[Ancestral Steppes - Everwood Border]

The sonic bomb detonated with a shrieking loudness that -at such proximity- made Kaze' ears ring, rendering him momentarily deaf as the Kecha girl stumbled backwards, soundlessly shouting in pain as she raised her hands to her ears, as though she could somehow sooth the pain by covering them. In the moment where she reeled and stumbled, Kaze had his opportunity, and the arrow caught the Kecha girl in the stomach, sending her stumbling to tumble onto her ass.

The second arrow caught her in the shoulder, and she cried out then, barely audible as Kaze' hearing was only just beginning to return, but unmistakeably a pained sound as the force of it twisted her about mid-rise and landed her on her side, panting for breath, red blood seeping from her wounds as she weakly struggled to rise. She wasn't going anywhere for the moment...

[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]

The Seltas was caught off guard by the sudden aggression, and gave a chittering screech as Sonya's blade sought a weak point in it's carapace, nearly severing one of its legs at the joint with a vicious thrust. The Insectoid monster shook and backwinged as the huntress pursued it, nearly tearing it's own limb off in the process as it tried to gain distance, slashing wildly with it's forelimbs in an attempt to keep her at bay.

As soon as it had a bit of distance though, the Seltas juked to Sonya's right and attacked again, coming at her with a spin that feinted a frontal charge but in actuality aimed to strike her with the weight of the Seltas' body from the side rather than the pointed tip of its horn! One leg missing or not, the monster was clearly determined to defend it's territory!

[Everwood]

Alistair moved slowly along the cliff face as below the Genprey milled and meandered below, most of them seemingly content to wander without looking up to spot him. He crept quietly, making little sound, pacing over the valley below until...

A loud screech echoed from the north-east, and the entire camp turned as one, with many of the sunning pack even raising their heads to look in the direction of the scream. The Gendrome must not have been in the valley at all but out hunting, since Alistair was sure that carrying sound could only have come from one of the hulking pack-leaders!

The screech came again, and Genprey began to emerge from the caves below, hurrying towards the northeastern end of the valley. Miraculously, none of them seem to be spotting Alistair just yet but the entire pack is out and active all of a sudden, and the way they're moving cuts him off from getting to the other side... He could wait until they turn back, but then he'll be at an even higher risk of being seen since they won't have to look far out of their normal range to spot him, or he could climb down and attempt to sneak behind the pack, though then the 'Drome might see him coming from the other direction...

Risks either way, the valley directly below him was clear for the most part but he'd be moving completely in the open, while the cliffs were more sheltered but right in the line of sight once the pack began to move back towards the caves...

[The Port City of Val Habar]

The man gave him an incredulous look, and his eyes shifted, glancing over Dust's shoulder for a brief moment, before shaking his head silently and reaffixing his gaze. "Ye drink yerself stupid or summat? Yer a hunter, git t'th'hunter's guild for work, or go suck up to a couple nobles if yer lackin in fiber of the moral variety. What made ye think I would have any work for ye?" The bartender took the money, examined it briefly, then pulled out some sort of clay tablet from under the counter and consulted it briefly before handing him back a few coins. "Yer change."

"Hunter's guild's out the door, jes' east and north, look for th'big-arse gong on top, y'can't miss it."

Sonya was forced to back off on her assault as the insect began to wildly swing at her. She didn't get hit, managing to back step and block the legs, even getting a slice in. However the Setlas had done what it wanted to do, forcing the girl to back off and give it room to work with. She took a moment to prepare for its next attack.

Seeing it come from the right, she spun around to to evade it, getting ready another swing. However she did not anticipate its actual strike. She'd mistaken this thing for a dumb animal, not something that could come up with attacks like this. So in her attempt to avoid the horn, Sonya was sent sprawling to the ground, sword tumbling from her hand. Desperately, the girl quickly reached for her blade, trying to recover before it could pres it's advantage.

dust tossed the coin back on the bar. "You can keep the change." He followed the barman's instructions to the guild house. He walked through the door and right over to the young woman at the front desk. "Hello darling, the name's Dust, I need a job and I was told that you could give me one. I don't much care what the job is as long as it pays and it pays in gold. So what have you got for me?"

Kaze knew that the strike hit without hearing, he knew cause he saw how the female was laying on her side, he knew that this was the moment to finish the fight, to end it for good. He reached down and grabbed his last two arrows, and then pulled the string tight as he took aim, he knew that his foe wasn't going to move, she was to much in pain and now bleeding as well. He took careful aim, glad that the ringing happened to be over with, this was going to be his first victory and kill. The first kill, he had heard it was hard to kill something for the first time. He had not ever done so before, he took a deep breath, as he then fired the first shot at the female aiming right at her forehead, for a kill bow, and then the second shot was aimed at the heart, so that he would make sure to kill this female quickly without any more pain to her.

He would take the remains of the female back to the port, where he knew that there was someone who would have a value on something that he could sell and then he would be able to use that money to be able to get more gear and help himself advance in how deadly he happened to be before he would go and find the next mission to go on. He had a serious look on his face, this work was serious, stuff not for the weak of heart, this fight showed him that so very clear. He had have a hard heart to avoid the problems of the killing he was going to have to do in the coming days and months but that was part of the job.

While new blood was occupied stooting down a Kecha Wacha, outfoxing a pack of Genprey, or preparing to lose their dignity to a Seltas, a Hunter with a handful of successful quests under his belt—small things, to be sure, but enough that at least the guildswoman at the hall knew him by sight and didn't bother with the rookie explanations—was busy nursing a frothy mug of something expensive and fuming a little over the previous day's misadventure. It had begun simple enough; find a cave, go into the cave, kill some Bnahabras and bring back chitin plates. Ordinarily, hunting Bnahabras as a Gunner was a bit of a bitch, since they nested in dark places and it was impossible to carry a torch and brandish a Bowgun simultaneously unless you had a third arm lying around somewhere, but Djinn had long since gotten around that problem by simply toting vast quantities of home-made high explosives into the damn caverns when he went hunting. But what he hadn't expected or even bothered to plan for was all the ruckus drawing the attention of an Iodrome and his pack; a fool mistake that had forced him to beat a hasty retreat. After that, of course, came the Barroth. The lumbering, normaly desert-dwelling brute, the Barroth. Charging in as though it owned the Steppes, trying to flatten Djinn into paste for simply being in its line of sight. To shorten a long story, he lost the carapace plates and some costly provisions for the sake of coming back empty-handed but in one piece; failed quests were not so career-crippling to a Hunter as a missing arm or leg could be. So Djinn sulked, fuming and stewing over his liquor for a time before a tall, pale stranger swaggered in and made a mite of a fool of himself at the bar after introducing himself as the substance he was covered in—Dust—seemingly unaware of the fact that he was in a town that had long since become the heart of merchantry and monster hunting in the area with very little space for adventuring vagabonds in the world. He was probably new, and agonizingly so. He would probably die horribly in the field judging by his lack of a clue. Djinn wanted to leave him to his fate.

He'd never be able to explain why he didn't. Nevertheless he followed the stranger to the Hunter's Hall, stopping briefly by the small room he rented in the city to pick up his bowgun and a the packs and satchels which held his standard hunting kit and room for loot besides, trotting up behind the strange man and waving to the guildswoman, announcing "He's with me" in his middle-tone, smiling timbre. The mid-height gunner looked up at the other man, his Ludroth-skin cap making it look as though Djinn's hair was a mess of vertical yellow-orange spikes, and gave him a brief look of Just go with it. He could explain how not to get eaten in the field, he supposed.

[Ancestral Steppes - Everwood Border]

The Seltas ignored the sword and kept after Sonya, chasing after the downed huntress to land heavily upon her. The insectoid monster's sharpened forelimbs sunk into the ground in front of her, narrowly missing her head and barring her path forwards. The Seltas' abdomen curled up beneath her and Sonya felt another sudden burst of lukewarm liquid over her stomach and thighs as it tried to shoot her at point blank, splashing over her with force but not doing much in terms of overall damage.

What it did do however was cause the Seltas' rear half to push between Sonya's thighs, jerking and twitching there. This was a male of the species rather than a female so Sonya didn't need to worry about having Seltas eggs laid inside her but if it sensed her gender somehow it might try to impregnate her all the same. It wouldn't take of course, but the process would be humiliating at the very least.

All the more reason for her to escape quickly, if she could... Sonya was pretty boxed in, though maybe if she stretched her arm out she might be able to just get the tips of her fingers on her sword..?

[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]

The first shot was enough, the second was redundant, the Kecha girl was dead, and while as a monster girl she was smaller and thus of less use for 'parts' Kaze still made some profit off her death. The guild helped him move the body once he made it to the campsite... They weren't entirely happy with the result, they had hoped to keep her alive, since unnecessary killing of monsters made it easy to step accidentally off a slippery slope, but they understood, and Kaze was paid for his trouble. Perhaps not as much as he would have been otherwise, but he was paid, as well as offered access to a percentage of the materials harvested from the corpse.

Returning to Val Habar, Kaze was left with a heavy heart but several pieces of useful materials that he could put towards either a new bow or some new armour, though he might need to do a little more hunting to get other materials...

[The Port City of Val Habar]

The Guildswoman looked at Dust and started to speak politely before both of them were interrupted by the voice behind them. "Well sir, the jobs board for new hunters is just outside and to yo-." She caught herself, looking up at the hunter behind dust with something more of a smile. "Oh! Hello Hunter Domes, I heard hunting Bnahabara didn't go so well?" She winced sympathetically. "Well, if he's with you, feel free to inquire around. There are a few petitioners from some northern villages requesting a hunter to go out and fight a Zamtrios, though that might be a little above your current ranking, though with some help..."

She trailed off there, leaving the sentence unfinished as she looked at Dust again. "Well, there's the board outside, and there are also a few of the Investants looking for hunters to help them out in the field. Capture missions rather than straight hunting of course, and as usual they don't even tell me what they want, just to send a moderately experienced hunter their way. I think one of them is looking into the presence of a Rathian in the southern regions of the Steppes, though they swore up and down they had no intention of making anyone fight her, so the least you could do is see what they actually want... The other one, she says she's looking into some strangeness about some sort of sickness among monsters, I don't know half of what she means though..."

The guildswoman shrugged. "Take your pick, or just go take a look at the board outside. There's plenty of work as always."

"The last one sounds interesting, if the pay is descent I'll take it, if not I'll take whatever pays best and you just give me directions to get their." Dust wasn't particularly worried that any of these jobs would get the best of him. He was no rookie hunter, he had been in a battle or two, though monsters weren't usually his thing. He had the metal and the mettle to take care of whatever problem came his way, as long as it was worth the pay of course. Who knows. Maybe this woman, whomever she was, who was investigating this sickness might prove a valuable friend if he got to know her. It always paid to have friends, especially when you woke up in a strange place and had only the swords on your back and not the foggiest idea where you were or how you got their, and not coin to your name either. "Actually I'll just take the sickness job, how do I get their?"

Kaze looked over the goods he had gotten and the money that he had gotten as well. He had learned a lot from his first mission, the killing of the creature was something that most likely wasn't the smartest idea of his. He went over and found a bow that he could customize a great deal and improve as he improved. He then sold his own bow for a mail piece of armor to wear. He remembered the Guild as he fixed up his new things and then headed it quickly. He was going to take a simple job, and that was just collecting goods and things he could happen to find in the local hunter's grounds. He would gather as much as he could, for he knew that if he could find enough, that he would be able to improve his bow, and sell the rest of the items so that he would be able to buy more armor and items that he could use to be able to fight better against stronger foes then the Kecha knowing that he needed to be stronger.

He headed out to the grounds with a large bag, so that he could wonder about the local hunting ground looking for things to find and collect, and put them all in the bag. He was going to take everything that was useful and could be either used to upgrade stuff or that could be used to sell for some more cash to be able to buy better gear for himself. He kept his bow over his shoulder on his back as he didn't think that he would end up finding any thing that he would need to worry about in this local hunting ground, but he was prepared incase he did as he had gotten more arrows as well that he could use in any fight against things that might be in the area.

Sonya grunted as she was firmly pinned under the thing, cutting off many of her options. It didn't seem to be going for the kill, she'd likely be dead right now if that was the case. However what it was going for was far more disturbing, she'd heard rumours but...

Shaking her head, the young huntress tried not to think about it, that'd just distract her from getting out. Looking over to where her sword lay, she stretched her arm out. It was a long reach and her arms weren't as long as she liked, but slowly, steadily, she felt her fingertips brush against her blade. Slowly inching it closer, trying to get it into a position to grab, the young girl attempted to get a hold of her sword before the insect noticed. Or simply do anything that'd move her arms out of reach, she needed a few moments.

[Ancestral Steppes - Everwood Border]

The Seltas went still above her for a moment, as though confused. Before it had been doing it's level best to keep her trapped and figure out some way to finish her off but now it was... Stopped?

Not entirely stopped... Its abdomen was shifting between her legs, rocking and prodding, the hard edges of it's carapace scraping against her skin, and the huntress could feel something thick and slimy on her thigh, shifting, stiffening...

Then the insectoid monster seemed to make up it's mind, and Sonya found herself suddenly subjected to action again as the Seltas pulled it's abdomen back slightly and that slick stiffness was suddenly jammed against her womanhood, pushing in utter ignorance of the barrier her panties represented or the fact that the huntress had her sword just at her fingertips. The Seltas had clearly realized that she was not only female but worth mating with.

[The Port City of Val Habar - Kaze]

Kaze had a few 'Local' hunting grounds to choose from, with the Steppes and the Primal Forest grounds both within a brief caravan ride of the city. They were both relatively safe from major threats, but well populated by minor monsters, and no hunter would go out without their weapon to either of them, and the occasional wandering larger monster could come across even the safest locations if one was not careful...

Eventually, he settled on the Primal Forests, and it wasn't long before he found plenty to explore. There were Kelbi in the area though the herds were skittish in his presence and often fled when things got too noisy, making it difficult to even knock them out to cut off their horns, let alone kill them. Even without those however there were plenty of mushrooms and herbs to collect, and even those not useful to the guild could be useful to Kaze for making various tools and potions for hunting.

However, all was not necessarily well... As Kaze wandered one of the shallow enclosed pools common to the area, he caught sight of footprints, humanoid, but clawed... A female wyvern of some sort most likely, though he was not precisely sure what kind, it was not likely to be one he had encountered before given that though...

Kate walked the grounds collecting what he could, it had turned out to be a fruitful area, as he was able to find a good supply of various herbs and mushrooms that he could use for healing potions as well as to sell and for poison on his arrow tips. He took one of them and used it upon his arrow tips, just to test them out if he should have the need, he moved ahead to the next area when he saw the clawed print. It was here he knew that he wasn't alone, and that he had to hunt down the wyvern and deal with it.

He took out his bow, in his right hand and prepared an arrow, as he quietly followed the tracks, putting his finger up to find the wind first. He made sure to stay down wind from the tracks, so that if he found the Wyvern it wouldn't smell him before he found it. He wasn't sure what to expect as he had not seen prints like that but he was pretty sure of the general type but that was pretty much it. He moved quietly and silelently as he looked for this intruder to the common hunting grounds guessing that they had the same idea of hunting for things that he had, just a bit different in the reasoning.

Sonya endured the prodding, taking advantage that the thing didn't seem to know what to do with her. Her sword was in reach down, able to slide the thing down to the palm of her hand. Taking a firm grip again, Sonya relaxed, she could do this, she had a chance to...

The swordswoman cried out suddenly as the Setlas finally settled on what to do. Her panties, unable to offer much resistance, tore open, falling to the invader. Its member pressed forward and into her, pain rocking through at the sudden large intrusion, bigger than men she'd been with previous.

Panting, she glared up at the insect, knowing she wasn't going to let this humiliation stand. In anger and with less focus than she normally employed, she struck. Pulling the sword to her she tried to strike up at the Setlas, trying to pierce its hide. Her aim wasn't the best nor her position, but she was trying to end this quickly and not take time like she should of.

Alistair slowly advanced along the cliffside, doing his best to keep from being overtaken by the dizzying height that he was at, as well as scanning the ground below to make sure that no one spotted him. A futile effort for the most part, but something he could do nonetheless. Anything to limit the possibility of being noticed was good as far as he was concerned, and he made his way towards the other side in turn.

Suddenly a screech filled the air, causing him to jump as he looked towards the source. That was mirrored by the pack below, and soon the Genprey were moving out. It seemed that their leader wanted their assistance for something, and were now moving out to do it. It was fortunate for him, since it meant that the way ahead was clear. Very useful for that, as it opened up the possibility of heading along the cliff floor rather than the side where he had been.

He didn't need to think about it, and once the close was clear he descended and took off for the entrance of the valley, to get out of this place. If they needed the entire pack then the Gendromes had to be involved in something big, and that should prove a suitable distraction if he moved fast enough. He would just have to move that fast, and now he gave it his best effort.

[The Primal Forest]

The tracks were infrequent as the broad but shallow pool's bottom was mostly stone, but after some time spent searching Kaze eventually traced them. They ventured north, deeper into what quickly went from a shallow river pool into something of a canyon, hemmed in by vine-and-moss-covered walls on all sides at the very back of which he could hear a gentle hiss of the waterfall that fed into this place.

The area was hemmed in on three sides, but Kaze could see no sign of the monster girl here... There was a faint tingle in the air though, like static electricity, raising the hairs on the back of his neck, and he thought in a brief instant he saw a flicker of purple light out of the corner of his eye, but when he looked, he saw nothing but drifting leaves in the gentle breeze, in the shadows of the canyon...

The walls could be mounted easily, the western face leading to a cavern in the rock while the northern end next to the waterfall climbed up and into the forest canopy. The monster girl must have climbed one of those, in fact, if Kaze were it investigate he would find sharp nicks in the vines of the waterfall face, indicating clawed hands... He could pursue further, explore to the west, or turn back...

[Everwood]

Alistair hurried, hearing the pack gathering as he sprinted along the canyon floor, heart in his throat as every screech from those pack leaders could indicate he'd been spotted. Every glance back showed only a chaos as the pack gathered around their leaders. None had turned back towards him...

Finally, after what seemed like entirely too many minutes of heart pounding flight across the canyon floor, finally he made it to the exit, but with one last look back Alistair caught sight of flashes and gouts of flame amongst the pack, as well as flashes of brilliant red and blue...

That was probably the Kut-ku, the pack must have found it while out hunting, and now, there was definitely a fight.

If he wanted his prize, Alistair was going to have to get involved..

[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]

The Seltas was already beginning to draw back when Sonya lashed up wildly and it bucked, screeching and chittering in alarm. Its scythlike forelimbs pulled out of the ground with the sudden motion, giving the huntress beneath the monster more room to move if she could muster the strength!

However, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and in this case while the Seltas' front went up and back, its abdomen pressed down and forwards, pushing even deeper into the poor girl as the entire weight of the insectoid creature was behind the thrust for a brief instant!

The choice was here in front of him, he looked ahead, he knew that there was a chance that the creature went that direction. He knew too that he was not in the area he started. He grabbed the vines and pulled upon them testing them and found them secure enough, he tied one around his waist as he figured he might as well head up, see what he could and explore. That moment he was rather curious and wanted to know what he was chasing. He could solve this mystery, and turning back wasn't a good idea. He went up, following the rock his hands pressing into the rock face as he went up, he had experience climbing and knew the art of it, so he could manage.

What would he find, he was more curious now then ever, but he knew that he had to be prepared when that moment came around. His bow was around his neck to keep it from falling as his arrows were tied where they wouldn't fall off as he climbed. He would be at a disadvantage for sure climbing so he did so as fast as he could so he would be able to get on level ground and be able to use his bow and arrows once again.

"Actually I'll just take the sickness job, how do I get their and who am I meeting?"

Sonya had but a moment to contemplate her success before she paid dearly for her actions. The Setlas, forced forward by his upper body pulling away, thrust its abdomin into her. With the full force and length shoving in, she cried out, frozen as she hunched over.

Sonya had learned to deal with much during her training, including pain. But there was pain in a fight, then there was this...

So the girl froze up, phantom as the member impaled her deeply. She didn't move, giving the Setlas time to recover and deal with her.

[The Primal Forest]

The vines were sturdy, and their interwoven curtain gave plenty of holds and steps for Kaze to use as he made his way up the face towards the sunlight opening. That tingling sense of a building charge, or a gathering storm in the air only grew stronger as he climbed, and as he drew closer to the opening he could see drifting haze, like black dust drifting in the sun...

Kaze eyes took a moment to adjust as he hauled himself into the sunlight at the top of the cliff and found himself on a strange mixture of stony outcroppings and woven-vine floors that made up several levels of upper canopy to the forest. This sort of environment was home to numerous dangerous monsters and monster-girls, including Nerscylla and Gypceros, but what was before him was neither of those.

Sea-Green scales adorned her body, and a broad and spiky tail emerged from the base of her spine while a crest of horns occupied her head. This monster-girl was a Rathian, one of the few monsters where the female variant was known by a different name entirely from the male, and normally highly dangerous, but this one... She didn't seem to have even noticed Kaze yet...

There was still time to turn back, but if he really wanted to risk a lucky shot... That tingling sensation was strongest here though, something was in the air...

All in all, something felt very wrong about this situation...

[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]

The Seltas came back down carefully, though it did not sink it's forelimbs into the ground again. Its pointed member pulled out of Sonya slowly with that settling motion, sliding inside her with surprising ease thanks to it's own slickness, and while the huntress was being quite stretched by the shaft and tight around it, the insect's strength was more than a match for that.

Warier than before but still undeterred, the Seltas began to thrust into the huntress beneath it in earnest now, creating a steady symphony of unmistakably erotic sounds as its slick cock began an eager rhythm inside her, claiming her as it's own!

[The Port City of Val Habar - Dust (and Djinn?)]

Djinn was silent, perhaps contemplating his options, so the Guildswoman turned to dust after a few moments of that quiet. "Well I don't see how it could be any harm... The offices are on the second ring, just up the stairs over there, the nameplate on the door should be for Investant Phelrik, she'll tell you what she wants from you."

Alistair would admit that it was more than a bit nerve wracking even with his confidence, crossing the valley floor to get to the exit without being spotted. If even one Genprey spotted him then he would be pretty much screwed, assuming they weren't too busy with something else. Naturally, it was a situation he would not want to be in, so he did his best to prevent it at all costs.

Reaching the exit of the valley, he breathed a sigh of relief as he glanced back, only for consternation to return as he saw flashes of color behind him, the roar of fire and the crackle of lightning. It took only a moment to determine what was going on, and for his exasperation to rise into sheer disbelief. "You have got to be kidding me," he said to no one in particular, struck dumb. Here he had been sneaking past to find the Kut-ku, and it had practically walked into the pack that he had been trying to sneak past without him doing anything.

But now he was faced with a dilemma, specifically the fact that the entire pack was fighting the Kut-ku, and odds were pretty good that he wouldn't be getting it if they did, and certainly not alive. Which meant that he would have to intervene before something terrible happened. So he turned on his heels and headed towards the fighting, scanning the way ahead. He was looking for anything he could use as a distraction, and simply trying to get an idea of the situation he was running into. Charging in blindly would get him killed, and he'd like to avoid that if he could.

Sonya was still in shock from that first deep thrust that she lay still as the Setlas got back into place. By the time she had the will to move again, it began thrusting, stripping that right away from her. She could hardly believe this was happening, to be beaten and humiliated like this, her! Lowering her face to the dirt she endured the humilation, least until she could get a good shot at revenge on this beast.

While at first not reacting in any pleasant ways to the mating, a quite moan managed to escape her lips. Her inner walls, not caring about the source of the stimulation, began to shoot pleasure through her. While this likely mattered little to the insect, it helped humiliate the proud swordswoman further.

He watched and looked as he spotted the moster girl, he looked on ahead, as he felt something was off, way off, and he wasn't sure what it was. He had a free shot, on a monster girl that was not aware, but was she not aware, or had this been some type of set up. He wasn't sure either way. He figured that the monster girl was doing was playing coy with him, and faking preparing perhaps to strike. If that was the case, he would be in serious trouble shooting the shot or not. Still he had his pride as a hunter as well, and that wasn't going to let him turn back so soon, even in the face of danger that happened to be before him.

He took out the arrow and then put a ball object on it, he figured the woman would block his shot, and deflect it most likely. He wanted to be prepared for that, it was always best to prepare for any situation. He took aim as he took in his mind the difference in angles with the extra weight on the arrow, as he prepared his shot. If she blocked the ball would explode or if it hit, it would swing hit her and explode, the only way to deal with it would be a clean dodge, not easy to do. He let loose firing the arrow at the monster girl hoping for his second take down ever, firing it was far easier then anything he had done up to that point. He had to take down the beautiful monster girl cause it was his job, or that was what he told himself when he fired.

Thank you." Dust walked up stares to Phelrik's office. He knocked on the door and when he was asked in he posed his question to the woman.

[Everwood]

The scene was chaotic, and Alistair had difficulty seeing through the horde to get a complete picture at first, but as he watched he found he could at least acquire a good general idea. The Genprey pack had initially been ringing the wyvern, clustering around the creature and sneaking in shallow wounds at its sides but a series of explosions that sent charred and smoking raptors sailing through the air had forced the pack to spread out into a loose, keeping the Kut-ku trapped without giving it big groups to target with its flames.

While the pack formed the Arena, Alistair could see a pair of 'dromes fighting in the center, one male, one female. One-on-one a Kut-ku was costly prey for a single drome and their pack to pursue but between the two of them and occasional intervention from their lessers they were slowly wearing the Kut-ku down, dancing around it with nimble agility, keeping the Wyvern from focusing on one of them for long enough to land a truly telling blow. Tiring it out with slow but steady blood loss and constant battle.

[The Primal Forest]

The *snap* of bowstring meeting bracer echoed, the faint whistle of the arrows flight was as a scream in the tense silence and the Rathian shuddered, whirling to stare wide-eyed at Kaze, to duck as she saw the arrow, low, but not quite low enough to dodge the ball, which struck her and detonated in an instant.

The explosion shattered the silence, orange-yellow flame tinged purple at the edges Purple? That's not normal... But in the midst of it, Kaze could hear a roar of anger, and as the smoke cleared he could see the Rathian, slowly pulling herself to her feet.

Her sea-green scales had been blackened, her skin -such as it was- was singed, but she was far from dead, and her gaze had gone feral, bared teeth and lashing tail in anger, wings spreading from behind her back.

She roared again, and a ball of fire left her mouth, returning the explosion in kind towards Kaze, and much his detonation had shone, her fireball was tinged with flickering purple, which Kaze was beginning to realize came from detonations of the black dust he could see in the air here...

[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]

While some monsters were surely intelligent enough to know the difference (though the stories never seemed to differentiate), many monsters -particularly lesser ones like the Seltas- simply didn't always realize the difference between a huntress and a monster girl, particularly since trial by combat was a common mating ritual amongst most species of monsters. The insect didn't mean deliberately to humiliate her, but rather simply thought it had found a queen, and intended to do as nature demanded and breed with her, never knowing the difference.

Of course this was not likely to be of any comfort to Sonya at the moment given the state it had put her in. The Seltas was a capable lover for (or perhaps thanks to) its mindlessness, its thrusts were powerful, regular, and reached far deeper than any human had ever gone as they managed to press against her cervix every few movements, and as the huntress began to respond with faint moans and pleasure of her own the Seltas eagerly stepped up its assault, redoubling the symphony of slick squelching sounds as its thick 'cock' slid in and out of her.

[The Port City of Val Habar - Dust]

"I'm very busy! Unless you're a-! Wait..." Dust could hear footsteps approach the door from the other side and it suddenly opened. "Of course, of course it's the hunter, everyone else knows better, except Gully." The woman in front of him was tall, barely an inch or two shorter than Dust himself with a mess of auburn hair framing her face and calculating brown eyes as she looked him up and down before meeting his gaze contemplatively. "Hmph, you look more like a mercenary than a monster hunter, but if she sent you my way I guess she must think you're up to the task."

She blew a couple of errant strands of hair out of her face, looking Dust up and down one more time. "You'll have to do. You'll be guarding me while I go look into some reports of monsters behaving strangely in the eastern regions of the Everwood, they've become more aggressive than they should be by far and the region is growing unsafe as a result. I do hope you're up to the task."

She shook her head, realization crossing her features suddenly. "Of course, my apologies. I'm Vianna Phelrik, Guild Investant. And you?"

Dust shook her hand and then kissed it. "They call me Dust Investant Phelrik." His voice was not flirtatious but held only respect, and the seriousness of a businessman. Though the smile he flashed after he kissed her might be flirtatious, and even disarming for some woman. "You are right, I am a mercenary, I am not a monster hunter. I have fought monsters before though, and it is rare for me to leave a client unsatisfied in anyway. My sword are at your disposal and my hands are as well." He studded the woman, pretty, though she looked a little frazzled and half hazard. She seemed like someone he could work with though. If he could impress her with his abilities she might make a very useful allie, maybe he could even get a job as her body guard on permanent retention. Such a job was just the kind of thing he needed at that moment. First though their was the job at hand. "When do we leave, and what creatures should I expect to encounter?"

This was not good, not good at all, in fact, this was about as bad as things could end up. Kaze knew he was in trouble as he knew that his bomb didn't do nearly the damage that he had hoped that it would. He had to act fast and act quickly. He moved to the right, avoiding the dangerous fireball but just barely, he reached into his pocket and took out all of the other balls into his right and and threw them at the monster girl all at once. He took out an arrow one he had prepared with the poison of the mushrooms and fired it at the monster girl as he backed up. He grabbed the vines quickly and used them as a rope repealing down the cliff that he had come up only moments before.

The best part of valor, was escaping, it was why when he threw out the bombs, smoke bombs were mixed in with the explosives to throw off the monster girl enough and hopefully prevent her from following him. At least, he would have a shot of escaping this fight, he had to give it a shot, but he had overestimated himself and underestimated his foe and he knew it right away, as he hit the ground he took off, taking a arrow and preparing it, as he looked over his shoulder, he would fire if he saw her running, but if not he would not fire it.
