie, he was going to hurt her and he would enjoy it.

"If you try and fight me I will beat you within an inch of your life and kill your crew, am I understood?" Threatening to kill her wouldn't be enough but her friends were her weakness.

Shepard didn't even have a chance. One moment she was engrossed by the article on Earth - the next she was captured in the stasis. She was keenly aware of everything that was happening around her though. She saw the well armed intruder come in, gun in hand and bristling with biotic energy. She heard his threatening words, sending a shudder of fear through her entire immobilized body. This was not good. A million questions rattled through her mind, but she couldn't do anything until the stasis dissipated.

When it finally did, Shepard had enough time to fight her flight or fight response, and do the smart thing. She wasn't going to risk her crew. With how well armed and armored he was, there was a fairly small chance that she'd be able to beat him in a straight fight. Especially with how little she had to work with. She was bold - but most certainly not stupid.

"Okay, okay....understood..." she said, nodding while keeping her hands out and open. She laid the tablet next to her, while her eyes quickly bounced around - looking for anything she could use to her advantage. "What's going on? How'd you even get in here?"
