Is He A Lover or A Fighter {guitarfan2810 & WrittenFantasies}

Adri walked with Jake into the building and was surprised when they were bombarded with media. She tried to tell them Jake had nothing to say but that was easier said than done. She could only hope that dealing with endorsers would be easier than dealing with them. They walked to luke and exchanged pleasantries before they got down to business.

She wrote locker room 15 in her phone as a reminder to herself for tomorrow now she didn't have to ask anyone and she could get there faster. She nodded her head to Jake and showed him his iPod in her hand. She thought he did very well with his interview. He kept a calm head despite what Ray said about him. She met him once he got off stage and she handed him the iPod. The playlist was already ready so he just had to pick a song to start it off. She made sure it was fully charged so it wouldn't die on him as well. But if it did she took it upon herself to duplicate his entire ipod to hers, for just in case purposes.

Once his headphones were on, she knew he was in a no talking mood so she went to watched the weigh ins. They went through every weight class and finally Ray 'The Mayham' Matthews was called and he came in at 184. He took his pictures and then he walked off to the side stage to see what Jake weighed in at. He bounced up and down and shook his hands out.

When it was Jake's turn she walked to the side of the stage to grab his ipod before he got on stage. She made eye contact with Ray for a second and then looked at Jake again.

Jake got up and waited on the side of the stage as Ray grabbed his clothes and put them back on. He wanted to be ready when they called him up on stage. Luke was there to follow him up and hold his clothes for him. They announced Jake and he handed his ipod and headphones to Adri who was right there and ready. She really was a good assistant.

Walking up on the stage he got to the scale and kicked his shoes off and then started to take the rest of his clothes off until he was in his boxer briefs. He stepped on the scale and Joe Rogan announced he came in at 182. He made weight and was happy about that. He stepped off the scale and started to put his jeans back on. He walked over to where Ray was standing for the stare down. He put his fists up as he posed for the picture and stared down Ray. He was focused and already a bit angry from the music he was pumping himself up with.

Adri smiled when Jake started to undress. Luke smirked at her and she tried to wipe the smile off her face and she tried not to stare at him. She couldn't help it though. He was on display for all to see. He looked good.

Ray walked over with his fists up and took his own battle stance. Getting his fists in Jakes face, so close to touching him but not actually doing it. He stared deep into Jake's eyes to get into his head. He had a cocky smirk on his face. He felt like he was going to win. He knew he was going to win.

"I'm going to fuck you up in the octogon and then I'm going to fuck your girl in the locker room." He whispered to Jake about Adri. "Let's hope the walls are thick so you won't hear her screaming my name." He gave him a wink and turned out to the cameras. He let them get a couple more pictures and then walked off stage. He wasn't planning on fucking Adriana but he wouldn't turn her down if she came to him. There was no doubt in his mind that Jake was fucking her. Might as well show her what a real man felt like.

Adriana stood on the sidelines and when Jake came off the stage she walked behind him. She had a folder of a couple potential endorsers but she knew tomorrow she would need to bring a wider purse so she wouldn't have to hold the folder.

Jake was fine until he mentioned fucking Adri. The look on his face alone showed that Ray got into his head. He wanted to punch his lights out now on that stage but he didn't. The more he kept talking the more Jake wanted to deck him. He would just take it out in the Octagon tomorrow. He turned for a few last pictures and then grabbed his shoes and shirt putting them back on. Joe came over to do a quick interview with him. "Jake it seems he got into your head there...what did he say."

Jake shook his head. "He was just running his mouth about crap he knows nothing about."

"You think all your training will pay off tomorrow?"

"I have a great trainer and it will show. I can't wait to shut some people up once and for all."

Jake walked off the stage and didn't say a word to Adri instead he just held his hand out for his ipod. He put his headphones back on and he sat down pretty pissed. They waited until the end of weigh ins then Luke said he'd see them both tomorrow. Jake kept his headphones in as they walked to the car. He didn't say a word to Adri the drive home either. He was keeping all the anger in and he was ready to snap.

Adri handed his iPod to him, hoping for some sort of happiness. He made weight and he had been stressing out about that for the past week. She didn't get that at all. Instead she got silence. The walked through the building was silent. The walk to the car was silent. Even the car ride was silent. She could feel the tension in the car and she was really curious about what could have possibly been said. It was most likely about his family, which was a touchy subject to Jake. She didn't want to see that anger so she didn't bring it up.

She unlocked the door for him to the house and she walked to the kitchen. She made him a healthy protein packed burrito from the binder and set it in front of him. She made another and set it in the fridge for later.

The curiosity was digging at her. She looked online for any lip reading but she couldn't find anything of subsistence. "Did he bring up your family again? Do you want to talk about it?" She asked softly and looked at her shoes. Keeping it bottled up wasn't healthy but it would help him win the fight tomorrow. He also wouldn't be holding on to his aggression too long.

"Just a question. You don't have to if you don't want too." She added and rubbed her lips together.

He went inside and grabbed his ipod. He put one earbud in and left the other out. Sitting at the counter as she cooked but he just kind of stared off blankly listening to the music. Jake didn't even watch her cook like he normally did.

He started eat but was still pretty pissed about the comment. Then Adri's curiosity got the best of her. He slammed his fork down before pulling his earbud out. "Why do you think he said something about my family? You don't even know anything about my family. Why would you even ask that?" He pushed the burrito away. He wasn't really that hungry after all.

"Why don't you do me a favor tomorrow and not be around the locker rooms. Especially after the fight." He got up slamming his bar stool against the counter as he pushed it in. "He ran his mouth about you if you really want to know..." He walked passed her and headed to the basement.

She couldn't say she didn't jump at his outburst. It caught her off guard and it got her heart racing in her chest. The last Ray spoke and got Jake upset it was because he was talking about it family. She just figured he did it again only this time to his face. She wanted to apologize but by the time she got the courage to speak again he was gone. Ray was talking about her. She wanted to know what he said but Jake was already pissed. Asking more questions would just anger him further. She didn't want to get fired. Wait...

Was she fired? Did she just get fired? She liked this job, she hoped not. He just didn't want to see her at the fight right? She bit her lip and put her head in her hands. She fucked up big time. She wrapped th efood up and put it in the fridge. She put the file of endorsement deals on the counter. She found a blank piece of paper in the office he let her use and wrote a neatly scripted note that said, 'I'm sorry. Kick his ass for me.' She set it on his bed where he could easily find it and then she went home.

He could just be like her brothers. When they got really upset at her, or each other, they needed time alone to cool off. Sometimes that meant a couple hours or a couple days but they always got back together in the end. But they were family and Jake was her boss. He was not going to fire her that easily. She was a damn near perfect assistant for the past week. She wasn't going anywhere.

She walked to her closet to find a red and black dress, as far as she knew he was still wearing the shorts she liked and she was going to show her support by matching him. Even if she had to buy a ticket herself. She kept her work phone on and by the bed. She made sure it was charging so if he changed his mind she would be there for him.

Jake worked out some of his frustration on the punching bag. He wasn't sure why he was so angry over what Ray daid. Was he jealous? Was he territorial? Was he being protective? He had no idea. He kept working on combos. It was just a matter of time before he could use these combos on Ray.

Finally after awhile he returned upstairs to find Adriana left. He let out a sigh and shook his head. She bailed on him. Going to get ready for bed he undressed and went to get in and saw the piece of paper. He crumbled it up and tossed it at the trash can. Pulling out his phone he sent her a text.

"Thanks for bailing. I take it you quit?"

He put his phone by the bed and climbed in. He was upset she left. It was weird how much he liked having her around. He normally loved being by himself but he laid there in bed wishing he wasn't such an ass and scared her off. He let out a sigh shaking his head at himself. He was notorious for pushing people away. Jake just hoped he didn't push Adri away too.

Adri used the time to watch her shows and have a little personal time. She was able to do her nails and kick back with a glass of wine. She didn't get drunk in case she was needed. She heard her phone go off and she went to pick it up. She frowned at his text and sighed, "I didn't think you would want to see me tonight if you don't want to see me tomorrow."

She set her phone down and bit her bottom lip. If he needed her she would come in a heart beat. He had to know that by now. "You have dinner in the fridge. Endorsements on the counter. I can come back tonight or I will see you tomorrow. I'll just make sure you don't see me." She wasn't fired and she certainly wasn't going to quit.

"Good luck tomorrow Jake. I know you can do it." Next time she knew to stay after he yelled at her. Leaving was clearly a mistake but it didn't cost her her job...this time. Next time she might not be so lucky.

He didn't care about the food. He wasn't hungry and was trying to rest for his big fight. She was thinking he didn't want to see her. That wasn't why he told her to stay away. It was so Ray couldn't see her and run his mouth again. Maybe part od it was because he was afraid Ray would really try picking her up.

When Jake got the message about not seeing her...truth was he wanted to. He wanted to tell her to come back but she needed her rest for the next day.

Getting up he went into the bathroom and splashed water on his face. What gotten into him? Why was he acting this way. He returned to bed and looked at her messages. He didn't scare her off but he sure as hell made an ass of himself.

He replied with a simple reply. "I'm sorry Adri."

Adri wasn't trying to get an apology out of him but she was happy to see one. She didn't know what to say. He was definitely a challenge but he made her days interesting. "I am too. I shouldn't have left." She set her phone down and get ready for bed.

She slept peacefully and woke up at a decent times he made herself some eggs and toast for breakfast. She kept looking at the clock waiting for the time when she could leave and go to fight. She was excited to see it all happen for once. She saw a few fights on the internet but it was totally different in person. She wasn't sure if she could handle seeing Jake get hit so he would really need to block Ray's hits.

Finally the time camer and she put on her black crop top and red pencil skirt. It was possibly a bit too sexy for a fight but she wanted to support her boss. She slipped on her black pumps and walked to her car. She was able to get in easily and she was actually given a seat by front so she had a perfect view of the octogon. She figured she was on Jake's side because her seat was saved. They had to know she worked for him.

Jake got her message and set his phone on his stand. He got a good nights sleep and woke up a bit early. The music started as soon as he woke up.

He listened as he got ready. He put on a clean pair of jeans and an Affliction tshirt. He had one in his bag to match his shorts to walk out in.

He arrived at the arena and went to his locker room. Luke was there waited a bit to get ready. Luke gave him reminders of the game plan. Either knock him out in first round or make him tapout. Also in the first round. He couldn't help but wonder if Adri was there yet.

After she was seated he messaged her. "Hail to the King-Avenged Sevenfold" It was the song he would come out to. He told her she would find out before they started to let the UFC know.

He started to change into his shorts and matching Affliction shirt. He put on a pair of athletic pants over the shorts. As he listened to music Luke taped up his hands and he had them checked by ref.

He was starting to get anxious for the fight. Jake started getting pumped and angry. It kept playing in his head what Ray said about Adri. Luke and some other guys from the gym to be in Jake's corner waited in his locker room for the time for Jake to kick some ass.

She felt her phone buzz in her bag and checked the text. She took the song to the sound guy and waited for him to pull it up. When she heard it and confirmed it was the right song she went back to her seat. She sent Jake a text, "They have it." It was one less thing he needed to worry about and he knew she was there to support him.

She remembered he didn't want to get pounded by endorsers so he would most likely see her after that fight as well. She hoped he wouldn't mind that too much but she needed to do her job.

The seats started to fill up the closer to fight time they got. She got butterflies in her stomach as she wondered about if he would win or not. What would his celebration entail? Was it part of her job to find him a girl to sleep with? She hoped not. She didn't know what his type was and that just felt wrong.

A song started to play and it wasn't Jake's. The lights went out and a spot light centered on two black doors. They opened and Ray bounced out. He ran around the ring to give every body a view of him and then he walked into the ring. He sat on a small tool and his attendants were yelling things at him to get him ready.

Jake was told that he was up. Luke checked his gloves before he started heading out. His music started and he started to get pumped up. He was happy Adri got the song set up for him. He was totally in the zone as he walked out with Luke and the guys with him.

When he got closer to the octagon his eyes shot over to see Adri. Damn she looked hot again but he needed to stay focused. He stopped at the entrance taking his shirt off. Luke puts the vaseline on his face before he enters the octagon. Luke doesn't run around stupid like Ray instead he stays on his side jumping around to stay loose.

The announcer anounced both of them and Ray put his hands up trying to get an applause. Jake just stood there bouncing around to fight. The ref explain he went over the rules in the locker room and to touch gloves out of respect. Jake extended his glove but Ray ignored it. The bell ran and the fight began.

Jake stayed guarded and saw an opening and got the first punch in. They went back and forth exchanging punches. Then Jake did a combo with punches the kicked Ray in the ribs, obviously breaking a rib. Ray winced but tried to hide it. Luke yelled, "He's hurt go after his left rib. Get him Jake!"

Adri smiled when Jake came out. His butt looked very good in his shorts and they matched so she was happy. She cheered for him when he was announced. She was excited for him and for the fight to start. He would finally get some of his pent up frustration out.

The punches started to fly and she grimaced. At least Jake wasn't getting hit. Ray smacked his head a few times but Jake got the first real hits in. Ray dropped his arm to protect his left side. He used his left hand to block and his right to hit.

When that didn't work he if tied the pain in his left side and started to throw blows. He kicked Jake in the hip and threw a punch to his ear. Adri frowned and could have sworn she saw blood. The crowd wa a roaring for blood. It felt like they were gladiators fighting to the death.

Jake started to guard himself a bit better. He tried to listen to Luke's directions. But Jake saw an opening when Ray went to punch him. Jake leaned out of the way and hit him with a counter punch right in the jaw. It rocked Ray.

Luke yelled at Jake. "He's rock shoot on him!" Ray lowered his hands and Jake got a few punches in on his tib that was broken with a combo before hitting his face again. Ray went down with his nose and lip bleeding. Jake was bleeding himself but not like Ray.

Jake pounced on him and just went at his face with punches. The crowd went wild for Jake. The ref called the fight and had to push Jake off Ray. Luke cheered and clapped. Jake got up and was slightly smiling. He wanted tp punch him again just for Adri but he was already technically knocked out. He put his right hand up in triumph.

Jake 'the Drifter' Daniels was announced the winner by TKO. The ref held his hand up as the winner as the crowd again cheered for him. He put his shirt on and an Affliction hat as Joe Rogan came up for a quick interview. His eyes drifted to Adri smiling.

Adri watched as Jake delivered a series of blows. She wanted to look away but it was like a car wreck. She couldn't pull her eyes off of him. Once Ray was on the ground Jake seized the moment and knocked him out. When Jake did his interviews she went to Luke's side so she could walk with them and take any endorsement deals and stop any interviews from happening until Jake was ready.

She did catch Jake's smile to her and she put her thumb up to tell him good job. Once he was out of the ring she walked in front of him and started to intercept people. She did a pretty good job and once he got into his locker room, they could only speak to her. She took information for interviews but didn't promise anything. By the time she spoke to every one her hands were full of papers and she was tired of talking.

She wanted to go in th elocker room but he told her multiple times that it was best to stay away from him at the that time and last gth he didn't want to see her. He might have smiled at her but she didn't want to misread any more signs. If he needed her Luke would get her or she would get a text. She didn't realize how much she liked being around him until he told her to stay away from him.

Jake followed Adri to the back. A bunch of people wanted to do interviews and a few endorsers wanted to sign. Jake appreciated Adri intercepting them. He went in his locker room still a trying to breathe from the adrenaline of the fight. Luke took his tape off his hands and told him how well he did.

Once the tape was off he grabbed a Powerade Adri packed for him. He drank it pretty quick as he talked to the guys. Jake asked Luke to find Adri before he went to shower.

Once Jake was done he got out of the shower and got dressed. He was still bleeding a bit but was hoping Adri would help him out with that. Guys were normally rougher than a girl would be. Jake was still fired up and had trouble sitting still. His mind couldn't help but wonder if she was talking to Ray.

Luke went out looking for Adriana. Once he found her he told her Jake wanted her. "You coming with us to the after party? It may be a good idea if Ray is going to be there."

She was actually really happy when Luke came to get her. She went into the locker room and waited for Jake to get out of the shower. "I don't know if I should." She said honestly. She didn't want Jake to see her and Ray and think the worst. She would try to stay away from him but odds were they were both going to be in the VIP section. "Are you going?" She asked Luke.

When Jake got out of the shower she saw the cut on his ear and eyebrow. He could have looked a lot worst. She waited for someone to come patch him up but she was handed the first aid kit and she went over to him. She used to patch up her brothers when she was younger and now all she did was put bandaids on shaving cuts. She could try this though.

She dug through the small kit and found alcohol wipes and two bandaids. She looked at Jake, "This might sting." She warned and wiped his ear. She folded the little towel and wiped his eyebrow. "They don't look to deep." She pressed a cotton swab against both cuts and put pressure on them. "No need for bandaids." She pulled the swabs away and waited to see if they would start bleed again. She threw everything away and cleaned her hands.

"Are you hungry?"

Luke nodded. "Absolutely. Everyone normally goes at least for a little unless he doesn't win. But we have something to celebrate tonight." He smiled. "You like him don't you? I see how you look at him..."

Jake sat still when Adri started to clean up his injuries which weren't horrible at all but he knew the guys would be rough and make it worse. He winced a bit and pulled away slightly when she used the alcohol wipes. "So Adriana...how did I do?" He looked up at her as she held the cotton swab to his cuts.

When she asked if he was hungry he couldn't say yes fast enough. He hadn't had much to eat as he was too nervous for the fight and didn't want to have too much food in his stomach during the fight. "I could go for some Chipotle." Jake laughed a bit. He loved their burritos and he actually could eat normal food. He would do that if he won he would give himself the rest of the weekend to eat or drink what he wanted then it went back to eating healthy for training.

"You like Chipotle Adri? We can grab some on the way to the after party...if you're coming?"

"I don't know what you're talking about Luke. He's my boss. I'm just trying to keep him happy." She explained the slightly rose tint to her cheeks gave him the answer he needed.

"Well, I wouldn't want to get in the ring with you." She teased. "You did very well. I'm glad you won. And you kicked his ass." She smiled at him and pushed his hair bacm to the side. "Great job, Jake."

She nodded her head, "I love Chipotle." She told him. "I will follow you to Chipotle and the after party. Or you can follow me home to drop off my car. It's up to you." She said softly.

She look over her shoulder and saw Luke smirking. She playfully glared at him and rolled her eyes.

His eyes looked up at her when she pushed his hair back. "You did tell me to kick his ass... so I just did what I was told." Jake was flirting with her but didn't even realize he was. He was happy she agreed to Chipotle. "We will drop your car off at your house." He packed up his things and grabbed a new Powerade for the drive. "Whatever you did to keep these cold worked. Thanks." He walked out with her and even stopped for a few autographs on the way out a few photos. He was kind of a jerk to the adults but the kids he was cool and patient with.

He then took off to his car to follow Adriana to her house. Once they got there he unlocked the doors to let her in to ride with him. Jake stayed rather quiet on the ride to get food. He wasn't sure what to talk about and he still was a bit hyped up from everything. But this win, it seemed different to him. It was probably Adriana. She was the only thing different. She seemed to mellow him out a bit. "How was the whole experience?"

Once they got there he parked but didn't get out. "You wouldn't mind going in and getting mine for me would you? If I go in I may not get back out for awhile...you know fans." He smiled a bit joking but also being serious. His eyes looked in hers a moment as he waited for an answer. He told her his order and waited for her before they headed to the party after grabbing their food and eating quickly.

"Well you did a very good job. But you haven't told me what he said." She raised an eyebrow but didn't press if he didn't want to tell her. She wanted him to be happy and celebrate his win. "Oh good. I was nervous it wouldn't work. I'll keep that in mind for next time."

She walked out with him and drove him to her little condo. She locked her doors and hopped in his car. She had half a mind to change her shoes but she was dressed for an after party so it didn't matter. They didn't match anymore but they didn't need to match all the time. "Nerve wracking." She said softly. "Of course I was hoping you would win but no one really knows what happens when you're in the ring. I really didn't want you to get hurt and you guys were throwing devastating punches. I couldn't pull my eyes away because I didn't want to miss anything. I was relieved when you walked out of the ring with two cuts. It could have been much worst."

She nodded her head to getting them food. It was probably best if she went in on her own. It might look like a date if they went in together. She took his order and slid out of the car. She got his burrito and she got a chicken burrito for herself. They ate on their way to the party and then she gave him a piece of gum to chew on to clear his breath.

"Looks like it's going to be crazy in there. Are you ready?" She smiled at him and out her hand on his, "If you meet someone I can take a cab home or I can go home with Luke. Okay?" She didn't want to say it but she felt the need to so he didn't feel like she was cramping his style.

Jake understood what Adri was saying about wanting him to win but never knowing what could happen. One punch is all it takes to knock someone out. But either way he was happy she was there to support him. It did mean a lot. He only really had his trainers there to really back him that he knew. The rest were just random fans he never met.

He made small talk with her as they ate and he drove. Once there he stopped and looked at her hand on his but listened to what she said. Jake nodded. "Alright...But either way I'll make sure you get home safe." He got out and headed in with her. A few other fighters congratulated him on the win as they entered. Jake introduced them to Adriana. They were being nice but most of them hardly talked to him. He wondered why the change.

Making his way to the VIP section Luke was already there with a drink for Jake. "For your win brother." Jake thanked him. Luke asked Adriana what she wanted and told her he had a tab started to put whatever Jake or her wanted on his tab. He was picking it up tonight. Jake thanked him before Luke could order shots for everyone. People would have thought Luke won the fight and not Jake. But in a way he won too so Jake let him celebrate as much as he wanted. A few girls came up to Jake congratulating him and trying to flirt with him. Jake looked at Adriana before talking to the girls.

Luke looked like he was ready to get drunk and it was a time for Jake to celebrate so she stuck to water. One of them should probably remain clear headed. In fact, she probably should have driven so Jake didn't get in an accident. He might be the one going home in a cab with a female companion while she drove his car home. It depended on him and how much he celebrated.

It didn't take long for some girls to slide in their booth and sit beside noticed his little glance towards her and she looked away. She was not in charge of what he did. That didn't mean she wanted to sit around while he seduced girls into his bed. When she finished her water she stoo up and went to get it refilled. She also got another drink for Jake and Luke. She took the two drinks to the booth and then made herself scarce.

"Are you a girl friend or a wife?" A voice came from behind her.

She looked over her shoulder at a very pretty blonde woman, "Neither. Assistant."

She nodded her head, "Oh. You're the one they keep talking about. These men fight like gladiators but they act like middle schoolers when they see a pretty girl." She rolled her eyes and laughed. "Where's Drifter?"

"He's in the booth." She pointed back to the booth and looked at the blonde. "Who are you?"

"Jessica Starling. I work for Figters magazine. I was wondering if I could get an interview."

Adri sighed, "Leave him alone tonight. If you have a card I'll bring it up to him later. He might like you." She said a little jealously.

"Great." Jessica smiled at her, "Get off the wall. A pretty girl like you should be on the dance floor." Adri shook her head. She needed to be aware of Jake. She couldn't let loose like every one else. "Suit yourself kid. It's a fun time out there."

Adri spent the next couple hours watching people dance. At one point she noticed one of the girls Jake was talking to give him his own little dance. It probably wasn't club appropriate but it looked like he enjoyed it. She tried to keep an eye on him and have a good time herself. She spoke to a few fighters and had some very interesting conversations. Normal guys tried to get her phone number but she declined. She declined offers for drinks and dances as well.

Things were going good until Ray made his appearance. He had a fractured rib but that didn't stop him from having a good time. She wasnt paying attention and he was next to her after he made his rounds. He took her hand and tugged her to the dance floor without giving her the choice. She laughed it off so she didn't make a scene and danced with him for a little bit but when she tried to leave he held her hips a bit tighter.

He tried to talk to her but the music was too loud where they were for her to hear. She kept trying to get away but that only made him angrier. He had a drink in his hand and he was probably on some really good medication to keep him from feeling any pain. Alcohol and mess don't really mix though so he was starting to make a bigger ass of himself than usual.

Adri turned and put her hand in his chest. She shook her head and told him she didn't want to dance politely but he gripped her arm and pulled her in. She didn't want to but she used his weakness against him and hit his injured side. He got unexpectedly angry and pushed her way back. If someone didn't catch her she probably would have fallen.
