The 15th century was an era filled with adventure. Sailors would roam the seas, searching for new lands, new treasure, and new civilizations. Our story tells the tale of a young adventurer, Nathanial Richardson, and the island he discovered. Nathan joined the trading company after shortly becoming a man. He wasn't the biggest sailor...or the fastest...or the most handsome, be he had a passion no other adventurer could beat. Nathan's first job was to take part as a deck hand on a trading route to Asia, selling spices. He smiled as he looked towards the horizon, a new chapter was starting in his life. His first step as an adventurer.

While resting in the cabin of the ship, Nathan felt a drip of water wake him up. As more drops fell on him, he darted out of bed. He could hear shouting all around him, telling him to come to the deck. As he threw on his clothes, he rushed to the deck to see the ship had hit a massive storm. Giant waves tossed the ship about, lightning was crackling all around the crew. Roaring winds blew members of the crew all about the ship. Nathan tried grabbing at the wheel to keep the ship steady. Alas, a giant wave emerged ahead, and toppled the ship over.

Nathan thought his life was already coming to an end, as he floated along the ocean. He closed his eyes and prepared for the end...After a long rest, Nathan felt the warmth of the suns rays. By moving his fingers about, he could feel sand all around him. Nathan was relived to know he had washed up on some island after the storm. However, something felt off. He moved his head around, to realize he was resting on someone's lap. He finally opened his eyes to discover a woman's face looking down at him.

It wasn't a problem at all to only know the life of the islands. It was beautiful here. Why would anyone want to know anything else? Sunrises and sunsets that only seemed to get better each time, the way the water rushed up to greet you on the beach's shoreline. Her beach was beautiful, without a doubt, even through the storms and even beyond the beach through the lush forest that laid over this particular island, she had made her home here, among the trees and off the ground, bare feet shifting the sand through one of the small cracks in the floor. She could hear the thunder of the storm coming in through the trees, eyes glancing out toward the window only to barely make out the sign of a ship in the distance, tilting her head faintly as she didn't particularly have high hopes for this ship. Maybe it was the way of the ocean keeping those sea travelers away, but she wouldn't worry about it and nor would she have let it keep her from sleeping.

Waking up among dark pools of her hair, the sun peaking through a mixture of leaves and wooden planks of ships just like the one she had seen the night before, sitting up now and shifting her fingers to pull her hair to one side of her face. Things had to be done today, moving to stand from her makeshift bed and pull on one of the few articles of clothing she had taken from being washed up ashore. The tattered fabric of a black skirt that brushed along the floor, her hands carefully wrapped the warm red fabric around her back, holding up her firm bust as she moved to grab a spear and make her way out onto the beach.

It didn't take very long at all for her to notice some lump washed up on the shore, raising a brow before moving quickly when she noticed it was a body. . Of a. . Moving to a halt as she stood above him now, spear set behind her before settling down carefully beside him, light brown eyes dancing over his face and the rest of him. Adjusting his head onto the soft, exposed flesh of her thighs that her skirt left due to its tears, curtains of black hair shielded the sun from his face as he began to stir, bright eyes wide with curiosity and excitement. Not paying at all attention, the woman had been letting her hands roaming over his face curiously, fingers tracing his jawline and curious as to why it was so sturdy. As a person, he seemed sturdy, but at least he was awake now!

Nathan darted up in confusion at the woman looking over him. Thoughts racing through his head all at once. He was happy to still be alive, at least he was sure he was. Did anyone else survive the crash, did this woman see any others, who even is this woman? Nathan composed himself, trying to take in what was happening at the moment. He looked up and down at the woman who saved him, trying to gain information. Her clothes are ragged, and the spear seems to indicate she's been here awhile. For all I know this could be her home. One person can't live alone on an island like this, maybe she has a village that can help me. Nathan had a feeling that she wouldn't understand English, but tried adding motions to help her understand. "Uuuuuum, me am Nathan." He moved his hands to his chest, trying to convey that he was referring to himself. "Naaaaaaathan" he waited to see if she understood...

Tilting her head faintly when he shifted so abruptly, her eyes watched him as he did everything but start pacing all over the beach, confused and not understanding what he was going to do. She wondered if this was what all the ones did who were found or stuck out at sea, scared and afraid. Hm. Raising a brow as he began to flail his arms about, or rather try to explain himself, the naturally tanned woman for a moment didn't understand his panic and shock, not until she remembered how he got here. Again, he wasn't even as happy as she was that he was alive. Instead, he was pointing to himself and calling himself a Nathan. Hm. Were all Nathan's like this one? Standing carefully, the woman moved, walking around him and looking him up and down, " A Nathan. " She wasn't an idiot, just, unaware of this new being.

" All Nathans ride on big, big boats? " Curiosity lead her to ignoring the way he clammed around, the woman with the sunkissed skin spoke again, finding herself back in front of him, standing now with the sun in her eyes, " Inka. " Tapping her own chest faintly, as though that would help him the way he assumed it helped her. " No more Nathans. "

Nathan was relived to know this woman had a name, and some understanding of the language. Her phrasing seemed to mean he was the only survivor from the storm. He ran his fingers through is black, sand covered, hair. It was a heavy loss on the man, but the only way to preserve there memories was to live on. He reached out to the dark skinned woman...this Inka.

"Ok, In-ka? Can you take me to your village?" He points to her when referring to herself, just as he pointed to himself. Nathan puts his fingers together, in an attempt to make roof. Placing his hands above his head, he hopes Inka will understand what he means. "Other Inkas?" Nathan asks with hope that more people would be on this island

Again there was a shimmer in her bright eyes, her curiosity was starting to bubble up, her bare feet seemed to sink just slightly in the sand as she watched his hand reach for her. Moving faintly to avoid the touch, he had acted so strangely upon her touching him that she found it odd to be touched by this Nathan. " Not In-ka, Inka. " Now who was the silly one in this scenario, leaning down to pick up her spear and moving toward the ocean as he asked if she could taken to her village. " No, no Nathan's. " She had never seen anything like him, and she doubted any of the others in her tribe had, but one thing was certainly true, there was a very high chance it could go badly. She had to test him first, gauge him for whatever he was and who he was.

" Other. . " Pausing to shift her hands in the fashion of a woman's curvy shape, Inka spoke again, " But no other Inka. " Dark hair falling over her face for a moment, the brunette turned back to face him as she spoke again, " What makes Nathan's ride big water boats? " Were they hunting fish? This far out? Probably not. Trying to conquer some new world, probably. Though she had been on this island for longer than she could remember, Inka was no idiot. None of these women were. They had seen boats come and go, destroyed by the storms, though had never seen a. . A Nathan this close. That didn't mean he could be trusted.

Nathan had to scratch his head, sand grains flowing out with each motion. How do you explain the trade industry? He looked for something, anything that could help illustrate his point. He found a seashell, a thin rock, and a leaf all around the beach. He sat down on the warm, soft sand, motioning Inka to sit as well. Placing the shell closest to her, he began sliding the rock, with the leaf right next to it. "We ride big boats to other lands, carrying...things. We sail to other islands, much bigger islands then yours. These islands have many...Nathans, and Inkas. We show the others our things, and we ask if they will exchange the things they have for our things." Nathan took the shell from Inka's spot, and swapped it out for the leaf in his spot.
