Norta is divided into two factions. It's determined at birth, and can never, ever be changed. Because it's determined by the color of your blood. Those with red blood are doomed to a common life. Menial labors and craft trades at best. At worst, you're consrcipted into the army if you're not apprenticed at eighteen. Thos granted silverblood are higher class. Even the commoners among the silverblood are still merchants, businessmen, officers, shop owners, politicians, land barons, artists, and intellectuals. The Silvers are in power because their special blood gives them a power. A scary, terrible power.

The World

Norta is a country border to the north by Lakeland and to the Southwest by Piedmont. It also shares borders with Prarie, Tiraxes, and the Sea. Archeon, the permanent resident of the royal family and all noble silvers, sits on the Capital River. A blockade to the north prevents seepage of toxic runoff and river pollution from reaching the capital city. The residence of the royal family here is called Whitefire Palace.

Summerton is farther north along the river, where the water is clean, but not as clean as in Archeon. The Grand Garden is a Silver marketplace surrounded by diamondglass walls. The summer home of the royal family resides here, The Hall of The Sun. It is here that Queenstrial, a competition for the hand of the Prince is held.

Feats of First Friday are an event that pits Silvers against Silvers. IT is not a death match, and instead a show of power to the Reds. It is mandatory for all Reds to spectate, and enthusiastic reponses to the show are rewarded with food or extra electricity rations ('lec papers).

The Silver Abilities

* Animos - A Silver who can enslave minds of fauna

* Blood Healer - A Silver healer who can only heal themselves

* Burner - Silvers who can manipulate heat and fire. They require a spark, usually from special bracelets, to enable them to manipulate their element

* Cloner - Silvers who can replicate themselves

* Eyes - Silvers who have the power of precognition, the ability to perceive through their mind's eye the events of possible futures. However, they can only "see" the immediate future, which are visions that are inclusive only for futures that will happen after a few seconds from the present time

* Greenwarden - Silvers who can manipulate the earth and plant life, as well as its anatomy, such as leaves, seeds, fruits, flowers, and roots

* Magnetron - Silvers who can manipulate metal

* Nymph - Silvers who can manipulate water. Like the other Silvers who can only manipulate their own element, the nymphs require a nearest source of water to be able to control it

* Oblivion - Silvers who can cause explosions by contact

* Shadow - Silvers who can bend light. They can become invisible by manipulating the light around themselves

* Shiver - Silvers who can manipulate ice. However, their ability is limited only to freezing and frost inducement

* Silence - Silvers who can nullify the abilities of other Silvers

* Silk - brutally skilled and fast Silvers. Unlike the others, silks do not possess supernatural abilities and are instead gifted with enhanced agility and perfect balance. Silks are known for being quick and quiet and vicious in a fight

* Singer - Silvers who can use their voice to control anyone as long as direct eye contact is established

* Skin Healer - Silver healers who can heal anyone but themselves

* Stoneskin - Silvers who have the power to transform their bodies into stone

* Storm - Silvers who can slightly manipulate the weather

* Strongarm - Silvers who possess superhuman strength. Their bodies are enhanced in durability to crush, lift, throw, and catch objects of immense weight

* Swift - Silvers who can move at an extraordinary physical speed

* Telkies - Silvers who possess telekinesis, a supernatural ability that allows them to influence a physical object without physical interaction

* Whisper - Silvers who can read and control the minds of anyone. They can also communicate telepathically and are considered as rare, dangerous, and powerful among the Silvers

* Windweaver - Silvers who can manipulate the wind

Abilities must be practiced and have a limit. They can and do tire the user out the more they are used. Abilities are inherited almost entirely from the Father, so noble families are almost always know for one ability. In rare cases the ability is passed from the mother's side. Note: For RP's sake Whispers and Singers must ask the person they want to use their ability on before they may use it.
