Pain! That was the first thing Zoff noticed when he came to. An uncomfortable sort of pain, especially in his wrists -- and... strangely enough, inside? It wasn't a sharp, sheering sensation that left him tired or weak, more of a dull aching in the back of his mind, like he was carrying something he couldn't feel or see... another essence, almost. No! Wait...

The demon!

He remembered, now. Remembered seeing her in the woods, her spirit, remembered the way she beckoned him over, how she promised him -- showed him -- incredible power. Zoff had been so desperate, then... so close to death, and not wanting to die while he was simply still a boy with so much left to experience in the world. How embarrassing it would have been, had he perished without yet knowing a woman's touch...

Sighing, he tried to shake that thought from his head -- and ignore the demoness that now resided within it. For now, he had to figure out where he was... and think. With a glance about, Zoff blinked the tiredness from his dull, grey eyes, trying to get a feeling for his surroundings with a simple look about. As far as he could tell, he was propped up against a tree with his hands tied behind his back. The ropes cut in to his wrists, making them bleed. Well, there was the pain...

And in the clearing just before him stood a woman. A tall woman, taller than him, and beautiful, too, with blonde hair that cascaded in waves and curls over her shoulders and down her back. That chest of hers was practically threatening to burst, and though she was one of the prettiest women he'd ever seen, she looked strict, stern, and displeased with him, and Zoff could only wonder why. Did she know? He couldn't remember casting any magic. Not around her, at least.

I really hate the church...

"Wha--?" he managed, weakly. Zoff could feel the magic, the power, and he knew he could break free, easily, from these binds that held, but... he'd humor the woman, for now. Sounding very much like a defenseless boy and not at all like the powerful sorcerer he truly was, he groaned and coughed, looking up at the woman with pleading eyes. "What happened? Why am I -- agh, all tied up?"
